This is 2 part epoxy resin, not UV resin for anyone wondering 😊🥰
And the glue is Elmers Clear, the link is in the description box so you can see the bottle 😊😊
@daniel..cooper I will get a smaller one lol 😊 unless you would like to share your big bottle..you will never run out. EVER. Love your videos. Keep them coming! Wonder if you would get a teardrop with the glue added and dropping it in that liquid ..or if this would help you make your little statues. Hmm
Oh that was uv resin not epoxy. Sorry.
Daniel do you mix the two parts then add the glue?
I have a question Daniel can I use acrylic paint instead of color paste or color pigments
Very interesting! Ive tried to find a way of stopping the glitter from sinking, ive only found that leaving it to as close to the working time has shown the best results, but this is absolutely epic 😍
Thank you 😊 I have tried that also but it can still sink a lot, also, we are at risk of taking our eye off the ball and having it set, this way, we just mix and pour 🥰
OMG! I see so many resin artists over saturate (IMHO) their resin with glitter because of sinking! This needs to be shouted from the rooftops! Sheer genius 💞
Thanks so much 😊 Feel free to share it 🥰
Definitely a difference between the two. No more waiting for my resin to thicken before adding glitter. Thanks Daniel.
You are very welcome Mike, more tests to come 😊😊
The resin community is in debt to you! You will save a lot of people valuable time and resources by sharing this knowledge. Thank you!
The sunken glitter is more dispersed across the front surface with the glue not all clumped at the lowest point like the plain resin. Like it. Now, I'm going to get glue😊
Yes, like perfect balance 😊🥰
Hey love the video, great experiment. Could I make a request though. Having to watch with CC and sometimes I can't see what you're doing because it's cover by the captions. Could you try and keep the action in the middle or top half of the screen please? It would be very helpful for those who need the captions to enjoy your amazing videos ❤
THANK GOD that you are blessed with such BRILLIANCE! You are truly a Resinologist (New Word just for you)! Thank you sooooo much for sharing your discoveries. They are not just game-changers they are life-changers! ....more than you may ever know! 🥰😍💙
Wow, thank you! 😊
Thanks for this, Daniel. I always get so annoyed when my glitter sinks, no matter what I try. You rock! 👏🏻😁
You are so welcome! 😊
Late comment, but I exploit glitter's tendency to sink when making backings for my pendants. After curing the first layer of UV resin and dusting the back with mica powder, I pour epoxy resin mixed with a backing color and extra fine glitter over the back. After it cures, some of the glitter will peek through the mica and add extra sparkle.
"Balanced" That is the word I was looking for. Dan, you've done it again. Congratulations. And, thank you.
My pleasure! Thanks so much 😊
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the Super Thanks 😊 🥰
That’s crazy how much the glue effects it immediately. Great experiment! It would be interesting to see if there are any adverse effects with a deeper and larger mold? More mass basically. Obviously would need to be careful to not exceed the recommended.. not by too much anyway.😅 I have done that.. (exceeded the recommended) by quite a bit actually but, I also refrigerated it for a couple days. Great job Daniel!❤
Yes, lots more to test, I think it would work just fine, it's just getting to know the ratios and maybe splitting into more than one cup to prevent flash cures, or mix in a shallower/wider mixing cup.
I would love to see this experiment on a larger piece. Now that we know it works on smaller pieces, I want to know if it works on larger pieces (like trinket dish size)
Daniel, I have a feeling ALL you future experiments will be using the clear glue because you enough for 3 lifetimes. 😁 I can’t wait to try this one out. Keep them coming.
😂😂 no, maybe one or two more vids soon 😂
You are a genius !
Thank you 😊
As soon as you said it made the resin thicker, my mind went to petri. Hope to see an experiment soon! Great work!
You and me both! 😊😊
😮great idea 💡 i will try. I also try for the flower. Thank you so much🙏👏👏👏
Most welcome 😊
Wow very impressive.,..it is a new day for us resin and glitter lovers!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much 😀
Definitely will be using glue in future to stop my glitters sinking cheers Daniel 🤗🤗🤗
No problem 👍
Wow you are on a roll lately. Another awesome experiment. Thanks Daniel.
Thanks Barbara 😊
Brilliant experiment Daniel ❤ x'xxx
Thank you 😊
I have missed way too many videos!! I am going back a couple of months. I love the flower with the pearl coloring. Looking through the thumbnails I see quite a few that I need to try out. I need to catch up!!
Welcome back Terri 😊🥰
Very interesting 🤔 Thank you for sharing this ☺️
My pleasure 😊
I love that you have that monster size glue bottle and you using the minutest amount to add to the resin 😂
That glue would be gone in a week at my house, with the kids using it to make slime.
I wonder how this would work with blooms! Fascinating
I know, it's huge 😂 I may test that soon depending how other tests go 😊
I love that you explore the science! It makes it so interesting and percolates so many possibilities!
I know what you mean about glitter! And, it gets everywhere! Love your experiments!
