Would this conversion work with a 01 civic? Or is the cutoff specifically 00?
@@BilligerentGamingit would not. The cutoff is 00
Damn. Well, guess imma have to find another way to convert to all disc brakes lol.
Yes!! I needed this video!! I’ve been trying to do this to my car for a while
Awesome video man, this is gonna be a big help for when i do my conversion soon!
Doing this on my 2000 CR-V. A bit different but some parts are the same. Thanks for the video 👍
I like this intro better than your previous one. 👌🏽
Very informative 👍🏼
I love the blue rims
Thanks for links!
I liked your old intros bro
How did you get the bolt out from where the ebrake cable mounts into the frame under the car ?
What are your thoughts on the prop valve and brake booster? Are those going parts going to be replaced as well or ? I've heard a couple people run it that way and it worked fine for daily driving but when it came for racing/hard breaking it would work so well
I've read a lot of mixed reviews about the prop valve. I do have an si prop valve that I'm putting in it as well as an ITR MC and booster since I upgraded to ITR brakes in the next video. Imo the stock prop valve is probably fine for street use. If you have a DX I would consider at least upgrading to the 7/8 EX master cylinder, but it comes down to preference since the changing the master cylinder and booster only affect pedal feel not actual stopping power.
Hi I have an 1999 civic 2dr what trailing arm i need and brake line , and do I buy the brakes and caliper from a integra 1996 , thanks
I did the conversion on my civic ex 2000 and the parking brake cables from Acura 1996 fit exactly how supposed not issues at all no short no nothing like I hear from other people
Did you need a separate prop valve or rear brake lines? I’m about to swap 99GSR trailing arms into my 00 EX
@@tinoco82200 no plug and play
@@3030rey that’s a relief, thanks for the quick reply
@@tinoco82200 like I said some people said Tny hat they need to modify the ebrake cable
It in my case everything goes in like
It’s
I have a 2003 honda pilot just sitting and it has brand new breaks and slotted and drilled rotors and I was kinda thinking of putting them on my 99 civic is this even possible ? Thanks in advance
Will try to do this soon. I have a new rear axle, do you really need to go into all that trouble removing the emergency brake from the drum?
You can just cut them if you don’t want to preserve them
This would be virtually the same on my ‘00 Accord right?
Where did you get the rear lips at it's sick 💪
I'm here for the same thing...
The Integra trailing arm is not needed if you order the parts listed? Basically remove drum and add bracket with supporting power stop brake kit?
Correct. The scarebird bracket bolts to the stock civic trailing arm and spindle. Take a look at latommyla's video if you want to see how its done.
Ayee man i was just wondering where did you get your headlights from so there fucken clean i need too get them on my civic as well can you give me the link by any chance?
I can only find them smoked for some reason.

