Peugeot went through a terrible phase between 2000 and 2012, glad to see things are definitely on the up, love this new 508
We can refer to it kindly as a 'slight dip'! Definitely on the up. Hopefully they can keep it going!
Well, a terrible phase for uk public maybe, but they still did good cars ... 307 : car of the year, 207 : a bit heavy but good platform and amazing durability, 407 : amazing ride, 308 I : amazing car with the tops petrol engine ...
All the Peugeots I've owned were from this period and I prefer them over the new ones, so only your opinion mate.
Sir Reaper you cannot honestly say that 107,307,407 and 3008 were decent products!! Personal opinion is that Peugeot had a great reputation which disappeared not long after the 206 came out. Right until then then made cars which looked good, handled great and the diesel engines were the best. I feel Peugeot could easily have become the French Audi back then but went down the wrong path releasing below-par products. There's a reason the company was on the verge of going bust in 2012, the product range was rubbish.
All Peugeots are better than Hitler's cars.

GTI would be a bit of a silly name for this saloon (even though there was a 505 GTI) but it'd be more likely called 508 R
@@frenchmax100 However they name it, I agree with Seann - I think this would make a tremendous hot saloon. Personally, I'd go for the biggest, quietest configuration, but it's a stylish vehicle. Love it.
@@frenchmax100 or maybe resurrect the Mi 16 name that was used on the 405? Then again R sounds more simpler and a bit special..
@@kofib3 Well they almost put out a 308 RHybrid with that technology so I'd go for R since RHybrid is a bit of a mouthful. I'd love to see a 508 T16 but one can only dream. 😌

You're one of the very few that had the opportunity to test drive this car in UK.BTW,very good review,and also you forgot to mention that this version tested was an entry level one (Active if i'm right) .

Pillar-less doors is actually frame less windows. The car has all 3 pillars - A-B-C and doors are mounted in a classic way - front doors to A pillar and back doors to B-pillar. Just saying.

That market segment wants a comfortable, stylish, well-equipped and pleasant to drive car with an automatic gearbox. Deal with it dude! If I want a pissy 1.5L manual I'll buy a fekkin Vauxhall.
Welcome back Peugeot. The most desirable and stylish Peugeot cars since the days of the lovely 504 saloon and delightful 304 Cabriolet.
Excellent review young man. It really is a decent looking car. I personally though think the auto would suit the nature of the car better than the manual will.
Looks more than great in and out , I don’t mind the 1.6 turbo petrol at 225 cp is really good. The interior though is a new age and really interesting, the only E Classe is a bit more refined but this is for more younger people.
The New Peugeot a great looking Car and I recommend It to Company Car Drivers. The Peugeot 3008 SUV which also features the Small Steering Is one the most popular SUVs on the road. The next big launch for the brand Is the 208 which will get Its Premiere at the 2019 Genera Motor Show

Finally a pug saloon as good looking as the 406.
I thought it was surprisingly noisy..then he said it is a 1.5 diesel. Will stick to the hybrid

Good question. But it is better looking, bigger, and will be less common in the UK. Bmw 3 series in the uk is now what mondeo used to bw in the 90s. Too common

Matthieu Aoun yy that is really sad, that they didnt make 3.0 litr for this version or some boosted version, when all other brands have 3.0l .. or 2.0 with higher hp.. i dont really want to get bet up on highway by wo. pass/ sk oct, sup and others,, to sad no awd , hope the version for 508 gti and rhx will come boosted

Mercedes colud learn a thing or two from 3008 and 508 design, every new mercedes looks really horrible.
Goes on talking for 10:19 minutes in a so called "review" and can't spare 1 minute to talk about how the rear seat and boot space is???
