That Hydraulic Tonka is really cool, I have a lot of Tonkas but never seen that one. I really like that camper trailer, really detailed and neat! Great bus buys. The James Bond car is sweet! Milk truck and Luna Bug are pretty unique toys, like those a lot! VW buses are some of my favorite vehicles. All great stuff and great video. 😎👍👍
Thanks marty, yes we have a lot of fun swapping and chatting when we meet up ,it's a great community as you know ,i suggestedwe need a tour bus and go on a world tour of the swap meets and meeting fellow. Diecasters
Loads of treasure again Martin, the Tonka Hydraulic Tipper Truck is a great find, I look forward to the restoration of the Spot-On Austin Healey and of course, being a farmer, the Corgi David Brown tractor. That low loader Model Kit looks like it's a Foden, that'll look fabulous when it's restored. Looking forward to loads more fantastic videos, take care and best wishes. Peter.
Thanks Peter, glad you like the selection this month, the low loader is definitely a mission. Yes it's been a while since I have done a tractor . All the best Martin
Brilliant video buddy as always! I particularly liked the foden white metal low loader. After one of them myself. Looking forward to seeing the next one. Take care and look after yourself.
Hi mate, I love those XK8s, they should come up a treat. What a wonderful diecast community you have in the UK, those special outings are a great idea not only to swap cars but also for a good old catch up and natter. There are sure a lot of generous people out there sending you some fantastic stuff, it's great how you can swap cars and know who to ask for different jobs and advice. I went to start the MGA the other day and normally when you turn the ignition on the fuel pump ticks like crazy for 5 seconds and then it stops when the carbs are full and ready to go. But this time the ticks slowed down but kept ticking. When I looked under the car there was petrol poring out of the carb overflow all over the floor. The needle and seat got stuck. I tried taping the carby bowls but it wouldn't budge. so I had to pull the carby float pots apart and unstick the needle and seat on one of the carbs, luckily the first one I checked. I'm getting to know this old engine quite well now and it's little problems that pop up from time to time. Stay safe mate and I'll catch you on the next one.👍🏻
Hi Geoff, yes it's a great community we have got ,and a good bunch of lads ,yes the petrol nver winter has gone a bit gunky, I take it you run it up 1 a week to keep things moving, I had a similar problem with my early mk1 xj6 that restored many moons ago ,glad you got it sorted ,. Enjoy yourself, I have just sold my big jag 3ltr turbo sport estate, last week ,so not sure where to go now 🤔, maybe a TR8 . All the best Martin
Some lovely models there Martin, that Tonka Hydraulic is super cool, never seen one of those before, I remember as a kid I had a pull back and let go tonka hatch back car and boy did it go when you let go lol, I used to play with it in the road outside the farm ( couldn’t do that now with so many cars around, in those days, late 60’s the road was so quiet) it used to go a heck of a way and very fast, I loved that toy and completely wore it out! Sounds like you had a great time and the stafford toy fair, I loved it when I went two or three years ago 😊👍🏻 Enjoy Dagfields when you go, We’re hoping to visit again in the beginning of december, it’s a great day out😊 you got a few more nice model Jags this time round, thanks for mentioning me and I need to go through my boxes of auction purchases to put together some models for your good self, I’ll bring them over in the car and post from Chester as it’s easier that way! Another enjoyable video, I’ve watched it 3 times lol, all the best, Nick🐸🐸🐸
Hi nick thanks very much, glad you enjoyed them ,the big tonka when I spotted it on ebay nobody really bid on it so I got it cheap ,and I was really pleased that it worked, you don't see many of them come up for sleep, can you remember what type of hatch back your one was ,so if I see one on my searches I can get it for you , yes my jag collection is starting to grow again witch is good ,iam looking forward to dagfeilds we are going early so we don't have to rush around . All the best Martin
Nice collection of vehicles Martin love that Tonka lorry never seen one of them before anyway keep up the good work always look forward to your video's take care 👍
Hi Martin. You showed some very interesting models in this episode. The Pontiac by Dinky drew special attention with its very interesting mechanism for extending the antennas, all the best from Poland
Hi Martin just watch the video to night you had a nice collection of model there . I specially likes the A Smith auto model low loader and the Foden tractor unit as well this is a truck I use to drive with a lowloader trailer on it . I do have some pics I will email them to you and you can see how the exhaust and air cleaner pipe goes I've been looking for one of them model for a while now so they are out there . Take care my friend. Ralph
Thanks very much Ralph, yes I received the photos, and I started to take it apart it didn't take much , and the glue wasn't that strong . Great pictures
Wonderful stuff there, Martin. I am not familiar with the hydraulic Tonka truck. It looks pretty neat though. That should clean up nicely. Already looking forward to next week's video. Cheers!
