You're a good Dad, he's a lucky son; and a bunch of lucky neighborhood kids. Kudos!
He will be grown up by the time its finished!!😂
He is definitely a good dad, this is an awesome project
@Inconvenient Truth was that supposed to be funny
Yeah im sure he will be really appreciative when hes sitting up there playing on his iphone
@Bruce, I couldn’t have said it any better.
Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!
I SO agree with your ending sentiments!!! The treeless treehouse is awesome!!!! You did a fantastic job!
Such a true sentiment at the very end. Thank you for providing your local kids a place to just be kids.
You had to be home when the street lights came on,society is so distracted.😢
Amazing. My jaw dropped when you put in the rock wall. This isn't a treehouse, my man: it's a full-on playground! Incredible work. ❤
I've been enjoying this build series. It's an exceptional tree house! You're also correct about kids; They really need to be outside without "adult" supervision.
Hi Jason, really cool project! As I've worked as a rigger I want to clarify a few things about the zipline installation in case people want to buy these parts and build one themselves. The short cable around the tree is called a "Bridle" and they can be built as you did or purchased premade with factory crimped end loops also called "swaged" loops which have no clips that loosen or rust. The black "U shaped thingy" you used to connect the zip line to the deck hardware is called a shackle and you used it exactly how it's intended. As someone has already commented it looks like you installed the cable to cable clips (also referred to as "Crosby connectors") backwards. Refer to the comment below about "never saddling a dead horse". The body of the clip always goes on the load bearing line and the u-bolt on the slack side. The way you have it they are more likely to loosen and the u-bolt shouldn't grab the load line as it crimps the cable lowering it's strength rating. The 1\4" aircraft cable is a great choice as its way stronger than you need and the stransa are stainless steel so it will hold up well outdoors but it does stretch a bit when first put under load so expect to tighten it a few times this summer. Also check it for rust a couple times a year, especially in places where the cable gets crimped by hardware. If you find it rusting too quickly, this cable is also sold covered by a vinyl sheath which is even better outdoors. Enjoy being the neighborhood dad hero! The other dad's on the block should be providing all the BBQ's this summer in thanks!
I was looking for this reply when I posted mine. I’m not sure if you were referring to my comment or not. I couldn’t remember all the names of the bits so thanks for that!
Your narration at the end of the video brought a tear to my eye, and it was spot on. Great work, as usual. All of those kids will have lifelong memories because of your kindness.
The same for me when I was a kid in the 70's. We were always outside, building dens and rafts, climbing trees and riding our bikes, it was great. Lucky kids, the treeless treehouse is amazing.
The 'Dream Treeless Treehouse' series has been a favorite of mine since the first one. On this video you voiced a sentiment about play that is sad and absoultly true. You still take time to play.
Thank you for your exceptional projects and for the reminders that playing is essential for all of us.
Great work and happy son. Good job dad! The one critique I would have is to remind you to “never saddle a dead horse “ on your zip lines @ 16:35 I noticed your cable clamps are backwards. The saddle goes on the loaded side of the cable and the u bolt goes on the cable end (non loaded) side. Thus the phrase “never saddle a dead horse “
Jay, Ya'll did an Absolutely Amazing job on the giant-slide; multiple swings; and the super cool zipline!
I am glad that let the neighborhood kids play together on this tree house!
Well done, Sir!
What a loving and kind Dad , it warms my heart to see a Dad give so much love to his Son❤
This has got to be one of my favorite projects you've done, and the reason behind it is your closing statement. Something about seeing the kiddos have fun outside again brings me back to the good old days, and the fact that you're helping provide that for yours is just awesome. Great work as always!
Your closing comments really hit home. As a dad of three (now adult/teenage) kids, they grow up so fast. Thankfully mine had a reasonably healthy balance still of playing outside and with actual toys instead of just screen based things. Kids need to be allowed to be kids instead of society pushing them into adulthood earlier and earlier.
Your kids is balanced because you are a great exemple and a great parents. This is what society lack right now!
Thanks Jason. All your videos are enjoyable and informative. Kids need to be outside, explore, and imagine; a treehouse is a perfect medium. This one brings back memories: As a kid my buddy’s dad was a builder. We trucked all sorts of stuff into the woods and built a two-story treehouse complete with carpet and shingled roof. Twenty yrs. ago I built one for my boys. The neighborhood “fort” complete with deck and tower. They slept in it, had a telescope on the tower for star gazing, and it was an impenetrable paint ball fortress. (That was a psychedelic mess that needed to be repainted often.) Now my granddaughter and her friends play in it. Thanks again for sharing.
23:10 this section brought a tear to my eye! Way to bless the neighborhood-
Thank you for a great channel with good family values and good humor.
I’ve been looking forward to the next treehouse episode
This is an awesome build ! Keep the kids being kids and enjoying the outdoors and no responsibilities other than homework
You are an exceptional Dad, and a pretty great maker of things.
