Great content video! I have 2024 Tacoma plain old SR5, rear wheel drive. I am really disappointed in the rough jarring ride even in town. What rear shocks would you recommend to help smooth this ride a little.
Thank you! If you went to the offroad shocks you would see a big difference in ride quality. I’d try to find some on fb marketplace or something. I’d imagine they’re astronomically expensive to buy them new.
hey I have a 2012 trd sport that I bought new, it has the original shocks,bilsing......I don't go off road and on the highway I feel all the bumps...what shock would you recommend for a better ride she has 136K on her now. thanks....any suspension upgrade that you might recommend ??
Great video! Very informative. I heard somewhere that the Bilstein shocks on 4th gen Off-Road trim are similar to the 3rd gen TRD Pro fox suspension. Is that true? Thanks.
Thank you! They are similar in the sense that the new bilsteins have the piggyback reservoirs for better cooling. From what I understand the bilsteins are still stiffer because they need to handle more payload. I’m actually planning an offroading video with a buddy that has a 2023 pro. So we will put that to the test!
My TRD Sport bounces really bad on uneven cement poured freeways. Makes my stomach super woozy. How would I go about swapping in a SR5 shock into my sport? Or what shock would you recommend?
I would probably not go to an sr5 shock. To buy those new it’ll probably cost you a fortune. You would be way better off to get a nice suspension from king, Fox, or icon
I'm going with the Limited with the I-force max hybrid, cause that is the only Tacoma in the lineup that has a full time 4wd option. Gonna have to mod it to get rid of all the chrome accents.
lol yeah there’s a lot of chrome for sure! I have a video coming out tomorrow on the limited. The interior is sick! Did you know it has wood trim in the dash!?!? 😱I didn’t!
That’s a great question and the answer is kind of complicated. In 2020 they took the bilsteins out of the sport and went to a sport tuned toyota shock. We didn’t talk about the sport specifically at the training. But from what I understand it’s a little stiffer shock to improve on road handling. Kind of like the sport setting on the limited avs system. 👍
Regarding the Sport, are there shocks on all 4 wheels and is the front the same as the rear? If you wanted to soften the ride a little, which shock would do that but also retain some of the handling?
I think either one would be awesome for you. I am really impressed with the bilsteins tho. If you’re going to be doing a decent amount of driving on dirt roads, I think you would be better off with an OR👍
There are shocks on all 4 and they should be the same shock on all 4. I don’t have a ton of experience with aftermarket shocks. I have heard icons are a little softer but retain the most handling. I personally like a softer ride and done mind a little body roll. The bilsteins on my offroad have plenty of handling for me and are really good on the intermediate bumps and stuff.
Thank you! That is so weird. I had a video a little while ago that someone said it came out on the left side only. I wonder if there’s something wrong with my mics.
That’s what I have! I love it. Now that I went to that offroad training and actually learned about it, I’ve pushed my TRD a little more and it is really impressive!
WHICH SUSPENSION WOULD YOU PICK?
Honestly super helpful video, shocks are something I struggle to differentiate and that helped a ton!
Yes sir! Shocks are difficult for sure!
My SR5 has been great. Drive a lot on road and out on reservation on dirt and gravel roads and it’s awesome.
My last Tacoma was an sr5 and I rallied the heck out of that truck😂
Great content video!

Just the base SR for me, but those are nice looking shocks. Congratulations on 1,000 subscribers and now on to 10,000!
Thanks Norman! That’s the goal! Thank you for all your support!

thank you, going to stick with the limited strictly for the adaptive. I just need this to tow my toys to the lake and haul the kayaks on top!
The limited would be an awesome option for that! The Avs is nice. I really enjoy how it drives

Nice video, very helpful. What about the TRD sport?
Thank you! From what I understand the sport is just a toyota sport tuned shock.
Can I install the 2024 off road shocks on my 2013 Tacoma with a lift or leveling kit?

@@counterfeitcowboy1362 Thank you!
Check the air on your tires. Mine were near 50 on my sport and it felt bouncy. Once I went to 35, the ride was wayyy better.

Where would the TRD Sport suspension land?

@@counterfeitcowboy1362 appreciate the reply! I was looking to purchase a TRD sport but do you think the better long term but would be the OR?

Great that the fox shocks won’t get hot. It’s a shame that the transmission will.
What shocks do TRD sport plus come with?
The TRD sport has a sport tuned toyota shock
Awesome vid broski
Thank you brother ☝️
I could be wrong but by the looks of my trd sport it looks like it has the same shocks as the limited
Yeah. I did notice they look the same but I didn’t see the wire going into them. Might be a similar shock just without the adaptive part😂
@counterfeitcowboy1362 that's the limited luxury. Gotta pay extra for the wire if you want that on the sport lol
Gotta pay extra for the wire😂😂 is your sport a 24?
@@counterfeitcowboy1362 yeah
Awesome! They are such cool trucks. Is that your first Tacoma?
Hey bud your sound is messed up on headphones it mostly comes out of the right only
Thank you! That is so weird. I had a video a little while ago that someone said it came out on the left side only. I wonder if there’s something wrong with my mics.
I’m going with the trail hunter 😊
The trail hunter is sweet! I’m more of a pro guy.
Mag-lev suspension. Make it happen, Toyota.
Where's V6 upgrade guide?
lol haven’t figured that one out😂
Off road!
I was shocked how much better the bilsteins were than the sr5 shocks!
Just give me an off-road premium package
That’s what I have! I love it. Now that I went to that offroad training and actually learned about it, I’ve pushed my TRD a little more and it is really impressive!
I will take a pro🙌
Let’s do it! Matching pros!
The DSSV on the colorado zr2 is superior
