    By "clearing Paul's name" he meant "I hope that by killing my son, I won't be liable for the $50 million I'm being sued for" in the boat case. He didn't give a flea's a** about his son's name, he only cared about the money.

      Doesnt work that way, he was listed as a defendant, Pauls death would not have ended that case at all nor remove Murdaugh from it. Murdaugh got literally no gain from their deaths at all, it is what kicked off the investigation into his finances.
      There were alot of problems with this case if you watched any of it at all. Whether or not you think he killed them, the State did not meet their burden, which included prosecutorial abuse, literal physical impossibilities, and the State's own admission to reasonable doubt in their closing statements.
      The last point is the most important, if someone as well connected, criminally insane, psychotically intelligent (which he would have to be to pull off these murders) and wealthy can be convicted beyond a reasonable doubt, while the people accussing him are saying theres reasonable doubt, what can they convict you of?

    • @stephanwatson7902
      @stephanwatson7902 8 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely agree BUT he does care about clearing Paul's name, not because he cared about Paul, but because of the stain that boat crash put on HIS Murdaugh name

    • @stephanwatson7902
      @stephanwatson7902 8 месяцев назад +3

      Like one of the jurors said "If he didn't kill them, then how did he know exactly when to lie about not being there?"
      A father who's wife and son were murdered, doesn't sdays later say "The most important thing now is to clear Paul's name." if he was innocent the most important thing would be to find his child's killer.
      You can argue that it wasn't proven beyond a reasonable doubt, but he did kill his wife and son.
      And he did have motive, for a sociopath even the stain of Paul killing that girl, on the Murdaugh name, is motive. Then Maggie was digging in to his finances and soon would realise he stole millions

      I agree! This has been my thought all along. I couldn’t wrap my head around the notion that he killed Paul & Maggie solely for sympathy or to divert attention away from his financial crimes. Not that his suddenly becoming a victim had no part in it but I always believed it was more than that. It truly seemed that the most important thing to Alex was to make this boat case go away, and when he saw that wasn’t happening and Paul was charged, Alex was faced with the fact that a Murdaugh (Paul) was (for the first time in history) going to be held accountable for his actions and daddy wasn’t going to be able to fix this one…his ego wouldn’t allow him to accept it.
      What I can’t quite figure out is, why both of them, Maggie & Paul? Maggie was at Edisto beach and wad lured there by Alex, under the guise of going with him to see his father because he was gravely ill. If he wanted to end Paul, it would’ve been easy enough to do so without taking Maggie’s life.🤷🏼‍♀️

He got off on inflicting pain and knew very well that his victims suffered horrific pain and both knew it was deliberate and at his hands.

    I'm sorry but did nobody catch how the lawyer twisted his words to say what he wanted him to say. The man said " he would like to clear Paul's name" that's far different than saying "now I can beat that rap". I know the man is guilty of something I just don't think it's like they're trying to say completely. I just can't stand how every one of these prosecution lawyers constantly twist words around and put words in people's mouth. Has anybody noticed how they do that and I mean all the prosecution lawyers do it.

      @@kathydoyle5134 so much of what they try to prove things with can be reasonably argued. Like having different clothes on. How many people out there change their clothes several times a day depending on the weather, where they're going, who they are seeing. I know myself come home and something different then I left in all the time, then something goes missing and it'll turn up two years later.
      Then I think about how many people he's double-crossed and cheated, and that includes every single one of those lawyers he works with. That's a lot of powerful men who are now out of jobs because of his actions. All this GPS to from his car and the phones. Anybody could have held him at gunpoint while they walked around with the phones and made it look like what it look like and then make him take the blame for it, and if he says anything they'll take out Buster in his brothers.... that's their leverage over him. I don't know I just have a hard time believing the man could kill his son.

    He says all kinds of things you have to read between the lines. For example I got myself wed to that. Maggie contributed zero financially unless he made it happen through misdeeds. Like putting the property in her name to Shield it and then having it revert back to him after he got rid of their lives. So he would inherit it. I heard a bunch of other ones as well for example she didn't work. Also she was always sick when she was pregnant. When he left in the morning she was sick she was sick at lunch time and when he got home she was still sick. that was a few years of no sex I'm sure for him. Plus her whining. I have more in my mind that he has said between the lines. However this post is long enough for now

    Wondering how you can “clear” someone’s name when guilt is confirmed by so many independent sources. And #2…it makes you see a definitive reason for killing his kid. I think he was a “protective family annihilator” at least in his mind. First i don’t believe he actually “liked” Paul. This kid was out of control (even though a monster of their own making. I do not like to speak ill of the dead, but that young man was out of control and they clearly contributed as parents). Still, nobody deserves to be killed. And just my opinion but i think he killed Paul to 1. Protect him from going to jail which he was most likely headed for and 2. Because he was responsible for bringing down Alex’s house of cards of stealing people’s money down all around them. And 3. (Possibly) Paul could have hidden or flushed his drugs and that is a huge no no for an addict because it could put him in withdrawal. But i doubt this was the reason, regardless. And i think he decided since Maggie was going to be so humiliated by what he had done he would 1. Spare her from having to live with loss of her son and 2. “spare her” that humiliation of his thefts and disbarment while also saving his own skin (which is way more important to him of course). I do not know how Buster or his family could have any faith in him at all. Once u know all the details, it would be so hard to come to any other conclusion. I think Buster is between a serious rock and a hard place. And possibly he is even afraid of his father and knows if he got free he might do same to him if he did not support him as a defense witness. He does not seem to wholeheartedly agree with his dad on the phone calls, even telling him he has to follow rules of the land like anyone else. When alex asked him if he wanted to go hunting at Moselle, he seemed shocked he would even ask and said “no i will not be going hunting there at all”. U could tell it bothered him quite a bit. I do not like the way the girlfriend and Buster seemed to support alex in jailhouse calls BUT that may have been in beginning before all the evidence came out. I do not know Buster’s reputation but if he did do something wrong in the smith death, I am sure it will come out now. If the father and brother’s possibly?? killed him to keep Buster from being with him, because they found it unpalatable, it would not surprise me either. Alex clearly manipulates and lies to everyone around him. That much is obvious from the trial and the jailhouse calls. Stealing is not the same as murder but the extremely callous attitude Alex exhibits to be able to steal so easily from a beloved housekeeper, to teens who trusted him to a quadriplegic, even his own brother just show what kind of person he was. That wanton disregard of another human’s feelings is exactly what it would take to murder even family in cold blood. In my opinion. Just watching azget account reenactments on tiktok using all available onstar and cell phone info show exactly how he could have easily managed it. Pretty convincing. I cannot imagine why else he would have his brothers go remove certain guns from his mom and dad’s home before search warrants were served…..he is a lawyer and thought he was smart enough to get away with it and might have been if not for the damning Snapchat.

Saw him get the guilty verdicts said to him and his sentencing by the judge I knew he was guilty and I thank God he's in jail where he belongs and I'm sure he'll be in prison the rest of his life, he needs to be. I'm asking cuz I don't remember this guy on the stand in Alex's trial. I didn't realize this trial has started already I see part one on here.
    I'm going to have to check the court channel and watched the trial with the boat and getting Justice for Mallory Beach and her family.
