what state are you in
of course Cam from blacktail studio knows. his woodwork skills are far far better than yours, will ever be.
West System works really well outside.

This is like watching the builders\ makers that only use non powered hand tools but I watched it all ,hit the like button and left a comment. Mission accomplished.
Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!
When it comes to investing, nothing pays off more than educating yourself with the right information from the right source. That's how you get rich.
Yeah!! Due to the fall in the stock market, I don't think it's advisable holding, it would be more beneficial and yield more profit if you actually trade on cryptocurrency I've been trading since the dip, and I've made so much profit trading.
@@mortenbolin7481 How does this whole process works? I'm interested in investing in crypto but still confused by the fluctuations in price🙁
@@commerceusa that's why you need the help of a professional like Mr Dave Jevans who trade and understand the market more to earn good income, these professionals understand the market like it's there own farm and make s maximum profit for investors.
He has really made a good name for himself.
Trading crypto with Expert Dave Jevans has being a game changer for me.
Weather the weather...is comments like that that makes me love your content 😁. Great job on the sign!
I worked for years @ a sign shop and we cut out brass letters by hand on a bandsaw the same way. Now I use my CNC. I can appreciate both old school and new tech. Great JOB!!
Hey man love your work, I build wooden boats and work with epoxy a lot. Unless you used UV resistant epoxy it will change colour in the sun. Polyurethane over the epoxy protects it from the UV and you can use mat finish to get rid of the shine.
That’s good advice. Thanks
Came here to say exactly the same as OP
Would that also be a decent long-term treatment for a outdoor bench? I'm touching one up for a family friend and unfortunately couldn't find the wood I wanted, but also don't want her to have to reapply stain/waterproofing every year if I can save her the trouble
Afterthought: I'm definitely not using mdf for the bench xD I have some good cedar boards, I'm just thinking long term maintenance
Thanks for the advice I just made a boat paddle. I used spar. I might need to recoat with poly.
Use graphite powder to make the epoxy black AND UV resistant. It will become a matte finish as the surface epoxy breaks down. The brass powder may work the same way. Polyurethane will eventually breakdown and need recoating.
Laughed out loud at the swipe at Cam at Blacktail Studios! I was thinking about him as you blew up that river table with JKM last week.
Cams channel is great! Unapologetic cause he's getting paid! I admire his honesty! Cheers Ian👍
This guy is the Bob Ross of woodworking. So soothing to watch and listen to.
The woodworking internet requires a Bourbon Moth and Black Tail colab!!
“I wonder if Cam over at Blacktail Studios knows that” 🤣🤣🤣 Funny as hell. Especially because I mostly watch his channel and this one and enjoy both immensely. You cats should do a project just because it will be hilarious
Jason I have a totally new respect for you. It isn't much but it's there.....I can't ell you how much I hate epoxy river tables and your dig at Cam at the end of your video was GOLD. I actually do like his videos and I've followed him for around 1 year now but I'm burnt out from epoxy anything. Good job on your shop sign man
Once the sign's mounted, it'd be really cool to mark a spot on the ground for your tripod and take a photo from the exact same angle every couple of days for a timelapse of how it ages and weathers over the next few months.
The natural greying of the timber will make the letters pop , very cool I like it
Cheers from Aus
Boobrun Moth is now my 2nd favorite youtube channel!
That is genius.. cut partially through with a router ,let the jigsaw rough cut the rest and finish off with a flush trim bit. Thanks so much for that tip. Time saver big time!! You are awesome great work
As soon as you said "No I am not going over to the dark side", I immediately thought of Blacktail Studios. Then at the end you literally talked about Cam. I laughed out loud.
btw I am subbed to both Bourbon Moth and Blacktail Studios since I love watching both channels.
You're a real tease, Jason Hibbs, 'cos you heard us all yelling that the "N" was backwards, but kept on anyway! Nice work for your sign. Now we want to see it hanging outside your shop please.
Very nice!