Now I have watched the whole video, there appears to be a considerable amount of dust or something in here..... I literally have no words. Thank you.
When we were kids, back in the stone age, in the Summer it was out at sunrise, be in the yard when the street lights come on. Where I grew up that was around 9:00 at night. We would ride our bikes all over town.
I love this. The best part of this video was how you brought the kids outside and together. I’m old school like you and live in my childhood home. It saddens me to not see kids running the streets just being kids. You have a good heart my friend.
Thank you for the comments at the end of the video.I am 75 but when my brothers and I were kids the last place we wanted to be was in the house.
He`s is a lucky child to have a father who`s ideas will make and bring many day's of happiness and joy. Your a great Dad.
That ending got me so nostalgic for a pocket full of jam butties and only coming home when the street lights are on.
I love this tree-less treehouse! My dad, uncles, and grandpa built me one in the backyard when I was a kid and I was in it nearly every day. It was nowhere near as sturdy as the one you built, just some 16' 4x4s for the posts, but it is still standing some 35 years later.
The ending made this video for me. Some very lucky kids in your neighbourhood.
We didn't have a tree house, but my dad made us the best cubbie house out of scrap wood. It had a reclaimed brick floor, and the windows were made of old draws that you could slide open. It quickly became the local spy club for all the neighbourhood kids. I'd forgotten about it until I saw your son playing, and the memories came flooding back, made me cry a bit, and miss my dad. Love your videos and the love you show your son ❤😢
Being outside is so important. Providing a place for many kids to play is great.
I had a tough day. Thanks for making me smile.
I have loved every minute of this build! Thank you for putting out such great content! The kids in your neighbourhood and your son are very lucky to have such an awesome structure to play in and on!
I loved the part seeing kids running toward it. What a joy!
Love you last comments on kids getting outside and playing / exploring!
This is the only channel I genuinely look forward to seeing videos from. It’s my source in several home projects I dive in… great job. From a guy who’s spent the majority of my career working behind a desk I appreciate what you share with everyone
Great video! Especially love what you said at the end! I built a playset for my almost 2-year old son about a month ago, and as the weather is finally getting nicer here in Michigan, all he wants to do is go outside and play on it, or with his toys! That is really important to my wife and I, as we don't want him glued to a screen all day either. You see it happen way too much these days! Plus, getting him outside helps us stay active too!
P.S. - Happy belated Mother's Day to your wife. From what I see on the screen, you guys are awesome parents to Iver!
You continue to one up your previous work Jason. As a dad of two grown kids, I applaud you and the work you do and the dad you are. Well done, man.
Dang, someone is cutting onions around here. Beautiful and touching, funny as always
I know what you mean, I am one of six kids, our parents always had to look for us, we would be at the back of the farm, or miles away at the quarry, great childhood memories, one day we walked for miles in the pouring rain and mud trying to find the end of the rainbow.
Great job! Great memories to come for the kids! Might want to grind the edge of the bolts that you cut off at the bottom brackets, the cut off edges can be very sharp and capable of injuring a child!
Don't forget to drill a few holes in the bottom side of the tire swing so the water can drain.
Jason, you are a great Dad! And you even put up a climbing wall... wow!
We did not have those when I was growing up. We just scrambled up huge piles of open-top citrus crates made of wood that the sorting 'plant' out on the main road had in surplus. The kids from all the homes in our neighborhood were always crawling around up at the plant. The workers would let us bee around, too. They just told us when they were going to have a lot of trucks in ands out, so we knew to stay out of the 'yard' and off to the side where more piles of crates were. After the workday was over, and the workers left, we could climb up in the three and four storey holding and sorting hoppers and look down at the navel oranges the size of softballs, the grapefruit even bigger, and when the tangerines came in, at least a baseball size, oh did we have feasts, hidden away in our pirate forts of citrus crates, consuming our booty. Arrr, matey!!
I'm almost 70 now (just a couple more months) and I can still remember. These memories are just like what you are giving your foreman, and all the other kids, Jason. Cheers, mate.
Absolutely amazing treeless treehouse! Your son and the neighbor kids have an awesome place to have fun and build memories. Btw, I love the fact that the windows need to be cranked open! I'm old enough to remember car windows that needed to be cranked up or down. Really miss those.
I love the demo of your vision. Seems treehouses bring out the kid in all of us lol. I love the Forman he’s so clever
Very cool man. A great thing to do for your son and the neighbourhood kids
Awesomeness!!! Can i come over to play? Great place for Grammy to have her afternoon tea with the kids!
Pro Tip- Put the washer and nut on a little way prior to sinking wedge anchors. This will save a big headache if you damage the starting threads pounding them in.
😮
You're the father that all boys ❤️ love
I can’t believe you let something like winter get in the way of working on this. 😂😂😂. Great job can’t wait to see what’s next.
Amen for those last words! And boy, Iver is a lucky boy with a fine das like you!
