    Some of y’all in the comments are tripping heavily. This man is a great father and everything Aba said was directly on the money. At a certain point you have to decide what’s important to you and unless your pride is truly more important than your relationship with your child you have to accept when they make choices you disagree with.

      Different values for different folks from different cultures. To some hes great, to others hes horrible though personally I could never say "i support you doing OF", I can get behind not cutting off my daughter because she chooses to do it. It would be a big point of contention and discussions.
      Some people really would disown their children for it, I've seen parents disown their kids for much less. Others are just fronting in the comments because forget having a daughter, many of them never touched a woman & others would accept the child begrudingly.
      The truth is, there are no correct answers, just different values and different lines you cant cross accordingly. Thats why some parents support their kids even if the go shoot up a school, others get rid of their kids if they leave the religion and some draw the line at very little and abandon their kids over nothing.

      Society already failed at protecting children before. It’s gonna be a cycle. It’s the sex work industry that’s corrupting families. It’s only a matter of time before more the government regulates sex work, bans it, and have influencers influence more children into sex work. Sex work has been constantly looked down upon because of family values and morals. Sex work is usually seen as a last resort for people who have no friends no life or family to go to.

    My older daughter has "assets" I'm sure she could capitalize on - she was offered an opportunity to pursue professional modeling a few years ago, but ultimately she decided to turn it down because she had committed to being in band and the modeling would not allow her any time for extra curricular school activities. I have always tried to teach her to have autonomy when it comes to her body, but also a great deal of self-respect. If she made the choice to start an OnlyFans, I'd ask her if it's something that she truly WANTS for herself and feels good about or if she's feeling desperate for money and this was the solution she came up with, because those are very different motivations. My love for her would be unchanged regardless, but if it's only about the money, I would try to help her brainstorm some less compromising solution. Thankfully, I have never found myself in this position - she doesn't generally flaunt her assets, and she's studying engineering, so she already has a solid plan for the financial side of things. :)

And these days I feel like *I* am the parent with how much damage control I do in the family because of the things they've done and their inability to properly own up to their mistakes. Plus the more you engage in a behavior, the more it is normalized to you and then the boundaries shift. The hard boundary becomes the middle. And then hedonistic adaptation comes in, you get used to the luxury lifestyle and start desiring more. One birkin isn’t enough, the new one is so much better. So then when some rich dude slides in your dms and offers to fly you somewhere maybe that doesn’t sound so bad? So yeah I too call BS on the “boundaries”

Why did the dad hear his daughter say that and think, we should have this conversation live and for the public on our podcast? I have a feeling this dad always had other things that were more important(such as his “podcast”) than properly raising his kids and that’s why this girl got seduced by outside influences.     Dear comments section saying this is a matter of *pride* ;
    I don't see this as a "putting down your pride" thing. Would you also just casually accept and explicitly say you "support" your adult child in their choice to surgically remove a limb for an "alien aesthetic". Or if they wanted to sell organs on the black market? Sounds like extreme examples but where exactly is the line when it comes to sitting back and supporting your child destroy themselves without putting up one heck of a flashing "stop sign" in their face.
    I mean Dad basically just accepted it all at once. It was that easy! What kind of a message does that send? "This is ok". That's what.
    Just because it's 2024 and it's adults we are dealing with, or even our family... doesn't mean we have to instantly accept everything.
    We rely on those closest to us to push back on us in a healthy way. If they dont- who will?
    It's not a pride thing. It's a parent's job thing. Which doesn't end in adulthood, transforms sure. But there's a big range of loving responses that can still bring a reality check into the picture.

    Her saying "but I have boundaries" means nothing and is laughable. How many girls have said that and slowly crept from just taking pictures to just taking bikini pics to just topless to just nudes then pron? Its a slippery slope and if she starts to think she's not making enough money doing "just modeling" then she will slide further and further to the pron route. Parents, especially fathers, are there to guide their children in the right moral direction in life. Thrusting her into a social media spotlight on a father/daughter podcast has paved the way for this behavior, but its sad that he doesn't understand that.

