She actually said that during the same interview.
""Why is every pretty girl with a horrible-looking man, I don't understand," she said during the interview. "Listen, I'm not shaming people for their looks, but I am though. You give an ugly guy a chance, he thinks he rules the world," she said. "I swear to god, because they got a hot girl, they can be horrible? Like, you're still ugly though." She went on to reference the size of men's genitals, suggesting it's something they would have to "make up for."

This girl was home-schooled and got famous at 16. It's very likely that most of her "real-life" interactions are the young women at her shows to whom she's some sort of demigod. Not surprising she'd be that out of touch with reality.

I've never considered myself an attractive man, but earlier this year, my best friend told me that people used to ask him why he hung out with me under the pretext that we are polar opposites of attractiveness. And that was mostly by women. I cannot imagine how much that has affected his state of mind and confidence (which he admitted it did), but it goes to show that "girls" aren't inherently "nice because they see you for who you are".

I started balding when I was like 22. I been shaving my head for years. I'm happy enough with it, but when I explained to my girlfriend that people felt not only felt comfortable, but entitled, to make fun of you for it, she was entirely dismissive. Hair is one of the few points of vanity that men allow themselves, and it's the first thing to be made fun of when you lose it. It took her years to acknowledge all the teasing.
And that's all it is, teasing. I'm a grown man, and I'm secure with how I look; I can take a joke. But living in a society that is ready to cut my head off at any perceived body shaming, only to have those same people turn around and make fun of my hairline, puts a hair across my ass.
Edit: you know what, I'll put my money where my mouth is. I laughed at my neighbor's skinny legs when I saw him in short shorts. I'm just as guilty 🤷

If I may, I would offer to you that I think it might be the case that balding is a sign of stagnation in the lymph system. Since the kidneys are the gateway for the lymph to leave the body and they are so far away from the top of the head it can be quite difficult to bring hydration back to those hair follicles. There is also the challenge of whether or not we even have proper kidney function at all since it seems that most of us are in some form of renal failure. If I may, I would offer to you that nothing beats the proper hydration we get from fruits, berries, and melons but please bear in mind that it's important to support the function of the kidneys with proper herbs too. We can easily bring in more hydration to the cells but if our kidneys are not filtering out cellular waste then we end up with the symptom and the problem of edema. It's the chemistry we play with that determine the experience we are having.

I think in cases like that, it can also be about insecurity. She may have seen that you'd gotten in great shape and felt that she was no longer up to standard, and rather than improve herself it was easier to just make you feel bad about it, so that you put some of the weight back on.
Again not saying that definitely was your situation, but I have seen this play out in friends relationships before.

But people should also know that there are different levels of misery(which is already implied by saying we shouldn't make it a competition).
The problem is, we make it a competition, for example kids could be punished for doing something very bad, although punishment could be classified as misery, but people recognize that it is less misery than the alternative (the kid doing the wrong thing again)
So we do compare misery, judges do that all the time, but, although some misery is worse than others, we shouldn't deny the existence of the lesser one.

She's not exactly wrong with what she said either, at one point in history women and girls in china would bind their feet along with other insane stuff, if physical standards were the same back then or at any part in history men would not be able to deal, we already see how they feel about women preferring men who are decently attractive or tall which is human nature.

"Women are nice" I was bullied since the young age of 8 years old until my senior year of high school, I was bullied to a point that I have a nice ugly duckling syndrome and just now at 25 I am finally breaking from it, you know who bullied me all those years ? WOMEN, only in high school had some guys to bully me bc I was goth before being made cool bc "Wednesday" but women would bully me way more in high school and in middle school WERE ALL GIRLS and only one guy bullied me for my looks the other guys who bully me for random things about how I was weird and all in black, but who was talking and shaming my body, my hair, about how fat I was and so on? WOMEN, how many apologised to me? JUST ONE from middle school , NO ONE from high school apologised until this day for the ruthless bullying and even the attempt of physical abuse that I suffered and was saved by my uncle.

