When you get to the Cuman camp during the battle you can go out to the right, through the hole in the wall, and fight their reinforcements. They're just sitting there doing nothing while you fight the Cumans. If you're looking for something new to mess around with, you might want to try the night raid on Talmberg. If you go right and get caught before knocking out the two guards to the left, then Hans never gets shot, and there's no timer on the mission. You can't open any doors, but bandits can, so you can explore the whole thing and kill all of them. Interestingly, if you "die" in this mission, Hans carries you out, and saves you.
You know, I never knew that about the Night raid. I never really got beat up to see that happen. I will have to try it out sometime. I know there are ways to get to the tower without getting caught, but it is not very useful or exciting. :P The night raid is pretty restrictive to my standard tricks, but I will figure something out.
Oof! Well apparently the foot shot was not that bad. That guy just catapulted himself over a wall to lay down next to me. That is some serious hops, or either he was just beef jumping.

I like to think that Henry would just light a cigarette and say, that :P Really, Henry should've just set fire to the entire abandoned village and made it easier in the end. No village, no bandits/cumans. We all win!
For me the hardest part of that fight is not hitting your own men and it's the same for every fight where friendlies are helping. They always seem to run right in between me and the guy I'm fighting as soon as I attack. Oh and the way enemies don't seem to have a hit box when you attack from behind most of the time while they're fighting someone else as well. It's like your weapon just refuses to connect
Yah it is a tricky thing the targeting system, also when the game causes a ton of lag it makes it that much tougher. I remember making this video on my old computer at 30 FPS and I was just not having a good time during fights like you mention because you would have to interrupt a fight to be part of the fight :P The best solution I found was to just shoot them with arrows if everyone is connected or if you're lucky find a pole weapon like a halberd. That thing does not care about targeting, only swinging and killing. :P
I agree. The loot sometimes is god tier and other times it is meh. Honestly the cuman loot is trash, all with the except of the "74" damage cuman bow. The only reason to hunt down cumans early game is to try to get one of those bows, then level up your strength to 13 I think? To use it properly.
There's an easier way. When the 4 bandits show up at the mill, just tell them where Timmy is and trundle along as they go there. They'll off the bugger and offer you a job. Now you can walk into the bandit camp with a pink tutu if it takes your fancy and no speech checks to worry about.
This is very true, but if I remember correctly things go belly up and you have to escape from this place. Now this is not a problem if you have the mentality of "I am not trapped with 10 heavily armored enemies, they're trapped with me!" But whatever works :D
@@helicalgoose If you tell anyone that Morcock sent you, things will go south, but in that case, just hop on the waggon next to the bandit camp entry and do a bit of bow training. Once you've offed the entire camp you have all the time in the world to sabotage the place and collect some loot.
I remember the first time I did this quest I failed sneaking twice and didn't know I could pass as a Cuman So I downed about 3 potions, equipped full plate and destroyed the camp entirely
This is the correct approach to this mission ;) I honestly do not think a full sneak is possible. Like no murder. The bloody buggers do not even sleep at night! I am sure there is a moment you should be able to do this, but I have not seen it quite yet.
@@Osithirith Ah that is good to know. I had a thought in my head that they just had enough bandits to make shifts in sleeping, but then there was always enough of them to stay awake no matter what.
I brought mutt along, tried to dismiss him near the back entrance and instead of running back to the mill, he charged the camp and couldn't die. lol I was just able to shoot at the 10+ cumans that were trying to fight him and then lure the bandits over to him and shoot them, too.
As well you can break into the monastery before you get access to it by simply climbing onto the 'scaffolding' and then summon your horse behind you. Then jump with it into the monastery and EXIT your horse midair right before it lands. You will be in a animation and get off while your horse 'dies'.
When you spoke about the overload of arrows on the Cumans, it reminded me, the other day I found one of those "interesting places" where a guy was dead next to a wagon (not related to a quest, I dont think) and he oddly enough had 20 better long distance arrows on him, only that every single one of them had a value of 0 Groschen which was odd to me. I took them and they didn't stack with my other 60 long distance arrows, any idea why that is? Wonder if it's possible to have ones with different metadata since they had the exact same stats as the normal ones.
I think you're onto something about that. I noticed that when "obtaining" arrows from dead guards or bandits, even though they are the same arrow, they do not stack. It is quite frustrating to have to re-equip new arrows. Now the value of zero is more interesting. I will have to look into that, but I think there might be a way to abuse the no-value items at shops, provided they are willing to purchase them in the first place :D
Aww :(. I watched your poor to rich video from 3 months ago. Also your vid on reaching max level in skalitz. I loved your voice tone in it with your previous mic, it was so entertaining and kept me engaged. Anyhow, great vid.
Yah that video was pretty good. I think I was having a pretty good day and just being more free with whatever I was saying. In these newer videos I try to have some what structure to keep the videos shorter for editing and able to get it out on time. That video originally was about 2-3 hours long before fine editing cut down (it was about 6 hours of film before the first cut O.o') which was too long, but I did have a bunch of little tid-bits that were well worth editing it through.

