That's actually a great question and one I should have mentioned. Here's a whole video on 9 Supplements for Knee Arthritis according to research. ruclips.net/video/I-Rcz4zy018/видео.html The link to that video is in the endscreen of this one as well.
Excellent video . I wish I was in your area. I’ll be searching out a good PT in my area , am losing a few extra lbs and am seeing a surgeon for the sole purpose of injections… but I know one day it’ll have to happen…so I want to know the dr well before that point…probably cortisone since insurance won’t pay for gel series injections. Both my knees are bone on bone mostly on the outside … I am 67 years old and I am petrified of just the idea of my leg being sawed and an artificial knee being put in . I know the recover is long and very difficult.. and to make matters worse I have OA in my ankles too…thank you again . Have a great week
I am 6 weeks after complete knee replacement with Titanium.....pain all the time....very tired of it! I probably won't do the other one. I can't slee🎉on my sides yet....tired of loosing sleep.
Hi, thank you for the vid. I am in such ugly pain! I've been in pain for over a year. My doctor told me that knee replacement might be the next step because everything she's put me on has not work. Then, I saw your vid and I did not know they had knee on knee braces. My doctor gave me a regular brace which made me hurt more. I am gonna try the OA Pro brace. I hope it works. Please, everyone, wish me luck!
Great advice and also I have stage 4 . I found the Hoka Bondi 7 and version 8 a great way to relieve pain as I am walking well and running also . Thanks again for your wonderful video.
I sure loved this video, many yrs ago ,had arthroscopic surgery on both knees, due to severe falls,2 separate incidents, 20 yrs apart,I'm in SO much P ain,its controlling my life but DO NOT want to ever do any kind of surgery again,my knees are destroyed from those 2 surgeries... don't trust the Dr's anymore!! Sure wish you lived out here in Mi.... would be happy to follow your advice!! Thank you again ❤❤
Yes I have RA and also Bone on bone knee after my Bone density Exam but I do regular exercises plus meds prescribe by my Rheumatologist so I manage to walk and do household chores that I can manage to do. Exercise really help.
Thanks for video Iam over weight Iam 57 I on a walker just found this year had bone on bone my doc won't me have surgery but I told her no didn't help my sister they won't her do it again she told them no it did help.me first time so no more she on a electric wheelchair now
Another one is dangling your legs off a high table and just paddle your feet, better still apply ankle weights and a heat pack on the knee. The weights stretch the fibia and tibia causing a vacuum in the joint which draws in more blood into the synovial fluid. Heat pack attracts more blood thinking like a hot shower. The objective is to reverse arthritis. I learnt this off another video followed it for 3 to 4 months and totally ended my pain. At 60, can still run for half an hour, walk for 2 hours, with no pain.
Excellent video. Your information was very informative and answered most of my questions. I suffer from this. Dreading the day when my cortisone shot will wear off.
PRP efficacy depends on the concentration of the platelets. 60 mL blood draw platelet concentration has been shown to be superior to other forms of treatment.
That's a decision that you have to make for yourself. No one NEEDS surgery (it's elective surgery), but for some people it's the best option to improve quality of life as a last resort after conservative options have been exhausted. This video may give you some more insight as well: ruclips.net/video/dHTDDDc8VKc/видео.html
over and over for years... what does it matter? 10 cortisomne shots over 3 years ... doing for PRP and ??? exercises... strength, yet it is hurting almost all of the time.
Because of my underlying illness I have been told by the doctors and surgeons that I'm unable to have any operations on my hips and knee joints because they only give me a 35% chance of survival. I'm on painkillers and oramorph max 30 mil per day, this is now my 3rd year of pain and discomfort but have to grin and bere it.
A doctor told me 2 has ago that I should take narcotics and if that doesn’t work get a knee replacement he was very rude, however, I walk 2 miles every day. Yes my knee hurts sometimes a lot but I put some on on it with NSA in it and it takes care of the pain. I’m never gonna get a knee replacement. It’s brutal.
Disagree with your study saying PRP was not superior to cortisone or gel. A recent meta analysis showed that those studies showing no effect had too low a dose of platelets. Effective treatment required 8-9-10 million platelets. Which reveals a problem. Since this is your own blood you may not have a high concentration of platelets and there is likely no way for the practitioner to determine the platelet count.
Thanks for sharing the updated study results. Do you have a link to the article? Platelet count is a normal part of a Complete Blood Count (CBC) panel though with norms of 150,000 to 450,000 / microliter. If say 9 million were needed at ~300,000 per microliter, that would be about 30 microliters, or 0.03 milliliters of UNCONCENTRATE blood, which is not a lot. Even on the low end, 0.06 mL is still not much. It seems like one would have to be severely deficient in order to not be able to get that many platelets. P.S. I'm not arguing with you... I just find it interesting. Please do share the article link if you have it.
Not sure I agree with you. I’ve tried braces, steroid injections, physio. I have grade 4 knee arthritis and now on crutches.I can only walk short distances even with crutches. Not sure how I could continue living life without a knee replacement! I’m 60.
I will not do the other one....this has been awful! 6 weeks away from surgery, pain all the time. My PT guy says it will probably be up to 12 weeks till relief.....REALLY!?!
Repeated cortisone injections (or any corticosteroid) can weaken bones and collagen (cartilage). One every now and then most likely won't, but if you're needing them every 3 months or so, the risk goes up.
How can you compare arthretic knees with heart disease or say you can live without surgery when some cannot walk or sleep because of their knees. You make it sound almost like the pain is their imagination.
No pain is imaginary. All pain is real. What I meant is that you CAN live in pain, although it lowers quality of life. If you're having a heart attack, without a surgery, you probably won't survive. There was no intent to trivialize anyone's pain or suffering.
For some people surgery is the best option. It's a personal choice. Many surgeons may not be fond of their knee replacement patients doing downhill skiing, so make sure to discuss that with your surgeon if you go that route. Good luck either way!
@More4Life Thank you for your response, surgery is a major decision! I would rather exercise my way out of knee pain but I keep reading accounts of people having the surgery and regretting not doing it earlier.
What about supplements?

Easiest thing for you is to have the legs removed.

I was under the impression that cortisone injections enhance the arthritis.

Sure I can live without knee surgery I just can't hike ski or walk downhill.
