Greetings from France - because I haven't seen my country in the comments (selfish, I know) - That adagio at 3'52 can do almost anything. It can make you take the right decision for something important, it can make your mental clarity better, it can make the world bearable, it can make you try to be a better person, it can make you heal something horrible that you have to live with, it can make you see something in yourself that you didn't know. It's a bit like what Jerry Lewis said (quote) : Adrenaline is wonderful. It covers pain. It covers dementia. It covers everything.
My wife is 8 months pregnant and as she was driving today, she got involved in a terrible head collision accident. Her car was pushed away 15 metres away while she was inside. I thank God she survived and the baby is okay. God is great.
The genius of Bach is in a perfect matching harmony line, chord progressions, and melody. It all works so well together that I never get tired of listening to him. The music just takes over your thoughts and moves you in the right direction. Everything is logical and mathematically correct. A wonderful stylish performance, amazing sound balance.
It's way more than that. You might have that feeling but it's also reflection on the loss of the fight, the meaning of it and the why the fight took place in the first place.
Truly needed this because life has been overwhelming. I hope all of the people feeling like this will be able to rest and feel calmness within their surroundings and themselves.
(Brasil)
Perfect Bach, there is no sadness, beauty or hate in his music, just perfect harmonies. Other composers can trigger different emotions to me but Bach is just eternal and lineal harmonies of perfection.
His Chaccone from violin partita no.2 in d minor can create a mournful tone and emotion, likely to represent the death of his wife to which he wrote it at the time.
The highest level of appreciation I can give to a piece of music is that I would use the last minutes of my life to enjoy it and then die, and Bach's violin concertos fits that standard.
So gentle and light Brandenburg Concerto No.5 of J.S. Bach recently in Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Enjoy it please ruclips.net/video/Ca3BV-TVGKw/видео.html
I totally agree! I work more efficiently while listening to this music, it gives me the ability to concentrate on what I am doing and to concentrate on the music as well, I find my fingers and head moving in rhythm to the melodies! I am just starting to learn to play the violin at the age of 44!!! wish me luck!!
For many, maybe most, this is unfortunately not the case. Instead of maturing with age, their artistic sensibilities atrophy at some point, and music, for these people, are mostly a source of nostalgia for times past, or something to be consumed in a hurry like pop music -this instead of a means toward gaining a more transcendental perspective of life via a communication that appeals to the more spiritual aspects of our being.
AnonyiestMousse. Thank you, I did not know that. I am sure that heaven is full of the most exquisite music. Indeed, I think earthly music at its best draws us up there. I think it was the ancient Zoroastrians who called heaven "The house of song". As a Christian, I can understand that to be so.
Why so few can touch our souls the way Bach does? isn't that amazing? after all the massive amount of culture humans continuously produce, still this man, long dead, beats them all.
Time travel is possible which means that there is a point in space time that Bach is still alive and in that sense...bach really does live forever...and man is still..but a breath....
Funny, to some people Bach's music is relaxing. To me it's rhythm and energy, like the joy of driving a little fast on a winding road: concentration and deep enjoyment.
That's why music is universal yet individual. One can react one way or another to music. Some people say metal is "relaxing" while my heart skips 5 beats every time I try it.
When these genius composers created their masterpieces back then, I imagine they didn’t have an orchestra right there besides them to try things out….so they kind of had to hear it all in their heads before it was even played by an orchestra. I don’t know, I could be wrong about that. But what geniuses!
Hi David; …you are right!!; when we think about their struggles, their health, children running around!- Many years ago when I gave one of my first talks about the Baroque Period it was difficult for some listeners to accept the imperfections of some composers, their romanticism, etc.; now young people(and old ones like me) have you tube. If you can watch John E. Gardiner’s talks about Bach….wonderful work!. Take care, stay safe.
Of course they did but without emotional feeling to inspire them to write the notes that where in there heads with it would be difficult but imagine all that music playing I your head with all those instruments and having to find the notes and scales to help you along the way to get it right. Imagination the best tool with the right know how and common sense can reap great joy from your hard hard efforts.
Bach was a musical prodigy, like Beethoven, Handel, and all those other composers. To be able to envision a masterpiece before it was even written is testament to how intelligent people used to be before technology came along.
@@jebbroham1776 well, it's not like that too, first of all, he was, indeed, a master of composition, i'm not denying that, but for most of his life he was not completely deaf, his hearing loss startet at his late twenties and progressed thorugh the years till almost the point of complete deafness, but honestly, from a certain point on, regarding composition, you don't need your hearing all that much once you have all the intervals internalized, you can "hear" them without the need to actually hearing the notes, that's just training, and then there's the fact that the media also uses musics that are not exactly "masterpieces" so having your music being used by the media doesn't actually mean all that much by itself, again, i'm not saying he wasn't good, he was really a great master, but all that came with many many hours of study and training, it's not some kind of magic like i said, there's still people doing as good work as beethoven did, they just are not as famous as him yet
For me Bach was a genius and I deeply admire many of his musical works. But I honestly think some of these concertos are among the most sublime and beautiful pieces written by him. The heartfelt purity by the violin in some places is frankly quite touching and everlastingly affecting.
@@brendagilbert4304 That's the thing with Bach: he included some pieces of unearthly beauty in the middle of quite excellent works in an almost nonchalant way. All of his music is intelligent, complex, brilliant, balanced, and creative. But some works really do pop out of nowhere and leave you stunned. The second movement of Bach's Double Violin Concerto has such pure beauty. The intimate conversation between the violins reaches a pinnacle. Some have compared this movement to lovers, and not without reason. Those who claim that Bach was nothing but dry mathematics are solidly refuted.
As a person starting his career as a Translator and Reviewer for translations; this type of elegant music is exactly what I need to help me focus on finishing my quota of words everyday and get ahead in my job.
I usually listen cantatas and organ music from Bach and the piano is my favorite instrument. Yet now, that I am 70 years old, I just realized that I might have died before discovering this noble tenderness that lifts up my sole. My appreciation to the artists playing the concertos and for the video !
Whenever I see people slamming music I like, or ignoring any music uploads I do, I take comfort in that JS Bach probably the greatest composer ever wasn't appreciated to a great degree in his own lifetime.
The best thing about Bach is that it never feels like the music is trying to invoke any specific emotional response. His work is cold, mathematical and seems disinterested in the human condition which makes it feel ethereal...
I have bad insomnia & this is the only playlist that lets me sleep peacefully without later waking up! I love it! Thank you for playing so beautifully!
Music is a gift from God! There are so many reasons for Him to bless us with music, and I'd expect relief from anxiety to be one of them. Trust God and your anxiety will literally disappear. Stress is a different issue xD but God can overcome anything if you let Him work in you. "And we know that in all things," (even though anxiety) "God works for the good of those who love Him" Romans 8:28. Lasting change, everlasting change even, can only come from God
Unlike the previous dude, I believe the human spirit can overcome all obstacles, rather than needing a divine being to work for you. Just gotta think positive, do the things you enjoy, and be with the people you love. Thats what helps with anxiety at least. Wishing the best for you
All *musicians* owe a large debt of gratitude to Bach; at least, all those contemporary with and succeeding him. Later classical music grew out of Baroque, and modern music eventually out of that. They were all inspired by those before them, eventually leading back to Bach, who probably has single-handedly inspired more musicians than anyone else in written history; whether it be direct or indirect. The man is a genius whose memory shall only die with humanity's.
Bach is a culmination, not a beginning of the Baroque era. He brought the already present style to its apex. Of the great Baroque masters, Händel lived less than a decade longer than Bach, and already a few new styles were developing. Indeed, J. S. Bach was far less known as a composer than his far more popular sons Carl Philip Emanuel and Johann Christian, who were the greatest influences on Haydn and on Mozart.
Albeit I share your appreciation for JSB, your statement is an anachronism. Bach lived at the conclusion of the baroque period, so he owes a lot to his predecessors! His successors, of course, are infinetely indebted to his grand music.
@Kelly Fischer Lame. The same specious argument can be applied to Shakespeare -- as most of his works are the ideas and creations of those who came before him and from whom he "stole." He had very little original literature. Your same laughable conceit can be applied to Reubens, da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Titian who can lay no claim to originality because they are only standing on the shoulders of the cave dwellers who depicted images on the walls of their caves. You don't know what you're talking about. We get it.

