Who wants to see a LC500 vs GTR and C7 Z06 comparison video? Features , build quality, performance, etc… ???
This would be a good video that would benefit those who are trying to choose between 3 very different cars.
This video would be good to know about maintenance cost between them.
My buddy has a 2017 GTR. Great comparison between my 2018 LC.
Do it
I know the R&D is crazy expensive for carb legal performance parts. However, I honestly believe that companies like Magnuson missed a golden opportunity with Toyota/Lexus vehicles. They would have made a killing with a SC Kit since many vehicles share engine platforms. The Magnuson SC KIT for the 5.7 Tundra is still a sought after kit that is carb legal
Track pad isn't bad at all. When these people review this car they can't find anything wrong wit it, so they have to bitch about something. I do wish it had a front camera.
The 2024 doesn’t have it anymore. Which is why I’m buying a used one. I have zero problems using the touch pad
Front camera would be helpful. Wifes titan has 360 overhead view... also would be nice
@@robertsanssouci2093 touchpad is fine... i like dash much better w cleaner look
💯💯
@@robertsanssouci2093 the 2024 touchscreen looks a mess inside that car- track pad all day over that. it's not a big deal to use and you barely need it anyway. it should have a front camera, which you can aftermarket tho. just back into spots to be safe. Lexus' 360 view even on their new stuff is the old style 360 fisheye lens view and it looks like total shit
The LC is scattered all over Florida, especially the convertible as you would imagine. I currently own the RCF, a little bit lighter and faster than the LC. Seems like now the RCF is more rare than the LC in my area. Eventually, I'll get an LC because it's just a work of art.
The difference in speed between the LC and RC F isn't noticeable though- that's really splitting hairs. the RCF is held back by a mediocre transmission that, for a performance car, is sluggish and hunts for gears on turn in at speed. The transmission in the LC feels vastly better and SHOULD have been put in the RCF- it's as close to a DCT as you can get without being one. I'd have an RC F parked next to my LC if it wasn't for that transmission. The ride quality and exhaust note is noticeably better in the LC as well. Not trying to knock the RCF btw- I like their looks inside and out (especially the retro interior I love), but for a car that's supposed to be more sporty it isn't very focused; you get the stiffer ride but lack the associated gear handling. Still, I go back and forth with wanting to get one (or an IS500).
Bro how are you seeing so many LCs in public 😭 I’ve only seen 3 in real life lol
😂 Everytime I drive out to North Dallas I see a few. It’s like unicorn spotting. Haha
But…. I’ve never seen another LC with any mods in person. They are always stock.
I am on my way to Houston to pick up my 2024 LC500 Inspiration series convertible (polar white satin w/deep blue interior) . Maybe you'll see my unicorn. 😊
Toyota headquarters. They’re employee cars.
Been living in europe for 3 years and just saw ine yesterday... -_- in north america they are also extremely rare. Gotta say its a classy fucken whip in person. Not too much a fan of the japs (imo bang for buck the germans slap them to shit) but this thing is something else.😮💨
Car is perfection and never needs junk mods put on art work ! Enjoy as I do with mine ❤
You’re right, as an owner we tend to like the trac pad. The issue is it takes some getting used to. A day review isn’t going to get u there, hence the bad press.
Same thing! I don't park my LC next to anyone. I park way out and walk!
Had a convertible flying right up my rear end a while ago.
Those brakes are outstanding 👌
I think I can get used to the track pad, especially once I get used to where stuff is
It sounds to me like just about all of your negative issues were caused by you. Why didn’t you just leave the car alone the way the Lexus engineers designed it? Every change you made affected the entire car. Lexus engineered this car to work with the computer system. By changing the wheels, you affected the suspension geometry and the car feels when you drive it. If you start monkeying around with the engine, trying to get more power, you’re going to further affect how the car performs. This car was designed by experts and even though it’s your car, if you would just leave it alone, it would serve you well. As for the trackpad, why don’t you read the owners manual? Find the section on voice command and you will sell them. Need to use the trackpad at all. Try to remember this entire car is an integrated package designed to work as perfectly as possible, as it comes from the factory. Once you start modifying the car, unexpected results can, and often do happen. That isn’t Lexus’s fault. That is your fault. One last thing, if you would run through the set up program on your infotainment system, you can set the sensors so that, you really don’t need a front camera. They will sense curbs, posts and any other object. By lowering the car, you threw that system off completely. It’s your car. Do whatever you want. Just remember, the people at Lexus tried to make the very best carpossible.