Thank you so much Anna 😊
Once again, thanks for sharing🤗🐨🦘
You are so welcome! 😊
Thanks for that. You just saved me from making a mess mixing in glowing Elmer’s glue with UV. I bought it for making slime and therapeutic putty with borax.
You must know a lot of chemistry. This is amazing, as are all of your other experiments!
Your experiments are bring resin to a whole new level of art. Nailed it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much Kim 😊
This is a complete game changer… I’m speechless ❤❤❤
Thanks 😊
No way ! ! This is gona be good ! 🤣😂🤣
Thanks 😊
Terrific
I am so happy that I finally got some of your resin from Amazon. The petri formula 👌 I ❤it!
Yay 😊 Well done 😊😊😊
It's pretty amazing what a tiny bit of that glue can do! Thank you for doing experiments!
Thank you. This info is helpful in so many ways.
Glad it was helpful! 😊
this is very cool - thank you so much for sharing
You are so welcome! 😊
Wow! You are amazing! I love glitter, so thank you so much for this experiment 🙏 I’m new to epoxy resin and I’m learning so much from your videos. You have a very soothing voice and I love your gentle laugh. The editing of the videos is also very good. Thank you for working so hard and for sharing your talent. It’s very much appreciated 🤩
I did this not to long ago with the same mold using black iridescent glitter. Love that glitter. It wss extra i had from something else i was making and by then it was thickening.
Cool, did it work for you?
What in the world?!? This blew my mind. I’ve been struggling trying to time out specific timing for glitter. This is genius!
Sounds like you need an other collaboration resin mixture 😉
Thanks for this!!
Glad I could help! Thank you 😊
OMg Daniel you real life resin GOD thank you. I am use this hack tonite when I do my first project but it's with UV resin.
Thank you sir
Sensei Daniel has done it once again!! 💕 💕 💕
Thank you Cindy 😊 Looking forward to trying a few more tricks with this 😊
@@daniel..cooper and I'm looking forward to your results! Good job Daniel! You are making such a difference in the resin world! 🏆🍻💕
@@cindywalker6872 🥰🥰🥰
I appreciate your experiments so much. They save me so much trial and error (and waste!) in my learning about resin. I can't wait to try this. Already ordered the glue.
So cool!!!
Thanks 😊
AMAZING results with the glitter dispersion test! I quit using glitter ages ago bec it sank. Now, I have no excuse not to use it! Lol
TY, Daniel, for this experiment! 💗😊👍
Thank you as always 😊
This'll work wonders for some of my projects!
Yay, glad it helped 😊
@@daniel..cooper I'm planning on some Halloween trinket boxes, so having the glitter not sink will be awesome!
A very big thank you for this lifehack, Daniel! I really needed that.
Glad it was helpful! 😊
You are our go to guy for outof the box great experiments that have changed the way we can use resin Daniel! Cant wait to see more and maybe experiments wth the alcohol drops!
Thank you 😊
Thank you Daniel. You are amazing.
This is fascinating!
Thanks 😊
Very nice!
Thanks! 🥰
Very interesting experiment from someone who always has problems with sinking glitter. You only experimented on a very small amount, do you think it would work on a larger amount of resin? I must admit you have scared me off a bit when you talked about exotherms(?) and rightly so, these are chemicals we are playing with😊😊
Thanks Denise, yes, more experiments must be done. I wanted to keep it as a low amount to be able to see the effects more, I don't see why it wouldn't work with more glitter though 😊😊😊
@@daniel..cooperI think I am going to wait until you have done more experiments before I go ahead and use your new discovery, first because my workshop is in my home and secondly because resin is so expensive. Please keep experimenting and I will keep watching, thanks
Most definitely I can see a much greater layered and 3 D depth effect with using the glue. This opens up all kinds of possibilities in the pursuit of resin art . You got my gears turning..Thank you.
So true, I have a huge idea for my next vid 😊 it will change resin art forever if it works 🤩
Daniel you are fantastic. I totally love what you have discovered!! 🤗💕💙
Thank you as always 😊
I hate glitter! But it's so pretty! I've worked with it for way too many years. lol It really is the herpes of the craft world.💖
😂😂
Ha! Love that perfect comparison 🤣🤣
Fantastic results 👏🏻 Love watching your experiments 😍 x
I think you must be a scientist in your day job. Another game changer.
Thanks Melanie 😊
OMG!!!! I was struggling with glitter sinking too! I just got off work , opened my phone to RUclips and bam! There you were with an answer! Thank you so much for sharing 😁
You are so welcome! 😊
@@daniel..cooper I tried this but didn't have Elmer's clear glue so tried another clear glue. It does NOT take very much!! I tried it in my bead molds and, while it took time to get it in the mold, it worked! I used UV Resin.
@lindanewcomer830 yay, so glad it worked 😊😊😊😊 thanks for letting us know Linda 😊
Thanks again for all of you experiments! Really cool!
Thank you 😊
Thanks for another outstanding video. I love watching your experiments.❤❤❤
Thanks Christine 😊
Another great video. Thanks 👏🏽 💯 😊
I've stopped using glitter because of it sinking. Thanks for the experiment.
