The cops were acting like it was some kind of hectic situation having to wait a few extra minutes.... Meanwhile, when you were loading up the car, they were literally standing there just talking to each other, not even monitoring/directing traffic. Seems like they were just having a power trip.

I’m retired Law enforcement with 40 years of service and I can tell you MOST of the time we waited for HOURS for a tow. No matter what time they showed up we were glad to see them, maybe they (police) were getting their ass chewed out by their bosses ????

I was a Volunteer with an Emergency Service Organisation and I responded (in the pouring Rain) to a Police “Request for Assistance”.
When I arrived, the Police Officer abused Me for how long it took Me to Arrive on Scene.
Following his Abuse, I exercised My Right as a Volunteer and withdrew My Service and departed from the Scene.
The Officer then had another Hour in the Pouring Rain , waiting for another Responder, just because he abused Me.
I couldnt here what the hell the cop was sying over the noise.Hard tell he was being an asshole.That sucks,you got blamed out of turn.Maybe he was driving one of the accident vehicles.Wanyed ot out of there before any superiors got there.Otherwise ,why did tgey care how long they were tgere?

Being your first call of the morning you would not be prepared for the greeting you got. On a happier note iam glad you have your jigga (truck) back. I had a situation several months ago loading a car. The city police officer was standing on the sidewalk as if he posing for a instagram picture. While the traffic was heavy and he was no help holding the traffic away from my work area. It’s a double standard when independent wrecker drivers show up. Verses the companies that are on their rotation list. 🤬
To many opinions on why that officer was a dick. Who actually knows why. You handled it just fine.
FYI, Im a retired officer 22 yrs. And I also ran a tow truck prior to my law enforcement carrier I always respected tow operators as I was once one.
like the way you started this video. Truth is I was fast forwarding past the music. Maybe keep it but turn the volume down from 11. As far as the cops. That was a no win situation for you and you handled it well. My guess is there's people in your part of the world that watch your stuff and will tap that guy on the shoulder and have a conversation.

Ego bruised cop, a professional does not beat the messenger, he contacts the person in his organization who then contacts the person at the towing company who is responsible. Hopefully he was just having a bad day. He owes you an apology, you will see his character based on what he does.
You do a great job and you have a great rapport with the police and sheriff guys.
They wanna complain about Intersection being closed I bet none of them tried starting either car, or getting either to neutral and pushing them.

I like it with no intro. As for the police, you caught a cranky one, that felt superior today. I’m sure we all know you respect and appreciate law enforcement. The police that deal with you on a regular basis know how important your job is to their work and the pride you take in it, to do it as well as they do theirs.

We sometimes need 2 hours or longer to get to an accident either because its far away or we got no drivers available currently. If the cops would start like that id simply go "Ok, ill drive away again and you can wait 4 more hours for a different company". And sometimes, especially on fatal accidents, roads here are closed for 4-5 hours...so police dont care if it takes 20 minutes longer anymore.

Just hearing that officer say "I'll just send you back", I be like okay BYE! Hope you got another tow truck driver showing up! I also hope his supervisor see this video and chews his as out for talking like that! Glad they don't have to deal with Alaska roads. We live in a remote state and accidents that happen outside our city can take us over 2 hrs sometimes and every time they're happy to see us every time! Its how long it takes us to clean up and move the vehicle off the road is what they mostly be concern about! Hope this wasn't to harsh or dramatic!

It's always cool to see what equipment other tows run. Makes every company unique and yet we're all family.
Just want to let everyone know that this normally doesn't happen on scene with cops. The officer could have handled that a lot better and Dustin was pretty professional about that whole situation. Normally if a problem like that happens cops won't even tell the driver they will report the problem directly to the company and its not the cop that reports it, its a superior that does it. This officer was just impatient and mad about it being in an intersection, this is also what happens when dispatch doesn't communicate properly on the pd side
Did he at least apologize to you?
I'm sure the cop talked to the second driver and realized Dustin was right on time. He just wasn't professional enough to come over and apologize.
What is sad is that this department has REALLY gone downhill since a change of leadership. This department used to have really good officers and everyone was supportive of each other, but I have noticed a very different demeanor since the changes at the top and new officers that they have brought in. To me it sounds like the officers have their information crossed and probably are buddies with the other company which we both know does happen. Honestly though it is sad that they act like that in public as soon as you arrived on scene. I definitely will say that not all LEO are the same in BC, but I do know that there are a lot of good ones around there.
You handled that very well and really showed your professionalism! Tbh if I got bitched at first thing in the morning for something that wasn’t even my fault, I probably wouldn’t have handled it as well as you did😅 Stay safe!

