A HUGE MISTAKE!! X2 is one of the most intense coasters in any amusement park. Definitely don't recommend it for first-time coaster riders... especially if you have no coaster experience. It took me 3 years to get on X2, but I have no regrets. I love it!!

Excellent advice. I'm a Season Pass holder and have gone 5 times since joining in October. It's such a great deal. You're correct about going to the back of the park first, however, I have found that if you get there when the park opens, my advice is to head straight to Full Throttle. The line is minimal at opening, but gets very long for the rest of the day...and never seems to die down. So I do that first and then head straight to the back for walk-ons. Last visit I did 7 rides in 2.5 hours. Was perfect.

Thanks for this - it worked for me. Was actually looking for Tatsu, but saw Full Throttle soon after entering the park and remembered this advice. The wait was 10 mins (only because they were running 1 train). Later in the day it jumped to 45 mins and then 60 mins, and never dropped the rest of the day!
Biggest mistake I ever made was going with my uncle. He got plastered drunk and started going around saying "I SAT IN BUBBLE GUM" exposing himself to everyone. I dipped out and rode Goliath. A few hours had passed and I got a phone call with caller ID Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Turns out he was arrested. He kept asking me for bail money, but I was only 15 at the time,I didn't have a job. He kept saying to just take his F150 and pick him up and not to tell my mom. Only thing is 1) I didn't have any keys to the truck, and 2) I barely had a drivers permit. Like ya, he brought me so I could drive him back as he was gonna get black out drunk and not be able to pass the breathalyzer installed in his truck, but I can't drive a vehicle without someone over the age of 25, I only have a learners permit. I called my mom, she picked me up, then got him out of jail, and then I STILL had to drive his white trash truck with a breathalyzer in it with him in the passenger seat puking out the window the whole way.
That's a real sad story. I'm sorry that you had to experience it. I can't stand drunks...they think that they're funny, but they're not. They're pathetic.
Great advice. with the timing of when to go on rides plus the time of season. I've been able to get on X2 9 times in a row without having to even leave my seat. Yes they have let me stay on if nobody is waiting to get on. The same with going on the rides in the back of the park first. I've easily gone on Apocalypse 8 times in a row without having to leave my seat.
Do not listen to leaving bags and not getting a locker. We did and they stole the bag which had our keys, sunglasses, and other items. They are running multiple trains on coasters at once. If you leave your bag you are trusting those in the train before you won’t steal it. It was one of the worst experiences for us. Trust me the cost of the locker in the front of the park is 100% worth it.
Sorry to hear about your experience, I always take pants or shorts with zippered pockets for my valuables and leave an old tote bag with my water bottles/stuff that I don’t really care about losing.
Another tip: arrive at the park an hour before the gates open so you can rush off to X2 and Tatsu. Did this three days in a row last week and it was amazing! Also, make sure you go when it is really hot so the crowds are driven away.
If you’re going back left(apocalypse, west coast racers) go toward revolution and go up the exit- it’s a shortcut to the midway near Tatsu. Catch a walk-on while you’re there or continue back to Apocalypse and West coast racers and work clockwise around the park. Most guests move counterclockwise around the summit because it’s flatter looking from the gate. Been doing this for over 20 years
i just went to Magic Mountain with my son. I can vouch for all of these tips. We figured out pretty early that we need to get there early, about 30 mins before they open, then we we're able to walk straight to the busiest rides. Our trick was to hop on Classic: The New Revolution first. We got on that one within 5 mins, then the exit to that coaster brings you closer to Tatsu, so you don't have to hoof it up the hill as much. Next was Tatsu, and we only had to wait 15 mins, vs the crazy 2 hour waits we saw every other time. Right after that, we went straight down to West Coast Racers, then Wonder Woman, then Twisted Colossus. All of those rides had 1 hour+ waits within 2 hours of the park opening, but we got on every one with only about 30 mins total wait time.
great tips, something to also consider is that if you show up to a line and it's unreasonably long, go do something else and come back at a different time. most of the crowd moves around the park in the same way, going from full throttle to twisted colossus to wonder woman to wcr and then to x2. You can plan out your day pretty easily with this. ALSO REMEMBER: IN THE OFF SEASON, OPERATIONS SUCK! They're usually slow, most rides are only running 1 or 2 cars, and a lot of things will be closed or have technical errors. Show up expecting this :)
I live very close to MM. We have a high level membership, and make frequent use. Early entry, hit X2, then a walk on to twisted. Proceed to the backside, and hit most of what we want. Done by 12:30, home for lunch. Anything missed, we get next time.
Went on a Friday with a friend. Got there as it opened. Never been before. And was not expecting Disney type crowds there. I thought it would be like Knott's with a crowd. Even those its bigger and is more of a thrill place. Was not expecting it to be that PACKED! Only ended up doing 3 rides. With the rest of the rides being 2 or 3 hour waits!!!! And I thought wanting a hour for the rides at Disneyland was long.
Yeah i just bought the platinum pass for the price of a gold pass, tickets were like 65 dollars and i only had to pay $40 for the pass and $10 for the next 7 months, perfect buy considering I'm gonna head to hurricane harbor with my friends a few times this summer

