- Diecast Restoration Corgi Toys Rover 2000 trans o lite 1963/66 ,thus is for the paint it blue challenge on The D M C .
One regret was the poor window unit, witch I shall be replacing at a later date ,
Yet another amazing transformation lovely colour and great detail
Yet another masterclass from the man who can. Very informative and helpful glossy top coat and delicate detail work. It's a trans-olight transformation.👍
Very nice model, Dear Marty! Congratulations 👏👏👏

Nice Job as always I like the transalite models cool 👍
Great work Martin, nice Rover blue. Top marks as usual. The “Trans o lite” always fascinated me really a 1960’s cutting edge tech.
All the best my friend. Chris 👍🏼🇦🇺🏆🎺
Nice paint on that, Martin. Suits the car.
Hi mate great job as usual. Good tip there on how to take the wheels off, I've often struggled getting those little buggers off without bending the wire. Beautiful day here today 22 and sunny, I took the Mg for a spin to the beach pulled up under a pine tree and just chilled breathing in the nice fresh sea air.🤗 I got my Dremel out to do a job the other day, and it kept cutting on and off, so I held the cable so it worked but as soon as I touched the wire brush to the bit of metal I was trying to clean up. 💥"BANG" There was a big flash and the shed breaker blew. So I think the positive wire may have broke off and touched the earth or something.😫 Oh well at least I sill have my eyebrows.👁👁🤣🤣😂😂 Stay safe mate, catch you on the next one.👍🏻
Great job Martin, back in the day always wanted one, but never did, I used to take my bosses Rover 200 to the car wash for him.
Hi Martin another great job as always. You could gather all the trans-lights you have done and do one of them shorts with the lights showing. All the best from Ian b & the girls.
My brother had the 3500 and replaced the wings with fibreglass ones lovely resto pal
Great job Martin. Looks really lush. Love your fine detail skills. One of my favourite P6 blues was a Metallic one they did called zircon blue. Like you, loved the P6. When I went looking for one, the 3500 V8 was all you could find. Peeps offloading them cos they were way too thirsty
Great work on that one Martin, these are lovely models of great cars. Interesting to hear about yours. I remember the days of going to the scrapyard to get parts you needed. I dented the rear bumper on my first car, a Mk2 Ford Escort estate. I went to the scrapyard, got a replacement bumper and changed it outside the yard, 2 bolts, easy peasy. Left the old dented bumper there.
These Rovers are really nice cars. We had one briefly when I was a kid, great memories of it.
I'm currently looking to buy one myself. Hopefully, before too long, you will see a Rover P6 on my channel! Can't wait to get one, holding out for a really good one though.
Keep up the great work, I really enjoy watching your restoration videos. 👍
Thank you and all the diecast community for highlighting Altzheimers.
I lost my beloved mother to this terrible disease almost a year ago.
I really appreciate everything you guys are doing for the charity ❤
Your more than welcome Stephen, I'm sorry for your loss my friend 🧡
Shes lovely......very smart finish 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
I did one of these a couple of months back (there was a ton of space round my trans-o-lite too) and while I was sitting there, scratching my bum waiting for the caustic to do its stuff, I remembered the old Met Police blue Rovers with the single blue lamp and Mickey Mouse ears. They were 3.5s and differed in detail from the 2000, but I thought, why not? It came out not too shabby......
looks great, love the blue, it seems to glow a little. :)
bummer about that window unit, but they seem brittle around that opening. I have seen gaps and fissures around it on many castings that have been played with.
Nice resto,Martin.but the blue!looks like a Vauxhall colour.
Little ball of blu-tac on the end of a cocktail stick for picking up those rivets and positioning little fiddly bits.
We'll get the equipment out and straighten the pillar.....next shot it's fully painted 🤷🏼♂️ I was looking forward to seeing how you did that
Nice restore. I was hoping you're going to cut a sun roof into it, cheers Graham
Cracked glass or not, the car came out fine….
Can almost imagine me getting into it and driving away.
why not a blue closer to an original hue? Great job as always!
Hi