Love that you make it available to the neighbor kids... so fun... thanx for all the work..
That's a beast of a treeless tree house
Wow great video! The playhouse may be worth more than the big house, lol love the interactions between you and your son.
Your son is lucky for all the work you've done onnthe treeless tree house. I love it and my inner child is slightly jealous. 😂 Small tip from one parent of a melinated child to another, get that baby some lotion. His skin is dry and needs moisture. ❤
I love this project and Iver is growing so fast.
So gorgeous... Awesome job!! Shoot I'd live in that tree house 😉
Love the FACTS at the end about the importance of Kids going outside and using their imagination. It's spot on... 👌 thanks for all of the content you put out!
You created an awesome hangout, Jason, pretty sure your son loves it and will use it for many years to come!
It’s all worth it, when all the kids come to hang out! 👍
A word to the wise about the tire swing. It might be 'beneficial' to install some padding on the concrete footings.
I know me and my friends would always try and spin the swing as fast as we could, faster than we should some times too.
Great video and project as always Jason, cheers!
So awesome. Love family projects like this. Our house was the neighborhood play ground.
Way to go dad!! When my kids were small I didn't build something this cool but I had alot of cool stuff! Water slides, trampoline, swingset fort ect.. All the parents knew where their kids were because my house was the spot! Just follow the otter pop wrappers! Lol!
Brilliant philosophy. The Forman is one lucky dude. Thanks for sharing this with the world. 🇨🇦
You are an awesome dad brother
I wish l was a kid again to play on that no tree, treehouse🤙🏽
Very nice job. Thanks for sharing.
Drill holes in the bottom of the tire swing to drain the water... it will keep the mosquitoes from breeding in the skunked water.
This is so great that you are creating a space for all the kid to be kids!
Beauty. Loved the outro script. Too true
Excellent thought and very nicely done!
Amen Jason! Send the kids outside to play. We need the next generation to experience that.
Excellent. Your comments at the end are spot on.
Absolutely brilliant Jason. Your lad is a very lucky young man. 😎😎
Dad of 4, dad jokes, dad bod and woodworker. Great advice for all parents for their kids to play, get dirty and us their imagination! I’ve been building a giant sandbox for the little ones this spring.
Super awesome! Looks like lots of fun!
Amazing build, amazing video. Thank you!
Lovely. Sweet thoughts.
Last few sentences were absolute true!
Love the zip line and new additions. I want to go play on that thing! 😂😂
"put the brake spring on to keep the kids from smashing into the tree..." where's the fun in that? 🤣
I love this! You are so right about the need to get outside and just play! My granddaughter is turning 7 in a few days and thankfully, she would rather be outside helping me work in the garden or flower beds, or just digging for worms, catching frogs, or playing in the mud. We were always outside growing up. It is sad that so many children these days don’t experience life without a screen in front of them. Y’all did an awesome job on this entire build. I’m looking forward to seeing the interior. 🙂
my 7 year old daughter likes to join me in the shop and build things. I've really got myself into trouble watching these videos as she now has an idea on what a "tree house" looks like....
lol that is the first time I have seen a tire swing with a new tire! Snazzy!
that's one of the coolest treehouses out there, even though it doesn't have a tree.
And your message at the end, absolutely true!
That looks good enough to live in ❤
BEAUTIFUL ending to the video. ❤ So true.
Thanks for being an awesome dad! What we wouldn't do for our kids! I often realized that I didn't realize God's love for us until I had a kid. You demonstrated some fatherly love! 💪🏽
Ivor must be the luckiest boy alive to have such an awesome , fun dad. Good onya mate as we say here in Australia.
Iver is a lucky kid! This is absolutely amazing! And the fact that all the neighborhood kids play on it with him - priceless.
As someone who has been a preteen boy, this looks like a BLAST!! But those hammocks are going to get wrecked
When I was a kid I would have loved a tree house like this. Would've put a TV in there to play some N64
I'd strongly recommend using bolts on those swing pivots, the lag bolts will likely pull out over time. Ask my kids how I know...
Good job, Jason. Ivor's a lucky kid!
When I was a kid I hardly saw my parents as I was always out doing things. And getting dirty. And learning stuff. And having adventures.
I love this treeless treehouse. I want one too. The zip line cinched it. ❤
Your 100% correct the kids need to get out more. Iver is very lucky to have you as his Dad.
Well done Jason! You’re a great guy and a class act no doubt. Thanks for being one of the extraordinary.
I love it!!!
And you!!!
Greetings from NYC
Great stuff. Thanks for the update. You are spot on Brother, kids need more outdoor physical activities and you've create an awesome place for that to happen. We built a treehouse about 8 years ago (not a awesome as yours) and adults & kids love it. Keep up the great content!
This is so much more than construction, what a great role model you are!
Wow just WOW
Very appropriate message at the end Jason!! Great job.
