I would love to see spectro synthetic versus amsoil
The best STEEL TOE PUNCTURE RESISTANT SNEAKER AND BOOT por favor
Amsoil vs Cerma oil
Amsoil decreased the contain of PAO in Signature Series. So it’s a shity oil now.
Would be awesome to see a similar playoff/shootout with turbo diesel motor oils. Love your channel btw, it's "very impressive!" 🙂
These oil races are more exciting than Nascar
Thank you!
And they never seem to be making yet another left turn 😜
This whole series is better than nascar, basketball, football, baseball n every other sport. Let the final four begin
More like a drag race 🏁🏁
And 10 times better than NFL...
i’ll buy the oil when they print, meets or exceeds PF (project farm) testing requirements on the bottles
Thank you very much!
Underrated comment! Hahaha! Thanks...that was awesome
I still want to see Renewable Lubricants (RLI) and Green Earth Technologies' G Oil in these tests. RLI's is Veggie Based Oil, GAT's G Oil is Beef Tallow based. Both are non toxic and few people talk about them yet.

Please do testing on the Winner against factory OEM oils like BMW, Toyota, Honda, AC Delco, Mopar, and Motorcraft
Thank you for the video idea!
OEM oils are ok, but only ok. They are obviously all made by oil companies, purchased in bulk, and not necessarily special.
I am interested in seeing BMW Turbo oil getting tested. It is european SHELL! Should be similar to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (it is actually Shell Euro Helix).
If you are looking to see how embarassing car manufacturer supplied oil is, then tests away!
Bob is the Oil Guy or a Google search may reveal who blends, packages, and supplies which oils.
Paul M Understandable theory but why would BMW spend Millions in engineering & R&D the high performance $100,000+ M Series engines only to skimp out on developing mediocre engine oil to protect it?
Oil plays a tremendous part in performance & reliability. Why would they first go through all the trouble of developing their own oil only to skimp on quality just to turn a profit? At the risk of their reputation & costly warranty repairs.
There's much much more profit to be had skimping elsewhere where not so much is at risk
@@Mr.Beastforpresident Ahh. Hahaha! You got me!! Touche.
I based my BMW information on 6 year old RUclips videos from 2013! Link below:
ruclips.net/video/g7Tc-YkJRxk/видео.html
It was a Russian BMW mechanic literally boiling 2013 version of BMW oil along with Castrol Edge in a round bottom flask using ceramic heaters. I thought this was a very good quick simulation of heat on the oils. Unfortunately, I have been referencing this outdated video.
Prior to 2015, BMW actually used CASTROL as their supplier. It was German Castrol Softec TXT. Strange how it left more carbon and residue vs the Castrol Edge tested at the same time. So confused. Regardless, I have never bought Castrol except GTX for lawn mowers and topping off friends' high milage beaters.
Guess what? BMW oil is excellent. I take my words back. In 2015 BMW switched to Shell oil for factory fill Turbo oil. THAT (Shell) is good stuff in Europe and the USA. You are correct. BMW had a requirement that would not be met by the older Castrol oil. They needed a better SN Plus type oil for their tens of thousands of upcoming turbo engine. Shell
Screw the NBA playoffs, this is far more interesting!
Thank you!
When you have a winner of your oil race, please compare it to (one of) the worst performing oil(s). Would be very interesting how big the difference is.

You should test if fuel storage additives (like STA-BIL) really work. Obviously it’s going to take 3-6 months to truly see gas degradation and I also don’t really know how you’d test it. But it’d be interesting to see if I’ve been wasting money.
This was a great video today.

IT WORKS, FACT. I've been using it in my boats, lawn mowers & my motorcycle for years, BIG DIFFERENCE.
nowr2run for the longest time I didn’t use it for our lawn mowers and gas can. And it seemed to be fine, but I started using it 2 years ago and I really can’t tell if it’s actually made an objective difference.
John Moore I’m a head lab technician for a major oil company. We put antioxidants in our gas. Our gas is stabile and won’t break down for at least a year as long as it isn’t exposed to the elements. Like in a sealed can. We test every gasoline final tank for it before it leaves the refinery.

Test liquid plumbing clog removers?
Great recommendation!
None of these should ever be used.
That was my idea lol you got that from my comments 😂😂😂😂
Please don’t! These things are terrible for your plumbing. The best clog remover would still be a bad thing to use.
need to test it against those cheap plastic/wire thingies you stick down the drain. They work pretty well on light clogs. Otherwise just buy a 1/4 by 25' snake that goes on your drill. It will clear more clogs and save you more $$ than fussing with those nasty chemicals.
OMG if Amsoil wins the whole thing, the dealers will be crowing about it for years.
I know I will be

I dont know if I was the first or not but I am quite happy I suggested amsoil v. Royal purple
YES AMSOIL WILL THEN GO UP IN PRICE, LOL.
Yeah. I could see Amsoil costing so much IF it wins as #1, but if winner #2 is half the price, then that will be my most preferred oil to go to. I never believed in the Mobil 1 hype... Always so thin, watered down, and always had to add more to all our vehicles at work.

