My ten-year-old nephew got serious cred when he pointed and shouted “It’s going to be a rollback!” while the train was at most three-quarters of the way up and still carrying speed, allowing a lot of people around us to see the rollback from start to finish. Then again, later in the day he blew half that cred by shouting it again when it wasn’t a rollback. 😂. Still, it’s pretty rare to nail it the way he did that first time.
@@jackrandazzo4472 it actually helps the ride itself. Dragster only has a slightly downward flat ending which gets back to the station slower, where as Ka gets back to the station quicker as it rolls down the hill at a nice speed

I used to love walking up from power tower area and hearing the rumble and the base of the engine roar then the vrooooooooom when it took off. I can’t wait for this thing to reopen !!
The theming of this ride is absolutely perfect. I love cars and racing as well as roller coasters and the fact that this ride exists with the theme that it does just feels good to me. From the cammed v8 sound effect to the Christmas lights, they actually could not have themed this ride any better. It gives it so much character that I don't really see with the kingda ka. I will always love this ride even though it is only 17 seconds. Also, what a launch! The only other time you'll feel that acceleration is in an F1 car or a actual drag car. Amazing.

Awesome footage my dude! During my two days at cp last year I only got on ttd once due to it being broken nearly the entire time. I made this my 50th coaster, and I’m glad I walked right on it (fast lane plus) because it broke down not long after! That one ride in the back (assigned seating didn’t let me wait for the front) was SO sweet! That launch is unreal!
next time you go to cedar point, my favorite view of dragster is the platform right before you enter magnum's station, best angle in the park guaranteed.

I went on this coaster the first year it went up. (2003) They still had a lot of bugs to work out, and it went backwards down the hill more times than it went over the hill. Going back to Cedar Point this year for the first time since that trip. Really excited. That little audio clip at the end of your video made me smile because they played that song EVERY SINGLE time the coaster was about to launch. Thanks for the memories.
I was on a rollback on Dragster once. All the people in the car were like, 'ahhh' on the way up. On the way down, all those same people were like, 'AHHH I HOPE MY WILL IS UPDATED'. I was like, yay I get to go again. They were like, wait, we didn't die? I was like, no we didn't pesants. The ride operator was like, wanna go again? Everyone was like, yes We launched again. And everyone was like 'ahhh' once more.
@@CedarPoint-jx9gz It's not wrong. It takes it 118 mph to crest the top hat, and can reach 120 mph with no head winds. It drops the same amount that it climbs, and hits anywhere from 118-120 mph on the way down, depending on friction, total weight on the train and cross winds. On a perfect storm launch of 118 mph going into a head wind, the train can actually get stuck at the top, with the front seats facing downward and the rear seat hanging back toward the launch. They get a maintenance guy to go up the elevator in the top hat's tower, he gets out at the top, tethered to safety equipment and takes a pole and pushes the train forward. There are videos of it on RUclips, it's so cool. I've ridden it 105 times and had 3 rollbacks. One of them was stuck at the top for about 3 seconds, but the head winds blew us back for a rollback!
@@triple7marc That's explained in the video, no question there. I was saying...if you were on the ride and experienced a roll back, would you get off or would you just launch again with the new speed calibrated in by the computer?
@@brendanredler3666 you stay on. They roll you back in manual mode until you get to the transfer track, then they reset the ride and put it back in auto and you take off like normal again.

Low capacity I believe. They removed them but added a couple more cars.

Exactly. I believe it uses information from the previous three launches to calculate the ideal launch speed.

Millennium Force Steel Vengeance X2 and Dragster are all basically drugs to me. All the other coasters I’ve ridden are filler.