WALKING Up that Long Ramp or Steps up to Samurai Summit to get to the Sky Tower, Superman, Ninja when you can take the Honda Express Rail Tram up the Hill instead. Although, you have to 🙏 and hope it's Open.
Lockers are only 1$ per ride which to me is fine for knowing your stuff is safe and you don't need to bring a backpack or anything if you don't want to. Just alternate paying for lockers with your friends. Besides, you probably won't need them for every ride
Mistake #1: Eating the food at six flags in general. It sucks. Sneak in McDonald’s and you can have an extra 30-60 min to go on rides rather than wait for food

Was there today! Flash pass SAVED ME - but even still as a single rider the staff doesn't make it much of a priority to get you on ASAP - I was there at park opening and only managed to finish all 10 elite thrill rides by the 5.30PM
Went earlier this month on a Sunday(August 7th) expected it to be very crowded but was pleasantly surprised. Only negative part about that trip is Tatsu was closed for half the day and I could never find time to ride it. Was my first time so rides like Riddlers Revenge Wonder Woman and especially X2 really impressed me!
Full Throttle is so much better in the dead center seats. When you go at the top of the loop, sitting in the middle will give you a lot more hang time than sitting in the front or back.
The "black box" on the seat belt of West Coast Racers hit me in the head constantly while on the ride. It hit me near the temple and gave me such a horrible headache. So dangerous. I saw people taller than me and shorter than me not have an issue. Not sure if I had bad luck but I will never get on that ride again. You can't enjoy the rest of the coasters if you have a splitting headache.

Correction: certain passes include preferred parking. So, use it if you can. They also include a free refillable souvenir cup. The souvenir cups are worth it for those hot days standing in line.
As a Diamond Elite Passholder we visit this park at least three times a month. But I have lost my keys my phone however, they are so phenomenal at finding items. Another thing they have for parents is (parent swap) so if you're with a small child and you want to ride but can't you and your partner can just swap and the kid gets to go twice. 😉 definitely wear shoes don't be one of those people who wear sandals LOL. towards the end of the night you can take the bus back to the parking lot so you don't have to walk 🥰
Know that you get several skip the line passes with diamond elite. I just discovered this a few days ago while at Magic Mountain. I got my diamond elite at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio so Magic Mountain might not give the skip the lines, check your benefits on the app.
We are from Florida and are traveling out to Southern California this summer. SIx Flags is on our list of things to do. We have 215 coaster credits and look forward to adding a few more. Seems like a lot of these coasters are very rough and I am not a fan of those .
heres a tip btw especially if your staying till closing, get on the tatsu as early as possible if you want to ride it. bye sun down evry line was dead but the tatsu was always long

