I feel like there’s a slight gap in the Lego demographic, I want more advanced sets with detailed minifigs and complex builds but at a more reasonable price. I’m 16 so a lot of the main Lego Star Wars sets aren’t interesting to me as far as builds whereas I appreciate the attention to detail. I wish Lego Would sell regular priced sets of this quality.
Hogwarts castle is sold as an unique expensive set but also it's sold "room by room" at a more affordable price and with the possibility to conect different rooms in one huge set. The problem with Star Wars is that there are not sets about locations that you can "join together into a bigger set". Ships and minifigs are the ones that can work together with some sort of "same location" logic.

I like the set. The mini figures are amazing. It would’ve been cool if they made it like a millennium falcon and made flaps on the sides so on the outside, it looks like a full blown cloud city, but when you open the flaps and reveal the inside, you see the play features and all
The dust has settled! Cloud City has been out a couple weeks now and I really like it for what it is. An awesome playset with plenty of fun functions and a couple beautiful ships to boot! Will you be buying it?
I probably won’t, but I’m going to ask for it for Christmas, or I’m going to get the Ninjago City Docks since I have the City already with my own money. Anyways, I might get it.
No as it's not really displayable like the original. It's a 360. Degree view set so not suitable for my setup. This truly is a playset like the two death stars. Nothing wrong with it but just not for me.
18 minifigures for that price is pretty fair tbh! Also, I really like the spot where Vader chops off Luke's hand, and the landing platform. Great review!

This set is definitely worth it it has so many iconic moments and I think it captures everything so well not to mention the minifigures and I love the mini Slave one !!
I think that something Lego should do to allow their sets to have more vehicles incorporated but still keep the price low is use slightly bigger than Microfighter spaceships, and in MBS sets do them a little bit larger than that.

My one criticism, however: I wish some of the rooms had been made more accessible for play ( ex: white corridor ), and also that a micro-scale millennium falcon had been included ( such as LEGO 7778 ). Otherwise, awesome! Good job LEGO! Unfortunately, many “professional” adult reviewers and online pundits have already panned it, mostly for lacking in “display-ability”. You can almost feel the calculated disdain; ex: Brickkvault’s review ( which incidentally censored one of my comments when I pointed this out -- which shows how petty they are ). “Oh no, another ‘Assault on Hoth’ thingy!” seems to be their implicit battle cry: let’s trash it to show that we are the true arbiters of ‘cool’! Snobbism, plain and simple, along with a surprising -- and ironic -- lack of touch with how kids really play. It’s a PLAY-set ( you know, a toy for kids?! ), and as such it is unfair, and I would say practically sacrilegious, imo, to look at it as an inert thing to be placed on “display”( = UN-play, or DISS-play ) - like: on a shelf! …’Commodity cult’, anyone? P.S. To grown-ups who would have preferred it to be more “displayable”, here is an idea: slice the playset pie in half, stack the two halves, and shove the whole thing against a wall; presto: "display-shelf-ready Cloud City" ( = 2/3 of a Death Star, or so )! Who knows, you might even have FUN in the process. *EOR*.
Use the brick separator. Put the stickers with an edge on the brick seperator first, then use it to place the sticker on the lego brick. Works fine for me.
Just thinking about all the fans playing and re-enacting the “I know” scene with handcuffed Han and taking off the hand off Luke and doing “I am your father!” in the best Vader voice possible capping it off with the “Nooooooo that’s impossible!”
It so so worth it, you get the main characters from episode 6 and there are so many hidden features in the build that highlights the best parts of that episode.
With this set being so difficult to display due to its sheer size a great compromise might be to take off the landing pad + Slave 1, the scene where Luke and Vader face off plus the Carbon Freeze scene and display them alone. Seeing as they all come away from the main set.
350$ was a steal! I have missed that and just paid 600$ to get it. This set retired very quickly therefore I am not surprised to see price skyrocket...
I love this set, but the issue with this one in comparison to lets say, The Mos Eisley MBS is scale. Mos Eisley Cantina isn't that large, and it can be represented well with all the details it has in an affordable lego set (by big set standards). However, Cloud City is so large that it will never be at true scale with enough details and space unless it costed $1000

However, I was wondering: Would you not have preferred the set be released in separate components (like modular builds), so people could buy bits they wanted and not need to pay $350 dollars for the full thing? E.g have separate sets of the cloud car, slave I, the vader vs luke balcony, the torture chamber, the dining room area etc. I think with a few modifications to the recent carbon freezing chamber set, getting to slowly build up your cloud city with multiple $15 - $40 sets would have been incredible (say 2 sets per wave over the course of 4-5 waves?)

I was super hyped but i gotta say that this is very poor. Studs without plates, the shape of the whole thing Just like the transition from one room to another makes it so bad. I like this idea of the mbs but what we got makes me super sad...
