Nice to see a video with clear camerawork, good explanations and no spurious 'gimmicks'. Will be very helpful as I start to replace a few panels on my car. Subscribed. Now to start through your back catalogue!
@MysterG Hopefully you will find something that is helpful. Some of the older videos are great quality. I would love to see pictures of what you are working on. If you get a chance shoot me some at robsrestogarage@gmail.com
When you got that outer sill clamped in place, I got as excited as you did. It just makes you feel good when things start coming together. As for my project, my time goal is to get 'er done before I kick the bucket.
Thanks Lloyd! Apparently I need to watch my own videos because I didn’t follow the same steps on the passenger side. The welder is a Hobart Handler 140. Nice little welder that does the job.
Looks great! I was half kidding last episode regarding a schedule. Lately, I'm seeing lots of stalled projects being sold as their owners/heirs do not have the skill or drive to accomplish what you are doing. Keep it up!
We have all seen the ads that read “too many projects to finish. This one has to go.” Translation- The project stalled and I’ve lost interest. I also love - “Ran when parked” I honestly don’t have a time goal to finish this thing. I try to work on it at least once a week. I am shooting to be done with the body work by the end of summer.
@@robsrestorationgarage Thanks, the original steel is so crappy that I’m having a tough time welding it. Keep blowing holes in it. Love your rotisserie, wish I had one!
I know what you mean. You have to just keep playing with the voltage and wire speed until you get it dialed in. Are you using gas or flux core wire? I found the gas to work much better.
@@robsrestorationgarage I’m trying to get the Sprite on the road by summer, but running into all kinds of issues. It had been sitting in a garage since 1986, the floors have all been patched up and the sills are toast, the rest of the car is in good shape. I’m putting new sills and floors plus a few other patches, have drivers side almost done. I also have another Healey I’ve been working on for a few years, it’s a 1965 Healey 3000. I’ll send pics.

Don’t get too excited it is only clamped in place. You’ve got plenty of time to reach your goal.
Hey Rob--- Just another Big Thank You For getting these Vids out on the Tube for Prosperity & All can use. BTW-- What Model # Hobart are you using ?

Hi Rob, enjoying your videos, I have a 63 Sprite that I am restoring, similar to your Midget.
What welding wire size are you using ?
I hope the videos are helpful. The wire size I am using is .030”
I would love to see pictures of what you are working. If you get a chance, email me at robsrestogarage@gmail.com
