First thing I noticed was impressively-sized lounge windows - for the age; it's surprisingly light in there. Unsurprisingly cabin windows are small, but they tended to be on A-class ocean yachts in that era - the tech has advanced over the decades, but they do appear to be relatively large for _opening_ portholes though. The four bunks is very useful for "storing children" without using up proper berths (evil laugh). Fully aft docking stations are also useful for helping fishermen for trolling, it seems like the Japanese guy was a fisherman too by his notes. Great boat, great story.
Always watching your posts. They are all very well done and much appreciated. Only chip in occasionally 😁 Look forward to connecting live for a pint one day. Cheers Henry
WOW, that looks brand new!!! Everywhere! As a buyer, you'd want to get on with the captain, as I'd hate to separate him from his vessel! 🤣 Nice exposé of this one again David.

Beautiful American classic yacht. David your presentations keep getting better in each video! BTW... nice Ulysse Nardin diver chronograph on the wrist 😉
This boat oozes class out of every pore. Class is so rare today in a yacht. It used to be common. Now most super yachts look like a cross between a running shoe and an electric toothbrush. What went wrong?
Very nice overall, but I think perhaps a little underpowered. I recognize that's great for longevity as well as cruise distance - but 1500 hp just doesn't seem adequate for a vessel of this size.
@@garydavenport3684 8 knots is typical for a displacement cruising, that it can chug along at 12 is impressive; to go much beyond that starts to require _exponentially_ more fuel and hp.
Have to agree, a very lovely boat. Would have been nice to see 1 more crew cabin for a senior crew and the access from the water is ok if you are young & fit not so much if you're old & fat. lol. Cruising of 4,000nm @ 12nts is great.
David, as a former Marine Carpenter back in the '90s working for teak decking systems out of Sarasota, I was always in awe of the designs of the high-end yachts coming out at that time. They always reminded me of a private resort or golf club with their layout and materials used. It's reminiscent of sitting in a clubhouse having your cocktails and ordering a high-end meal. Wonderful presentation of a jewel.
What a beautiful lady she is indeed. David, you always impress me with your choices of content. The yachts you showcase are among of the nicest that can be found. It shouldn't be overlooked that your knowledge built over the years is a benefit you freely give in each video. Well Done Sir. Hello from St. Louis Missouri USA
Hi David. I feel your enthusiasm whilst describing this beauty. Same Captain15 years with loads of history. In immaculate condition and a truly world traveller. Awesome video thanks 😊
David, you should have a warning at the beginning of this video. I was drooling through most of this. If you would only WARN me, I could have had a small towel at the ready. [Snerk] Beautiful ship and mind-blowing presentation.
Little wonder the captain has stayed with the yacht for 15 years those crew quarters are amongst the best I’ve seen, the captain’s cabin is without doubt the best I’ve ever seen. Lovely older well maintained yacht with a little bit of updating would be a very attractive prospect.
I normally don't like the American obsession with wood everywhere. This ship suits it though. It looks magnificent and it's cruising capabilities are brilliant. Can I afford it? Not sure, Alaska.
lovely boat BUT that cockpit looks about 8 to 10 feet which now makes this boat a 105 foot.. the swim platform is fine, i had stainless rails around my swim platform, useful for boarding from a dinghy and diving to free some crab pot line from your props.. 🙂
It appears a great ship in amazing condition, but a 33-year-old composite hull? Cracking? Shrinking? You are a couple of years beyond the end of the MTBF for that material - even though it was built with entirely highest quality fiber and resin no doubt. Not knowing any more than what I've heard, how real or big are those concerns? Perhaps there is nothing to worry about at all - in fairness. Just curious - and not to undermine confidence in what looks like a terrific cruiser.
Great value for the money. An older but lovingly cared for boat. I love the whole "look" of this lady. Beautiful woodwork. That chart would be great to find the best fishing and crabbing spots along the Alaska coast. Classy presentation as always David.
4000 nm range?! That's very impressive for a yacht of that size. I'm just guessing but to achieve 4000 nm, the cruising speed would be about 8 knots per hour?
beautiful yacht. the problem is that people with super yacht money like to follow current trends. this yacht has a timeless appeal and will never truly go out of style.
what a lovely yacht and story. This is so much better than the overdecorated ego-fueled versions. The master suite is very modest and yet comfortable. They put space and luxury where it mattered (like the family style kitchen with table). It may need some updating, but I think it's beautiful just as it is.
Nice. I was especially interested in what you said about chartering the boat when we are not using it. That would make it so much more affordable. Details? WHat are the economics of doing this?
I live the way you and the video crew did this production. Very personalized from the captains prospective. The lighting was great also. Use of the sun and shadows to help with the transition! Only bad thing in the video was the mic rubbing and that’s me being picky! Love the work you all do! You can tell you all take a lot of time and planning on these. Coming from a guy who shoots yachts ! I really appreciate the effort you all do and always look forward to seeing what’s next!!!
This is before Chirstensen got those very awkward looking hulls with those odd chines high on the bow - those are ugly. This is a good looking boat with very good bones for a light-touch interior refit.
Lovely boat at a reasonable price. Having cruised North from Seattle many times I totally understand the attraction. Absolutely ideal cruising grounds and this looks like an ideal boat to do it on!
I've enjoyed your tours for over a year now and find I wasn't Subscribed by RUclips error. Please check your status viewers.TY.That's a wonderful ship, and great stories to go with it.I would love to be the next steward of it as long as I could.
I think the Captain would be very disappointed if I purchased this yacht. I would have no intention of going to Alaska. The Bahamas and South Florida are much more my speed.
The Cap might be interested in a chance of scenery. That said you might be a bit better off with a large power catamaran, lots of shallow bays and channels that catamarans can get into that yachts and superyachts can't.
Beautiful lines...sweet and charming. I used to have 55 ft Stephes. Teak and gorgeous "Summer Place" was her name. Newport Beach and Balboa Bay Club. Great life when it was.
Well, I was going to say "Juneau is not an island" but I looked it up, and the 4 acre island that is now part of the breakwater at Douglas Harbor used to be an island and for about 10 years starting in the 1800's it was called "juneau island."
Would be a great yacht for charter, but...................how many hours do these engines have ? With so much extensive traveling the engines must have used up a lot of their life time. Any info about the remaining hours before overhaul ?
Well I love your videos but this boat is really dated the bathrooms kitchen just an example the bed one queen somebody sleeping up against the sign Hass to crawl over to get out of the bed you’re very positive but my opinion this boat is at work 2995 lower the price of
Usually dont like the old dark wooden interiors... this here is another level. Very stylish, very nice!
Beautiful boat and beautifully shown!