Another stormer, Martin: your house must be sinking under the weight! The TONKA Hydraulic is a delight. Tell us more about Mancave Models, please! There's a bit of work in the Commer Transporter, but it'll be satisfying to complete, as will the Kew Fargos: I think these were the first Corgis to use the steel spring and propshaft suspension design, followed by the Scammell and the big Ford. Could be wrong, of course! That red and cream Plaxton Coach looks as if it has been sitting next to a dead battery - the corrosion is so isolated to the back quarter. I reckon your crane driver should be Ronnie, after Ronnie Barker - fork handles? Four candles? I think I mentioned before: the VW Karmann Ghia, Renault Floride and Simca 1000 make a nice Corgi trio of European late-sixties rear engine two-doors, to sit together... Good insight on the weaknesses of the Dinky Cortina - one to watch for. I'll pass commenting on the smallies, though you cannot beat a '59 Impala, whatever the size! The swan-neck low loader is a task on its own - drill and pin? The Corgi T1 VW could be a complete convertible, with just a screen..? Another good and entertaining video, Martin: always something to learn from watching them through. Nice one!
Thanks, Fraser, the man cave models, is a little venture I'm hoping to do ,and that is to accumulate certain toys of days gone, which people can display in their man caves,as its becoming a popular thing at the moment, I have old triang train sets ,airfix scaletric sets various old tonka toys ,hopefully build a Web page to use as a selling platform early days yet . And also some diecast wall art . All the best Martin
Great vid again, and lovely stuff, mate come back from Stafford with some great toy soldiers which is our main hobby,at the moment though I'm repainting a dinky royal mail van to go with my 28mm scale doctor who London resistance fighters to game dalek invasion earth 2150,so really must go to Stafford as I'm after dinky army, chipperfield spares and any I had as a kid I lost over the years as its about an hour journey for me.
G'day to you, 22.17 Dinky Truck, had that one with Search Light 161a plus 152b 6 wheeler, had to sell them some 50 years ago, just Married and needed some Money at the time I thought I got a good price. Armadale West Aust.
Thanks Paul, yes I rember the ones with the search light on the back . Hard to get now unfortunately, but I will get one , the truck on the video was originally the r a f , blue one with a cover ,you can sea the blue underneath, so that's what iam going for on that one . All the best Martin
Nice load again martin ,the mini with the extra row of spotlights is from the monte carlo gift set it came with a rover and a citroen ,they are quite hard to find its a cracking set im still looking for a rover and mini
OK, thanks for the information, my friend, I do have the rover, which I restord some time OK, so I will be on the lookout for the citron. All the best, Martin
6:20 ah nice. most of these come without the soft top. either it gets lost, or kids preferred the open ones? probably the former. 17:35 there should be a lever pushing the lid up when you press the front down, if I recall right. 23:10 that's why they are called Carrimore, I guess? to carry more models inside the drawer? :) 24:20 the milk marketing machine. :) I caught one mint and boxed for cheap a while ago. the plastic still yellows, tho. 29:00 Matchbox recently released the same model in their "Moving Parts" series. I have to dig up and compare, but to me it looks they used this old casting's moulds for this. I wished tho, that they would have put more effort into the steerign wheel... 31:25 aww man, looks like even repainting can't save this model... good luck! nice collection of projects there. ^^
Hi Lothar, thanks for the interesting feed back ,always great to read your response, and it's always appreciated my friend. Iam on the hunt for the matchbox bigMx series, but it's taking a while to find one's at the right price. All the best Martin