Nice result! I'm more confident regarding weather proofing on your sign than on the one third coast craftsman did recently. And I enjoy your content as much as the one from blacktail studio as I have nothing against epoxy and river tables
Loving the logo! This sign came out awesome - 👏👏 for fun epoxy projects!
Oh snap. Ahoy, Total Boat!
This looks awesome. You really have a knack for breaking a project down into easier following steps and your approach to everything is awesome. I'm curious to your glue ups to when to use and not use dominos / dowels for this.
Looks amazing. And I like the little shout out to Blacktail Studios. Would be really interesting to see a collaboration as you both make amazing pieces with very different approaches.
Yeah, I'd like to see him blow up one of Blacktail's tables.
No matter what you did my plan was to say it needs more epoxy. You win this round sir. Keep up the good work.
Powdered Brass??? that must be what my Dad got, to paint his real brass handles!! It took me days to take it all off again!! he is 94!! Didn't remember that you DON'T PAINT brass door handles!!!!!! I have confiscated the shed key, in case he has any other ideas!!!!
Excellent job. Love it!!
Brother my dream is to see you and Jay Bates to do a job together… you all would set a new standard for woodworking.
Great job. Liked how you “worked” the project out as you went. My biggest takeaway is how you made MDF work outside! That is genius. Thanks much.
Oh shots fired!!! Cam will need to have a CI back video on this one!!
Your boy is growing fast! Looking good
Instead of putting the spray glue on the piece, an old scrolling trick is to cover the piece with painters tape and glue the pattern onto that. Makes clean up way easier and faster.
I just used this technique making some logo signage for the company I work for! Works great especially when dealing with MDF.
That is an awesome sign. The matt effect works brilliantly. Great work.
Love your work and humor, adds that extra cream layer on top of my sunday morning coffee!
I have been building projects like this for years, all sorts of signs. Nice job! If anyone is looking for an easy cash cow this is the way to go. Find a print shop to print out whatever picture and size your looking for from google, or draw yourself and glue to a sheet of mdf for interior stuff.
Right On...Do you have some samples of the signs you make? Looking for some for my shop
Unless I missed it, you didn’t add any protection on the backside of the MDF. This will be a problem with the level of moisture that you have in Oregon. Otherwise, I think the sign turned out awesome! I hope it holds up over time. Certainly would love to see it in person whenever I make it there.
i love when you say accoutrements lol but i love you work and videos!
Dude, you have the most creative projects. Love your videos
Well done ! RThank you agagin for your video, I always like watching your feed.
Don’t think I’ve ever been this early to the playing with wood party.
Awesome sign! Fantastic job!
Boobrun?!🤣🤣🤣🤣 I about died!!!!
Jason, the new sign turned out great.
You built a freaking boat! You can handle a CNC machine. Cmon man!
love this video and instruction. also, love the bob ross impersonation.
I originally saw the backwards "N" and thought it was intentional, and would have made the sign unique, kind of like what the band Korn did with the "R". Also brushing the glued paper with a rag soaked in mineral spirits helps release the spray adhesive. If you get the paper stencil wet enough with the mineral spirits, the paper peels right off. It eliminates the needs for sanding the stencil off.
I just started a sign containing our ranch's brand. I've planed the wood background and was wondering what I should do for the brand... Thanks Bourbon Moth!
Love the Tiny Printed Jack Stands for the letters.
You can buy those at any box store. Used so you can raise a project up to paint or stain the edges and not stick to your work surface.
Rad sign and fun little project. Cheers.

Noticed the backwards “N” on boobrun lol. Always like you showing mistakes and how to fix them or just start over to make it right.

Nicely Done.
I enjoyed the call out to black tail studios. Funny!
Stayin' old school! Well done, young man. Another great project.
Amazing work and imagination
love your work dude
keep it rolling
Bob Ross of woodworking 🤣 I love it
I noticed the "N" was backwards but wasn't sure if it was done on purpose. Sign turned out amazing! Good job!
Absolutely fantastic 👌 Big hugs from Shropshire /North Wales Borders, UK 🤘
Well done. Very nifty, and a LOT cheaper than CNC.
boobrun is what im drinking after my fourth glass of bourbon! 😋
Very Cool. I like this process
Love this sign gives me an idea for my new office!
