- This week on Ice Pilots, the Buffalo Airways crew are going on a voyage around the world in a plane only designed for short distances. Joe has to lay down the law after seeing one too many unsafe practices at the airways that could end up with someone getting seriously hurt, or worse.

Buffalo Airways is an airline based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. They mainly fly WWII-era piston powered propeller planes in minus 40 degrees and land on tiny strips of tarmac in the tundra.

What a shame. Tanker 281 sits with its landing gear stripped off and one engine u/s at the Sacheon / Jinju airport. The machine had just over 2000 hours TT.

I worked in the aviation field especially in the military the swing that is designed for that aircraft can is designed to lift the aircraft complete full of fuel oil and all that out of the water wrecked or not wrecked so them saying that's untested it's is tested it can handle it now normally that the wings will be removed before this thing will be hooked up but is designed to be able to do with the wings on

Sorry to be a denier, but I am sure they wouldn't gamble with a multi-million $ airplane being loaded onto a ship with amateurs. This would have been done by professionals, who are insured. Joe is a smart guy, and while it makes for great entertainment, I am sure the old water bomber would have been transported by people who knew what they were doing.

I cannot imagine that exposing the water bomber to three weeks of salt water cannot be good for it. Yes, I know it was designed to be on water, but I wonder about the corrosion with it sitting on the ship?
This is from 2012, the aircraft arrived just fine.

What does it mean when they say "rotate " ?
its the speed that the nose is lifted (rotated) off the ground, but it not the aircraft flying speed, that would be your lift off speed, which is higher than rotation speed

That flight sim was trash. Y’all need the Microsoft flight sim. They have the plane in the game. You can get yokes and pedals as you have. But it’s 100 times more realistic that whatever outdated version that was.