"Just run in like a crazy idiot and get assaulted" That's my plan :D I use the other entrance... try to keep the groups I have to kill small so it's more manageable. I haven't seen the sneaking through route. I've gotten my ass kicked big time doing it. 3:54 I've sometimes gotten a cut scene at that point there instead of being caught. You see some trouble between the Cumans and the bandits. I've only seen it the once. Been months since I saw it. Wish I could tell you how to trigger the cut scene there. "To arms, get over here so we can be sniped." 6:02 that one needed a fainting couch. That's really weird him... glitching through the door I guess. 465 arrows :D I'm not sure the poisoning the food works very well. Or if you using different potions will really do anything. Like I haven't noticed a difference if I use the bane poison or the sleeping one. "Go to the Rattay presbytery..." I had to pause it there because it looked for a sec like some kind of quest update came up as if it were related to that area. "I'm back from scouting. Killed them all. They'll be back though." I don't think any of the guys who go with you can kill you. If you go for a pacifist playthrough, they all survived I'm pretty sure. (I had that typed before seeing you get that one with an arrow, guess they have TGM on) It's funny to loot him and let him get back up and he comes at you with fists :D Headcracker is brilliant. The symbol that shows up for that - and also the one for when you over eat - are great.
Sneaking through is quite possible if I am allowed to give the bandits a little stab in the neck along the way. Now, pacifist without being seen, ummm. I would like to that. I am guessing going there at around 3-5 am time range. I believe with some bandit camps I have seen that no one is watching guard and everyone (or most people) are sleeping. Not certain on this place but that would be the time I would try for that.
At the backside of the church there is a spot where you can jump the wall around the church with your horse. The door stays open for your stay at prybislawitz but closes once you leave to tell radzig and start the battle. Not sure if you can park your horse next to prybislawitz and then mount up and do the jump during the battle. Standing on top of the barrels inside the church makes you invisible to the bandits so you can easily shoot them to death. Also they can't climb to the top of the ramparts at the left of the door (looking from inside of the door) so you can shoot all the melee guys from up there, the archers however will shoot at you so that might be trouble. Inside the church after climbing up the first ladder is a chest that doesn't despawn or reset at any point of the scouting or battle so you can stash all the bandits and cumans stuff in there and then once you get to rebuilding prybislawitz, build the rathaus, transfer all the stuff into your private chest and sell all the loot in rattay or sasau or whatever you want and have a personal chest nearby.
Yah, its a bit disappointing that you can't sequence break the game a bit more, that is the dream. But there are no triggers set in that area so no sequence breaking for Henry, this time...
Those archers are a huge pain in the beef. They can hit really hard and take half your health if you're unlucky. It happened to me, but I just cut out the portion of killing those archers since it slowed down the already long video.
Didn't know about the dropped items exploit, but you can jump into the church compound from outside. If you go around the village from the back, you'll notice the ground is higher and slopes down towards the walls around the church. There'll be a section with a bush - get some distance from the wall and aim Henry at the bush, with luck, you can run and jump, ending up on the wall. It's not easy to do consistently, but it's definitely possible (I repeated it several times). Can't do this during the battle sequence as that doesn't allow you to leave the area, unfortunately.
Yah sadly you can not get over there during the combat or do the beef jumping during combat. That really put a damper on trying to break the game a bit more :P And that back side of the church I am certain that jump is possible, but whatever happened with me, I sort of just goofed! I could not get over the fence without the beef!
That is where the game really opens up. You remember all the hardships and every smack talking bandits, cuman, and guard whoever crossed your path. Going on that rampage to knock them down a peg really feels great :P
On the boss at the end I kept dieing until zi realised that the best way of beating him was just stun locking him with a flurry of punches. Try it, it's easy to just punch him to death
I'm not even kidding, I just did this. I cheesed Prib and found 1.5k better hunting arrows on a guy. Also, in each camp, there's a box in a tent with literally TONS of gear.
There is a great argument for not doing this quest until you farm the bandits for tons of arrows. I have no idea why the arrow farming is so profitable or useful. If you get the better piecing arrow stack of 1.5k, they might as well start rolling the credits to the game, it is over! Also I think the bandits respawn 4-6 in game days? Been awhile since I visit that section but that is sort of what I have noticed, but enjoy the farming!
I thought this was one of the easiest quests. The boss fight was a bit underwhelming, tbh. But overall a very fun quest that we should have an option for to repeat it as many times as we want.
I agree. I wish Runt kept that weapon he had when he first beat Henry senseless. Maybe add a mechanic where if you block he pushes you back or something unique to that guy. I mean he was suppose to be a "mountain of a man" But when I first played against him I was hop up on potions and poison everywhere, so I think that is how I beat him on my first play through. I remembered that me playing through the battle took me a couple times if not more and I was pretty beat up before the boss fight. It was a fun one for certain. And you can keep replaying it too, they drop a save right before the battle begins, so there is that option :)
@@helicalgoose when i done this battle the first time, it took me a couple days to finally finish it. My quicksave got me messed up right before the fight with Runt. I had barely any hp left. I tried to get him melee, that didn't work. I was getting pissed, quitting the game, getting back again. I didn't wanna restart the whole game. So, i got the genius idea to pull out the bow as soon as the fight starts. Took me ages, but finally got a lucky shot with a crit in Runt's face and killed him one shot haha. I was so damn happy and relieved
@@MrDuculetul Haha, headcracker + crict head shot is fantastic, I love when they happen :P Also I will have to say that this mission is the buggiest mission in the game, so your quicksave file dying, I believe it 100%. Every time I do this battle I have to put out a little prayer to make sure the game does not crash 3/4 the way through, otherwise, back to the start to do it all over again... totally not fun, especially since this is probably one of the toughest fights in the entire game.
I just did it last night and finished building privlabits. I annoyed me tbh the only trouble I had was trying to sabatage the arrows and the food but I took me one try to fight through the camp and bearly five hits to runt and that was it I build him up to be a much bigger threat than I thought ahah the rebuilding was cool but kind of annoying how you can't has certain building.
You can jump over the back wall to get into the church area while the door is closed - access through the woods. Stand on a bush, then hop over. Horse can do it easier.
That is true, but I had "beef" with the door at the time ;) Also I wanted to show that you could open some of the doors that way. I have not perfected it, but seems to work on some doors that actually open. Tricky, but possible.
This quest or either the part of the quest of just messing around with the bandits is some of the best fun I had with this game. Especially since even if you screwed up, you do not fail it. It is just Henry running away for his life from 15 angry bandits and cumans. This battle in my opinion is greater than the ending battle, especially if you did not max out your character. This battle was just gritty and hard. The ending battle was just a place for you to feel like a god of combat. Both do their jobs but I do like this one better :)
@@helicalgoose Yeah, true especially since I followed your guide on leveling up in Skalitz so I was around level 16 when arriving there. :) It was just fun messing with them. Mounted combat is just so op, so even if I can't beat them on foot, I can do so easily on horseback. That being said, I recently installed a mod so that I can put my polearms into inventory - much better. Even in real life, I'd take a halberd over a sword almost anytime.
You know I tried getting over that a few times. It seem like it was possible, but I could not get it to work. I am glad that you were able to do it, I will have to go back and give it another try sometime just to make myself feel better ;)
There is a spot aroumd the back where you can just walk up the bushes to get inside. Take out the archers then shoot everyone from the archers position.
Yup, the old back door which is great for getting an easy Cuman costume too :D The whole little setup for the area is just a playground of opportunities which I think is why everyone enjoys beating it down on every playthrough :P
Ah glad you found it :D Yah, for the first time trying to do this mission the "sneaky" way is near god impossible. I have yet to find someone do it without "murder" and being caught at all. But with murder then it is quite easy or the outfit then run like heck after poisoning that one pot :P