      What? What is he going to do? She is an adult! All he can do is warn and encourage her not to make that choice.
      It's not her father's fault that she decided to do OF; that's her decision. That's just bizarre to say that doing a podcast or having a social media is a slippery slope for girls to do OF. Correlation is not causation. Women and men have been prostituing and doing porn for thousands of years before social media or podcasts were even thought of.
      This is a common problem in today's culture. Some generations are 28 years old, still blaming their parents for why their life is shit. This is why children grow up to be horrible adults; everything is everyone else's fault. Personal responsibility is of the utmost importance.
      Our childhood and parenting does influence our decisions and character as adults in several areas, but that doesn't apply as adults to Shirk responsibility. We can have baggage but that still doesn't make our parents responsible if we decide to do porn. Also, I never did porn. I don't have an OF, and I had a difficult childhood.

      Acceptance is the furthest thing from "what's best for her". What's good for her is to be an upstanding and responsible adult. Once she is old, her beauty gone, and can't find a decent job to support herself, the first place she will run to is home, where she was not dissuaded from making these decisions.

      I honestly think the "weirdos" aspect is the least destructive thing in this situation. The fact that there are literally kids killing themselves because their moms were literal W-h-r-s, and her reputation will be permanently damaged in the future is far worse, and the loss of reputation is 99% likely.

    • @Lurklen
      @Lurklen 7 месяцев назад +2

      I mean, she can encounter weirdos anywhere, including in more traditional and "respectable" jobs. She's right, she does have assets, and she's at the age to benefit from using them. Potentially she could reap massive profits from relatively few costs. Depending on the content she produces, this could have minimal blow back on her, and while there is risk from online predation, she's already crossed that Rubicon by being an online personality. If she handles her online presence responsibly, this is likely a good financial decision. If she plans to hold future office, maybe not, but otherwise it's unlikely to hurt her prospects long term.
      If he's taught her well, and she makes a large amount of money from this, she can be set for life for her other prospects. She just has to keep in mind this job (like most jobs) has an expiry date, and entertains a certain amount of risk.

    It’s just a shame because the “boundaries” usually change. If she does it and it’s not producing what she expected then what? She’s already out there might as well up the ante? Theirs going to be sacrifices she will need to make and hopefully she will take those into consideration before making a decision where those sacrifices will not be voluntary anymore.

    I have a daughter. I think about this already. I have to be honest, the way that the OF has been accepted out here and how some women are pushed into feeling they should do it for extra fame doesn't sit the best with me. I feel it can mess up someone's life having that content out there and not enough people are thinking about that.
    I would be upset. I think I would try to steer her against it and try to educate her on the whole industry and the dangers and try to deter her. Ultimately though, if she still decided to, I would have to treat it how this dad did. I wouldn't want to push her away or make her feel like she couldn't come to me if something did happen and she needed help, as a parent. I feel one of my biggest jobs as a mom is to be there for her whenever she needs me, even in adulthood. So I think that would be my first priority.
    I also agree with what Aba said about how at a certain point, as a parent, it's not your decision how kids live anymore and you can accept them as they are and love them and be there or you can turn away. I would hope most parents would want to be there, no matter what. I like to think I have unconditional love for my daughter. UNCONDITIONAL - means NO conditions whatsoever. So, that means in anything she does.
    I have to say, I even thought about what if my daughter DID murder someone, would I still be there? I probably would. I would be at every court hearing and etc. I would not agree with what she did and she would know and I would be really disappointed she threw her life away but at the end of that day...if that's her life now, I want to be a part of it because she's my daughter and I love her. That's real. That's unconditional. As a parent, I think that's necessary.
    Hope that opinion helps. I'm a mom who was adopted and so my daughter's and my bond is very special to me. IDK if that means anything here with that but to me, that's the most important bond I have in my life and I would rather not break it for anything.

    • @ninvusoogoar6098

      love is 100% conditional by its very nature for one... 2nd of all if going into sex work is one of the most selfish and self destructive things you can do to not only yourself, your family but your future kids....
      also before you or someone replies back saying something dumb like "you are wrong, love is unconditional!" then ill have to reply with
      do you love me the same way you love your own daughter? if the answer is no then congrats! you discovered a condition! and thus love is conditional
