      stuco81 the original DS citroens were very special, but the rest of the range were aimed at the masses. Peugeot had such a durable image in Africa and the Middle East with the 404 and 504, they were known as French Mercs. However after that Peugeot lost their way.

    Most people buy SUV's because they think it makes them look tough... Wagons are almost always a better choice... Except for the few people who really do need to go off road

    Good looking bit of kit. I have the 3008 SUV so I am familiar with the brilliant interior design and i-Cockpit. Until I bought my 3008 I did not believe I would ever own a Peugeot: but I would have no qualms in buying another.

      @@newmotoring. I've owned it for 17 months and it is so good to drive. I settled on an Allure 1.2 auto and it has all the acceleration and speed I require. I have never had a problem overtaking on any type of road and achieve about 32 mpg around town and 51mpg on motorways. I used to be trained and paid to drive at high speed and I have no issues with the performance.

      Same here. Got a 2008 last year for a second car. Loved it! Just replaced my X3 (2yrs old full of issues) with a new 5008. Fantastic cars. Never thought of Peugeot but now I love them.

    • @PiotrPilinko
      @PiotrPilinko 5 лет назад

      @@stevekovacevic7128 Peugeot aims for better quality... with higher prices. Current 508 is 30-40% more expensive than a previous model (similar: 3008 2nd gen is about 30-40% more expensive then 1st generation). So Citroen became the cheaper brand for PSA (C5Aircross should be 10-20% cheaper then 3008 - at least according to the configurator - but also interior quality is superior in Peugeot)...

  • @cosmingosav

    I appreciate the fair point of view. One suggestion I like to add is try to not overexpose the interior shots as they have a little bit too much light and it's a tad distracting. Great job, none the less!

  • @AaronRandolphChen

    Great review. I agree with you that wagons are still a great option as opposed to SUV's. Apart from the higher center of gravity, most SUV's also carry a lot more weight - not all of them can pull it off as well as Porsche's Macan or BMW's X3 either. For me personally, its night driving where driving an SUV has a distinct advantage - specifically when it comes to the glare of oncoming headlights. When you are in a low riding car, the oncoming headlights of SUV's can sometimes blind you, but not so if you are driving an SUV. But aside from that, I am in love with the 508 SW but only a little disappointed that Peugeot gave you one in the least flattering color combo - white body with black alloys - yecch! Keep the reviews coming, Mate! I am one of your fans!

    I have a top of the range mark 3 laguna initiale Estate, it's now 11 years old but has been the most reliable and comfortable car I have ever owned with now 211,000 miles on the clock, I was so disappointed when reno did not bring the Talisman to the UK as its stunning but I think I have finally found a replacement with the 508sw, well done on such a sensible down to earth car report.

    I am currently driving my second 407 sw ... and am looking at this as it's replacement. I like the lines and the fuel economy of the 407's, pity nothing about the economy of the engines was mentioned in your report. I love the exterior, still not fully taken by the 'piano buttons' but do like that not everything is touch screen. Those buttons I think harp back to the 70's when cars did have big switches.

    Wonderful car, I own a 2020 SW and so far I am more than satisfied with it. The 180 hp Petrol engine runs economical, wish it could be stronger in the lover revs ( drove diesel before)., I compared the 508 SW with V90, C klass and in my opinion you get more comfort in the 508.

      I had more problems with my Nissan Qashqai then with my wife's Pug 208 (Pug required only a software update, as its infotainment reboots from time to time, Qashqai required replacement of engine shaft sealer and several minor issues)...
      In case of Peugeot - I would avoid 1.6 THP engines (the "new" PureTech 1.6 is heavily modified "Prince" engine line, which was not too reliable - and from some reasons - it is now available ONLY with an automatic gearbox - maybe with an exception of 308 GTi) - maybe with modernisation it is better then a predecessor, but it must be confirmed (although EAT8 is a very good gearbox)...
