One of the best paying and easy jobs I've ever done was delivering hospice medication on a motorcycle. Riding all over southern California was fun, the pay was great, and I had to quit after 2 months. When everyone you are interacting with is close to someone who is dying, or they themselves are dying it gets incredibly depressing VERY fast. Everywhere from three story mansions in gated communities to halfway houses in some of the worst neighborhoods; everyone dies and sometimes it is a long painful process.
Yup, I have huge respect for anyone who has to routinely deal with death and despair - so doctors, nurses, hospice workers, etc. I'm nowhere near emotionally strong enough for it and it would wreck my mental health

Hospice is tough man. I used to volunteer there as a companion for about a year. You'd hang out with people that were dying and just be with them. Talk about whatever they want. Just let them get their final thoughts out to someone who would listen before they pass away. Some stuff is just heavy to be around. This is a mild story in terms of badness but I hung out with this one guy once who just finished his MD-PHD. That's basically being in med school for six or 7 years before you graduate. Busted his ass his entire adult life and right as he finishes, boom, terminal brain cancer out of nowhere. Never got a chance to be a doctor. He was lined up to do important medical research and save lives like he always wanted and that opportunity was robbed from him. I have pretty thick skin but even I got upset at just how deeply unfair life can be sometimes.
Anyway what I'm trying to say is no shame in not wanting to be around that. I'm sure you brought meds to kids too which is its own special kind of hell. God bless and hope your new job is treating you better.

As a therapist of 25 years, I can honestly say that I have never seen so many people struggle with mental health issues. My waiting list is a mile long. Most therapist that I know have said the same thing. It's like the sky has fallen.
Hey, business is booming! I feel like it isn't so much that the number of people with mental health issues are increasing (though I'm sure it is to some extent), but moreso that discussing and working on mental health is a more acceptable and less stigmatized part of society nowadays and so more people feel comfortable reaching out for help when they're struggling.

I have been preaching this for so long and it feels like this rhetoric of “sexual positivity” and “empowerment” is really to gain all the fun and benefits but to be free of consequences.
A few of the things I'm most proud of up until now in my life concern quitting.
Quitting a job where my boss disrespected me so much he cussed me out in front of clients.
Quitting a bachelors degree after almost halfway through even though I got good grades because I found something that I knew I could put my heart into.

I actually really relate to what she said there, mostly in regards to school. I had this type of never quit mentality growing up, maybe in part due to me being extremely successful in my early school years and not having experienced failure as a consequence. My notes had been declining throughout high school, and when my time came to graduate, I still had zero clue what I wanted to do with my life, ultimately deciding to try studying computer science hoping I would get invested in the program and succeed. Although I didn't necessarily hate it, the investment definitely wasn't there and my performance was abysmal. I had to stop and think about my situation now that my money was involved, and I realized there was no good reason for me to continue. I was looking at years upon years of failing and retaking classes if I didn't drastically increase the time I dedicated to my learning, I wasn't even sure this would end up being something I wanted to make a career out of, and the whole experience would drain tens of thousands of dollars from my bank account. I just need more time to try different things and see what I'm really passionate about, so I made the decision to quit after my second year. Sometimes, it's not about failing to accomplish something great, but rather understanding whether or not that accomplishement is really worth the cost.

For example, in France they have at least 6 weeks paid vacation a year, quality food and quality interactions and chill with loved ones and various friends. The full-time work week is just 35 hours there, and yet they have a pretty high GDP compared to most of the rest of the world. Dutch people clock out exactly at the time that is written in their contract and then they do lots of sports and socializing always during their free time. The Spanish have longer work hours, but a chiller vibe to it, and in whatever street you walk across Spain you can make new friends and live cool adventures and often there is a party going on non-stop in the streets.
Work is important, but life is way more than just about work.

Health insurance is pretty low (between 100/200 euro) and pretty much everything is covered by it. I studied Software Engineering, started in 2016 and finished all college classes in this first quarter of this year 2024. I would have been better in a scientific career or a theorical one. Yet, some people may not know how horrible I feel about it. But it is still a mistake to get into a career that was not what I was expecting. Back then, I thought there was a higher diversity of development jobs and then I realize most of all the positions were related to Websites (I hated then and still hate today how they are made). My first impression of coding was electronics and micro controllers, CNC machines programming and other material stuff, then picture me to see how the robotic industry is slow and purposely under developed by corportations. Video games were my alternatives, but then I started seeing how the industry increasingly became more and more corporate greed, clutter creation, fake resources consumption (inefficiencies by design, better graphic cards and the graphics are the almost the same, at times worse by the year, it's a coding problem by greed design).
If I have chosen chemical engineering, medicine, astronomy, aerospace engineering, material science... my life would have been different, however, I would also not be a person I admire. That's where I think she's proud, because she feels her own person. Where I disagree with her is that she's blackpilled about many things and misguided about others, like the men she finds in her DMs tend to be mentally illed. I would be a guy that may or may not like her content, free or paid, as I have not issues with highly graphic erotic content, yet I also would not be an idiot with not face who write stupid stuff to her, or worse fap to her content while calling her to be trash or a worthless person for doing the very content I used to fap to, as probably do the ones who consume her content.

@@DecoyVoiceI was just "local famous" for a few years because of a business I ran for a local charity group and having people you don't know come up and invite themselves to your house or ask to get in free or their girls calling you when you didn't give them your number gets to you. Normal life just goes straight out the window and when they figure out who your family is and they start equating your actions with your parents parenting skills, it gets hard. Even if you tell them it's you, and your family has nothing to do with it it doesn't matter. They will think what they want about them and you. I basically had to go into hiding to try to get a "normal" life back. And then when it's gone and your old news part of you really does miss the spotlight and special treatment. It really is like you can't win. ALOT of people wonder why I didn't achieve what they already had and it's like drinking the finest cognac and then see everyone else is drinking water. Until you get super thirsty, you don't want it and you have to force yourself to drink. The spotlight is a mistress that pays for you and sleeps with you for free and invites her girlfriends to share you. After a while, you realize she's just using you and can never truly love you for you. But no other women can top her so you have to just walk away while you can before she uses you up.

People who have regrets doing stuff like OF are sadly the kind of people who never really look 10 years ahead into the future or take the thought of it seriously. These people usually think like they're still kids in elementary school who think that when they grow up into an adult they become a new person with a new life in a new place, and with a new blank slate to work on their new person. These people fail to grasp the concept that they only have 1 life right now and that life is a continuous river and anything they do upstream will always be seen downstream by everyone, that life isn't a movie that when they had enough life just cuts to the next scene of them in a new country living a totally different and happy life sipping champagne in an luxurious cabin living a nice and cozy life or bringing a turkey to the dining table where their family is excitedly waiting.