this quest was such a pain on hardcore with all negative perks + merciful, i just did loops around on my horse and i managed to poison all their food and burn all the arrows, it was worth it because i have all the steam achievements now
Good gravy. Beating this game on Hardcore all negative perks must of a been a nightmare. Congrats on that, someday I will get there lol. The hard part is just getting out to the middle of no where and avoiding all those ambushes and not trying to get lost. Then trying to invade this camp to torch a few arrows and all jeez. But yes, I can see that doing the poison and arrows is a must, otherwise just too many people around.
@@helicalgoose i was also going for the merciful achievement at the same time which means i can't kill anyone, the ai guards struggle to beat the bandits if you don't poison them, my strategy was to learn counter attacks as soon as possible and then use a bludgeon so i don't accidentally kill the enemy while hitting them, the counter attack gives you enough time to run away far enough so the bandit starts attacking someone else
That place is crazy! I know people talk about the arrows stacks that you can get, but the massive amount of swords on one guy I have seen it too! I want to say its because NPCs pick up weapons randomly and you can kill them and they will have the items in their inventory. But, why would the NPC have that many swords and where they pick it up. Total mystery to me!
I also cleared out the camp, if you stand in the river near it only the archers can shoot at you. Had a cuman drop over 2000 arrows which was funny, and a bandit dropped 18 burghers swords
It is insane the stuff you can find at this camp, and the bandits/cumans respawn with the insane loot too. The downside is that most of the loot is hard to sell due to how heavy it is. However, if you get lucky and get the better piercing arrows drop in 2000 stack, then you got essentially unlimited arrows for the rest of the game, or either a nice 5-10k groschen stack right there :P I am always sad whenever I have to do the Nest of Vipers, because I know the loot fairy is going away.
Haha, I really do hope that the headcracker perk is in KCD2, it is just too funny. But I can see them nerfing it a little bit since one shooting Runt like that is just like, oopps...did Henry do too good? lol
You can outright murder them even earlier but they will always respawn later on. If you never got to the story quest you can farm them for resources lol. There's a jump you can do with a horse in this part, you can outright jump the walls leading to the fort where you duel the person, I think you can climb all the way up there and it may or may not trigger something (since the game seems to use area triggers). Using a horse you can jump the wall using those branches and bushes in the corner of the camp next to that wall, you'll know because your horse can jump on top of it, and it will give you space to jump on top of the wall again.
1st time in the vipers nest: Trying to use a cumin disguise and tricks to sabotage them 2nd time: Making drugs to singlehandedly destroy a small fort of bandits and then poisoning food nobody will use due to suffering from a severe case of death
I like to think the Camp's doctor is out there with all the dead bandits around...just like Look at this, another severe case of "dead". Tragic. Dead has been going around here quite bit. But I think about 99% of people playing this mission try the to do it stealthily, then say F' It, and murder everyone to get those arrows and pots sabotaged! ;)
Yup, if you have a PC you can type in the command line wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 and the dot will come back when you pull your bow out. On consoles, it doesn't work so much :(
Just did this mission last night for first time, had no idea about cuman disguise. I just got on my horse and galloped through until cutscene then ran for my life. Then that bald guy I one tapped with arrow, my sword wasn't doing much and got bored.
lol that sounds about right :P This mission people put too much effort into it, when all you need to do is go through like a madman and run away as fast as one too! The bald guy is not as fun as he could've been, he is just a big meat block. The only satisfaction I get out of him is one shot him with head cracker and strip his body while he comes back and try to punch me to death while I am still in full armor.
First time going there. There were alot more guys in the camps. This looks like you cleaned put everyone before hand. Even the barrels were already on fire I wanted to see you come in fresh and show a good way to set up the nest of vipers quests.
Would be interesting. The proper way to do it or start it for most people would be going in the back door of the cuman camp and steal the cuman outfit out of the chest or the guard that walks around there in the forest. Now doing the bandits is a bit different. They don't care about the food pots that much and probably the best time to strike is around lunch time, drop the bane potions in there and eliminate most of the guards after they finish their meal. Now getting all the arrows on fire is a bit trickier. Depending how many guards died, you can probably sneak around and get it done. If not then you can always mad dash around the camp and set everything on fire and run for it or go on a murder spree. And thinking back about video there should be the same amount of people around. Lot of times depending on day they sometimes double up at the front gate drawing people away from main camp. The game usually has a "relief" sort of interaction between the guards like one comes the other leaves, but sometimes its busted and you will get way more guards on a bridge than should be, thus the main camp look deserted. Hard to say other than this quest is probably one of the best to mess around with because the amount of bandits and cumans around to mess with.

