  • If chondromalacia patella is left untreated it tends to worsen over time.
It will worsen much faster if you continue to exercise in a way that strengthens the over-dominant quads on the front of the thigh.
Overly strong, or dominant quads are usually the root cause of chondromalacia patella. If most of your exercise tends to use your quads, then you'll be feeding the root cause and adding more compression to the patella cartilage.
Taking pressure off the cartilage behind the patella is the only way to resolve chondromalacia patella for the long term. It does not just go away with time.
In this video, Dr. David shares more details to answer the question, "What might happen if you don't fix knee pain from chondromalacia patella?"

I have knee bursitis and I walk a lot for my job. I’ve been dealing with this for 6 months. Finally, it’s going away, because of the 28 day knee therapy video. I will use this video as long as I have this job to reduce the extra stress on my knee and keep them healthy.😊

Can you put the link to that video in? I have been dealing with knee pain for years doctors have me on spin cycle giving me the run around. I haven’t even had an x ray of it lately. Rheumatologist seems to think it is a muscle, sends me for lab work an orders x rays for other areas of pain.

Doc, you have no idea just how much we appreciate your work and educational videos. I recently saw a highly recommended orthopedist for a neuromuscular issue and he immediately tried to sell me lower back injections. I understand that the guy makes no real money unless he injects or cuts, but I insisted on PT to which he reluctantly referred me. Thank you for all of your videos and may God bless your work.

Knee pain after a long run
    Went to Dr.
    recommendation/diagnose
    1. Euflexxa 20 Mg/2ml (6=3 Syr)
    2. Mild Arthritis
I asked Dr. for Physical Therapy as well since I believe the problem was due to not stretching enough and muscle being imbalanced!
    17 years -of running
24 marathons (26.2 miles) not including hours of training time) facing traffic , only on side of the road.
I was correct and PT confirmed that. Thank you for this video! I’ll follow your exercises cause I did noticed PT had a very genetic exercise given to everyone else.

Wow this is so eye opening!
My regular physician looked at X-rays and said my patella was injured but couldn’t be more specific. I injured my knee skiing 40 yrs ago then re- injured it recently by simply twisting it wrong in a swivel chair. Walking ,esp up/down stairs is most painful… not a lot of swelling tho.
Got pain manageable with natural oils like lavender, comfrey, and CBD creams. It feels so fragile still after 7 weeks, what’s the best thing to do? I don’t really have a proper diagnosis I think. Top of knee cap and just under is the most painful areas. Other knee is aching cuz of over compensation. Using hot /ice therapy occasionally too. Thanks in advance!

I started having knee popping 2 years ago(while working as a bike courier), which then developed into knee pain. 2 years later, finally, i found out that it was chondromalacia patela. I have tried physio therapy. It was mostly focused on my thighs and vmo muscles. I have also tried injections to help relieve the pain and help the cartilage to heal, but after a couple weeks it went back to where it was. After watching your videos i started to do glute exercises to balance my muscle strength distribution. I am yet to see the results. How long does it typically take to heal it naturally with exercises?
    Also i am 22

thank you sir for the info. I live in Germany and in my mid 40s. each time I play a soccer intensive match I have this medial meniscus pain, and pain behind my right knee. I really love soccer and would like to play it even in my 50s but with this consistent pain. what would you advice me do. I don't mind buying your knee healing course and start doing it if it would work for me permanently. Thanks ❤