I was at Six Flags Magic Mountain a few weeks ago and Wiz Khalifa was there with his girlfriend and kids acting like a normal person until everyone caught on while he was getting on Crazanity but he was chill with no security or anything
NEVER go the day after Christmas, Dec 26! It was Magic Mountains busiest day of the year! It took them by surprise. I bought a Flash Pass (whatever it's called) & still waited almost an hour for West Coast Racer, Tatsu and Wonder Woman. Normal lines were stretching to well over 3 hours at times! I got in line for parking an hour before opening & it took over an hour before I parked! I complained bitterly when leaving & got my $230 flash pass fee refunded since I only got 5 rides. Fortunately, I also went Christmas Day & all open coasters were walk-ons for several hours. Buy the season pass that allows all other Six Flags parks plus parking if you're out of town and want to visit another Six Flags park. You'll also get several skip the lines with this tier of pass. Some errors in this video, Wonder Woman also does not allow anything to be taken into the station, but some of the lockers are free or you can leave your stuff on top. Wonder Woman is the weakest & least forceful of the 4 RMC Raptors I've ridden, which I found weird since it's bigger & longer than those others. Twisted Colossus is also one of the gentler RMC I-Box coasters among 6 I've ridden. X2, Riddlers Revenge, Full Throttle, Goliath and Superman were all closed both days I was there. Tatsu ran ONE train both days with over 4 hour lines! Another error in this video is he said "$130" while circling the season pass price of $190. What the F*@# is up with not having trams to transport parkgoers the 5 miles from parking to the gate? This is a scourge of all Six Flags parks in recent years.
5 miles? Over exaggerating a bit, aren’t we? Parking in the back corner of the lot MIGHT be half a mile from the gate. And you likely won’t park that far in the first place
It's hard for most people that work during the week to get there on any days besides Saturday or Sunday. That's why it's not as crowded during the week.
Unfortunately, Six Flags Magic Mountain changed their no summer hours to a really bad schedule for customers, 10:30am to 6pm on Mon and Fri, 10:30am to 8pm on Sat and Sun. Tues, Wed, and Thurs, theyre straight up closed
1:50 Magic mountain recently has been very dead. Ive been going on Saturdays and fridays this summer and there have been absolutely no lines… been walking onto stuff in max 10 minutes. This is consistent, its still like that. Its kinda bittersweet
@@coastergaming3640 it seems the park is pretty empty all the time right now. It may be the oktoberfest / frightfest events that are making the one day prices so high and discouraging people to go, but it also could just be a new stable price. Either way, i think thats the reason

Season passes are the way to go and I would add that avoiding parking altogether is preferrable. Get dropped off at the front of the park, it's way easier and faster.
My friend and I tried going on Bring a friend free day not knowing it was and we couldn’t get anywhere near the park! So we turned around and ended up doing a little shopping.
I mostly agree with you on all the mistakes that you pointed out in the video, except for mistake number 5 the wait times. You totally misinterpreted and misunderstood what those signs in the queue lines are talking about. Those signs say that the wait is that long from that point in the line. So obviously if the line is not long enough to reach the sign then it's going to be shorter than that and that's why you interpreted it as inaccurate when really it's not. You can see this in both of the signs that you showed in the video. The signs say that the wait is whatever time from that point. That's also why the time on those signs never changes.
I don’t know. My leg has been giving me trouble. I’m thinking it may be worth it to get a pass wlth preferred parking. It’s $50 more for the sale rt now. I don’t know that we will always get there early. If someone has a disability and needs to rent an electric mobile chair do they have to walk from the parking lot all the way into the park entrance for it? It actually makes sense to me. They had that for the Riddler ride at Six Flags over Georgia. We determined that it means "if the line is here, this is about how long its going to take to get on the ride"
I would not feel safe putting my bags on the floor of rides that go upside down and all around. Do that on X2 you are going to lose your stuff. I won’t even put my phone in my pocket on that ride. That is how I lost it before

They can check anything they want. Especially in the L.A. area they will likely search bags/backpacks/purses. You're on private property and this is their policy, which is on a sign prior to entering any Six Flags park.