Yeah, never had an interaction like that with officers. Even when call rotation gets weird. Or if it's a really chaotic scene. Or an accident happened right before their shift ended and now they're stuck at the scene. Seemed that intersection was relatively calm, too. So I really don't understand the hostility.
I would have said by Felisha…. I will explain to the boss why his lawyer needs to call the city for harassing and bullying the drivers contracted to provide services…. Bet he checks the attitude real quick
That’s a short term victory. Dustin has to be thinking long term, take the tow, make the money from the tow AND storage as their are both total losses. Sometimes you have to laugh to the bank. The Cops probably missed their End Shift and their dispatch kicked the can on calling the wreckers; especially since the other tow service was not their either.

Intro and outro were fine. What ever is easier for you. Regarding the cop, he may have had a bad morning personally. Doesn’t make it right to take it out on someone innocent but it happens. You never know what people are struggling with inside. Anyway, you cleaned it up pretty fast and helped the other towing company. That was pretty awesome of you. 💁♀️

Here in nyc we take both cars and have a 30 ETA every time and you can ask for 15 min extension when the 30 is up but they don’t call 2 trucks just one to take both cars
So the cops were disrespectful to you and disgusting to their profession,i watch from the uk and it always make me laugh how they just stand around chatting shit to each other,i also watch alot of the chases you have over there and see how after a crash or tge chase has ended there are 10/20 cop cars everywhere just sitting there blocking all the lanes sometimes and they are in zero rush to get 1 or all lanes open for the public yet in this instance the cops are in a rush,dustin you are an absolute professional and are an asset to you're boss👌👍

That intersection is a joke. I live here. It is the least traveled road in town.
I've had a few Ken officers a few time. I've been chewed out for taking to long includes loading up and sanding the oil spill. I told the officer not my problem that FD didn't do the oil spill clean up. Another time I was told after I arrived and had the bed down to leave as another rotating coming soon I told the officer I'm here I'm not leaving. If I left they would've had wait least 15-30 mins. I never let an officer tell me how to do my job

Just like you said always prepared that's not a bad thing that's actually an excellent thing because most records hate their job so whoever decides to not like their job cuz I know you love your job so officers like that can ruin people just like you said so evidently sounds could be corruption or could be power of the enforcement so yeah I have deeply respect for police officers some officers like that I have no respect for nobody like that
Screw them jurisdictions. And later they might recognize why nobody bothers responding to calls for a tow away because the officers are a pain to deal with...
Accidents are the best paying jobs because you get the tow bill AND storage fees. Some places are $100+ a day and it could sit around 2 weeks to 3+ months… you got to think big picture 💰 Without them police tows: good luck 👍

Dustin,you back in the Kenworth sounds like the kenworth is your favorite truck, Dustin sounds like the PD call log doesn't match with your call log at Campbell's because it sounded like another tow company was called for a multiple vehicle accident maybe the officer got confused with when the calls came into dispatch, sounds like the PD doesnt know what was going on giving the wrong location to the wreaker companies means that someone not paying attention on which wreaker company goes where, that officer got confused with witch wreaker was late it wasnt your fault or the driver of the other wreaker was given the wrong location that's the reason why it sounded like why they were late

I have a friend who tows for a living and he told a state trooper exactly that once. I can see things getting a little testy over the clock running as it does.

here in my local area. all the police tows are contracted to a certain area. like "between here and here" this company gets the tows.
Working with the CHP here in California as long as I have I've ran into the same problem the old game of telephone the bigger problem with it is they're going off of what they've got and they think they're absolutely right not counting in the lag for dispatch and everything else more than likely what that cop is going off of is the time that he requested a tow truck not the time that dispatch called one
No, the problem was, he had the other company confused with us. I was well on time, he even said he waited to call for unit 2, and that the wrecker for unit 1 was late.
