Regardless of bank account, no one likes getting ripped off. The tires on this car are unreliable, 21 inch low profile run flats with very little sidewall. Lexus replaces (never repairs) these highly expensive tires after a flat. The car is also much too wide. Parking in shopping centers is difficult, and the car will end up uncomfortably close to adjacent parked vehicles. Who needs worry after shelling out over 100k?
It's a car and it's meant to drive and enjoy. Why else would you buy it? There isn't a car made on this planet that will be any more reliable than the LC. The cost of ownership for the first 200,000 miles will most likely be routine maintenance and that's it. As for buying tires every year, WTF? That's on you. I've had mine for six years and love it! Drive safely and sanely without abusing the car and you won't have any problems.
my oil change was $120 at the dealer, owning it in US is great. Insurance is high because of it's a V8, other than that doesn't cost me anything other than gas during my first 3 years.

LC 500h owner here, great video to hear about your experience. The Tyres caught me off guard as I didnt expect a 21" tyre to cost nearly double a 20" off my previous car
Highly reliable vehicle with highly unreliable, expensive tires. Enormous 21 inch low profile run flats are the worst of all worlds. Hit a pothole on a car this heavy, both the tire and the rim are likely to need replacement. Lifespan of the tire is no more than 12k miles if driven as a performance vehicle.

In my humble opinion, when you buy high end luxury cars, you have to take into consideration cost on all fronts. If you’re concerned about depreciation, putting on “too” many miles than don’t buy one or get/or have a daily driver on the side. All cars depreciate over time for the most part, some more than others. Maintenance, well that goes with the territory. Lastly, who cares about attention. So, it is not the LC, it was you not . fully taking consideration all factors.

Expensive toys come with expensive costs. Doesn’t matter which platform it is. I owned a 2020 Supra and put 120,000 miles on it. I drove it everyday out of pure joy. It came with costs. maintenance costs on ALL cars have just gone up considerably over the last few years. I actually just put a deposit down on a 2025 LC500 and can’t wait to get it, but it will be something I don’t put as many miles on it as I did the Supra. You’re right, a small two seater is not a good every day car, but it’s great for long road trips if you have to cover longgggg distances (which I do every year.) I think every potential owner should always consider ownership costs because they can be ridiculous. But the cars can be worth it, if you can afford it, and truly enjoy every mile you lay down as an enthusiast. I will largely keep my LC garaged when I get it, and save it for those longer distances. I have a 200 series Land Cruiser that’s much better suited for the everyday life. But it sure is nice to have a beautiful stallion in the stables for when you want it. Glad you got to enjoy it. Probably best you get out from underneath it while you still have some decent value in it. I myself definitely plan on putting 300,000+ miles on my LC but I definitely think I’m going to take my time on this one when I get it. I love that it actually has a Toyota powerplant in it, which will make me want to keep it longer than I did the Supra with its BMW engine and electronics…. I can't do at 40 USD cause it voids 10 year warranty, all history must be with lexus :) i'm driivng like a normal person + some fun, but rear tires have 2-3 mm of protector left at the end of the season, so while legal limit is 1-2 mm, at the end you already feel far too much wheel spin, with 4S Michelins that is
You could keep this car for 20+ years and get the maximum use out of it. It's a Lexus/Toyota it will be so reliable beyond the warranty. Early 90s Lexus SC400 cars are 30+ years old now and with basic maintenance/repairs are still going strong. The LC500 successor will be much the same.
i’m surprised. i work at toyota (not lexus) but we have some of the lowest maintenance costs of any car brand. i know lexus is the new features (inevitably less reliable) that feed into toyota 3-5ish years after, but i would still expect better reliability from the luxury toyota
To be honest, this car doesn’t depreciate in value by a lot like those M series or R8s! In Canada one of my friend bought this car for $65k (usd) 2018 model. That car was originally priced at $75k in the year 2018. My friend got this car in 2024! After 6 years the car lost only $10k in value! That’s crazy!
If you live in a winter snow/ice environment, I understand RWD isn't ideal. If I couldn't drive without worry of being stranded, I'd get something else too. Otherwise, your cost of ownership is peanuts. If an oil change is painful at $120, then change yourself in the garage. I haven't been or seen snow or ice in more than 40 years and I couldn't happier about that.
475 euros for an oil change? LOL My Lexus dealer charges me $140 for an oil change on mine. Also you change tires every year? That's insane. I've had my LC for a few years and the tires are still in great shape. I consider myself an aggressive driver, but I'm not spinning tires and trying to peel out all the time. Sounds to me like your dealer is ripping you off because you're allowing it. Your insurance is also high, but I'm in the States so maybe it's just cheaper over here. I own 3 cars in South Florida outright with varying levels of coverage and deductibles and I pay about $3800 a year for all of them. So far I've had zero issues with my LC500 and hopefully it will stay that way.
It's not just oil change but a yearly maintenance cost / service, the prices are in line pretty much with the entire country to be fair, porsche is more expensive, vw/audi is similar
I would like to see a true Japanese super car something in that 900 horsepower range. This one is nice but maybe not full filling for you. I drive an old tundra and a 73 firebird resto mod.
I don't even like the LC but bro. It sounds like you bought the car because of hype. You don't even like it. Then spent the whole video whining. Also, it's a 100,000 GT sports car. It's a luxury good and you're complaining of maintenance costs and tires?! Sounds like you couldn't afford this car.
I still don’t understand this video, I was thinking you will show some issue with the car but you only talk about your issues with the car, I’m the owner of a 2018 LC, and came from an Audi S5, Maintenance cost is almost the same. Sorry to hear you can’t afford the maintenance cost of the LC. If you still want s reliable car get a toyota corolla that’s and excellent car with a very low maintenance cost. God bless.
💯 agreeing on waiting for the deprecation. The U.S. economy is getting really bad and we are already seeing 2018 LC dropping to 60k, probably it will drop to 50k next year.
This is why I NEVER buy new food. It depreciates so fast. After a week it’s literally worth sh*t. Food is a depreciating asset and you should only dumpsters dive
Strangest video ever. I like to stomp on it. Gas and tires killing me. I got into an accident, my insurance is expensive. Bruh? U clearly couldn’t afford the car in the first place and bad decisions and driving was the rest. I’m in second year of owning 23. No issues w tires…no crashes. I get either 13 mpg or 28ish depending on my driving mood. That’s on me and I knew that going in. U don’t think the story’s the same for any higher end car? Good luck.