I've used Amsoil for about 24 years exclusively on all my cars and trucks, I've seen some cars just come to life with it and wake up after about 600 miles and others just smooth out some with a better idle.
Yes it's stupid expensive but I do longer drain intervals and I've never had a over heat issue.
In fact after 100,000 miles in my Tacoma's 4x4 differentials it drained out clean. Weird I thought.

If it drained out clean it must have little to no detergents 👎

This is the old Amsoil Signature series formulation. Amsoil reformulated the signature series about a year and a half ago. The bottle says 75% more wear protection on the front. The total Base number also was raised to 12.5. Just something to think about. You do amazing videos! Keep it up!

I feel like the lubricity test is most important overall.. You can always add oil for evaporative loss, and cold flow only affects extremely cold regions.
I sort of agree with you... I am looking for lubricity... But I also live far north, and I need to see that oil flowing at cold temperatures.... If I lived in Florida, I guess I could ignore those -40 flow tests.... If the oil is not flowing, it cannot provide lubricity....
Well, evaporative loss will correlate to intake value deposits in modern direct-injection engines, so I think that one is fairly important for some.
All great points. Low evaporation for GDI for sure to avoid those intake valve deposits.
@@catsspat Well, that's why I'm not a fan of direct injection engines unless they have dual fuel injectors. Just another engineering con
Amsoil seems to be living up to the hype.
I was skeptical about Amsoil, now after watching various yt videos I'm a believer
I agree. Never used it in my vehicles before but I see why it's got a great reputation.
We used it in our race cars, THE BEST WE EVER USED BAR NONE.
@Richard Skipper it's not that expensive. I use it in my truck and it still cost me less than what a shop would charge and I am running the best oil I can get.
@Richard Skipper honestly if you thrash on your cars then l don't think it matters. I mean you probably change the oil so often in race cars anyways that it wouldn't make a difference what you run since it wouldn't have much time to break down.

You just can't beat the Penzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30 for $24.99 5 quart jug. You can also save money at Walmart buy buying in bulk . $71.38 for a 3 pack .
It's a great product! It's going to be very difficult to beat!
It's a great product! It's going to be very difficult to beat!
You said it! It is one of the best off the shelf, mid priced oils out there! I use it along with QS full synthetic and Fuchs GT-1 Pro Flex 5W-30.
Unfortunately, it will be beaten by Penrite, Schaefers, or Amsoil! Their base oil, additives, and cost make them superior. However, I will always recommend everyone to get Pennzoil Ultra Platinum at every chance. Especially since it is available from WM at discount.
I am still making an Excel sheet with data, facts, and notes from every oil test. It's a lot of data! Burn off weight and percentage. Bearing test loss and percentage. Bearing scar dimensions and area, plus appearance comment. Cold flow will be harder to put in a sheet. I got lazy.
Oh, and that is 5 quarts not just a gallon!
Yup for that price point nothing may beat it unless you go pay more like amsoil possibly.

I forgot to say in my first comment, I’m glad to see that you switched from the Platinum to the Ultra Platinum like I commented in a past video that you replied to. I really like how you listen to us. 👍
Same here. Luckily, the burn off and flow characteristics of the regular Platinum 5W30 most likely still would have let it move to the next round. I will rewatch the other test to confirm.
Paul M according to Pennzoil’s website the Ultra Platinum flashes off at 17C higher than the base Platinum (224C vs 207C.) Other than that the main difference is the amount of detergents. So the Ultra Platinum would’ve just done better than the Platinum in the first round, it would’ve won.
It’s really easy to find their data sheets on their website if you’re interested.
@@johnmoore1495 Thank you John! I keep forgetting Flash Point is a standard in SDS sheets and descriptions of any lubricant or solvent! Yes, 224C Ultra vs 207C regular.
At least the pour point of -48C is the same, but that is something an additive will not change. It is just an inherent property of the 5W base oil.
Thanks again, this was easier tgan rewatching the other video for the scale weights. Mmm. I'm going to watch them again anyway!
@@johnmoore1495 1.22grams for Pennzoil Platinum using the previous shorter burn off test. Has me curious.
Paul M one weird thing about Pennzoil’s lineup is that the Platinum high mileage has a pour point of -51. So I don’t know if it’s a mistake or if they’re actually adding something because otherwise the stats are really similar to the base platinum.

Great content. I'm curious to see who wins. Once it is all said and done it would be nice to see all the oils ranked against each other as opposed to just who won their particular matchup.
Who thought oil comparisons could be so fascinating. It won't be long before this channel hits a million subscribers.
Thank you!

The amount of variables would be a pain in the ass, I do agree. It was an idea at best! And your welcome Todd! Anytime.
