    Are they all capable of spraying super thick paint? Which one sprays the best? How much do they splatter? How do they do with thinned out chalk paint?

    Which one will I recommend? You’ll hate the answer, but I think it depends on what you want in a sprayer.
    The HomeRight, Wagner FLEXiO 3000, and the Fuji all did great!
    If you are looking for budget friendly, the Homeright super finish max and the Wagner FLEXiO 3000 are great. The homeright is harder to clean, but it’s cheaper and comes with different tips and air caps so you have more variety of choices of how you spray.
    The FLEXiO 3000 is easier to clean, but it’s more expensive (around $50 more) and you don’t have as many options. But it does come with the i spray nozzle that’s apparently good for walls and fences.
    The Fuji is my personal fav, but it’s much more expensive. It’s also made of metal parts and honestly will last longer. And you have way more options with it. Options that I don’t even understand. Haha
    The wagner double duty isn’t horrible. It’s totally possible to get an amazing finish with it. But you need to thin out the paint perfectly. It’s a lot harder to do.
    I hope that helps!

    What I understand from this test is that getting the viscosity right is the most important thing. Even the Fuji can behave badly if the paint is too thick, and they all give reasonably good results with a thinned down paint.
    In that sense, it's very clever from Wagner to include a viscosity meter in their kit. It takes the guess work out of the equation.

    Way back in the late 80s, I worked 2 years as a spray painter in a factory. We had high quality electro-static guns. Each paint colour had it's own thickness that was optimal. We had a special measuring cup with a hole on the bottom and we'd time how many seconds it took for it to empty. We'd add paint thinners to dilute it.

    Informative video and I'm glad you mentioned 40 second viscosity on final paint solution. Here's an experiment I'd like you to try, ie standardize the gun settings by setting all paints to a viscosity of 30-40 seconds, but keeping all gun settings constant. Therefore, you rarely need to change the gun settings, just the viscosity.

    I think the Wagner Flexio 3000 did the best, especially for the price point. I had a paint sprayer years ago (I think it was Wagner) and I could never get it to spray well - always had an orange peel finish which I didn't like. I ended up selling it. The Fuji was pretty much the same I thought, but much more expensive.

    Hello, I have bought Flexio 3000 recently and I am really frustrated, I cant get it work without splattering all the time. I am working on small pieces and it really is not acceptable. I work with water based paints. So, do you think I need to thin the paint more - they always say 10% is enough but this seems to be not true. Your result with thinnest paint looked good here. Which power setting it was on?

    • @ARayofSunlight
      @ARayofSunlight  2 года назад +2

      I’m sorry you’re frustrated. What paint are you using? The more thick paints need thinned out more to be able to be sprayed well.
      I can’t remember the exact power setting but I showed it in this video.

    • @OmahaSand
      @OmahaSand 5 месяцев назад

      Some recomend up to 25% thinning for water based paints. Viscosity checking tools are cheap and help you not to guess. Find a vicosity that your gun appreciates and that allows a paint/cure to your liking and enjoy.
