Me n wife work in factory's.....we run RC trucks for free....I got stickers and parts but no sponsor...lol....but I keep them tiptop shape way more than driving them....it's a hobby I've been in since the 80s....never felt like a job to play and never gonna be one ..rather punch a time clock with a paycheck every week with benefits than keep up with the RC Jones.....cheers from Arkansas and be safe 😊
If I just make enough to keep my rc into racing I'm happy. When I can just keep the truck on the track racing without spending my work pay on it I'm good.
Tlr paid/pays for Phend's college. Phend, Cav, Mayfield, definitely those guys are living off of driving. But I heard a top driver can get 2k from a tire sponsor depending on their finish
You are most likely right. There are not many super rich pro drivers out there but some are definitely making a living out of RC. For instance, Marc Reinhardt and Bruno Coelho started their own brands and they have connections with online shops so that definitely brings them a quite decent income by itself. Those are top drivers, world champs, so it's understandable. However, the "average" pro driver still has to work :D
Definitely more then 5 pro drivers making good money! I’m from Michigan my dad uses to run RC track in mid 2000s Ernie The owner of Trinity used to rent our track out every year before winter champs race in Cleveland used to be a 500+ entry race I have met hundreds of pro drivers over the years most of them work for the company paying them to drive!
Well I can definitely tell you some pro RC drivers are ballers. I personally know a lot of them and one who’s very very popular has been with me in my car. We went to the ATM and he left his receipt from the ATM transaction on the floor of my car by mistake. Let’s just say 6 figures is definitely no bullshit!!!! Well deserved, but comes with a lot of travel and sacrifice.
I want to be a pro rc racer! Ive been racing for about 9 months... 1/8 scale E-buggy. I Love it, and I have gotten better. See you at a track one day...
You seem to have a passion for this hobby and I hope you do miraculously find a way to make a living off of it. However, I wouldn't hurry to quit my day job. It's a niche hobby targeting a very niche market. While high skill RC racing can be spectator sport, its orders of magnitude more fun for me play than to watch others play. Also, as Mark explained, the economy of sponsorship simply doesn't check out for there to be decent money to be made for a pro. It'd be safer to instead get a degree and pursue a well paying job, so you can have the money to facilitate your passion for expensive toys.
I FEEL LIKE IM A PRO DRIVER, AND I ONLY MAKE WHAT MY MOM AND WIFE GIVES ME. ITS NOT ABOUT THE MAD $ FOR ME THO. ITS THE LOVE, AND I TRY TO NEVER FORGET THAT.
Earnings to date is alot different from annual income. Same as in knowing how to drive is alot different from knowing also how something works and how to make it constantly work better. Those making the big money are the ones that are vital assets to the companys they work for. Programmers, engineers, builders, and driver's.
No more having to buy them used hey brother congratulations 🎉🎈🍾 on going pro Hot Body’s is actually HPI I believe , How come its so damn expensive if they ain’t paying their drivers shit some one is getting paiddddd!!!!!! Well it’s not that big of an industry . Id for sure be living a whole lot better if I didn’t have to purchase my gear with my own money I could for sure dig the perks of being a driver
people like Drake get money from their name on engines thats why you get a patent on your name so when they want to put your name on something you name your price but they are not going to give you millions because rc is just not that big
I love racing and all but i dont think these drivers makes a lot, take the world championships for example. On a good day you’ll get a thousand butts to those sits and i think im over stating that. For drivers to make money the event has to make money. And for the companies to make money they need to attract more people to their products. They do make money dont get me wrong but it would only be on a major events. IMO we need more advertising and promoting. I have no idea how they’re gonna do that or anything like that but working together is a good start.
I didn't think you could make money from this! I thought this was recreational! so you'd get a kick out of the face I made when I read the title of this video.
You can make money doing just about ANYTHING if you are amazing at it. Its like rule34 but SFW. If it exists, theres a professional competition for it.
Mark - I really do enjoy your videos and I get good information from them. Unfortunately, this video seemed to have a lot of babble just to fill time. Have a little respect for your viewers.

I'll save you some time - just start watching at 7:00.
👌🙏
Dude do you ever just get straight to the point????????
Thanks ^_^
A number of the more popular manufacturers pay out contingency to drivers based on number of entries at a race (depending on finish of course)

I agree with your thoughts. Drivers need to add more to the company to make more money.
Converting my Losi T8 2.0 Nitro 2 Electric... what motor and ECU would you recommend

So hostile.
A lot in fact! There used to be a video showing the millions RC drivers can make.

Yea, my wife would agree.

Sounds like pro wrestling ………… the headliners are making the big bucks but everyone else still have a 9 to 5 to pay bill and for benefits…………😉

Took too long to explain and not to clear on what he was trying to say
Short answer between 30-100K depending how involved the driver is.
Same as all his other videos...takes at least half of the video to kind of get to the point! I will avoid in the future.
I didn't think you could make money from this!
I thought this was recreational!

3rd 😑
Total waste of time. Nothing was disclosed. Everything was a big guess or speculation.
Second
You carry the conversation so slowly that's is miserable to watch...

Bob DeGood sorry about that. this is a super old video. I live i learn. Always learning.
@@MarkSantaMaria I didn't realize it was an older video, but I do appreciate your reply. I'll keep watching.