Makes me appreciate my CNC LOL. Great work!
Sign looks like you had too much of that bourbon. lol. I'm kidding. It turned out very nice. You earned some bragging rights.
love your work.
Love it. If you spray your epoxy with a satin polyurethane, you can get a matte finish without sanding (although, I know you secretly LOVE sanding :) ) and get some outdoor uv protection

-incredible!
Beautiful job jason!!!
I've made quite a few signs. Have few here now but don't actually know how to get pix on here ..but I've actually been using my coping saws for letters an such ...fun ...nice jb as usual moth
Your sign turned out great. Really nice work man.
Awesome! And an extra +1 for the Foreman!
BOOBRUN... LOL
Nice work! I may do something similar in the near future, thanks for the techniques!
BT studio dig was hilarious. Please tell me you guys are buddies...... lol
Great work, as usual. I love watching your videos.
As always, great project & excellent execution BMW! 👍👍🦋🦋
I recently built a sign for my lodge, and man, that was a lot of work. I planned on mounting it between two 4x6 posts, so it had to be double sided. I used PT 2x10's, planed them smooth and same thickness, jointed the edges, then glued it up. Slab was 4 feet by 6 feet. I then used a projector hooked up to my computer to show the images on the slab, then I traced over all the letters to transfer the image onto it. After some fine tuning, I got all the letters straight. Then I took my router and went to work, removing all the wood around the images so that they would stand out. After about a month and several router bits later, I had a sign. After some paint and mounting between the posts I cemented until the ground, I had a very nice sign. Since this is my hobby and I didn't ashtrays have time to work on it, this project took a little longer than I wanted, but everyone was very happy with it.
Heyyy you have a Harbor Freight scroll saw too! It matches your table saw!!
I have a scroll saw just like the one you have. Got it at Harbor Freight.
Titebond 3 is waterproof. I use it for trellises and outdoor carts. Works perfectly no failures yet in Oregon winters. Also, cedar really rarely warps unless it has a knot somewhere. If you look up woods movement charts it's a wood that moves very little. Like very very little compared to other woods
That turned out awesome!!!.
This pleased me. thank you.
Awesome video I really enjoyed it. You also name your tools the same way I do lol.
Nice sign, god job😊 Remember to use a protective mask when you sanding epoxi. The dust is carcinogenic.
Amazing as always. Great to see signs done without c n c machines
I use titebond III it’s waterproof. As to whether this will be wood that will weather the weather only time will tell. Then again that depends on the weather.
🤣🤣
@@Bourbonmoth I love the Forman need to see him more
Thank you for showing how to tackle this without a CNC. Not everyone has the budget or space for one.
Looks awesome
i know it might be bad as a wood wokrer but i use type 3 tight bond for wood work that i do so incase its outdoors or exposed to moisture the waterproof doesnt hurt. i just make sure i wipe and glue totgether before 5minute window
Waiting to see the new logo on some whiskey tumbler merch!
Thank you for this video. Amazing
Thanks for the class Great Job !
25:50 The end result looks sharp!
Just a suggestion: a tiny skull in that empty area at the top would pay good homage to the original sign.
That's the bees knees bourbon man!
That’s beautiful
That came out great! Nice work
Great video. You have convinced me to never do this type of project. LOL.
A much better use of epoxy than the River Table - looks great!
Very nice! Nice bandsaw work! (you might find jimmy diresta's method of doing letters on the bandsaw of interest). Keep up the great videos!!!
This is neat, looks great. In my experience, on boats, the epoxy is awesome at waterproofing but very bad at UV resistance. Might want to think about some kind of 2 party polyurethane clear coat.
I make wooden signs they are all free hand carved Love your channel would love to have meet and greet sometime. I'm down in myrtle creek Oregon
Such beautiful work, as always!
I thought for sure Jason was going to pull out the shaper origin. Good to see those bandsaw and scroll saw skills lol
You got the foreman to work, I love it
