The problem is he doesn't understand "personal space" and always wants to run up and give me a big ol' hug, but I'd prefer just a friendly wave from across the room and maybe a "how's it going?" How do I make him understand that I don't like him the same way he likes me?
Try checking if base building restrictions are on, if so turn off. Also increase the number of base elements. Also allow multiple flags. Other than those, probably a bug.
I read on the SCUM Reddit where someone had the same issue with not being able to upgrade. They said it had to do with building too close to a road. I hope not because I've done the same thing.
I'm not very close to the road, so I wouldn't think that would be it, but I don't know. I'm going to fiddle with all my settings and see if something got bugged, and probably try verifying the game files in Steam. If all else fails, I'll destroy the base and flag and rebuild it with God Mode back to how it currently is and we'll go from there.
I need to just get better at it. I had intended to do that this morning, but ended up destroying and rebuilding the base instead. The old flag/base elements were bugged and not being recognized as existing for some reason, so I had to destroy the old flag and cabin, place a new flag, and rebuild the cabin. Yay...Hopefully that was a one-time event and won't happen again.

I hope he makes a full recovery, but at the moment, it looks like he's going to end up in a wheelchair at some point...It pisses me off because he's a veteran but the government isn't doing much to help with his medical bills, hence why I'm trying to get his GoFundMe out there for as many people to see as possible.
@@FlailyMcFlailerson I’m really sorry man I know what it feels like to have someone you care about in pain, before my dad died last year he had a really hard time with bills I had to get a job at 14 under the table just to try and support him, he was also a veteran he was stationed in Okinawa for most of his career and I had not seen the government help him much at all, my dad had some very bad cancer he had stage 4 colon cancer idk how bad your friends is but I wish the best for him and know cancer never beats you if it kills you the cancer dies too it’s not a loss it’s a drawl.

check you server settings , you can always turn building rules off
I checked all the server settings and they hadn't changed. I'll give them another look and see if I missed something.
