@@worthyland4104 Your right I missed that line, When he said the clutch was original, i just assumed that the engine was original also. They didn't make a 318 LA engine until 1967, it would have to be a 273..
As a die hard Chevy guy, I will ALWAYS have a soft spot in my heart for the Dodge 318. I had a '79 Cordoba with "Corinthian leather" when I was 22. Absolute creampuff and it blew my mind how it had more power and features than my then '98 Mazda protege. I loved that car man. Even on the coldest days a small shot of starting fluid and exactly two pumps on the peddle and she would instantly fire up. God I miss that car.
Its awesome how excited you get about little things like the mean sound the cutout mufflers make. It's great to see how much you love what you do brother. That makes it all worth it. I enjoyed the video, and as always I enjoy your channel, keep up the great content my dude!
"Neighbours will think it's gunfire!" I'm pretty sure your Neighbours would probably think "Dylan is out playing with a hopped up clunker again. Should we call a tow truck for him?" Seriously man, I loved this episode. Good Times:)
Really cool event, some beauty muscle there! Glad you pulled the Dart out of the weeds, deserves it imho. My pop's old sportsman van (318 4bbl) was scary as hell to drive but man it got up and went with a few friends in back for traction, man I miss the '70's sometimes :D (fwiw I managed only a couple of escapades in it, he was highly unimpressed with the tire condition, oil on the ground, rubber down the street, smells undefined... :D ) Love the Darts and that is worthy of a bit more work imho. Cheers to ya'll and the very best to come to ya in the new years!
My family and I would love to see you and Josh do a video together. Y'all have great personalities and we think it would be a great video. Besides y'all both have plenty of cars to choose from!😁👍👍
I really love this one. Keep it ratty, but bulletproof the driveline. It could be a beast on the track and the street. My dad had a 65 Dart when I was a kid, that's a dream car for me right there.
That's the way we always done it when I was growing up and we never once had a problem, I never heard of a clutch alignment tool until just a couple years ago.
As an old hot rodder that dart would make an awesome sleeper. The Polaris turning an 8.9 was pretty good for what it is now. Looking forward for more of these 2 cars.
Not even 2 seconds into the video and I already hit the like button. Of course, I saw the first Dart vid awhile back, just as I've watched every Dylan McCool episode on the channel. Good stuff, man!
The Red Rider Dart deserves some racing upgrades. Motor Mounts first, Exhaust with cut outs , Racing Clutch etec.318s are hard to kill. Had a friend with a 68 318 Cornet he put it on the Rev limiter for 3 miles in low gear it never blew up unbelievable. 😊😊😊😊
I owned a 1971, 340 duster with a four speed I had to Mr. gasket, vertigate shifter. When I first got the car for $900 I went through two clutches not understanding how to pull up the rings to get it into first back then it was pretty cheap. I see all the work involved and changing that out but the car was always a blast to drive. Shifting and the sound of the engine with headers and cherry bomb mufflers. It was pretty incredible. All I wanted to do is drive it. I had two younger brothers and they also enjoyed it. You brought back some good memories. Merry Christmas and happy new year.
I noticed you failed to mention the 8 3/4 Limited Slip in that car...The good part is All of those Driveline parts will fit right into a Baracuda of the same vintage years!
Those little Darts with V8's and four speeds are fun cars to drive! I just realized your 57 Plymouth looks just like the one Vic Morrow drove in The California Kid.
Love what you did with the Dart, and the police car never fails to please. One day I'll make it up to an event so I can meet y'all. Dylan is one of my favorites mostly because he doesn't flood RUclips with videos. But every one is a hoot! Dylan, you make this 62 year old car nut feel 20 years younger.
I enjoyed this episode so much. Didn’t even care y’all had some challenges because the fun & laughter you and your friends share is so contagious. I get real depressed this time of year. Thanks for the smile on my face Dylan. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Loved seeing you film going over the Tennessee river bridge aka Whitesburg bridge, into the great town of Laceys Spring Alabama. I live about 2 miles from that bridge. We watch every episode of Dylan McCool!! Love the shows.
I would love to see the upgrades it needs carburetor ignition timing adjustment. Definitely needs motor mounts clutch sorted and adjusted and fixed. It’s a ripper. Merry Christmas to you and your wife.
6:24 you can't complain about that starter dying. It's the first time a starter has ever stopped working in the most convenient place at the most convenient time. While working on it. At the shop. And already on the lift at that.
That 4 speed makes this car, with an automagical it would be boring. Sounds good, a lil nitrous always spices it up a bit! Fun times!!! All the best in 24' to the Mcool gang!!!
This Dart is like a sister to my ratty 65 Valiant. Had mild 318 that sounded just same, dual exhaust ending under car, 4 speed and 8 3/4 with suregrip. Even had exactly same 2 snorkel air cleaner! And I cooked stock clutch too...
Done the same thing to my 69 valiant, pushed the race bearing through the pressure plate fingers whilst giving it a hiding,it was always chewing up clutches and it was only a slant six. 👍🇭🇲
Those old small block chryslers can run pretty good. My brother had an old Dart swinger. Rusty AF. 318 2 barrel. Tire frying machine. Apparently they responded quite well to simple hop up parts. Something about the raised exhaust ports. They run hard on the cheap. Lol
A good body person could probably bring this car back to its former glory. I actually gave my stepson A 66 for his first car which was my bosses company car. It had the hemi slant six in it. A little humor.
I will always say these old beat to death cars will give you more fun playing around with than a big money car because no matter what happens you dont care other than having fun beating on it.
Excellent video Dylan :) , Brier :) also Dart and old Police car did super at work at race track! Surprise me on old orgnail clutch how survived and New clutch plate too how made difference to! Yes nitrous sure give that 318 V8 boost plus you did too updated on to engine !
Well I'm convinced, time to put nitrous on something 😂
Hey kevin! I love your videos too!!
lol put nitrous on 3wheeler. idk lmao but people here in finland put turbos on those 50-150cc honda monkey-type engines xD
Uh oh, snowmobile nitrous party??
@@beezlebub3955 imagine how bad that snowbank wreck on the way to the bar would have been, if nitrous was involved 😂😂😂
100 shot on a lawn mower
Man I love that Dart. I know it's too rough to restore but please make her solid again 🙏
same here
AMD should sponsor him to put floors in it
Like they did with Craig909 and his Galaxie
65 is my favorite of the early a bodies, but it's not worth restoring
@@Ikeebeabuchi Most of the car is still there. It needs work, but it's definitely worth restoring.
That little 318 is really snappy and runs great after having sat for so long.
IT should be a 273 unless it was swapped.
@ 23:12 says it's a 318 ✌️

