- This time we tried being very proactive in letting people know not to park in unauthorized spaces. In addition to the signs, the staff member on duty was using the intercom speakers to alert drivers. Some people just won't listen. READ THE FAQs BEFORE COMMENTING

Q: Why are cars towed from your lot?
A: Because they're parked illegally and take up space our customers need, 24 hours.
Q: But it's night-time. Businesses are closed at night. Do you really have to tow at night?
A: Yes. This business is NOT closed at night. It's very common for techs to visit in the overnight times in order to do maintenance on servers and systems. It's also possible that deliveries may need to be made during after-hours times.
Q: How do you know if it's a customer or not?
A: There is various technology at work to help with this. But the simplest answer is that if they're not in the building and they haven't checked in with the tech desk, their car doesn't belong in the lot.
Q: You suck.
A: That's not a question, but I get the point. And I've heard it all before. I understand you think you've got a witty, original insult for me. You probably don't. Save yourself the humiliation.
Q: Do you read the comments?
A: Sometimes against my better judgement, generally, yes.
Q: Why don't you just rent out spaces and make money?
A: Because that would eliminate parking spaces for the real customers of the business. It's not worth the few bucks.
Q: Do you get paid a fee or kickback for the towed cars?
A: No.
Q: Are there signs posted about not to park?
A: Yes. No fewer than 6. Usually more if they're not damaged or destroyed.
Q: Your signs are misleading. Do they say 24 hours? Should they be mounted differently?
A: The signs specify 24 hours / 7 days a week. They're mounted in accordance with local laws.
Q: How many cameras do you have?
A: More than 60. Some you can see, some are hidden.
Q: What kind of cameras do you use?
A: A lot of different kinds, based on the application.
Q: Do you feel bad for these people who get towed?
A: Most of the time, not really.
Q: Why are you making fun of the people who get towed?
A: I'm not. I'm posting the videos because I think they're entertaining and educational.
Q: How come you never post videos of cars that belong there?
A: Because that wouldn't be entertaining at all. It would be completely boring.

A: Sometimes we do! It all depends on if we are able to catch what's happening live, but the company's techs have their jobs to do and are not always available to have their eyes glued to the parking lot cameras and be able to run outside.

Almost 50 years driving, and only ever towed when I called a truck for mechanical issues. Oh, and zero parking tickets. Reading signs, being polite, and paying attention are things. Who knew?
There was this woman at my office building about 2 years ago who pulled right up into a bus lane and parked her car there. All the people at the bus stop were telling her she would get a $500 ticket and be towed if the bus came and her car was there she gave everybody dirty looks and walked away sure enough the bus came and her car was towed

my lobby in my store has a sign in plain English thay says, "lobby is closed drive thru only" and people still walk up to the door and yank it. some just yank it harder like it will give way or something. spanish speakers i understand at least language barrier. but a lot of these people know english they just are allegoric to reading or being told what to do. i love when people ignore others and pay the price.

There was a glass door that shattered one week at my work. We put cones up, danger taped it off, had a large sign saying "DOOR BROKE, USE DOOR NEXT TO THIS ONE" because there is a second door literally 3 steps away.
well! people still called to complain and report it. "Uh, you know your door isn't working? Hey, your door is broken. We can't get through it. Can you send someone over to help?"
🤔 Guess the multiple cones, danger tape, large sign and SHATTERED GLASS DOOR wasn't enough of a hint? More than a couple of people did it at this office. We would just told them "thanks, use the other door" and they would.

