    Yes my 2024 tacoma TRD off-road tows so much better then my 3rd generation tacoma the V-6 3.5 was always running at very high rpms when towing my 2024 tacoma is smooth towing and low rpms and no gear shifting up and down trying to find the right gear like my 2018 tacoma

      Did you get the OTT tune? If you did, you would never have posted this. It’s a shame that we have to get a tune to make the truck perform like it should have from the factory, but…once you get it, it changes EVERYTHING in the gen 3

    • @MuscleAmerican
      @MuscleAmerican  Месяц назад +2

      @@rstumbaugh43 of course I got the OTT tune. Yes it makes a huge difference for the 3rd Gen but it doesn’t give you more gears and lot more low end torque like the 4th Gen.

    The owners manual says to use the manual trailer brake control slider to set the gain. You are supposed to squeeze it and set the gain to just below what would cause the trailer wheels to lock up when you’re moving forward at a reasonable speed. It seems a little confusing because I sure would not want to test it to the point with a trailers wheels locked up.

    I'm still enjoying my 06 but was totally curious about towing behaviors with the 4th gen. I'm not in the camp that a turbo 4 is useless, i welcome change and advances in technology. Just can't afford it. Lol having said that, i know i wouldn't use backup assist but it's a nice addition to those who don't tow often. Being a truck driver 20y I'm pretty seasoned at backing s trailer. I have s similar sized 21 coachmen clipper 17fq camper i tow. This was a great video. Thanx much

    WD hitches don't just redistribute the weight on the front axle. They put immense torque on your trailer too. When they are linked, the entire system (truck and trailer) experiences all the torque equally. That A frame on your trailer is a common failure point with WD hitches. So when you use the WD hitch, just be mindful that you are lifting up on your trailer as much as you are lifting the rear of the truck.

Do you also feel pretty comfortable with the single axle camper? I know they can be more prone to sway than a tandem, but i imagine your hitch helps a lot with that
