Very nice as always. It is great to see someone else that likes to preserve our childhood toys. That kind of quality will never be duplicated.Kids today do not have any idea how to have fun with just a couple little cars or trucks.
Hi Martin, once again you have done your magic with this Dinky truck. It looks fantastic. A while back I purchased one similar to your truck and they are a great little truck.Thank you for this video.
Wonderful job Martin. I love the 25s - amongst the first restorations I ever did. I've done a couple with box bodies - even stretched one to a six wheeler. Brilliant job on a personal favourite 👏👍
Another beautiful restoration, Martin. I so enjoy watching your channel. The video and sound were fine for me. No worries. I hope you're enjoying a lovely summer! From vacation in Austria - Andrew 🍁👍
Hi Martin wow what a transformation she turned out beautiful better than out of the box. I have one of those video projectors in the back room and have my laptop plugged into it your little wagon is 3 foot long on the wall lol so I can see all the great detail you put into these wonderful castings from the past. I love how you put sand in the back it really makes the revile special. I used my blow torch on the MG flywheel and it took a bit of doing but I got the ring gear off in one piece. It was only damaged on the side that the starter motor makes contact with so I decided to flip it around and put it on the other way. This was a bit more tricky than taking it off. I ended up putting the ring gear on the gas cook top and had two burners going on it and slowly moved it around for ten mins then rushed outside and quickly placed it onto the flywheel and blow me down it went on so that's ready to go back on. Just waiting for a new main rear seal from ebey to arrive and as a very wise man says it's assembly time lol. I hope I'm not boring you with these updates I thought it would have all been done and dusted by now it turns out I'm older than I look. stay safe buddy keep up the great work it really is the highlight of my week.👍
Not boring me Geoff, I can imagine you stood over the cooker slowly turning the ring gear 🤣🤣 good idea swapping it round . Glad you liked the truck, next week is an old dinky speaker van . All the best martin
Thanks very Malcolm, thay were very simple , I would imagine its had a lot kids playing with it ,just goes to prove that things were built to last. All the best martin
What a delight these old toys are: simple, well cast, well detailed and just terrific to look at. I guess they must be about 1:64, rather than 43 or 50. You have done a cracking job on it again, Martin! Superb!
Cheers Fraser, you would be right thay would come into that bracket, as you know dinky toys never really bothered much about scale .. All the best martin
Lovely little truck that one Martin and another excellent restoration, it really looks the part with the load in the back too. Your video quality is really good and the sound very clear, apart from your tablet probably getting in your way a bit, I reckon it works very well. Another excellent video👌👍😊 Best wishes to you and your good Lady, Nick.
Cheers nick ,iam pleased the video came out ok ,wasn't to sure because it's a big tablet and things were really close, it is a bit difficult to work around ,but it's a good back up for when my phone storage is full . Enjoy your Sunday. All the best martin
great little resto martin reminds me of something pop larkin would have driven i think you should call her ambrosia because devon knows how they make the paint so creamy . hope you and your good lady are keeping ok best regards ian.
@@martindaredare thanks for that Martin. A tipper is interesting. I see they do a fuel bowser & a covered wagon as well. Looks based on the flatbed with a cover. All of them pricey
Hi Martin, think you got the grill from the same place as I did, mine didn't fit either. Nice the way you did it respectfully. I did 1 with a large load on and the other empty. Take care stay safe.
Cheers bob , the grill took some doing there was a lot of crap in there ,but worth it in the end . It's good you have done a couple , thay are smart . Have a good weekend my friend
Another beautiful restoration Martin! It always amazes me that you make these toys look brand-new when you're finished! Would you be interested in a swap with me I'd love to get my hands on one of those dinky toys! We could swap for dinky toys for tootsietoys if you'd like!
Cheers Scott, no problem my friend when I get a couple of doubles when can do a swap. Drop me an email sometime with your address my email is in the about section on my RUclips channel. All the best martin
Hi Martin a nice model this week, wouldn't it be great to get the set. I see Stanleys ran off after leaving a Stingeroo on the mat. Best wishes from Ian & family.
Absolutely loved this restoration Martin, I love the old trucks and lorries, in fact all commercial vehicles, vans and of course farm models. I have a similar old lorry to this with the market gardeners body on the back. Your videos are brilliant, thanks for sharing. Just one question, what did you use to crimp the axles? Was it Vise-Grips? Best wishes. Peter.
Thanks very much Peter for those kind words. Re crimping the axles is a bit tricky I use an old pair of pincers with the edges ground flat then form the shape then tap it flat with a small hammer, I hope this makes sense, like I say its tricky. A lot of people put new axles in made out of softer materials. Have a great weekend. All the best martin
Hi matt ,the colour is from wilko thay have a good range of colours this one is i think is primrose yellow, you will definitely spot it . All the best martin 👍
Hi just found Ya, wonder if You could help with a couple of questions?, I've just bought an Austin wagon truck said to be No.412, now found out the 30s is exactly the same, mine, haven't got it yet, has no number underneath, it's worded dinky toys first then Austin different to the 30s, any ideas?, enjoyed your video btw, given Me a bit of inspiration, I've already ordered a grill and cover for mine!, Cheers, Stewart.
Hi stuart, this is what I know The 30j old number re numberd 412 was a non covered truck . The 30s re numbered 413 was a covered truck . The same vehicle but one had a cover . Thanks Martin for Your info, well informative, I'll look at mine a bit more closely when it arrives, I think it's pale blue, it's the original paint as You can see the bare metal where it's worn off, cheers again, all the best, Stewart.