Lol Its actually one of my favourite missions because of the different ways to go about it. I understand the point of your video was to "break" the game and I dud enjoy it

Or that is my take away. I have just lost my noodles trying to do it silently all the way, but meh there is some NPC with the highest alert levels.
Yup, the bandits will respawn all the time, well after a couple days. They are an excellent source of arrows and armor or just experience in general. With the bandit side at least, the cuman outfit works fantastic :)
Horse riding is OP :P I should show it off sometime, but it sucks that the NPCs do not have horse other than in the intro chase scene. But during the chase sequence those NPCs on horses are really bugging out, so it might of been a better decision.
@@helicalgoose Yes my stealth wasn’t at all a well developed skill at that time, though my strength was. All those nettles I picked taught me a thing or two ;)
It happens, but on the next play through you can always pick the lower option and really maul everyone in there by yourself ;) I wish there was an achievement for that, or either something more visible difference on the map. This is nice, but it often is overlooked. But then again, KCD does it quite a bit and you have to pay attention to the map or NPCs who are sooooo easy to ignore this deep into the game.
Yup the door is open before this quest starts but once the cut-scene happens it closes up. I was just curious if there was anything special beyond the doors during the time, but sadly no :( And I was trying to use the bushes behind the church too, but during the attack on the little village it was very fickle and couldn't get it to work every time :(
I usually always run Cuman armour anyways simply because I prefer its look, but funnily enough I've never actually done the scouting mission with it. Tend to just murder the entire camp cuz why not? Don't even use the tent in the video, just kinda run everyone over with my horse cuz no one can aim and if you keep moving, you wont get dismounted
The scouting mission I honestly would've near got by myself without being told that I could disguise like that, so I don't blame you. I think when I first started I just went in there and slowly picked off every guard then sabotage the camp. Which honestly feels like the best thing to do, because the disguise only works so well. I guess if you're going pacifist method, then this is the better way.
Funfact: I just waltz in with my horse, jump off it in the cuman camp, Set all the arrows on fire, go up to the bandits set all arrows on fire, and run. At night I come back sneak into the cuman camp, poison their food, run into the bandit camp poison their door and run.
This in fact one of the best options. The bandits takes like 3 hours to get wise that there is someone in their camp before they start to come after you. The cumans are much more ready to go.
Is the reticle being there while aiming with the bow a mod? I dont recall having one when i played on pc and i dont have it on the xbox version for sure either
I do not use mods quite yet. On PC you're allowed to type into the console commands to give yourself that reticle. wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 I believe you can not get it on the xbox though :( Wish they would just have an option in the game to give it back, or make it a perk for archery. (But then again there are no perks for archery! )
If you're basic, like me, you can tape thread from corner to corner on your screen to always have an x to look at. You could stick a dot on the screen as well but I didn't want to do that to my nice TV

