    While I was having a morning walk I stopped in front of You Tube music awhile for sifting through all music presentations to find out anything which suited my tastes for listening to at home in the evening.Suddenly you appeared there and dragged me ( lonely walker) by my both hands and took me to your repository of classics. After making myself at home you switched on the video and the music started playing.Then you yelled at me " Enjoy the wonderful music,if you want" and immediately left the room.I was all alone in the room.The only consolation was that the wonderful music was of Boccerini's. During the pre- you tube era I had enjoyed Boccerini's minuet through a CD containing compositions of different maestros.Other than the minuet I didn't know any other compositions of Boccerini. Even after one hour of listening I didn't want to go.I heard out the presentation of more than three hours.Many of the pieces of fine music I enjoyed here were already heard by me through you tube live streaming but I was not aware that Boccerini was the composer of the enchanting music.Such a great composer who created the magnificent music! It was a memorable day for me knowing closely the great music of Boccerini. I don't know whom I should thank for this wonderful opportunity - luck or the lawbreaker who dragged me illegally and yet offered me this opportunity? Anyway, exceptional indeed your illegal activity of enchanting music lovers. This music lover was enamoured by enchanting music of Boccerini! I hope you will continue with this illegal activity - an activity in which the provoker is not the real beneficiary , rather all the benefits are accrued to the 'victim' , affectionately called aficionado of music.Wow.Bravo.Gfacias!!!

    Julius, a good friend of mine, was given access to this cello at the beginning of his academic career. While in Prague doing some research, he came across these works by Boccherini. The last time they were performed was by Boccherini himself on the same instrument Julius is using here. Thus the circle has closed.

    • @gollypo448
      @gollypo448 8 лет назад +27

      +Laurence Matson He plays the instrument beautifully. I can only imagine Boccherini would be overjoyed to see that his works (finally) and his old cello are in such safe hands.

      Hang on, anecdotal information from the time says that Dr Stephen Maturin used the same instrument on some of his voyages on the Surprise.

      There is a very famous painting of Boccherini, quite accurate for a painting, represents the cello well also. Do you have any idea if the cello your friend plays is the same cello in the painting?

    Boccherini est vraiment l'une des plus belles architectes musicales de son temps. Il y a quelques années, une très bonne amie m'a présenté ses œuvres. J’en serai toujours reconnaissant à son âme translucide et majestueuse, prématurément envolée

    Boccherini è semplicemente geniale; è l'inventore del quartetto moderno, e la sua musica, sempre originalissima, non ha assolutamente nulla da invidiare a quella di Mozart o Haydn...

      Ma infatti è colpa degli italiani se la nostra musica classica è sottostimata.
      È basta con questa visione germanocentrica del cazzo.
      Gli italiani vengono tutti prima dei tedeschi, e sono tutti più influenti.
      A cominciare da Palestrina e Monteverdi. Poi stradella, Corelli e vivaldi, poi boccherini, cimarosa, Pergolesi, ecc ecc.
      I tedeschi si muovevano su stilemi e schemi inventati dagli italiani.

    Unforgettable music and heartfelt musicality ... an upload for which I thank you deeply. This is surely a benchmark, especially given the provenance of the cello and the calibre of the playing. What is also remarkable is that people are still commenting on the beauty of Boccherini's music and Julius Berger's interpretation so many years after you first posted this. If I may add, I find the artwork puzzling.

    Boccherini was a cellist. All these concertos, all better than Haydn's and Dvorak's. And so much more pleasing to listen to. Why aren't these on classical radio from morning to evening? I also like Giuseppe di Majo's on RUclips a lot. And Leonardo Leo's are also a cut above the rest.

    La musica di Boccherini risulta largamente catalogata - con intenti pressoché liquidatori - come musica galante o, dai più indulgenti, come pre-classica. E' evidente che le composizioni di Boccherini mal si prestano ad essere incasellate negli schemi precostituiti dei musicologi e, forse, questo è uno dei principali motivi che essi non sanno perdonargli. Per quanto mi riguarda, provo disappunto per questa plurisecolare ingiustizia - sì, ingiustizia - perpetrata e proseguita nei riguardi di un immenso artista e riservo un mio personale compatimento (che peraltro, lo riconosco, non è un nobile sentire) nei confronti di coloro che per pressapochismo, opportunismo o altro, non sono in grado di percepirne la grandezza.

    • @brunodonderi9869
      @brunodonderi9869 5 лет назад +3

      Questo succederà sempre finché si crederà alla balla inventata dai tedeschi che ci sia stato il "classicismo viennese": tutto quello che non rientra nei parametri di quella fantomatica scuola viene catalogato come corpo estraneo. Io credo che senza la scuola italiana (quella sì che esiste) non avremmo tanti capolavori della musica europea. Senza Corelli, Vivaldi, Marcello per non citarne che tre forse non avremmo certi capolavori di Bach e Handel. Mozart se non avesse frequentato la musica italiana, sarebbe rimasto un provinciale maestro di cappella della provinciale Salisburgo. Boccherini è stato un grande compositore, a mio parere originale, ma proprio questo lo condanna agli occhi di tanti musicologi. Io amo Boccherini più di Haydn e di tanti altri per le sue belle idee, la sua soavita', il suo brio sempre garbato. Grazie Luigi per tutte le gioie musicali che mi hai date.

      +rannoudanames That is pretty much exactly how I pictured that piece of the geography of Middle Earth when I first read lotr about thirty five years ago! Shows what great writing it is, as Tolkien used very few actual descriptions of landscape, and yet the impressions he's created in his readers over the decades have been remarkably consistent. All the illustrations that have been produced, not to mention the film, tend to be more consistent regarding the landscape than they are with the orcs or wargs for instance. Cheers for reminding me!