Bold of you to assume that there's a galaxy where someone is bigger, brighter, warmer than Bach. Lol.
I started listening to Bach when i was 13 - now im 50. God, how the times change, but this music just gets more beautiful the older i get.
The highest level of appreciation I can give to a piece of music is that I would use the last minutes of my life to enjoy it and then die, and Bach's violin concertos fits that standard.

I used to hate classical music... I've found as you get older, you start seeing beauty in places you never stopped to look. This music is beautiful.
If the World hears you!
Believe you. I was the same way.

Funny, to some people Bach's music is relaxing. To me it's rhythm and energy, like the joy of driving a little fast on a winding road: concentration and deep enjoyment.
What is not funny is that to some people driving a little fast on a winding road causes diziness and sea sick.
That's why music is universal yet individual. One can react one way or another to music. Some people say metal is "relaxing" while my heart skips 5 beats every time I try it.
Thanks from India. No training in Western classical but adore Bach. So grateful.
They used some form of keyboard to realize it.
I'm aware of that.
Verdi had a piano at the end of his bed.

Musical instruments are tech also, very primal ones
well, people can still do it, it's not some kind of magic, just takes many hours of study and practice
@@San-lh8us Take Beethoven for example, he was deaf and yet he was able to create masterpieces that to this day are used in media.
Bach is quite above the other ones you quote; only Heinrich Schütz could be compared; Other composers seem so superficial

I agree, Pedro. In my opinion, the double violin concerto is absolutely the very best piece of music ever, ever, ever written
I agree with you!

I have suffered anxiety issues my entire life. This has been the only thing that works.

What a GENIUS ! ALL Baroque masters owe a large debt of gratitude to this the Grand Lord Of Music! Thank God for J.S. BACH!
Bach's greatness stands on the shoulders of Buxtehude.
@Kelly Fischer
Lame.