I found a way in that keeps the door open. I was going through the back side of the church by the stone wall. I kept jumping along the wall trying to get into the camp while avoiding the guys at the entrance. Somehow it launched me up on the wooden wall platform that the archer is standing on inside. Was able to explore everything without the cutscene showing
Foot shots deaths are always amazing. Especially if they're behind a wall that I can't get to. Then to top it off, the bandits just falls over the wall to die in front of me...
I made my way to the church after the cutscene this way. I took a horse and jumped over the back wall of the church, that's all. climbed to the highest point of the church and began to shoot the bandits, I killed everyone like that, it was fun
I was thinking of adding the trick of sitting on the church and shooting people in the video. The thing that stop me was that it was sort of slow and if you sort of stop paying attention for a minute those bandits or cumans would magic their way up the ladder and Mr. Bowman is doomed lol. And the cuman outfit is OP for certain. With Cumans you only get three questions you can pass. The bandits lasts forever. Meaning you could easily farm those suckers with little worry :)
The game has so much to offer. lol Also, I fail a ton. I had to sort of rush making this video because I failed so many times trying to do something else. I might need to take a couple weeks break from KCD videos to recharge myself to try and find new things. So much failure!
@@helicalgoose I'm guessing that's because this door works differently than others. For one, it's a double door, but I believe that opening it (normally) starts a cutscene straight away, right? That might be a reason for the door not to behave like the typical 'unlock => open animation' door. It's just my theory though, and I haven't played this game myself in some time :)
@@paddotk I have the exact same thoughts as you. I can not find another double door anywhere in the game, that is open at one point then closed like this. I think Vanrik walls have a double door but those doors never or you get a battering ram to open them, but I can't budge those doors quite yet, they are different I think...but I might have to retry that sometime again.
do not worry too much. There is more coming. This week was just challenging since I went to see some friends for a whole day that I usually spent editing videos. It was well worth going out with them, but it was a challenge to bring out something in time for Tuesday. But I do feel like I need a little break on KCD otherwise I might try to beef jump in real life and end up in jail for being drunk on Schnapps trying to get onto the roof my neighbor's apartment with piles of beef.
Yup, someone has mentioned that before, but when I made this video I was using a PC that was half potato and I think the frame rates were making it hard, or I just didn't get it right. Which is most likely the case. But..."meat ramming" the door is still fun. Got to show Sigismund that Henry means business.
That is a great feeling to be able to go out there and just roll over the entire camp without breaking a sweat. Like, who needs the Talmberg garrison to join us? All we need is Henry!
There is lots of good armor out there for certain. Though I do find the best armor sometimes spawns in Skaltiz with the bandit verse guard fights. That is where the juicy stuff spawns at ;)
@@rajgill7576 Haha, the same! It is odd that none of the NPCs ever make note of how rich your Henry is. I mean even with Henry sitting on a 100k Groschen should raise some eyebrows with the nobility, like how did you get this money?!
@@rajgill7576 lol same with the charlatan at Sassu when you do the DLC for Hans Capon. He says he wants 2k for the potion and you say, sure. Then the guys says, no no its 4k now and Henry is like yah, here you go without even blinking. Here take your potion so I can avoid doing your quest :P
Well i tried it multiple times and either Henry can't jump on the wagon or when he can he just slips down. That fking mission is starting to get very frustrating
It is a tricky jump at times, so do not let that get you down. The other thing that might be a factor is your agility might be too low. I want to say higher agility or one of those stats changes your jump height. I would have to look up more to be absolutely certain, but that might be a reason why you're missing that jump as well. Also, you do not have to do all the things they ask for it, you can just skip BBQ the arrows. It changes a few things but nothing you can't smack the game around later.