Oh where do I begin? Oh boy.. The tie rod issue was found before the car was lowered. Easy fix so no worries. I actually like the track pad, but that sultry voice command probably won’t work for me as I’m screaming that V8 greatness. Ever heard of Kuhl? Liberty Walk? Both massive Japanese brands who have taken the LC to crazy limits. Akira Nakai from RWB? The work he does to Germany’s arguably best brand…Porsche? But thank you for the comment. The LC is amazing and I think we can both agree on that. 🙏
@@Magmade_ if you had any engineering background or experience whatsoever, you would realize how out of your element you truly are. The commenter you replied to is absolutely correct. Cars are precisely engineered from top to bottom. If you think aftermarket parts and modifications will “improve” anything, then God bless you, man.
There are only 12k LC500s out there. Compare that to the 150k c8s
The C8 is a headache, unfortunately. I wish they'd have stayed true to the front engine format.
Are there any LC Clubs or meet ups in the DFW area? I am literally watching your video while on a plane to Houston to pick up my 2024 LC 500 covertible Inspiration Series. Only 1 of 125 and only one of fewer convertibles - no track pad. Lol
I think I'm in love.
Thank you for the vid and insight.
Thank you! I don’t believe there is, but that needs to change. I might have to start one. Haha
Btw… congratulations on your new LC!
@@Magmade_ right! we might need to be the founding members.
@@Magmade_ thank you.
Appreciate the video. I am looking for a daily driving car and considering the LC. Wasn't sure about used vs 2024.
Would also like to learn more about the cost of lowering and other mods. And how you chose your aftermarket mods, etc.
@@thomaslee6079 absolutely. Some of my earlier videos discuss those topics. Thank you for watching! More coming!

This car with a carb legal supercharger is a must. I definitely would get one
About to buy a 2018 LC myself. What wheels and suspension are you running? Great video
22” Ferrada FR4’s and RSR drop springs.
I keep hearing the 2018 models should be avoided and the 2020+ models are more refined. Would love to hear opinions from all in this topic
@@MM718-s4x I don’t see anything to avoid on a 2018. It’s been nothing but great.
@@Magmade_ Thanks for the feedback! I'm debating between a used LC or a much newer IS500.
More LC500 build. I am deciding between GTR and LC so I appreciate when u mention GTRs but your vids help me lean towards the LC, which is what my brain wants me to buy...(price reliability luxury)
I’ll make a side by side and driving experience video with the LC and GTR.
New edition has the 360 camera. Voice command if you don't use the track pad. Performance air filters?
Yes. I should. So I shall
A small piece of electrician tape over the TPS light is a cheap fix.
Maybe pull out the TPS fuse?
Bruh we gotta work on your content I love the LC there’s a lot more you could go over. Love the openness but as a fellow Texas and Dallas resident we gotta see more in depth review. Also there’s a RCF supercharged out there it can be done. There wasn’t turbo kits for a lot of things until you are the first!
Where in dallas do you see these LCs. Ive only seen one other LC since owning mine 6 months ago
There is no comparison to make. Concerning the LC500 Tuning, ask TJ HUNT. But i think that would be compromising the reliability and the soûl of the car.
More of your LC 500 build, thanks
I have had two convertibles. I really didn't like either of them. The lines of hardtops are much better. I've been told convertibles are to be driven with the top down. Tell me that in January. The LC500 is a really nice looking car. It's dependable. It's relatively inexpensive to repair. You need faster, go buy a jet.
Lc is my dream car but its far from reachable for me. I could afford an old isf now. Or maybe an rcf in few years. But idk if i will be able to afford an lc in my life
I used to say the same thing. Just keep pushing yourself.
I just saw one with 56k miles for $59k. In a few years i bet you might be able to find a high mileage in the $40k range.
I saw one in a trailer park a few months ago. The guy was locked up for some reason. We wonder why he had a lot of company all the time.
The part where you park far away from others...I do the same with my GT350. I get so paranoid. I have a Lexus ES as a daily and it feels so much easier on my nerves to park anywhere.
I feel ya. Haha
I don't park near anyone with my 2004 f150. I, too, don't like dents or scratches.
Curious how much harsher the ride is with the lowering springs?
It’s hard to tell since I put the wheels and springs on at about the same time. Definitely noticeably rougher but not bad.
I took mine to the dealership to have the aftermarket tpms calibrated on my aftermarket rims.