Thanks for supporting a channel we love!
It's...Mery Christmas!!
Dylan I love when u get ur dad involved in ur videos u can tell he has lots of knowledge love ur videos
I think it’s time to let Briar do a burn out and have some fun 😉

Would be neat to see you do a FULL restore! I think you got it in ya 😊
Never underestimate the power of a 318 I had one In my 1967 Dodge D 200 . Great power with a 4 barrel Holley.
11:54 my favourite part. It happens to me so much...LOL. Don't worry , Dylan, it only gets worse from here on.
Merry Christmas, Mc Cool Family!
For such a basic little motor it sounds so crisp, great work!
Perfect sleeper
Clapped out early dart with gauges
Zip tied to the wiper arm . Can’t get any better . You need to keep this one.

I think tht little car deserves to be fixed, a early Dart with V8 is a rare piece. It could be a sweet little car.
Dylan my man you got me. See when your camera flipped off your dash I thought my phone started to mess up. Lol great work keep it up.
That green car looks rad though driving in front. But you did an awesome job. Love drive around videos, this was fun.
I love this Dart and what your doing with it.
That was some fun 😁 content, great little sleeper 😎. Thanks for taking us along. Happy Holidays 🎄.

65' Dart best grill look for all those Dart years. Love that police car...man very cool.
That bit at the end with the announcer is comedy gold! I owned a 65 Dart back in 88. Best $200 I ever spent!

i never really gave darts a second thought. but this one is awsome. that 318 sings. would surly make a really fun daily driver.
Dylan, you might want to think about restoring the car just a tad . Like floor pans maybe. Maybe metal work little bit to
Good afternoon Dylan! :)
Hope you and your loved ones have a very Merry Christmas 2023!!

love this thing. Patina and all. just love it.

Now that was fun thanks 😊👍👍 Looking good to love the sound of it 😁