It is the best place for arrow finds. Sometimes you get lucky and get "better piercing arrow" stack from the bandits and ooooh god, its game over after that :P
I never got that door closed, I killed everyone, one by one, without the cuman disguise, the last guy I killed was the sentry on the top of the wall, killed him when he descended the stairs, never got the footage.
Taking everyone out at the camp is the most fun KCD has to offer for the stealth missions. Even though this mission is buggy as ever and still doesn't work properly, I think its nearly universally one of the best missions around. Especially for the wiping out all the bandits with 1.8k arrows on them or 20 swords.
I killed all of the bandits in the camp while sneaking and picking them off with Capons bow and Herods long sword. Took about two hours from multiple deaths but I got it. I felt cheated once I went back there with the army seeing a bunch of Bandits just spawn. Free loot, though.
Free loot is amazing, especially when some of them carry 2-3k of arrows for some reason. Also the fights in that area seem much more fun than random encounters, something about that location feels fun to either slowly pick them off or run in like a mad lad and take them all down.
@@woah9122 Honestly it still is to me or up there. (There is one game breaking bug there, but 9/10 times do not see it). But I feel like the early missions did get a nice set of polish on them, but later missions seemed rushed and meh like they ran out of money or time.
@@helicalgoose Yeah it’s a good thing that KCD sky rocketed in popularity because otherwise, they probably wouldn’t of had the chance to even make a second game. Can’t wait to see how they improve on the core aspect of the game.
at night time, that gate is fully open and i killed everyone in the camp by shoot them as they climbed up the ladder from atop the church. no idea if the gate is meant to be open at night but it was.
Yah the game is strange about when that gate is open or not. Typically after cut scene it closes to make it seem that Runt is hiding in there. But just battering ram the door down and behold, empty church! We have been duped! And the church ladder combat is one of the best things to abuse :) Sometimes things can go very wrong doing that!
@@helicalgoose i shot a cumin in the back but into his shield, thankfully i managed to take him out before he was able to pull out his wpn and charge. that was scary but hilarious to abuse.
If you're using the PC version which the dot only works for. Type this into your console commands... wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 and presto the dot will come up, once you put your bow away and bring it back out :)
Ah, this is the problem you got to kill the bandits faster during the fight. When you charge the bridge you can get ahead of everyone and start wiping out the archers asap. Try to kill as many enemy NPCs before they can kill your allies. There are a few spots where your allies die way too soon, like archers on the battlements shooting down. If you light the "Hay" on fire, it will bring those archers down when you invade the cuman camp. That saves a bunch of guys for me. Also pull out your bow when you're attacking the church with a battering ram, shoot the enemy archers asap. From what I can gather the arrows they are using are going straight through the chainmail or cloth armor that your allies are wearing and will die too easily from them. Main verdict, got to kill more. Its sort of annoying to be honest, but sounds like you got to start from the start of the mission and plow through them again to save as many men as possible. Best of luck :D
I have heard that the release of this game was a buggy filled mess and I am not surprised that this mission was a replay to death. Honestly, most of the game breaking bugs are fixed, but there are a couple missions (The attack on the town) and something else that I have to start praying that it does not crash my game. And if I want to record some game play during those missions. I usually start to light candles and give extra donations to the church to get me through the troubled times.
@@helicalgoose Early release there was a specific herb station that would levitate the player endlessly into the sky until they stopped using it. The best part is when henry falls to earth and survives like master chief. I had a game ending bug during one of the quests where you trip and do questionable things with animals, lots of crashing and finally once the animations finished, nothing. The game has improved so much since release I’m considering a re-download and some DLC.
This method still doesn’t help. I’ve literally been stuck on this mission for a year and I hate it. I swear I wish I could just skip it entirely. I’ve literally tried everything
Ah I was on vacation for awhile but if you're still stuck we can give some tips here. If you're strong enough I would just shoot at one NPC and lead them out one to two at a time and slowly eat away at the camp guards. Bows are good in this area since lots of high places and also you can jump over walls and bushes to lose the NPCs following you. I would not do this mission stealthy and there is no reward for doing it stealthy. Guns ablazing is just as valid. If you can not kill everyone or doing a pacifist run, you can scout out the place then report back. No need to do sabotage unless you really want to.
Yes they respawn after a few days :( Though I have mixed feeling about that. One it sucks story wise because you want to say you wiped them out, but then again it is good they respawn because wiping that place out over and over again is actually a bit of fun :P
Yah sorry about the late reply, but if you're playing on the PC you can type into your console command " ` " the type wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 put away your bow and bring it back out and the dot should stick around :D
If you are using PC you can type into the console command wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 It is great. On the console formats I do not think it is possible. It is quite sad since the dot would save a lot of frustrations and make the game much more enjoyable.
I didn’t even need to use exploits. I just waited until night and then shredded a bunch with a bow and then killed the rest with a bow also lmao but I was also extremely decked out in plate armour and was level 16
The nest of Vipers is one of the quests either it is super tough because you're trying to do it the sneaky way. Then the nest of vipers is fun because you go in there and beat everyone with a stick and fart in their stew :P
Yah I have seen that before. For whatever reason my sorry butt could not get over that wall right away. I think Henry had a few too many pretzels and beer, but either way is good :D Disappointed that we could not start things off early by getting in there :/
I happened upon this camp when just trying to open the map some more. Didn't realize what I was getting into. Managed to drop in from behind where that free Cuman armor (and bottle of poison) is. Hadn't started the dlc as I wasn't aware of it yet. Was just thinking about how to poison the camp when I was discovered. I got backed into those "wooden stalls" that are near the back of camp, panicked, holding a shield and spamming my Stinger shouting "I'm going to die! I'm going to die!". That spot saved my life and kept them from getting behind me. I had 12 or so bodies in front of me after a few minutes of stabbing. I had to make 3 trips to get all the loot back for sale. So much adrenaline that night.
Make it happen! And Tell of the results. The great thing about this quest or the follow up, the area is a big playground for you to fight bandits or do stealth or just screw around with the NPCs. Far better than the other camps sites :P
i have to load because i saved my game and a cuman talked to me and i couldn't say anything else but charisma only i have 4 charisma and couldn't pass then all of them started attacking me
Yah, the charisma thing is a pain at the point in the game. I believe you only get a total of three "freebies" with cumans before you will have no options at all then they will just attack you after that. In the bandit camp, they don't care so enjoy your time there :D
For me the door to the chuch tower was open, i think its because morcock was in rattay were i sent him tomlook for timmy, I then stealth killed all of em muahhahaha
Oh that is right you can send him to Rattay with a pretty tough speech check. Morcock is a pretty tough bugger at that point, but disappointing you do not meet him or see him during the battle around the church, or I just missed the details not quite sure which...
This place is fantastic quest or not. I think everyone enjoys the sneaking around and collecting a ton of arrows like the 2k of arrows they drop non stop :P
Many thanks. This quest/area is probably the #1 area that most people like to screw around with. Have not seen many people dislike the area, except for trying to do the main story quest the proper way they want you to do it ;)
Honestly, I can not tell you at this time. I have not used this song in a long time and I think it got misplaced while organizing. The obvious answer, is "Ring around a rosey" from a children's TV show. Other than that I am not a 100% certain :(
i killed everyone on this mission... put 3 bottles of bane. three bottles of dollmaker in EVERY stew. burnt the arrows... reported to Sir RADZIG (edited cause I'm horrible with names)... game made me lie and tell him that 'there are alot. not just brigands but kumans too' ... lots of ded uns. *i whispered undermy breath to tell the truth...*
Dollmaker potion is one of the best "arrow" potions around. I wish it could be more useful, like poisoning the pots. I don't know if you tried, but I have not. Does doll maker potion when you poison people's food with it, does it act instantly or basically it does nothing unless you coat a weapon with it?
@@helicalgoose i tested it on a bandit respawn camp. south of the town with the monistary. on the road to the miller that has the wayfaier that speaks kuman. results where 'meh'. first when you poison a camp... you have to sneak in and its much quicker to sneak in an dkill them all or. then you have to wait till morning or next feeding (7am 12noon 6pm). they say something about being tired and sleep all day... again its something they wakeup to eat to go back to sleep soyou can sneak in the camp you already snuck into. if they do wake up they move slow and cant run after you. in short poison is useless. best to have better long range arrows (they fly fastest and straitest) with doll maker potion. also experemented with the witches brew and it didn't do anything. i was kind ahoping for a civil war/berserk thing. but nope ate it. got high. didn't drop a groshin or a thanks :(
@@nunyanunya4147 yah you bring up a good point. What is the point of poisoning the pot if you can already sneak into the camp to finish them off already. If you're that good to poison you're that good to destroy them all :P And shame with witches brew. I mean all it does for us is colorful screen for a bit, but wish it did something to the bandits like, make them drop their weapons run away screaming incoherently. Ah quite a shame.
@@helicalgoose i drank the witches potion at least 3 times a game day. it doesn't effect the 'good christian' achievement or whatever :P. i saved the czchs tripping my ass off with a carpenter's ax (looked the most like Kunik's ax and I roleplayed different rules than the the game rules. did it more immersive. wearing armour took two or three people and henry was sent out alone so he wore padded armour, swords where passed down fromgeneration to generation in that time, even being the son of a smith henry would not be able to make one or buy one. i didnt look cause touching the dead was taboo to Christians ov that era.... lots more i cant remember. great game. shame not many people likeit that much. think the combat needs polished. it goes from 'OMG HIT THE CUNT/WHERES MY STAMINA!?' to 'meh... only onearcher with the five plated bandits?' way to fast. and by the time you are good enough to get one of the cool combos built into the game... you ar eso strong they die before you get the chance to use it once.
@@nunyanunya4147 Haha, yah master strike at the end of the game is the "hit button to win game" setting. I guess it is fair, since it is suppose to be a reward for becoming a bad muther :P I think the combat might be janky too if you are playing at below 30 fps for certain. Sometimes you might get these little lag spikes and boom can't dodge or make a hit. I think people playing on console might experience the lag of doom. But this is just a guess.