I work in an office that has the opening hours on the door and a sign that says "press bell then push door" and "push door when light turns green". Everyday the cleaner tells us there's people out there trying to yank at the locked door from as early as 7 in the morning even though the sign clearly says we open at nine. Then people often press the bell and stand there staring at the door without pushing it.
My son used to work as a tow truck driver. He had so much abuse heaped on him by entitled people that after a year he'd had enough and moved on.
This is why situational awareness is ALWAYS important, hearing and seeing, saves a world of headaches

The fun fact pop-ups are absolutely killing me! As someone who WFH with my desk overlooking the parking lot of my apartment building and who has to watch people park in our lot when they're not supposed to but can't do anything about it, this video was wonderfully satisfying.
We have that in the UK. The land owner makes tens of thousands every year out of non-adherence to the conditions. 10mins over costs a lot. UK law allows for a fine, albeit private property. Then, there's those who just ignore it, old address, etc, various ways to evade the ticket.

I'm glad you towed that couples' car away - she had plenty of warnings; she was warned when she came back to get her jacket but still chose to ignore it as if the warnings don't apply to her...and then she is shocked when she comes back and her car isn't there.

At our church the pastor had reserved a space with 3 orange cones for the bishop's car. He even had a sign that said, "Welcome Bishop Gomez to our church." That didn't stop one guy from pulling in and removing the cones and the sign. What an idiot!
This is a good read and a true story.
I once had a warehouse business just north of DC in Maryland, had 6 spots per shop. Parking was tight for many businesses with employees. We all had problems with other buildings employees using our spots all day. My neighbor with the end unit had most cars trying to park in his spaces and it drove him nuts. He kept telling people he would tow their cars. One day he lost his mind and got his forklift out, picked up the car in his spot moved it to the other building. When he stopped too fast to put it down it slid a bit and ended up on its side doors. It was the talk of our building ever since. Cops came to investigate and ask who has a forklift. No one rats out our neighbor we all just tell the police, “Everyone has a forklift in a warehouse and we didn’t see a thing”. Long story sort. No more police asking stupid questions and no more illegal parking at the end unit. BEST DAY EVER!

@@agnidas5816 Looks like it was a manual gearbox and the car was left in gear, maybe the hand brake was not functional. You can tell this by the way when it was towed with the drive wheels on the ground, one wheel went the way of the tow truck the other wheel rotated the other way because of the differential.
Best part was getting suv towed just 15 minutes before they arrived. I would have been pissed if that arrogant couple got away with disrespect

Lol. My friend has scoliosis. He once had to park in a regular spot because someone was illegally in a handicap spot. He went inside the nearest store (this was a strip mall) and asked if they could page for the owner to move her car. They did, no one came. He called the police an officer arrived (he went into the nearest few stores in the shopping center and tried to find the owner) no one came forward. The officer told me my friend he was going to call a tow and advised him if he wanted to watch to not sit too close because the driver may get nasty and he didn't want the driver to figure out who called. The tow truck arrived and was loading the car up to be taken to impound when the owner of the car (an able bodied young lady in heels no less) came running out of the nearby store (that both my friend and the cop had gone into to page for the owner) and started crying and pleading and insisting she had only been gone a few minutes when the cop said, "Ma'am I have been here for at least 20 minutes." and then insisted there was no other parking available and the cop told her she was wrong. She then insisted that no one had needed the spot and he said, "Who do you think called the police and complained? A handicap person who needed the spot couldn't use it because you were in it." The cop allowed her to get her things out of the vehicle and then wrote her a ticket and the tow truck driver kindly waited for her to get the cash from the atm she needed to pay the impound fee as well as a lift to the yard to pay to get her car back. I am pretty sure she never parked in a handicap spot again!

I warned a guy not to park in a loading dock. He didn’t listen. After a few hours of rain, his car was submerged past the roof at some points.
I noticed one things, on another video I just saw from you some commenter asked "what if other parked cars block the signs?".
Well, if there is a spot to park a car, at least on the signs is not blocked. The one right in front of you. And it looks like some of the signs are pretty high up, but still easy enough to see.

Bryn Stuart Jones Possibly people have parked in tow zones many times and nothing happened. Not being patroled any more, or too few checks maybe. However, the actual towing guy being there and warning you makes no sense.

Tow operators, impound lots, policement, retail security and rivate security, CCT operators...the list goes on thanks to the dumbasses of the world.