Sounds like a good idea to me! And yeah it’s rly hard to determine which rides will be closed before your visit but the majority of them should be open.
The real mistake is stepping foot in this park. The rides are always closed. The food is horrible, slow and overpriced. The entire park is ran by kids who have no sense of urgency. The theaters are underutilized and could be showing productions, but instead are empty. The bus that transports you from the parking lot is old and smokey...when it's actually running. And lastly...the customer service is the worst you will ever experience at any amusement park.
Plot twist: since everyone has seen this video everything that applies to the video is not the opposite, go on the weekends, buy preferential parking, yes, and oh yeah go ride the front rides first... Huh? Oh sure, I mean yes boss I most certainly typed the part about them spending more money on the preferential parking.
Worse mistake I made was going there and getting on x2 with no previous experience of ANY coasters at all.

Both days are great days! During that time I really wouldn’t recommend a flash pass. However, you can always buy it day of if needed

Correction: certain passes include preferred parking. So, use it if you can. They also include a free refillable souvenir cup. The souvenir cups are worth it for those hot days standing in line.
As a Diamond Elite Passholder we visit this park at least three times a month. But I have lost my keys my phone however, they are so phenomenal at finding items. Another thing they have for parents is (parent swap) so if you're with a small child and you want to ride but can't you and your partner can just swap and the kid gets to go twice. 😉 definitely wear shoes don't be one of those people who wear sandals LOL.
towards the end of the night you can take the bus back to the parking lot so you don't have to walk 🥰
Know that you get several skip the line passes with diamond elite. I just discovered this a few days ago while at Magic Mountain. I got my diamond elite at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio so Magic Mountain might not give the skip the lines, check your benefits on the app.
We are from Florida and are traveling out to Southern California this summer. SIx Flags is on our list of things to do. We have 215 coaster credits and look forward to adding a few more. Seems like a lot of these coasters are very rough and I am not a fan of those .
heres a tip btw especially if your staying till closing, get on the tatsu as early as possible if you want to ride it. bye sun down evry line was dead but the tatsu was always long

How do celebrities do Six Flags? I can hardly picture Stallone or Beyonce, waiting patiently in line, signing autographs and posing for selfies while they wait for their turn to ride, each ride.
I was at Six Flags Magic Mountain a few weeks ago and Wiz Khalifa was there with his girlfriend and kids acting like a normal person until everyone caught on while he was getting on Crazanity but he was chill with no security or anything
NEVER go the day after Christmas, Dec 26! It was Magic Mountains busiest day of the year! It took them by surprise. I bought a Flash Pass (whatever it's called) & still waited almost an hour for West Coast Racer, Tatsu and Wonder Woman. Normal lines were stretching to well over 3 hours at times! I got in line for parking an hour before opening & it took over an hour before I parked! I complained bitterly when leaving & got my $230 flash pass fee refunded since I only got 5 rides. Fortunately, I also went Christmas Day & all open coasters were walk-ons for several hours. Buy the season pass that allows all other Six Flags parks plus parking if you're out of town and want to visit another Six Flags park. You'll also get several skip the lines with this tier of pass. Some errors in this video, Wonder Woman also does not allow anything to be taken into the station, but some of the lockers are free or you can leave your stuff on top. Wonder Woman is the weakest & least forceful of the 4 RMC Raptors I've ridden, which I found weird since it's bigger & longer than those others. Twisted Colossus is also one of the gentler RMC I-Box coasters among 6 I've ridden. X2, Riddlers Revenge, Full Throttle, Goliath and Superman were all closed both days I was there. Tatsu ran ONE train both days with over 4 hour lines! Another error in this video is he said "$130" while circling the season pass price of $190. What the F*@# is up with not having trams to transport parkgoers the 5 miles from parking to the gate? This is a scourge of all Six Flags parks in recent years.
I went the same day with the mindset of it’s the day after Christmas who is going? But I was so wrong, only got on two rides and stayed for 7 hours.
5 miles? Over exaggerating a bit, aren’t we? Parking in the back corner of the lot MIGHT be half a mile from the gate. And you likely won’t park that far in the first place

