My energetic 7 year old grandson was recently put on drugs so he would sit still in school. I wish his parents and the school would have tried Bach first. The expression "Music soothes the savage beast." came from Bach's era.
I have heard anecdotal evidence that playing Bach can calm down school pupils. It sounds like we both have deep reservations about the use of drugs to deal with short attention spans. I know that in my case, my attention deficit was not caused by any kind of disorder, but by early childhood trauma. Reading books, writing, listening to music like that of Bach, avoiding drugs and alcohol, and avoiding most social media has helped me a great deal.

Why don't they play music like this when we're out eating in a restaurant or shopping? This music makes me feel calm, relaxed and alive. The music they play here in the US is loud, obnoxious, says nothing and makes me want to run out the door. So glad I found this to listen to today. Peace everyone.
The reason they play that type of music is the same reason they play fast music in grocery stores: unconciously you speed up and leave sooner. Makes room for another guest.

It is healing song. I would not call it relaxing music. This music makes you think,feel and live,no matter what. In any case Bach will be forever the best musican who could so deeply touch the soul of person of any nationality ,age or social status. I have end stage Adrenal Failure. So i lay here in bed - at least i am in my own home. And wonder whether my Loving G-O-D will take me today or tonight or if some how I will come through. It’s such a sweet time listening to Bach. Although Brother Beethoven is my Favorite lol.

Bach's music is so wonderfully soothing, and so beautiful. Years ago, when going through a divorce I could not sleep. My sister brought me all her Bach CDs, and I played them at night. Last year in late April, my elderly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with cancer had a seizure and sharply declined over the couse of the following two weeks. During that time, he spent a lot of time on my lap listening to this music. I know it was soothing for us both and helped me so much when it was time for him to pass over the Rainbow Bridge. Listening now, almost a year later, this music brings me right back to those precious last moments with my little friend, my heart. Rest in peace, Charlie (10-4-08 to 5-10-23). I hope I see you again someday. Thank you for this magnificent music and all of its power.

Bach was a great secretary; he took down God's dictation note for note, leaving nothing out. I feel as if I'm listening to purified inspiration and the arrangements are lovely. Thank you; I needed to chill out and I did.
Bach is hands down my favourite composer. He is my happy place. To wake up to or go to sleep to or if I need to take a few minutes during the day, Bach is it. I listen and for a while the world is a better place.
I always say - everything starts with Bach and ends with Bach. Cannot listen to it without tears. Heavenly, angelic! Bach stirs my soul unlike any other. I first heard "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" on a Walkman on a Christmas collection CD by I think the London Philharmonics Choir. The tune just resonated with me immediately and has stayed a favorite since. This is a lovely playlist. Great background for when I am working. I'm from Uganda.

My energetic 7 year old grandson was recently put on drugs so he would sit still in school. I wish his parents and the school would have tried Bach first. The expression "Music soothes the savage beast." came from Bach's era.
I have heard anecdotal evidence that playing Bach can calm down school pupils. It sounds like we both have deep reservations about the use of drugs to deal with short attention spans. I know that in my case, my attention deficit was not caused by any kind of disorder, but by early childhood trauma. Reading books, writing, listening to music like that of Bach, avoiding drugs and alcohol, and avoiding most social media has helped me a great deal.

Why don't they play music like this when we're out eating in a restaurant or shopping? This music makes me feel calm, relaxed and alive. The music they play here in the US is loud, obnoxious, says nothing and makes me want to run out the door. So glad I found this to listen to today. Peace everyone.
The reason they play that type of music is the same reason they play fast music in grocery stores: unconciously you speed up and leave sooner. Makes room for another guest.

Last year in late April, my elderly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with cancer had a seizure and sharply declined over the couse of the following two weeks. During that time, he spent a lot of time on my lap listening to this music. I know it was soothing for us both and helped me so much when it was time for him to pass over the Rainbow Bridge. Listening now, almost a year later, this music brings me right back to those precious last moments with my little friend, my heart. Rest in peace, Charlie (10-4-08 to 5-10-23). I hope I see you again someday.

I first heard "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" on a Walkman on a Christmas collection CD by I think the London Philharmonics Choir. The tune just resonated with me immediately and has stayed a favorite since. This is a lovely playlist. Great background for when I am working. I'm from Uganda.