True American cruiser, that has been lived in and loved. Books everywhere, and real honest maps. Tells you all you need to know really 😊
Spot on. What a wonderful yacht, with a wonderful story!
I do like the larger, older yachts. Thanks for the video!

It's a beautiful boat, well done, wish I was motoring it now.
That’s the coziest bunk bed room I’ve ever seen.
That seating and sport deck are lovely. And you said "salon" and not "saloon!"
I love this yacht, why don’t more manufacturers provide bunk beads!
Real class
Thanks!
Absolutely sublime! Once again you’ve made a yacht into a person.
This boat oozes class out of every pore. Class is so rare today in a yacht. It used to be common. Now most super yachts look like a cross between a running shoe and an electric toothbrush. What went wrong?
It looks like a nice yacht, but the "walk through" was so fragmented that I had a difficult time trying to figure out what was where.
Very nice overall, but I think perhaps a little underpowered. I recognize that's great for longevity as well as cruise distance - but 1500 hp just doesn't seem adequate for a vessel of this size.
It's a full displacement hull, if anything 1500 hp is over-engineered for the size.
@@darthkek1953 in my mind I just think 12 kts cruising is a little slow. I do understand the philosophy, thanks for your kind and knowledgeable reply

Not at all surprised the captain has stayed with this beautiful yacht for 15 years. Wishing him many more incredible voyages with his new owner.
Low cost, low maintenance, happy captain and ‘proven’ ability ......what’s not to like! 👏

Thanks David - very much appreciated.
Very nice David, the older yachts are so regal in the water, she has an impressive range and great value for money.

The price is reasonable but the ongoings are horrendous.

Substance over style. Oh no, hold on, she's stylish too :)

I just watched this video on my TV, to experience it better. The vids are just so good! So many small things, that make it that way.
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear it looks good on a larger screen!
Lovely boat , I can think of many "wanna be" RUclips boat tourers that could learn a lot from your presentations :)
This yacht is a bargain at under three million compared to new yachts in this range. While the styling is clearly from another era it looks brand new.
Very cool yacht!! Love it! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍👌👌👏👏
