I'm glad you guys enjoyed your visit to my home park! I loved hearing all of your updated opinions on the coasters. My favorite is definitely Raging Bull in the back row.
When vertical velocity first opened it used to have a holding break on one of the spikes but from what I've heard they stopped using it around the 2008 season because of the stress it was putting on the ride
One thing on the empty blacktop, that’s where the Revolution pendulum ride was until last year, it was removed because Sky Striker is essentially a bigger and better version. Seems like they may do more with that space at some point, nothing it has now seems permanent, but who knows?
My first time visiting Great America was a month ago, I was soooo surprised with Viper. I LOVED the airtime in the back, I actually thought I did have airtime on the drop and more places than you guys mentioned. When vertical velocity was new at SFGA it did have the holding brake on the last back drop. I think it broke and they never fixed it or just decided to stop using it due to stress on the supports. I agree tho they should bring it back.
I was at Great America today. The weather was fantastic. Viper was running excellent. I rode in the back row and was getting crazy diagonal air time. Raging Bull was totally worth the 35 minutes I waited. I like that X-Flight is themed to mechanically powered flight rather than birds like other wing coasters.
I'm incredibly blessed to have this as my home park! Raging Bull has had such a huge influence on my taste in forces that it will never leave my top 15, and while it has gotten a little shaky (especially at the second turnaround), it at least isn't as bad as, say, Diamondback.

On my last visit there in 2019, Hurricane Harbor was not included for everyone. The entry from within the dry park was still open then. I don't understand them removing that. Fiesta Texas, just this year, made their waterpark an upcharge for people with day tickets.

I think most parks dont have a family coaster as solid as wizzer. But I also agree, that if they built something like big bear mountain (or better yet, a suspended family coaster 🙏 ) back behind the log flumes and vertical velocity, near that moose barbeque restaurant, all the way over to the joker, then game over. The park would be overprepared for that demographic in the best way possible. Their thrill coasters also are not super intense... you have american eagle, batman superman x flight demon raging bull, all of which are approachable unlike something like i305 or maverick. I bet if american eagle andbwizzer had been open, you would have felt how deep their family thrill lineup is. So, while they could build a good family coaster, I also really think what they need most is something elite. A fury level attraction tracing the parking lot. Or more cost effectively a fun long single rail like magic mountains wonder woman. They reeeally don't need a dive machine. . They already have a photogenic expensive but average b and m coaster in x flight.
Hey Taylor, is that wide open space across from American Eagle, where they took out the previous Revolution pendulum ride? Maybe they were focused on getting that removed and Sky Striker up and didnt puch much thought into it yet. Hopefully improvements come next off-season.
hey my home park! as much as we dont have the super jaw droppers, every coaster is so uniquely awesome. Maxx Force would be world class had been more than 21 seconds long. Always get 2 rides in on that to start my day!
I just visited Six Flags Great America and didn't have a very great experience. I had my all season Souvenir Cup stolen from the loose article bin on Raging Bull and it kind of took the wind out of my sails.
@@Wandering_Outlaw Indeed. Yes they also have souvenir cups - but just getting a cup is better. Nothing to hold on to and lose - and none of the companies spend the extra money to use dishwasher safe plastic either.
Great vlog! I'm trying to get back to SFGAM soon since I haven’t been there in a decade. (2013 being my second & last visit) And the only sad thing about it...this is the only Six Flags park I've been to. (Though TBF, I'm more of a Cedar Fair person)
I used to come here nearly every week, and I can say everything is really correct but maxx force usually has a 90 min wait and the atmosphere gets old very quick. It’s usually diry and at least one thing’s closed.
Canadas Wonderland was working on footers, they’re advertising , that something BIG is coming, they’re also digging a massive trench under the mountain , looks wide enough to be for a wing coaster. Just a guess, I have no clue what is coming
This is technically my home park, but I haven't been in a few years since I'd rather go to other parks and my job only allows me to go on weekends. The weekend crowds have become quite unbearable in recent years. Its really nice to see what's changed in these few years and what hasn't (looking at you Batman wheel covers still sitting in the shed) Buccaneer Battle's location also used to house the vekoma giant boomerang Dejavu, so putting something big there is definitely possible. I hope they will add something soon so I can have a reason to go back.
I would also predict they may add a huge roller coaster since their 50th season is next year. Or they may add one in 2026 since that would be their 50th anniversary.

