I have always enjoyed watching your content because you do take your time shooting the video focusing on the games physical condition, packaging, explaining briefly what you found which is really very informative for us new generation. Keep it up and I can't wait to see what more retro gaming at different store locations in Japan.
I like these videos by JJ Abrams, cuz he's fast talking, unlike that Pyo-Pyo fan, which takes forever for him to go thru some games. And here we're learning numbers too, a lot of numbers.
Great video! The reason for the price difference on the PS5s - the cheaper one's are the PS5 Digital (only) and the other ones are the one's with the blu-ray drive.
Right on, haha. I completely overlooked that. I visited a different shop recently and they had the all digi version higher than the disc version. Maybe due to missing accessories. Cheers!
@@RetroReWire Alot of hidden gems during this trip.... crazy how Cubivore (the one you picked up after Dr.Mario gamecube) and Chibi-robo are 1500 and 900 Y respectively - NA versions are crazy expensive.
Haha, I visit Akiba almost weekly, you just never know you'll find! BOOK OFF is a solid place to shop for games. I recently scored an AMAZING deal on KoF 99 for the Neo Geo AES. Cheers!
Clockwork aquario is worth your time I got it digital didn’t know they had a physical it’s reminiscent of klonoa to me if it were straight 2D and arcade. Solid platformer
A serious question because of the cost price is worth it and might go there to buy stuff there can you buy any game and they will be in English or are some language locked as well as can they work on any region console or are they also region locked
I am not sure about the power supply specifications of the PS5. If it can handle 100v-240v, you should be fine. Depending on where you live, you may need an adapter for the prongs, too. Cheers!
I'm curious, while staying in Japan, have you found and new game or series that you was not aware of before and got into it? Apart from Mario business.
That’s a great question! I can more easily answer your question if we substitute a game for hardware. In this case, it would be the 3DO! I don’t have many games for 3DO, but I’m playing through all the ones I do have and enjoying the experience quite a bit. I specifically got it to play the director’s cut edition of D’s Diner. Cheers!
The Switch is region free. I also have a NA region switch, and I play JPN, EU and ASIA region games without issues. The games will update, too. In order to claim gold coins, a JPN region game will require a JPN e-shop account and so forth. In regard to language, you will need to research it online. Select shops in Akihabara will also state what language a game supports. Cheers!
good sir sorry for my ignorance.would like to buy a superfamicom console when i go to japan this feb.these games in japan are they in the japanese language when u play them?can i select english during start of each game?
The only Super Famicom game that I know of with an English language option is Super Metroid. The good news is that there are many games you can enjoy on the SuperFami without having to know Japanese. Cheers!
Don't have facebook... Any advice on which stores to try for finding a used 'new' 3ds? Any idea what the prices are like? Thanks. Will be in Japan early September to try my luck on various old stuff.. Wii U looks interesting in this vid...
I hit up many shops on a weekly basis and no joke - the New 3DS is a hot item, be it the standard or LL. Prices will vary based off location, but in the Tokyo area you’re looking at roughly ¥18,000 and beyond. Some can be less than perfect and may fall below the avg price. I had a look online, Mercari, Surugaya and Hard OFF net mall, and prices are mostly in-line with prices in stores. A few go for a tiny bit less, but they tend to sell quick. The big positives are that you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding one at well known stores (like Book Off, Hard Off, or Surugaya) and you may not need to pay sales tax. There’s also a chance to score one in sweet condition, below the average asking price, but that’s gonna take some lil bit of luck and destiny. Greetings, there is more to come for sure. Thanks for tuning in, cheers!
So surprising to see such old games in good condition
Yes, the condition of some of these games is astounding.
ive been watching all your videos and loving them! Making me want to come back to japan!
Thanks for the support! Were you in Japan recently? Cheers!
This 19:51 is called Crash Bash outside of Japan, I used to play it alot in my childhood, believe me, it's huge fun.
That was SO COOL! I dont even need half of these games, but just to see them in person some day would be so cool!
Gotta go back to Japan ASAP!
Indeed!
Hi there! It was not Tiger road in the showcase but Trojan, the famicom/nes port from the arcade game... Thanks for the tour!
Right on, I knew I was wrong. Thanks for the info, cheers!
You should have see how my eyes shin when I see you bring out the Biohazard remake GameCube box.

RIGHT HERE 22:52 you missed BIG TIME hahahaha, there is a Biohazard Gun Survivor 4, a super uncommon actually rare one.

Real people know that Book Offs are simply the best place to video game hunt in Japan. Akihabara is overrated and overpriced

Does it include the plastic case if buy the loose cartridge? 10:08
No, it’s just the cart. The Kadenken shop in Akiba was selling acrylic cases at one point. Their site is:

For the PS5, the cheaper ones are digital only. They don't have disc trays 😁
Haha cheers!
Love your videos. Is there a chance to see pc engine videos in the future?
For sure, it’s high time for some PC Engine action. Cheers!
damnnn you went all the way to Gunma for game huinting?! That's dedication

that famicom game isnt tiger road but the japanese version of Trojan!...coll hunt btw...as usual
Is the arcade version of Trojan included in one of the PS2 Capcom collections? I feel like I've maybe played it before. Cheers!
@@RetroReWire yep...i played it on the capcom arcade stadium nintendo switch release
Their xb360 collection unusually big
Can you find any Tamagotchis?
I see them fairly often at hard Off stores. Typically they’re sealed, too. Cheers!
I have a US region switch. Are the games sold in Japan playable on my machine? And how can i tell if games have English language?

Me, too! It may be my next console purchase, cheers!
I would have instantly bought Rockman for 3600 yen! I see people buy it for over 6000 yen.
That one was a nice surprise to see, and the cart was in pretty good condition. Cheers!
