Riding my 700th Roller Coaster, Maxx Force at Six Flags Great America

- After Mt. Olympus decided to close more than half of their roller coasters, my 700th coaster credit had to unfortunately get bumped from Hades 360, to something different... As of when I entered Six Flags Great America, I had ridden 699 coasters. It seemed only fitting I made my milestone the new for 2019 S&S launch coaster, Maxx Force!

Honestly this ride doesn’t bother me that it’s super short. Everything that it does is pretty awesome, especially the launch. The type of people who complain about this ride are the type to not complain about dragster, despite dragster being shorter and having fewer elements
TTD was actually my 50th coaster earlier this year (I’m at 67 credits) and i got back seat (because stupid assigned seating...) and it was sweet! With fast lane plus, I walked right on!
Unfortunately I only rode it once during the two days I spent there because it was broken nearly the entire time :(
Tyler Haraf I gladly would have rode it way more if it wasn’t broken nearly the entire time haha. After I rode it, I was starving, so I ate, then went back to ttd and it was broken for the rest of the day :’(
All Things Cubed I’ll try that if I get back there... if the dang thing isn’t broken 😂
Perhaps because dragster is 250ft taller and 45mph faster?

I think I've got the unpopular opinion here, but I didn't find the launch to be any more intense than Ka or Dragster. It slams you back into your seat, sure, but it wasn't anything unexpected or that I haven't felt before. Since I wasn't blown away by the launch, I wanted the rest of the ride to really impress me, and although I liked the elements, it was over way too quickly. I stand by my assessment that it's the first half of an excellent ride. Congrats on 700, though!

Taylor, I'm sorry you were unable to ride Hades 360. That ride looks crazy! If you did ride it, I would bet that you would give that ride at least a 9 out of 10 in your review. I hope you go back to Mount Olympus soon, and if you do, I hope both Hades and Zeus will be open! For your Maxx Force review, I am going to predict that you are going to give it an 8. Just being generous. I would not be surprised if you gave it a slightly higher score. I'm glad that you liked Maxx Force. I do believe Six Flags should put more out, and this could happen. Latest rumor: Will Six Flags finally bring an S&S launch coaster back to Kings Dominion? And will Taylor Bybee finally experience Kings Dominion's newer version of Hypersonic XLC?

@@CoasterStudios I've been on both of them. Hades is kind of rough, which hurts the airtime. The tunnels are also unbearably loud. However, the double down after the second tunnel is amazing. Zeus almost felt like a GCI, and though it was rough, it was still kind of bearable. In my opinion, Zeus is the best coaster at Mount Olympus and is a must ride.
8 months later is that one day.
I was on the train for Raging Bull at about 1 p.m. on Saturday and one of the ops yelled to another one "Yo, Taylor Bybee is gonna be here at 6 p.m." Had no idea you'd be at the park at the same time as me lol. Ended up riding Goliath right before close and to my surprise, you were on the same train as me. Seems like #700 was a worthy ride. I agree; more S&S air launched coasters please.

Dude I was actually saw you guys on the day I went there. The only reason I noticed you guys was that you were holding a camera in your hand and had on a toaster studios jacket. You were also in the very left lane when walking up to the station. Hope you liked that ride as much as I did!
(Edit) I dont know if you remember but I was the teen in the black hoodie, and my friend had on the yellow sweater with checkers on the sleeves.

Yeah Dodonpa is friggin amazing launch. Is it still the quickest acceleration at 2.8 or 2.9 seconds? All I know is I rode it while it had the huge top hate and not the huge vertical loop. And the launch was just THE BEST.

So jealous. Ooo Taylor! I just had another great GP moment. I was watching a video from Six Flags Great Adventure and I mentioned that I missed El Torro because the guy in the video was riding it. Someone commented on the video asking what happened to it probably thinking it was closed or whatever. Then someone else said they believed it was being destroyed for Jersey Devil. And the other person asked how she knew. I was horrified. So I was like are you nuts? The enthusiast community would throw a riot if Torro was destroyed. And Jersey Devil is being built on the other side of the park besides. I can’t with these people.

This is my home park, so even biases aside, this ride does not do much for me. I wish it did, honestly. I've ridden' it 10+ times and though it's a solid ride, it's nothing special either. The launch is nice but it's also a very short launch and you lose a lot of speed after the launch. Thankfully I have the all season flash, because IMO, this does not warrant an 1+ hour wait.
I totally agree. It's a mid-tier supporting coaster for me, #5 in the park.
The double inversion should be shorter because you lose way to much speed

I remember a little over a year ago, I was shocked when you got to 500. I thought it wasn't humanly possible to get to that level. Now you have 700 credits.

I guess I will super frustrated the day i rode maxxforce because i didn't like it. After the long line breakdown long line again breakdown again finally able to use flash pass front row and wasn't impressed.

Congrats on #700. Maxx Force is a solid coaster, but I prefer Goliath. It is great when you hit a milestone or big coaster. I will get to ride Cannibal finally tomorrow.

I'm a little surprised you got on this first try. Maybe I'm just having very bad luck, but I've been there 3 times this year and this ride has been closed over half of the time I've spent there.
Congrats on 700. I really like maxxforce. to me its #2 at the park and has the #2 Inversion at the park (The barrel roll). Behind only Goliath and Goliath's zero-g stall.

When counting coaster credits, if you have been on all those clones of the free spin batman, joker rides at six flags,do you count them as just 1 credit since they are all the same?

Dear Coaster Studios,
My current Coaster Count is 61; however, I wonder if it should be 59. When I was a little kid, my parents and I went to Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. According to them, all three of us rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Wild Mouse at Disney’s California Adventure. Now I trust my parents account of my riding those rides. If I don’t remember the experience but there is evidence that I rode the Coaster from a reputable source, can I consider those two credits valid?

@Gene Bone Great America is one of the better Six Flags parks, though I think they need to slow down a little bit on the investments. Also, it is my home park.