Which lowering spring did you go with? RSR?
RSR Down Springs
Go to settings and reset the TEMP,might work .
Is there a way to Supercharge the engine on LC500???
trust me, you don't want the is500. I just bought a brand new is500 2024, drove for a month and traded in for an LC500. You just can't compare these two. The is500 is super floaty, unstable, and unconfident on winding road, which is a shame. It drives like a luxury family sedan. Heck, even the bmw 340i rides a lot more planted. The steering is also awful. Seat not as good as LC either. The LC is solid, feels much like my 2019 Panamera turbo when it comes to chassis feel/handling. I would probably get a GR86 or something more track focused to play with long with the LC if I were you. And an SUV to haul ppl/stuff around.
Does your seat belt strap work?
Yes it does.
Where is the best place in DFW to get the chrome deleted?
Lc500 get yourself intake exhaust and tune easy 30+ HP my guy
Any proof of this?
And ruin the car. No thanks.
I got a handicap plate so I’m all set to get this lol. Best parking ever 😂
I’m going back and fourth with either a lc or a gtr . I already owned a gtr but for a daily I think lc is way better . But I’m stuck on both currently
The LC as a daily is really nice.
Same dilemma. My brain wants the LC, but my heart wants the GTR.
@@Magmade_ quick question besides the suspension issue you have would you buy a lc500 2017 lc 15k miles full trd aero and trd rims for 52k with no warranty ? Or if you had an option for warranty would you get it . Thank you
@@lmmedia35 52k is very cheap! I would make sure the title is clean. If you like the rim and aero then thats a great deal. I personally bought the best deal LC I could find at the time with 20" wheels because I knew my plan for this car before I bought it. Check the CarFax. If it has good history then I would not be worried about the warranty. Mine was a one owner, full maintenance history so I bought mine out of warranty. Its a Lexus.. it will last forever!
@@Magmade_ I’m in Japan so currently they are really cheap cause the yen rate . They are clens title and performance s package . I’m thinking the same I heard the 20 ride better
You could of bought a performance strut way cheaper and just replaced all 4, you pay $170 for an old change you definitely NOT A CAR GUY. You can change your oil in 15 minutes you can't drive to the dealership in 15 min besides waiting around or even if the give you a loaner it still is longer then 15 minutes, you need to learn how to source parts and wrench on them
@@jamesharding6183 I could change my own oil if I wanted to. I’m an extremely busy person so I choose to have it done. It’s not that I don’t know how to. The LC has adaptive struts. You don’t put just any strut from autozone on this car.
These cars will be worth 250k plus within the next 20 years. It is the last breed of a dying generation
Supercharge, turbocharged or even nitrous it is what I like to see it.
There is currently not supercharger or turbo available for the LC… but nitrous? 🤔

Love this car
A manual and more useful backseats and I’d buy this car. Looks like I’ll stick w the 911
The front of bmw looks lame now. Is500 is way better than that junk. Also holds value better.
As a PhD in Computer Engineering, my wife and I are finished acquiring the latest cars. We are content with our forever cars: a 2021 Silver AWD Lexus LS 500 (wife's daily driver), a 2020 Army green 4Runner TRD PRO (long-distance trips with the dogs), a 2016 3" lifted blue-pearl TRD Sport Tacoma with a 6' bed with over-sized K02's 4x4 tires (my daily driver) with a custom "barbed-wired" headache rack, and our emerald green 2013 MR2 Convertible (1/2-1 day trips---you can't fit much luggage or souvenirs in a 2 seater). I do minor maintenance---oil changes, replacing oil and air filters, checking the liquids, etc, on all the cars. We are a Toyota family for two reasons: their cars are reliable and have no-frills technology. We considered buying an LC but already have a 2-seater for weekend getaways.
NO because of the trackpad pre 2024 model
Call your insurance before you make that purchase.
Nice you from Dallas too
Yessir!
IS500 is badass
hand holding the camera while you interview yourself while driving down a public road is a bad idea
I understand your concern and I can assure you my eyes are on the road. I mix my mounted GoPro and handheld shots. Im extremely careful with my driving and vigilant of my surroundings. Unfortunately I pass more people with heads down and staring down at their phones on daily basis. That pisses me off.
Back in. Never scrape your nose again
add a supercharger
@@nicoeffem3483 when one comes out that is a strong probability.
Should had bought a GTR
Put a supercharger
