      @@perez-gaara There does not have to be a sales contract for there to be a reposition. I've had to run repositions exactly like this. All you have to have is the original title and paperwork. Proving you own the vehicle and be willing to pay the toe company to go get it. Generally, you wanna inform the police and dot your eyes and cross your teeth? But then you can just go get it. A few years back, there was a scam similar to this where somebody would sell a car and they would turn around and have the car repaid because they sold the car with a replacement title but kept the original. By the time it got into the courts, the person who pulled the scam was already out of the state. What I'm saying is if these people were honest and were given the really needed to register it back in their name. Or this brother could have taken it any time he felt like it. It was really awesome with how many cameras he had on his truck so you really got to see a lot of what was happening. Also, him showing us his process of reconnoissance was exciting whether in his truck or on his motorcycle.
      It’s a shame how far he was knocked down after her passing. His career ended, his house got absolutely wrecked by squatters (I think), he had to sell his vehicles at a loss. If I remember correctly, he resorted to meth which certainly made his situation worse. Trouble with law enforcement too. I remember some of his updates seemed promising, but they were inconsistent. He appeared to be in higher spirits in his latest updates, but I just found out he got busted with more drugs and trying to sell stolen guns a year ago, so that combined with the fact that he's been radio silent for the last 2 years leads me to believe he's probably currently doing hard time in a Utah prison. I was so impressed when I saw that! I have yet to see any other repo channel do anything like that and be so engaging that I remember all of it years later.
      I haven't seen any updates in years, so I could also be misremembering this, but I'm pretty sure it was discovered that he'd been to prison prior to starting he RepoNut stuff. If that's true, that does not surprise me at all given how level headed he was when doing repossessions in run down neighborhoods and when he would say how he needs to do a repo fast because he anticipated violence or a gun being pulled. As if he had experience in such places and situations. I also remember that time when he wasn't so level headed and drove off knowing the guy was still in the car he was driving away with. Then him acknowledging later that he lost his cool and that it was wrong to do.
      During one of the last updates I saw, I don't know if was his channel, but I saw a then recent mugshot of him. All I can say is that he look weathered. It's tragic what happened to him and his family. It's also tragic that if he had been into crime prior to his business, then he had really turned his life around. Then he returned to all that after losing everything.

      His record goes back to the early 90s so all of that about his past is true. At least that's what he said on a reddit post a couple years ago. As far as I can surmise, as an outsider looking in, she was the glue keeping him together and losing her was the significant event that sent him into the downward spiral back into that criminal lifestyle, but he never actually hurt anyone, at least not on purpose.

      @@somethingtrulyhorrifying OK. I was unaware of the Reddit thing. It's wild that I haven't thought about RepoNut in years and then all of sudden you mentioning him brought up so many memories. There was something about him where he provided exciting footage of a job that is all about putting feelings aside to recover things that people beg you not to take, while also being being genuine about his feelings as he thinks out loud while taking us on a ride to whatever destination he was going to next.
      It's actually quite profound given that from the outside, he's a guy that wears a bandana on his head and drives a big truck with LED's and an obnoxious sound system, but then even if unwittingly, shares a great deal about the hardships of his life. Contradicting the perceived idea of someone like him. He even shared himself crying more than once. There is also meaning to be found in the realm of consequences of not paying your bills and the bad actors on both sides of the title loan. Then there's also him having to practice great patience sometimes to find difficult repossessions, but also coming across vehicles that were never recovered no matter how patient he was.
      I'm going to stop now; I don't know why I'm going so deep with RepoNut. Anyway, nice to be reminded of him. I really do hope he ends up OK, even if it's without Shanda.

      Yes, by not having the title officially transferred by the state, the PO was still the "official owner" as a matter of law. And so the original owner could contract out on a repo like this to recover it, and the towing company is in the clear (legally speaking, but the company definitely has ethical issues with willingly taking part in a scam). This is one reason why it's important to transfer title ASAP....... as the PO can simply file lost title and get a new one then do something like this if they wanted. Best to do the official transfer immediately.

      And given the lack of ethics of this two company and the fact they are willing to operate just within the limits of law, I doubt they would get shit from the tow company. The tow company got its money from the PO, and the official paperwork on record with the state clears them of any "wrongdoing" in terms of law.

    I don't know the story here but if you have the title in hand like the lady said that means she does not have a lean and the truck is whomever the title is issued to from the legal side. The repo would have been illegal and considered auto theft in my states.

    • @Towtruck_Dustin
      @Towtruck_Dustin  7 месяцев назад +1

      The registered owner had the title. I had a copy of it in my hand in the video. She even admitted to it not being registered in her name.

      Looks to me like they did buy the truck and had a signed title(which no one is gonna sign without payment) but via a technicality they got it repoed because they didn't register it within 30 days. That's really dirty if it's the case they basically stole the truck back from these people. Not sure though.

    I had one in my shop I knew they wanted to repo and I didn't want to lose my money I had in it so I left a look alike car out front they were exact, a rental. I covered the serial number took off the plate did a Key lock on the doors and trunk and tied a hard hidden cable to the front suspension and bolted it to my Garage Door so when the repo truck took off it would tear down the door. Boy did it make a mess. I won in court I was securing the rental from theft. The Police had a field day but not on me. If you cant identify you do not take it. The car they were after was in the shop on a lift that was broken and would not come down. Court said I did nothing wrong but I did get paid for my work and I needed a new garage door anyway and the rental car company was not mad at me nor was the court. ID the Vehicle first. It was funny.
