      Yeah man, definitely go with the 6.4 if you’re NA 5.7 💪🏼

    You must first know the flaws of the Hi-Ram and what’s needed to be effective. Then you must have a cam matched with great head flow to help it really shine. And no not all ported heads are created equally. And lastly you need a great tuner, also not all are even close to being the same. If done plenty of R&D on the Hi-Ram from flow testing, porting, and plenum volume design.
    If you have a mediocre/cookie cutter setup by all means use the ported 6.4, but if you have a properly designed NA 5.7, stroker or 6.4 the Hi-Ram done the way it needs to be done will be much faster than the 6.4 intake. And same goes for boost, but it is not restricted to boost builds or super aggressive High compression NA setups like mine.
    Remember, it’s the combination and you just didn’t have anything right that needed to be to take advantage. And there’s nothing wrong with that, just not fair to Holley to say things about the intake you don’t fully understand. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me via Facebook. Good luck with the 6.4 setup man.

      @tallguyinahemi  Год назад +1

      I agree.. it would need a specific set up just for that intake. Definitely a stroker or 6.4 motor.. you know more than I do forsure but just my experience with the intake. I had a max effort cam in my 5.7 with it and it still didn’t feel good but my old motor was junk. I also get a ton of questions about this on a SBE 5.7 so this was kinda towards that audience. It works well on a 6.4 but I feel there’s a lot on the table in the low-mid range even though it still feels awesome. Dave does a great job tuning it as well. I wasn’t knocking Holley or trying to give them a bad rep. They’re awesome at what they do and have my respect.

    Thanks for the vid @tallguyinahemi, saved me a Grand. I am at the same place with my 5.7 Challenger. Definitely CAM and 6.4 Intake is the way to go. If a Procharger landed in my lap I am grabbing the HI-RAM. Cheers Buddy 👍

    I think you are spot on brother. Hi-Ram is really meant for boost. 6.4 manifold is the one to have NA like you said. Now, Hi-Ram on SnB with 17lbs of boost is one heck of a good time! 😂😂😂

    Nice fuel rail crossover! Get some fittings for your catch can lines. Those lines will collapse when the engine is warm and running under load.

    Unless you’re reving out to 7.1k plus you won’t see any gains let losses in torque especially on a SBE cammed 392 application (the reason I sold mines) lol. And if you do the stock 8HP70 won’t last too long.

    • @tallguyinahemi
      @tallguyinahemi  Год назад

      I asked my tuner & this intake really helps my top end paired with this cam. I can easily rev it to 7k but I keep it at 6500 to be safe but I feel you.. I lost it on the low end forsure. Did you dyno them both on a cammed 392?

    I'm re-watching this video and when it got to the part about the catch can I realized my mopar CAI had a hose and mini cone filter that stuck in the big blue filter and ran into the intake manifold to release pressure and the Hiram doesn't have that which might explain sometimes on cold start I get blow back and cloud of smoke.

    Does this high ram intake manifold make sense for my Chrysler 6.1 hemi? It has a sharp camshaft and about 470hp. Would it do anything?

    • @captainboose8788
      @captainboose8788 4 месяца назад +1

      Only if you are reving over 6200 rpm, otherwise 6.1 intake will make more

    • @realitysux_0128
      @realitysux_0128 Месяц назад

      Yes, you can. BUT…… it is not worth it if your engine isn’t set up. Also, your hood will need to be replaced or cut to make this manifold fit. Also, the cross member running at the top of the firewall, at the back of the engine, will need to be cut in order for the manifold to fit. This thing is very tall

    High ram is only good for boosted or Nitrous applications. But a lot but I MEAN ALOT OF PEOPLE run this manifold N/A it’s 100% pointless but it looks nice don’t get me wrong if you don’t care about racing or being fast N/A and just want something for looks, go ahead run this manifold

    • @captainboose8788

      HiRam is meant for high RPM. The 6.4 falls on its face after 6400; this will make power to 7500+ with the right combo. If you are building a real NA motor, you need this or the Dragpak single plane.