On the civic the headlights have those white caps or whatever on them that changes the look of the headlight. what are those called?
Eye lids..
Okay but specs of the rims?? I’m a big fan of this fitment
I have a question man. Gonna be doing this soon (EK4 brakes on my EJ9) but I wanna swap the stock brakes to the donor car for selling it later. Can I keep the drums intact and just pull the entire trailing arms of with parking brake cables still attached to the drum? 😁
Yes you should be able to
@@NickSabella Thanks Nick. I'll keep you posted. 👌👊
@7:05min I use a small hose clamp to compress the ebrake cable saves a lot of 🤬 and is way faster
Did you need to change the proportioning valve at all or was it fine?
I don't track the car, so I can't say from that kind of experience. I can say that I bought an SI prop valve and a 1" master cylinder/brake booster and haven't installed either because I feel like the brakes are evenly balanced and the brake pedal feels fine with the stock 13/16 master cylinder.
240mm or 260mm rotors?
would fit rear caliper and disc from an EDM EK4 with that bracket?
I'm not 100% certain but I believe so
May I know the kit that u used.. Ty
Are your rims offset and if so what size
...your car fire
So I'm looking to eventually do the rear drums swap to disc breaks like this, do you know of any place I can find the rear trailing arms from an SI or maybe an EX if that had em by chance or maybe a Del Sol or Integra?
I think your best bet is to try to get lucky at a junkyard or check fb marketplace or ebay
@@NickSabella OK, yeah, considered junk yards so will look in to those. Did look on ebay and hardly saw any listings and the ones I did, they are very expensive. Maybe Market place will have some. If not I may just do the bracket kit since it's fairly affordable compared. But thanks!
@kyleid777 you can always go the route of the scarebird conversion kit as well
What prop valve did you use and how did you install it using the braided kit?
I have a civic si prop valve ready to go in along with a 1” abs integra master cylinder and brake booster, but as of right now I’m still using the stock prop valve, master cylinder, and brake booster. And tbh, I kinda like the brake feel this way. I’m afraid the brakes will be too touchy once I install everything.
I heard the brakes will not engage unless using 40/40 prop valve. Will the stock prop valve from a 95 civic ex work or will I need to get a different one? Im using the rear brakes from a 97 integra with abs
@@calebbruce4346 that’s false it’ll still stop fine without changing it. I guess the brake bias is slightly different with a disc brake prop valve. You can grab it from any old non abs Honda that had disc brakes
@@NickSabella Nice thanks gonna finish up the conversion soon thanks for the info
Hey there ! What about the proportion valve ?? dont you need that ?
I bought one from an SI but I've yet to put it in. It seems fine without it.
97 civic anyone know what year si i would need to pull a trailing arm from
99-00
@@chrisxnj lol been a while since i posted that thank you for the response
What did you pull the trailing arms from?
From an integra
What kind of wheels are those???
So I have a 96 honda prelude with the inner drum break, I've been researching this for a while and I need more info if this will work.
are the performance sure to be compatible for a 2000 civic ex ?
In order to get full braking performance you will need a 40/40 prop valve. The 00 ex prop valve is 40/20 which means it’s biased for the front brakes and limits the full potential of your rear brakes, nonetheless, the 40/20 prop valve will do fine for street driving.
You know theres a piece you can buy to completely avoid swapping out trailing arms ?
Yes I have a link to it in the description
You will probably have to get your stuff from a junkyard. I am trying to convert my rear drums to disc on my 01 civic lx sedan but there are no kits or adapters anywhere online. Ive been looking for months.
Can u use del sol parts for a civic coupe
I'm not sure about the ebrake cables, but everything else will work.
That rear disc set up came from what year Integra?
I'm not sure but they're all the same
@@NickSabellaI'm not sure if you would know but I have an EG Civic it's the ex model and I'm doing a big brake swap on the front so I want to do the rear disc on the back to counteract. Is the rear trailing arms and spindles off of a Integra only or can I use Del Sol and Si parts. Just curious so I know how many different options I have and are the EG and EK parts interchangeable for the rear thank you in advance
Good video to bad the chap is a oddball 😂😂
@Nick Sabella Do you know if the Scarebird adapters will work on an 01 civic Lx sedan?
Idk for sure but I dont think so
Thanks for the input. I know this is waaaaay late but i contacted them and they said it might not work but they dont know for sure. However if anybody else is having my problem i found an EXPENSIVE solution but a solution none the less:

So did the cables work ?
I ended up buying 99-00 si brake cables which worked perfectly.
can pls sombody Tell me What rims are in the Thumbnail?
JNC 010s custom polished and powder coated
What wheels are these. I’m looking for these in 5 lug

4:13 same song from 79th production videos......
Cool video,, but the music is to loud!!!
Trust me, I've done dozens of rear disc brake swaps. This kit is a bad idea, just use the complete OE Honda/Acura trailing arms. Cheaper and faster, you can do it in the same time as your edited video! ruclips.net/video/rkma7jN6jm0/видео.html
You obviously didn't watch the video. I do the same exact thing as your swap except I show more than you do. Why are you so against the scarebird kit anyway? Not everyone has access to junkyards nearby that have disc swap trailing arms readily available.
@@NickSabella It's just that you recommended the scarebird and it's your first link in your comments, I'm sure you agree scarebird would be plan "B". It's a $90 kit on top of the used parts most guys are buying with the trailing arms anyway. Plus 90% of the guys need to run out and buy tools to install scarebird, unlike a basic rear trailing arm swap. And for future serviceability... if somebody hits your rear wheel and that scarebird bracket gets bent, good luck in a bodyshop getting one quick, that's after they can figure out what the heck is going on with the parts. I see we did the same swap, I didn't bother showing the cable part because it's literally minutes and is self explanatory. No hate here, just a response and an opinion from a guy that does this quite regularly. I'd hate to see somebody spend $90 extra to realize they have all the used parts they need.
@@GIZZMOTORSPORTS those are all good points and I agree with you 100% which is why I did the trailing arm swap in the first place. These parts are getting harder to find though at least in my area and some people don’t want to bother with used rusty parts. One of the calipers in my video ended up being bad. Also I don’t know how much you can find rear disc swaps for, but in my area they can be hundreds of dollars in which case buying the scare bird adapters and a set of new calipers is cheaper.
@@NickSabella I hear ya. B series vtec engines are scarce around here. Luckily I can still get the used rear brake parts for $100.
Just cut the damn thing lmao
Drum brake is. Mor safer than disks
That music in the sped-up parts is TERRIBLE