Ha! Well, most comments say I can't afford it so no one knows who is right
I don't even like the LC but bro. It sounds like you bought the car because of hype. You don't even like it. Then spent the whole video whining. Also, it's a 100,000 GT sports car. It's a luxury good and you're complaining of maintenance costs and tires?! Sounds like you couldn't afford this car.
Get to the point man!!!!
Buy Cadillac Lincoln better
One day, the price of LC500 will match the current price of SC430.
@@ngf5077That is some pretty mean sarcasm. 😊
Good luck.
You have confirmed all of my fears😢
same for any luxury car
Well! They do Say Lexus is a Japanese Rolls Royce so dont Think about the Costs Because German Cars cost you a lot more
Do yourself a favor: Stop buying luxury cars and purchase a Subaru Outback.
If you are going to worry about the car so much, you should get a bicycle....wait it may get scratched. SMH
I’ll buy it.
How are you spending 600 euro on each tire?!
I am £400 a tyre for the bridgestones
21 inches, premium winter tires will do that to you
Nonsense. Buy a horse and cart
What on earth are you doing do your tyres... driving on volcanic rock?
Sounds like you bought the wrong car. why is this video so long
Gremlin laughing in the backseat at 11:16.
Don't buy cars you are not comfortable to drive for your lifestyle and can't afford guys
Daydream may be this guy he don't know what he talking about sorry
Premium gas kills it for me. An extra $ 1 a gallon.
ummm yeah. you definitely cant afford this. 😂
Damn you’ve spent a lot more on your LC500 than I have on my R8… And I customised it a lot haha
Haha! Half of the cost is really just tires due to RWD and insurance!
Lexus not being lexus
Pretty sure owning an aston or jaguar f type will be cheaper than the LC :)....or a nissan GTR35.
hahahahaha
You shpuld buy es 360 hybrid
nobody owns a lexus lc500 as their sole daily driver, if you want a daily get a 2015 rcf
Are you saying that I don't exist?
Thompson Deborah Rodriguez Jennifer Davis Daniel
Just a long big Whhhhhhiiiinnnneeee
Wah
Yea… I’m sick of all the RUclipsrs feeding off each other, overrating this overpriced piece of crap. Would never ever buy one. I ain’t stupid.
Not to worry, you can’t afford it anyway. Take the bus. 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
I can afford 10 of these but I’m still going to buy a Chevy. Chevy, Ford and Dodge/Jeep make the best SUV / trucks.
Clown comment right here lol
@@Now_or_Never_777umm. yeah……when you mentioned Chevy, just take an L.