In my local shopping centre the disabled parking spaces were always taken by people who didn't need it so the shopping centre enforced a clamp and an £80 release fee. Disabled parking is now always available so my dad can finally use them whenever he's there.
Geez, how awful of the mall administration to do that! I'm sure everyone who parked there had the right to use it - they were most likely mentally disabled. All of them...

Fun fact: If you leave someone in the vehicle, the tow truck isn't allowed to hook up to it as it is an occupied vehicle and that's a safety hazard
Way too nice! We have this issue everyday on our parking lot due to a cult group disguising as a Christian church named “Surfing the Nations” next building to us that runs an “donation based coffee shop.” and they tell their customers to park in other private property lots. This has taken away parking for our tenants that are actually paying rent and for their customers. It has been a long battle and despite putting up signs and warning them, a lot of boneheads think you’re bluffing. Some even cuss you out with attitude so I tell them “it’s your decision.”
My tow trucks are on standby because of this and they scoop up the cars within 10 minutes. You should see the reactions and the excuses these people come up with. Some even get hostile when it’s clearly their fault. Then Surfing the Nations in Wahiawa, the cult that is letting all this happen have the audacity to tell us to not tow their customers cars because they’re losing business… it’s baffling because they have a huge lot for their cult members to use but tells their customers to use other private property lots who have parking available for their own customers only. This leaves no parking for patrons of the private property and the violators are the ones who’s complaining that their car got towed when they weren’t supposed to park.
Selfish people

What is the tow truck driver going to chain up? It’s a self loading wheel lift. The perfect design for speed and stealth. Unless it’s an awd vehicle. Then it becomes a pita.
@@robertng135: If they don't chain it and it does bounce and gets damage like body damage, then it's on the towing company. So if they're competent, they ALWAYS chain cars, even on lift trucks.
@@rogergeyer9851 I drove one of these for several years. On a long distance tow I would chain it up. And attach the magnetic or suction cup led signal bar to the towed vehicle. On a hook and book private lot tow like this. I never chained up and I never damaged a vehicle.

I live two blocks away from a beach and a road that features a carnival parade every year. And EVERY YEAR is the same story with people parking on our garages and blocking the ways out of our houses (for all of us that live near the event) we put up signs, we some times even argue with people and get called names when we politely ask them to move their cars.
Every year we paint, mark and tow cars, it's our little joy out of pure revenge.
It's incredible to see how self absorbed some people are, how they think they have the right to do anything. I hate them

I have lived in the Los Angeles area most of my life and people take advantage of drivers looking for parking for big events i.e Rose Parade, etc. Residents will charge up to $35 or more for parking. I was always envious that they could make some good pocket change for the weekend.

eh, if someone blow me off, I *always* tow them. The only time I don't tow is if I think the person genuinely wasn't aware of the rules. It's only a last resort for me if I think the person honestly didn't know. Otherwise it's a better use of my time to get them out of there.

I used to have to call the tow trucks on ppl illegally parking in this apt complex i worked. I usually tried to warn ppl. Some just didn't care. My favorite was a girl had been parking on the red fire line. I couldn't figure out who she was visiting but let it go a couple times. Finally I saw her park and NICELY told her she can't park there my boss wants me to have you towed. She told me to fk off and get a life. Was the happiest i ever was when i called tow truck. Funny story they Sent 2 trucks and her bf had pulled up and parked behind her. So they grabbed his truck. The young couple chased the tow truck and caught him as he was leaving property. He wanted 50 to drop the truck on the spot and while they were discussing this no on saw the other truck grab her car and he drove right on past. I told the bf I Warned her and what she said to me. He paid the 50 to have his dropped and told her she was in her own. It was a good day

@@ThePhead128 legally you have to have a drop fee if the owners show up. If they won't drop it for a fee that at least in NJ is in the contract it's a big problem for the tow company. Now having said that if someone acts like a idiot or makes the slightest of threats to me or my crew they're coming down the tow yard and paying full price.