Men don't see that because they're not usually targeted for workplace/ school or social sabotage to the degree women are. Men think speaking to a woman makes them a target... BUT a woman simply has to EXIST as herself to become a target for hatred. That's it. Have confidence? You'll get targeted. Be natural? You'll be targeted. Put in effort? Targeted. Do a good job? Targeted. Be looked at by a guy that you don't even notice yourself? Targeted. Dare to breathe in the presence of other women? Targeted. It's truly fking wild.

You're 27. It's high time you stop putting so much stock into what people think. It's not too late to learn that lesson but you should have had someone sit you down and walk you through that a long time ago. The world has been like this since the start and it's not going to change in your lifetime, so build up your mental fortitude.
Funny story, I used to be at the bottom of every social totem pole when I was younger. I used to care a lot about everyone's opinion, always tried way too hard to fit in, male friends were fake and the highlight with females was the time Nisa Sargent spit on me because she thought I was disgusting. Over the course of a single summer I stopped caring what anyone thought, period. Stopped following/chasing things and people, stopped trying to impress others. If I had no friends at the time I just stuck to being alone. All my social issues disappeared after that summer. In fact, down to the end of high-school and all through college I was one of the most popular people (and in high-school that was actually a vote they had). I've met folks now who were fat, balding, had bad teeth etc, but everyone knew em and everyone liked em. I'm not a lot older than you. I had nobody to show me, I just kinda got tired trying to keep up and started doing my own thing, so I'm telling you...don't waste your time with the opinions of people you barely even know.
It's complicated but I've come to the conclusion that when you have a mindset like that, you yourself don't notice all the subtle things you put on display,. How you move, act, what you give off, it's like people can smell it on an instinctive level and they don't respect it/like it. I've done the same things when I was chasing fads and friends vs when I started not giving 2 shits, and people's opinions on it were completely different, as if it wasn't the exact same shit I was doing the whole time. Get your mind right. Your body will follow.

I was a size 36 D in the 7th grade, and not only did girls talk about me, I found out that guys had made bets about who would be the first to touch my breasts. Growing older, I was called Dolly Parton because I was skinny, with huge breasts, and I was so traumatized that i began wearing clothes 4x bigger than myself, to try and hide them.
I agree that everyone has body image issues, some are just less obvious than others.

I spent my entire summer vacation riding my bike for like an hour almost every day and I lost about 20 lbs. I wasn’t even skinny when I was done but I was bulky, but my dad still said that I looked better when I was chubby because that’s what his image of me that he was used to since I was like my entire life.

Taylor Lautner has a podcast with his wife where he talks about terrible body image issues and all the criticism he received for not being able to maintain the superhero body he had during Twilight movie fame days (which he had to train multiple times a day and follow crazy diets to achieve). Also, being sexualized at young age, etc. However, historically women do have to deal with more of an unrelenting focus on their body. There are different degrees, but everyone is struggling especially with social media and evolving culture.

Taylor and other actors benefit from something the slightly above average woman does. They can convert their attractiveness into resources. If men were given the same benefits for being slightly above average then we’d be just as focused on our bodies.

    • @ashac7183
      @ashac7183 9 месяцев назад

@@willdegra317 that’s true, but attractiveness does increase income and opportunities of all kinds for both men and women in all industries sometimes on a massive scale like models and celebrities. However, you don’t have to be above average in attractiveness or be in the public eye to have your looks and body be the constant, primary focus when you are a woman. Women at every level of attractiveness from homely, to plain to beautiful have the experience throughout life with their looks and body being the most important thing about them and the first thing they are judged for.

I've had body issues, they stem from me being short (I'm 5'6), I've been told by some women that I ain't that short, trying to reassure me, but I asked them all, "would you date at this height, and be BRUTALLY honest, I can TAKE IT" most of them said no, and the ones who said yes, idk if they were being honest or whatnot, but I took and accepted it. It was until about a year or so ago I was accepting of my height, and I even accepted it even more because a taller woman wants to go out with me. I was shocked that she found me attractive, and was completely fine with me being 5'6, I was relieved that I found someone who is giving me a chance. I'm talking to her as much as I can without being overbearing or even clingy, because in all honesty, she's a KEEPER.
