Thank you for doing this. I just got my TRD Off Road today. Driving it home 140 miles was frustrating and distracting. The salesman gave info, but I got lost shortly after he started pushing buttons and showing how things changed. Now I have a resource this 77 yr old can work thru and review as often as necessary!
My theory on it showing brake lights on the dash is it should show you if your brake lights are on during radar cruise control. There are times I wonder when my 3rd gen is braking if it's just engine braking or applying brakes as well.
I have a 21 Trd OR, I want a new one, but I’m trying to make myself wait until the 25’s come out. (Work out any bugs, let newness cool down, see how the hybrid is…)

I just got my new Tacoma 4x4, and I really wanted more information about how to set the parking brake. I read in the manual that you have to lift the P button till you hear a signal that it's been engaged. Can you demonstrate that on your next video?

The lights won't come on with the door open and the overhead rocker switch set to "door". Is there another way to get the overhead interior lights to come on when the door is open?

Can you help with customization of the center content display area also? My manual says (p.107) that there is option to see Map display, but in my car, I cannot see it and have no idea how to enable that option. Thanks again for your great work.
@@brianruperti There are three content display areas (left, right and center) in my Tacoma Limited 2024 12.3-inch multi-information display. You have explained how to customize left and right areas much better than it was in the manual, thank you again. I was asking about center area. My has only Blank, Driving support system information display, Settings display, Warning message display options, but no Map display option that was supposed to be available according to the manual.

Really good intro to all the features. I just bought this truck yesterday. Coming from a 2011 Ford Ranger, this thing feels like a spacecraft! I'm old school, so I'm inclined to disregard most of the bells and whistles. But honestly, I'm shelling out a ton of money on this truck. So I might as well take advantage of all the fancy stuff it has. It's all pretty cool, actually. But gone are the days when you could work on your vehicle yourself. There's no way I could fix anything in this vehicle without taking a class or something.
I thought that was a great video. Just haven't found how to adjust timer on bed lights while tail gate is open. Full time lights, my old 2013 Tacoma, lights would turn off soon as I open door. Turn on again once I start the truck. I'm android user, seeing Apple used and displayed. I think I'll change. Great video. My Toyota app I don't find great. It still shows my last Tundra trips that I no longer have. Not my new truck.
Do you have a problem with you TPMS when choose this option, mine will stay while driving, but many times the next day it will revert to what ever is next on the this. So annoying. So times even when I put in park it changes. Other times it stays where I want it. Sometimes I start the truck the next day and it is fine. The dealer is looking into it for me, 4 weeks and no response. So annoying. Does this happen with yours? Thank you and great video Brian

I just need information on the navigation. Why does it keep wanting to update and wants to send you a link to download app. I have the app installed on my android. It still wants a subscription which the dealer said comes with it for a year but somehow I'm not getting there. There is also a button for the screen to turn it on on the Sport model. Derkder

QUESTION: Do you think the TOW HAUL mode should be used with a heavy load full in the bed of the truck, such as firewood? Thanks so much for taking the time to put this together and share with us. Thank you!! I appreciate it. I think Tow Haul should definitely be used with heavy loads because to me that counts as hauling some heavy stuff! Here’s why: This mode will adjust the transmission shift points to improve torque, and will help control the load more (less shifting). It also will enhance engine braking, modify throttle response for hauling, enhance transmission cooling, and may even interact with the stability control to enhance handling with the load. My vote is 10/10 YES 😎
Still trying to figure out how to shut off the setting when I go over the yellow line AutoCorrect itself. I live in a state where there’s a lot of potholes.
I'm keeping the 3rd gen Tacoma 🛻💨 i tuned it with the OTT tune & that helped it big-time, mine is the manual transmission & it still helped out but if you have the auto & you have a problem with ⚙️ hunting + the truck feeling a bit too slow & lethargic that tune makes a big ass difference! I can rev the shit out of my engine now that I got it tuned, I can go up to 71 mph in 2nd⚙️ without even hitting the rev limiter!! haha
I think the red bars show when brakes as its part of the Driver Assist system. When the truck is actively braking on its own those lines show up, so they are an indicator for the driver that the assist is functioning.
Great video! I don't have the dual toolbar when using Android Auto. I need to go to the apps drawer and click toyota to get back to the home. Wish there was a button I can push to get back home quicker.

