    I think the pocket 6K Pro really makes a better case for an entry into cinema/video that the FX3 even though the FX3 probably suits my shooting style more. Great work Carl

    • @ProAVTV
      @ProAVTV  3 года назад +3

      It'll definitely depend on your shooting style and what you shoot, as when you break it down, there are a few differences between the two, but the smaller sensor, built in ND's, intuitive UI and lower price point definitely makes the 6K Pro better suited to those just starting out than the FX3.

    Nice that you mentioned Canon’s 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens!
    That seems to get lost in the mix these days behind all the newer lenses, but it is Very handy to have with those APS-C & Super 35 bodies.

    • @JetBen555
      @JetBen555 3 года назад

      That lens sucks, not optically just everything else around it. The AF motor is super noisy and so is the IS system, speaking of IS, it's not very effective and its huge and heavy, also not super good for dual pixel af (not that the pocket 6k has good C-AF but just saying)

    Great as always, i would like a comment on blue (or not) tint of Nd filters builded in camera . And a comment on back screen color as well.

    • @ProAVTV
      @ProAVTV  3 года назад +3

      So there appears to be some growing confusion online about blue tints with this camera. We do have a video going into that coming up, but to quickly answer your question, the ND filters do not have a blue tint. You'll see from this video that they do shift towards magenta as you increase the stops, but definitely not blue. Where people are confusing this blue tint is with the monitor. On some Pocket 6K Pro's the rear LCD screen has a noticeable shift towards blue, but not all units have this issue, and its something Blackmagic are working to fix in a firmware update. Bit this blue tint does not find its way into the footage, and only affects the rear LCD screen.

    You forgot the 15-85 Canon STM lens. Image and usage-wise it's just as good as the 17-55, and the lens stabilization is better, with a more useful range. I prefer it in most circumstances in run and gun shooting. Also, the 55-255 STM is amazing for run and gun---and lens stabilization is much better than sensor stabilization for elimination of image warpage.
    IMO the Sigma is too limited in its range and only good on sticks in a studio. Most all of the hand held footage I've seen using that lens is jittery and unacceptable. The Canon stable of STM lenses is very good---and inexpensive---ideal for most run and gun situations.

That means we need all these basic functions (focus, stabilization etc) integrated in this POCKET camera. If we need to carry with us complex autofocus systems, stabilizers etc, then, really tell me, why to buy o POCKET camera if you need equipment x 5 the size of a camera ? Go for a normal camera.

    Presentation becomes inauthentic (lacks authority/cannot be trusted) when it assumes as a foregone conclusion that RF mount couldn't happen. That's just an argument from the accounting department about cost/benefit from investing in redesign. Everyone knows that EF mount is extinct going forward, and it happened after the launch of the original 6K, so the landscape totally changed for EF. Also, note that the Cinema EOS C70 has built-in ND on RF mount.

    • @TwatMcGee
      @TwatMcGee 3 года назад +1

      Canon is a much bigger company with a bigger R&D department, and this is Blackmagic's first motorized ND system. Canon also has the ability to just force a new lens mount onto the market. Blackmagic doesn't have that luxury. All RF mount does is force people into buying canon cameras because they'll be too heavily invested in a proprietary lens mount.

    • @focuspulling
      @focuspulling 3 года назад

      @@TwatMcGee I agree; however, is there actual evidence (besides speculation) that Canon refuses to license RF mount for other camera manufacturers? That would be self-destructive as a business strategy, of course, since rapid growth of RF mount is in their best interests.