When you get to the Cuman camp during the battle you can go out to the right, through the hole in the wall, and fight their reinforcements. They're just sitting there doing nothing while you fight the Cumans.
If you're looking for something new to mess around with, you might want to try the night raid on Talmberg. If you go right and get caught before knocking out the two guards to the left, then Hans never gets shot, and there's no timer on the mission. You can't open any doors, but bandits can, so you can explore the whole thing and kill all of them. Interestingly, if you "die" in this mission, Hans carries you out, and saves you.
You know, I never knew that about the Night raid. I never really got beat up to see that happen.
I will have to try it out sometime. I know there are ways to get to the tower without getting caught, but it is not very useful or exciting. :P
The night raid is pretty restrictive to my standard tricks, but I will figure something out.

If one of your allies shoots you, the arrow in your inventory counts as stolen.
For me the hardest part of that fight is not hitting your own men and it's the same for every fight where friendlies are helping. They always seem to run right in between me and the guy I'm fighting as soon as I attack.
Oh and the way enemies don't seem to have a hit box when you attack from behind most of the time while they're fighting someone else as well. It's like your weapon just refuses to connect
Yah it is a tricky thing the targeting system, also when the game causes a ton of lag it makes it that much tougher.
I remember making this video on my old computer at 30 FPS and I was just not having a good time during fights like you mention because you would have to interrupt a fight to be part of the fight :P
The best solution I found was to just shoot them with arrows if everyone is connected or if you're lucky find a pole weapon like a halberd. That thing does not care about targeting, only swinging and killing. :P

I agree. The loot sometimes is god tier and other times it is meh.
Honestly the cuman loot is trash, all with the except of the "74" damage cuman bow.
The only reason to hunt down cumans early game is to try to get one of those bows, then level up your strength to 13 I think? To use it properly.
There's an easier way. When the 4 bandits show up at the mill, just tell them where Timmy is and trundle along as they go there. They'll off the bugger and offer you a job. Now you can walk into the bandit camp with a pink tutu if it takes your fancy and no speech checks to worry about.
This is very true, but if I remember correctly things go belly up and you have to escape from this place.
Now this is not a problem if you have the mentality of "I am not trapped with 10 heavily armored enemies, they're trapped with me!"
But whatever works :D
@@helicalgoose If you tell anyone that Morcock sent you, things will go south, but in that case, just hop on the waggon next to the bandit camp entry and do a bit of bow training. Once you've offed the entire camp you have all the time in the world to sabotage the place and collect some loot.
I remember the first time I did this quest
I failed sneaking twice and didn't know I could pass as a Cuman
So I downed about 3 potions, equipped full plate and destroyed the camp entirely
This is the correct approach to this mission ;)
I honestly do not think a full sneak is possible. Like no murder.
The bloody buggers do not even sleep at night! I am sure there is a moment you should be able to do this, but I have not seen it quite yet.

I had a thought in my head that they just had enough bandits to make shifts in sleeping, but then there was always enough of them to stay awake no matter what.
I brought mutt along, tried to dismiss him near the back entrance and instead of running back to the mill, he charged the camp and couldn't die. lol I was just able to shoot at the 10+ cumans that were trying to fight him and then lure the bandits over to him and shoot them, too.
Mutt is nice to drag people out so you have a better chance to get a 1 v 1 or a 2 v 1 rather than the entire camp coming for you Henry's booty! :P
As well you can break into the monastery before you get access to it by simply climbing onto the 'scaffolding' and then summon your horse behind you. Then jump with it into the monastery and EXIT your horse midair right before it lands. You will be in a animation and get off while your horse 'dies'.
You should try escaping Vranik's hut without Zbyshek's help!

When you spoke about the overload of arrows on the Cumans, it reminded me, the other day I found one of those "interesting places" where a guy was dead next to a wagon (not related to a quest, I dont think) and he oddly enough had 20 better long distance arrows on him, only that every single one of them had a value of 0 Groschen which was odd to me. I took them and they didn't stack with my other 60 long distance arrows, any idea why that is? Wonder if it's possible to have ones with different metadata since they had the exact same stats as the normal ones.
I think you're onto something about that.
I noticed that when "obtaining" arrows from dead guards or bandits, even though they are the same arrow, they do not stack. It is quite frustrating to have to re-equip new arrows.
Now the value of zero is more interesting. I will have to look into that, but I think there might be a way to abuse the no-value items at shops, provided they are willing to purchase them in the first place :D

In these newer videos I try to have some what structure to keep the videos shorter for editing and able to get it out on time.
That video originally was about 2-3 hours long before fine editing cut down (it was about 6 hours of film before the first cut O.o') which was too long, but I did have a bunch of little tid-bits that were well worth editing it through.