Thank you very much. In order to sync your garage door opener I would look into the user manual. The quick reference guide may even have a small section about pairing it with your individual garage set up.

The 2 brake lights on the dash actually show when the light bulb goes out, my driver side brake light already went out on my 24 taco and it would not light up on the dash, so nice little feature👌🏻👌🏻

Just traded in my 4x2 3rd gen for the 4th gen trd off road a few days ago. I've driven 4x4 vehicles before, but never owned one. This video was extremely helpful with explaining that big knob of different 4x4 controls next to the shifter.

The navigation and radio set up is very confusing, I got my phone linked and it was doing it automatically for 2 days, then it stopped and I couldn't figure out what I did but then it started working again.... doesn't this thing just come with its own navigation?

I was having trouble finding one at the local dealers. I am so pleased with my truck and am getting so many compliments on it. I am having trouble finding the right tonneau (tri-fold hard cover) as the dealers don't have it in stock yet. Any recommendations? I will never buy a vehicle without a power driver seat or dual climate control. Never ever. Especially for these prices. It sounds solid. Does it feel solid? I love how Toyota does the steering wheel buttons. They don’t fade or scratch except a little. The buttons on my 08 sequoia with 219800 miles still look new minus a tiny bit of scratches.
I respect that! It feels solid. The interior feels a bit plasticy competent to 3rd gen. Quite plasticy compared to a 4Runner. But it can be seen past. Yes I love that too! Yet a 1 year old German car is missing the paint it’s hilarious.
@@Ryan-cf6lc I have gone 350 on several tanks in city driving. When you reach zero on the estimator and it says in red Refuel! You have at least two gallons in the tank. I used trip A to track miles on each tank.

I hope not I think it's a pain and a problem. Besides that, turbo gets hot and need oil and air to be cooled. If the engines is off, that turbo won't last. @@brianruperti

Congrats! Your parts department should be able to access this part.
Red lines are helpfull when cruise or auto braking is on. Lets you know when the truck is breaking when you are not actively breaking. Great video

Pretty sure if you hold down the okay button on the steering wheel while on the trip you want to rest, it will reset it.

Brian, excellent tutorial. Thanks so much! Your video helped me figure out a few things that I was unsure about. I got lucky and was able to purchase my 2024 TRD off-road recently. I was having trouble finding one at the local dealers. I am so pleased with my truck and am getting so many compliments on it. I am having trouble finding the right tonneau (tri-fold hard cover) as the dealers don't have it in stock yet. Any recommendations? I will be watching all of your videos on the other features of the truck. You rock! Thanks again!

I will never buy a vehicle without a power driver seat or dual climate control. Never ever. Especially for these prices.

I love how Toyota does the steering wheel buttons. They don’t fade or scratch except a little. The buttons on my 08 sequoia with 219800 miles still look new minus a tiny bit of scratches.

It feels solid. The interior feels a bit plasticy competent to 3rd gen. Quite plasticy compared to a 4Runner. But it can be seen past.

@@Ryan-cf6lc I have gone 350 on several tanks in city driving. When you reach zero on the estimator and it says in red Refuel! You have at least two gallons in the tank. I used trip A to track miles on each tank.

Where is the Auto Start/Stop override button located?
Doesn’t have it I don’t think the truck has auto start stop
I hope not I think it's a pain and a problem. Besides that, turbo gets hot and need oil and air to be cooled. If the engines is off, that turbo won't last. @@brianruperti