It's hard for most people that work during the week to get there on any days besides Saturday or Sunday. That's why it's not as crowded during the week.
Unfortunately, Six Flags Magic Mountain changed their no summer hours to a really bad schedule for customers, 10:30am to 6pm on Mon and Fri, 10:30am to 8pm on Sat and Sun. Tues, Wed, and Thurs, theyre straight up closed
Now that summer is over they’re going back to the Friday-Monday scheduled and closed for the middle of the week
1:50 Magic mountain recently has been very dead. Ive been going on Saturdays and fridays this summer and there have been absolutely no lines… been walking onto stuff in max 10 minutes. This is consistent, its still like that. Its kinda bittersweet

@@coastergaming3640 it seems the park is pretty empty all the time right now. It may be the oktoberfest / frightfest events that are making the one day prices so high and discouraging people to go, but it also could just be a new stable price. Either way, i think thats the reason

Be careful on Tatsu! The back row is wild and left me feeling a bit ill which had never happened before.
Season passes are the way to go and I would add that avoiding parking altogether is preferrable. Get dropped off at the front of the park, it's way easier and faster.

Bro I made mistake 5 and I was waiting in west coast racers in a supposedly 30 minute wait, it turned out to be an hour.
I went on September on a Friday and the park was almost empty all the rides wait times were mostly 15 minutes to no wait time
Summertime is also going to be crazy hot. Expect 100F (40C) temps and more.

I mostly agree with you on all the mistakes that you pointed out in the video, except for mistake number 5 the wait times. You totally misinterpreted and misunderstood what those signs in the queue lines are talking about. Those signs say that the wait is that long from that point in the line. So obviously if the line is not long enough to reach the sign then it's going to be shorter than that and that's why you interpreted it as inaccurate when really it's not. You can see this in both of the signs that you showed in the video. The signs say that the wait is whatever time from that point. That's also why the time on those signs never changes.
Yeah. They don’t even change the signs either so this is probably the best interpretation you can make of them.

I don’t know that we will always get there early. If someone has a disability and needs to rent an electric mobile chair do they have to walk from the parking lot all the way into the park entrance for it? When we went to Disneyland we rented one from a company across the street and drove it over

Jist get the flash pass so you can ride any ride you want any time as many times as you like. Sure it's expensive but its well worth it.

It actually makes sense to me. They had that for the Riddler ride at Six Flags over Georgia. We determined that it means "if the line is here, this is about how long its going to take to get on the ride"

they are super lax, bags almost never checked just walk through a detector, i’ve come in with full hydroflasks and totally fine never checked
They can check anything they want. Especially in the L.A. area they will likely search bags/backpacks/purses. You're on private property and this is their policy, which is on a sign prior to entering any Six Flags park.
@@crooked-halo thank you for the info. They ended up checking the back pack but not too throughly. I had the alcohol on a fake sun screen bottle and they didn’t even both picking it up.

Sounds like a good idea to me! And yeah it’s rly hard to determine which rides will be closed before your visit but the majority of them should be open.

The real mistake is stepping foot in this park. The rides are always closed. The food is horrible, slow and overpriced. The entire park is ran by kids who have no sense of urgency. The theaters are underutilized and could be showing productions, but instead are empty. The bus that transports you from the parking lot is old and smokey...when it's actually running. And lastly...the customer service is the worst you will ever experience at any amusement park.
Season passes so much more cheaper than buying a single day pass
