This makes me think back many years ago when my greatest friend who I met in 1961 introduced me to classical music and who taught me how to listen to it and appreciate it. It opened so much joy to my soul. my friend has passed many years ago but whenever I listens to clasical music I do think about him. I am now 83 years old and will never forget him and his absolute love for classical music that brought life to my soul. R.I.P. Victor
My husband who unexpectedly died fourteen months ago played the horn, first learnt in the army at Kneller Hall in the college there. He had never had anything to do with neither the horn nor army prior to this. The sergeant said "you have the lips for a horn!" Actually he became very good and wasn't long before he became the 1st horn player. One day Denis Brain the fabulous French horn player for the Philomonic Orchestra heard him playing in an impropt group with three other musicians so had a chat with my husband...it wasn't long when as friends they played together for a short time. My husband was heartbroken when news came that one night after playing in Scotland Denis nearing home had a fatal car crash his horn lay on the seat beside him.
Concordo pienamente.
Thanks for this great Mozart Horn recording. It was my cheerful companion on my five-hour commute for years and probably saved me from traffic tragedies! Thank you very much
Nothing like him. And no ads! I'm glad you haven't fallen into the trap of making a packet over great composers' legacy! Good for you! Have added to playlist.
What's so extra nice about the horn concertos is that they were written for Mozart's friend Joseph Leutgeb whom he had known since childhood. And he even wrote the last one easier to play as his friend was getting on (the K412 numbered #1 but was left unfinished in 1791).
Mozart schenkte uns solche wunderbaren Werke.
.yes, it is hard to say anything but celestial.., and I am 60y an amateur horn player..(veterinarian for living ..haha) it is all sound, I can hear his horn even when he rest and orchestra takes the role.. He sounds beyond the real, but John Carminaro and Dale Clevenger found the same, so it's got to be something...
This is some music for elevators. luckily Mozart composed so much of this that it's enough for all elevators in the United Stated and also all parkings included.
Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Compositions: Horn Concertos #1-#4 EMI, Angel Records, November 1953. Horn soloist: Dennis Brain Orchestra: Philharmonia (London) Conductor: Herbert von Karajan
The hand position is incorrect,it isn't even Dennis Brain's horn. The instrument in the photo,is a 4 valve double horn. On this recording he played on an Alexander model 90.
Yes, they probably asked a struggling artist if he wanted to earn a few bucks, and he agreed to dress up and pose with a French horn. Asking what to do with his right hand, he was probably told "Just put it inside the horn. That's what the professionals do. Everyone will be convinced you really are a musician!".
Obviously, they both are. Wolfgang was and is a superstar, but Leopold is something new to me. I also enjoy G.P. Telemann, and his concerto for hunting horn.

The horn is such an underrated instrument! Beautiful pieces like this deserve a lot more recognition.
Bravo il M,,congratulazioni. Da. Francesco Domenico Longo daTaranto
The wonderfulness and Beauty of Mozart’s music will quench and moisturize the parched soul of us earthlings
Excellent horn. And Mozart, Mozart simply never disappoints!

70 years since and the grace of the overall performance remains blissfully unmatched.🙏🙏

I said to myself this is without any doubt Dennis brain, my hero for 7 decades 👍
Mozart surely wrote the most perfect music ever composed... He enriched the world with so many beautiful melodies which will endure forever.
Thanks for this great Mozart Horn recording. It was my cheerful companion on my five-hour commute for years and probably saved me from traffic tragedies! Thank you very much
Music doth hath of the power over the savage breast.

When i was a teenager, the horn fascinated me badly. And now is the same reaction. I am very happy not mention it s but Mozart. Thanks
The opening movements from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th takes me on a drive on the blue ridge parkway! wow!
Nothing like him. And no ads! I'm glad you haven't fallen into the trap of making a packet over great composers' legacy! Good for you! Have added to playlist.

Mozart is a rockstar!
Love Mozart 's music !❤
Brain is the best. Undestated and perfect. A magic moment is the very end of Strauss #1 -- there is run that gives chills.

For some reason the sound of the horn fill out my soul and I will lessen by hours before getting sleep.
Mozart semplicemente ti adoro.

👌👌👌
❤❤❤❤
❤🙏❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Apparently he didn't compose anything, he merely copied what was already flowing from his mind. I guess you could call it "pre-composed".
Why is the hand positioned in the bell?
Thumb, trigger valve.
Where do i find all these concertoes? Thanks again.
Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Compositions: Horn Concertos #1-#4
EMI, Angel Records, November 1953.
Horn soloist: Dennis Brain
Orchestra: Philharmonia (London)

👍👍👍👍
Is no one talking about the hand position in the bell on the photo….💀

@@davidbrowne5222 ❤
Clearly this is a "cover model" ....and NOT who is actually playing...That hand position is blasphemous 😅

So who is better? Leopold Mozart or Amadeus?
Obviously, they both are. Wolfgang was and is a superstar, but Leopold is something new to me. I also enjoy G.P. Telemann, and his concerto for hunting horn.
Consideren que es una foto NO ES LA INTERPRETACIÓN
Its just for show😢
Would it not be naturel to write who plays and conducts???
Dennis Brain horn, karajan conductor, philarmonia orchestra, year 1952.
Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Compositions: Horn Concertos #1-#4
EMI, Angel Records, November 1953.
Horn soloist: Dennis Brain
Orchestra: Philharmonia (London)
Conductor: Herbert von Karajan
A bit too Fast for me.
Free Russia von Putin... Thanks Mozart
Thank you for you. 👍
