I lost track of Glass years ago because, thanks to RUclips, I discovered so many other musical wonders in all kinds of genres. Today, I'm rediscovering Glass, and mostly because of hearing his 10.000 Airplanes On The Roof with the amazing Linda Rondstad again.
    Glass is absolutely addictive.
This symphony reminds me a bit of what he did for the movie Secret Agent. That one is also beautiful, but more subdued, more hypnotising.
Can somebody PLEASE upload that soundtrack? I lost the Minidisc on which I recorded Secret Agent...

      10,000 Airplanes?
I have the CD. It just got lost among 10, 000 other CDs. I gave it a more prominent place, so the little box can scream at me: "Play me, play me!" 🥰

O yes! My other favorite Glass! Sooo beautiful!
I have the full soundtrack on a miniDisc, but the player went kaputt, and no one sells them anymore. But I just found a streamer site that has the 16 tracks. Happy!

I listened to this live in Canterbury Cathedral. It was _phenomenal_ , I never realised 8 Cellos could do such a thing...
I can categorically say, as much as you are enjoying this in a recording it's _nothing_ compared to hearing this live, with the band, and with it played so well in person. My Goodness.

Philip Glass gets you to see that a LOT of instruments can do things we never thought they could. Pianos, flutes, xylophones, all the strings, even vocal parts like in Liquid Days. The performers all have their own kinds of genius too. I am so jealous of these musicians I could just cry.

whereas mozart, for example, is always an entirely new, different, piece every time, eh? or maybe someone suffering dead ear syndrome wasn't hearing well, or with little acuity- like there's a huge difference between, say, firebird and sacre - point yet? or kanye sounds new everytime and never ever ... never mind - there's just good taste, and there's the lack - preference, on the other hand, is something entirely different - better to say you personally don't prefer it. it hides one's lack of sophistication well enough to sink back into the background without making such a ruckus.