This is yet another amazing discovery. Well done 👏 ❣️
Thank you so much 😀
Wow! Would really like to see this procedure on a much deeper mold.
Awesome experiment!
Thanks, will try soon 😊
THANK YOU!!!! That's what I needed!
Wow, impressive, thank you so much for doing it. These experiments
Thank you! 😊
Hi Daniel great experiment with awesome results, thanks for sharing ❤ xx
Very interesting! I’m going to give this a try, taking the precautions you suggested. Thank you again, Daniel!
My pleasure! Thank you
Man of genius lol
I hope Elmer's makes you an offer Daniel; these glue ideas are going to blow up! So useful for so many 🎉 Cheers!
Thank you 😊
amazing! thank you for testing, and sharing!
What a great experiment. This is definitely 💯 a game changer. Great work Daniel 😊
Thanks so much 😊🥰
Wow, very interesting. I need to get some school glue. 😊
Thanks Bob 😊😊
AWWWWWSOME!!
Amazing what a teeny tiny little bit of glue will do!
100% 😂
You have such interesting experiments. THANKS
Glad you like them! Thank you 😊
Cool 😎 ❤
I love this…..Daniel you have missed. Your calling sir!!! You need to be a professor and teaching!!!! Your great at it!!! ….love this….so what I am walking away with is if I add some clear Elmers to my resin to thicken it up my glitter will not sink all to the bottom but will be able to float in the whole of the piece? This is phenomenal!!!
Thanks 😊 in theory yes 😊 viscosity may differ, lots more to still test but it's a great start 😊
ooooooo! This could really help with the bracelets I do. I normally have to do a two part pore to keep the glitter from sinking too much. Ordering a small glue now!
Glad it was helpful! Be sure to test safely 🙏
Spectacular!
I had given up on being able to suspend ashes in resin. Even semi sifted ashes with no big pieces. I'm definitely going to try this.
It could be very risky to use ashes with this atm
@@daniel..cooper I have some test ashes, I'll report back.
This is just Amazing! I hope it works the same with larger pours.🤩
Thanks, more testing to come 😊😊
The glue may have slightly affected the resin clarity Because it has a tiny bit of cloudiness compared to the other one.
Oops. Might of added too much elmers glue. I couldnt get it to drop 1 blob at a time. Next time will dip my tool instead. I have to go to work, am assuming there to be a catastrophe when i get home in 6hrs. Luckily only experimenting at mo. Love watching your videos, they inspire me to the point i want to try straight away. Am i strange? I get excited from others demoulding. Thanku lovely man
Its okay, phew, nothing bad happened. Googled it, sounds like the GlassCast 10/50 2:1 mix may of averted a diaster. I couldnt get the glue 'elmers clear' to do little drops and when mixed, the silicone spatula stood upright on its own. Eek. I am a newbie and am only experimenting at mo. And yes, the glitter beautifully suspended, thankyou. I have now subscribed.
I've seen a lady, Louise do thise copper wire resin petals. If she saw this experiment you are doing she'd be right on it. It's got me wanting to try something out I have been thinking about fir a cool project
Cool, it may be Louise Singleton, I think someone mentioned Louise in my video on them, I will be sure to check her vids out in them 😊
I was just scrolling thru YTs vids after seeing your video and i came across the artist that do tumblers and all the challenges of runny resin etc. Your glue/resin idea could go a long ways towards solving many issues of dripping and losing color/glitter depth etc. they have.
Wow, yes, that could definitely help that 😊😊😊
I hope Elmer's makes you an offer Daniel; these glue ideas are going to blow up! So useful for so many 🎉
Very cool. Looks like the one with glue is a little cloudy, not as clear as the other.
Could be, I didn't notice, it may be the glitter? I need to try just clear resin to compare 😊
I love your research ‼️ Cheering you on!
Thank you!! 😊
Fantastic stuff, Daniel❤
Blinking marvellous my dear sir! I applaud your dedication to your art! BUT now I’ve gotta get some glue 😢😂😂❤
Thanks Sarah 😊
I can't wait to see effects on sinker white in this thicjened resin.
You could make 3d trails with a needle tipped bottle...
I may try soon 😊😊
I think you may have broken the resin world in a fantastic way!! I don’t use glitter often bc of how it settles (and the mess) but I think I will try this!!
Thanks Kelley 😊😊😊 The views have just started rocketing so we will see 😂
Thanks TEACH
You are welcome 😊
This is great! I wonder if it still has the same strength and longevity.
Should be the same 😊😊
AMAZING 😮😮❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Tammy 😊
Very interesting effect, thank you! 🎉 It will be very helpful
You're welcome 😊 Thank you 😊
Lol I should've watched this before using glitter🙈. Oh so the glue works in epoxy too, cool! Uh oh, danger Will Robinson 🙈. Cool 😎. Tfs and have a great day 💖
Wow! This is amazing ❣️❣️❣️😊🙃😊
Thanks so much Deb 😊 This changes so much!