@@ChuckE.CheesesIllinois Why would you complain and not want a new coaster? What downside does a new roller coaster at your home park bring at all? Do you wish it were something else?
I’m so happy this is my home park
Watching the opening couple minutes and I’ve never wanted to jump into a pool more
Just came back from Great America to see this! Funnily enough, with the addition of Sky Striker, SFGAm now has 2 rides with Chicago NBA/WNBA teams in their name.
I have well over 200 rides on Raging Bull and only sat row 1-5 2 times, none in the first 2
16:28 Sarah, that is what we call Cottonwood, or you can call it by its other name, The Allergy Creator 2000
I wish I knew you were visiting, this is my home park, I visit many times a season.
I was wondering when you’d post your great America video from a few weeks back and you did now!!! Awesome!!!
I’ve been watching your great America vlogs for a while now because I’m going in august. I am exited for this park because I went to cedar point recently. I’m looking forward to comparing the parks and what max forces acceleration feels like. You guys make great videos, so keep up the good work!
I love Great America. It needs work in spots, but, I always have fun there.
I hope you got to ride Superman Escape From Krypton recently because it is done, one of the server rooms along the launch overheated and detonated on 6/27 at around noon. I was working Goliath at the time when guests of the arriving train alerted us to the fire.
4:27 insane foreshadowing
Thanks for taking a photo with me off max force
I met you guys on Goliath at the end of the night and got 2 rides on there with you!!! Back seat action!! Highlight of my trip!!
My hometown park, and I worked as a Ride Op at the Demon and Raging Bull for 2 years. The Six Flags Great America Food Rule: Dont eat at the park, just get the re-entry stamp and go to McDonalds on Grand Ave
My home park!! I wish I could have met you guys.
YES!!! I love this park so much and go all the time, glad you got to come back, and I hope it gets a new coaster soon! Thanks for this video!
he was saying the last time they visited was 2021 and there hasnt been any new coasters since
@@oligarland8191 ah I see, that makes sense. edited the comment
@3:23 Thanks for being an ally, CS! ♥🌈🎢 (Also I wish I would've gone to the park that day for a chance to run into you both, you would've made my year!)
Great America hasn’t had the wheel covers on Batman for years. If you looked closer, they have like 3 inches of dust in the shed haha
This is my home park, those darn wheel covers haven't been on Batman for years I think they've given up 😂
Possessed at dorney park makes the same sounds.
Six Flags should implement the Cedar Fair unlimited drink system.
@@Danrarbc are you referring to the paper cup system?
@@Wandering_Outlaw Indeed. Yes they also have souvenir cups - but just getting a cup is better. Nothing to hold on to and lose - and none of the companies spend the extra money to use dishwasher safe plastic either.
@@Danrarbc yeah that's the system I use with my cedar fair pass
Great vlog! I'm trying to get back to SFGAM soon since I haven’t been there in a decade. (2013 being my second & last visit)
And the only sad thing about it...this is the only Six Flags park I've been to. (Though TBF, I'm more of a Cedar Fair person)
I used to come here nearly every week, and I can say everything is really correct but maxx force usually has a 90 min wait and the atmosphere gets old very quick. It’s usually diry and at least one thing’s closed.
I'd love to see a wing coaster with a beyond vertical drop. Not a big fan of wing coasters but that would be cool
Canadas Wonderland was working on footers, they’re advertising , that something BIG is coming, they’re also digging a massive trench under the mountain , looks wide enough to be for a wing coaster. Just a guess, I have no clue what is coming
what day of the week did you guys go and did you have any flash passes?
We did have flash pass, we were there on a weekend
This is technically my home park, but I haven't been in a few years since I'd rather go to other parks and my job only allows me to go on weekends. The weekend crowds have become quite unbearable in recent years. Its really nice to see what's changed in these few years and what hasn't (looking at you Batman wheel covers still sitting in the shed)
Buccaneer Battle's location also used to house the vekoma giant boomerang Dejavu, so putting something big there is definitely possible. I hope they will add something soon so I can have a reason to go back.
Viper running backwards in 2013 was the best…
16:26 that's cotton being blown down from cottonwood trees they are everywhere
I'd still really want to see a stand out roller coaster here, many of their major rides range from good but short, or mid.
I LOVE SIX FLAGSSSSSSS❤❤❤❤❤
5:53 damn watch out for those pythons in the background there
I would also predict they may add a huge roller coaster since their 50th season is next year. Or they may add one in 2026 since that would be their 50th anniversary.
Are you ever going to do an updated review of Raging Bull?
One day yes! We’d like to wait until we film an on-ride pov first but then we will!
I'm assuming Whizzer was down the day of your visit.
Did Sarah get her coaster credit for Sprocket Rocket?
Solid home park. Would like to see a new giga coaster one day 🤞
I think the park has a height limit.
Sky Trek Tower tbf is 300 feet but that was built back in 1977
