    I have a moded Sega Saturn (Jap) version and I also have the Action Replay that I bought over 20 years ago, never thought to play burned copies on it. I was using it to play games from different regions, still works fine.

    Got a question (hope maybe your still around for this video)
    True to use CD-R you gotta use the Action replay, you can not save at all. (I’m not really wanting to try the disk swap trick)
    But what if I already say I got the Memory card for saving games.
    Could I maybe first use the action replay cart insert the CD-R to let the game load, then later when the game shows up I can swap the action replay for the memory cart so I’m able to save
    Could that work? Or would that maybe crash the game?
    Im soon gonna get my Saturn and I hope to save some games that need it.

    yeah, im missing something I guess, Ive had one of these AR carts for about 11 years or so, and while I of course can play imports with it, it doesnt allow for CDRs, I see that "psuedo saturn" name in the menu you show, which Ive only heard of before, but Im must be missing the part where you tell us how to make whatever change to the AR cart..because "psuedo saturn" is not Action Replay

    • @gamerforever4837
      @gamerforever4837 4 года назад +4

      You have to flash the action replay cartridge to the psuedo saturn. ruclips.net/video/cpn2xZTxNcA/видео.html that's how you do it if needed i can help msg me if your stuck.

    There is a way to play back ups without using an action replay or game shark… It involves using the swap method. Some people say that it can slowly kill your Saturn. But I’ve been playing burnt games on it since 2003 and it hasn’t been an issue. Still works fine in 2019.

  • @DanielAyy
    @DanielAyy 3 года назад +4

    Would playing games off of CD-R's be inferior to playing the official CD's? Do they take longer to load or have lower quality audio compared to an official copy for example?

    • @JomasterTheSecond
      @JomasterTheSecond Год назад

      Why would the audio quality be lower? It's literally the same digital data burned onto a disc.

    The Saturn has an Everdrive type option like the PS1 and Dreamcast do now. The Saturn has two versions the Rhea? The PS1 version was just released at the end of 2018 and the Dreamcast late 2017 or 2018. About 200$ for the PS1 and Dreamcast and the Saturn should be around there. Those are commercially sold. You can also but the Wii and GameCube with external hard drives that include their library. The Xbox can also be purchased from individuals but I’ve rarely seen it include the entire library. The PS3 is also starting to be sold with its library included but again these are from individuals so each one could be different. The Super Retrocade can be purchased version 1.1 and you can attain the roms fir the entire libraries for Nes Snes Genesis Mastersystem All Gameboy except for 3d variations Turbo Grafix 16 Sega Cd as well as 3000-5000 arcade games. You can add more it’s just people have those readily available. For those that do not know you can also get Everdrives for these systems for those who want to use the consoles NES Snes Genesis Neo Geo Turbo Grafix 16 Nintendo 64 and most of the handhelds. The Retro Pis Rasberry etc is another option for the all in one inclusive. I have never had a Pi but in my opinion just keep waiting another year or three and they’ll have the technology and the price will come down enough on external hard drives where you will have EVERY system PS3 and 360 and Wii U and prior on one system with all the libraries plus 3000-6000 Mame titles for 300-500$. Which is a steal you’ll end up with 150,000 games on one system but..... many of those are garbage. This is a rough guess but you’d probably have 30,000 playable enjoyable games and two thirds you would never even click on once most likely, but to have that option, WoW!!!! So, you have so many options it’s just down to preference and cost...

    I believe you have to flash the Cartridge with special software to allow it to play copies.
    But then the cartridge loses the option to save gameprogress on it.....

      can you still save games though like Panzer Dragoon saga by swapping out cartridge with another non-modified action replay?

    • @zetmoon
      @zetmoon 7 лет назад +4

      Brandon Premo no, I don't think it's possible to swap cartridges as that would be bad for the Saturn and besides, you cannot save directly to the cartridge. You always save to the internal memory but you backup the data to the cartridge in startup menu

    • @brandonpremo8510
      @brandonpremo8510 7 лет назад +3

      So is it possible to move save data from internal battery to non-modified action replay?
      I'm fine with using internal battery, but I'd like something with a little more life left in it.

    The 4 meg of ram is not for saveing games it's for extra system and graphics memory it also has some storage memory for games saves and you can play games from any region and load cheat codes so it's a 4 in 1 or 5 if you include the burnt CD exploit !

      samghost13 I have heard people say that using CD-R discs can cause a problem with the laser I personally have never seen such an instance the only thing that you could run into is the initial disc swap trick to get the software loaded onto the cartridge cuz you are pulling a disc off a spinning disc honestly it's not something I worry about

  • @darklinggolem

    a ModChip is like a Game Genie. it basically interrupts the Communication from the CD Drive to the MotherBoard.
    Example. when you insert a CD R in the Disc Drive. The CD Drive will say its not a Legit Game. the ModChip Will Take that and Say to the Motherboard that its a legit game and the Correct Reigon