I use the other entrance... try to keep the groups I have to kill small so it's more manageable. I haven't seen the sneaking through route. I've gotten my ass kicked big time doing it.
3:54 I've sometimes gotten a cut scene at that point there instead of being caught. You see some trouble between the Cumans and the bandits. I've only seen it the once. Been months since I saw it. Wish I could tell you how to trigger the cut scene there.

I'm not sure the poisoning the food works very well. Or if you using different potions will really do anything. Like I haven't noticed a difference if I use the bane poison or the sleeping one.
"Go to the Rattay presbytery..." I had to pause it there because it looked for a sec like some kind of quest update came up as if it were related to that area.

I don't think any of the guys who go with you can kill you. If you go for a pacifist playthrough, they all survived I'm pretty sure. (I had that typed before seeing you get that one with an arrow, guess they have TGM on)

Sneaking through is quite possible if I am allowed to give the bandits a little stab in the neck along the way.

I am guessing going there at around 3-5 am time range. I believe with some bandit camps I have seen that no one is watching guard and everyone (or most people) are sleeping.
Not certain on this place but that would be the time I would try for that.

At the backside of the church there is a spot where you can jump the wall around the church with your horse.
The door stays open for your stay at prybislawitz but closes once you leave to tell radzig and start the battle. Not sure if you can park your horse next to prybislawitz and then mount up and do the jump during the battle.
Standing on top of the barrels inside the church makes you invisible to the bandits so you can easily shoot them to death.
Also they can't climb to the top of the ramparts at the left of the door (looking from inside of the door) so you can shoot all the melee guys from up there, the archers however will shoot at you so that might be trouble.
Inside the church after climbing up the first ladder is a chest that doesn't despawn or reset at any point of the scouting or battle so you can stash all the bandits and cumans stuff in there and then once you get to rebuilding prybislawitz, build the rathaus, transfer all the stuff into your private chest and sell all the loot in rattay or sasau or whatever you want and have a personal chest nearby.
Yah, its a bit disappointing that you can't sequence break the game a bit more, that is the dream.
But there are no triggers set in that area so no sequence breaking for Henry, this time...
i remember the first time i played this quest i was so pissed because i could not for the life of me kill the cuman archers
Those archers are a huge pain in the beef.
They can hit really hard and take half your health if you're unlucky. It happened to me, but I just cut out the portion of killing those archers since it slowed down the already long video.

Didn't know about the dropped items exploit, but you can jump into the church compound from outside. If you go around the village from the back, you'll notice the ground is higher and slopes down towards the walls around the church. There'll be a section with a bush - get some distance from the wall and aim Henry at the bush, with luck, you can run and jump, ending up on the wall. It's not easy to do consistently, but it's definitely possible (I repeated it several times).
Can't do this during the battle sequence as that doesn't allow you to leave the area, unfortunately.
Yah sadly you can not get over there during the combat or do the beef jumping during combat.
That really put a damper on trying to break the game a bit more :P
And that back side of the church I am certain that jump is possible, but whatever happened with me, I sort of just goofed! I could not get over the fence without the beef!

You remember all the hardships and every smack talking bandits, cuman, and guard whoever crossed your path.
Going on that rampage to knock them down a peg really feels great :P
On the boss at the end I kept dieing until zi realised that the best way of beating him was just stun locking him with a flurry of punches. Try it, it's easy to just punch him to death
The stun lock is amazing!
As long as your strength is around 15 I think, you can stun lock any single opponent forever against a wall :P

I'm not even kidding, I just did this. I cheesed Prib and found 1.5k better hunting arrows on a guy. Also, in each camp, there's a box in a tent with literally TONS of gear.
There is a great argument for not doing this quest until you farm the bandits for tons of arrows.
I have no idea why the arrow farming is so profitable or useful.
If you get the better piecing arrow stack of 1.5k, they might as well start rolling the credits to the game, it is over!
Also I think the bandits respawn 4-6 in game days? Been awhile since I visit that section but that is sort of what I have noticed, but enjoy the farming!
I thought this was one of the easiest quests. The boss fight was a bit underwhelming, tbh. But overall a very fun quest that we should have an option for to repeat it as many times as we want.

I wish Runt kept that weapon he had when he first beat Henry senseless. Maybe add a mechanic where if you block he pushes you back or something unique to that guy. I mean he was suppose to be a "mountain of a man"
But when I first played against him I was hop up on potions and poison everywhere, so I think that is how I beat him on my first play through.
I remembered that me playing through the battle took me a couple times if not more and I was pretty beat up before the boss fight.
It was a fun one for certain.
And you can keep replaying it too, they drop a save right before the battle begins, so there is that option :)
@@helicalgoose when i done this battle the first time, it took me a couple days to finally finish it.
My quicksave got me messed up right before the fight with Runt. I had barely any hp left.
I tried to get him melee, that didn't work. I was getting pissed, quitting the game, getting back again.
I didn't wanna restart the whole game.
So, i got the genius idea to pull out the bow as soon as the fight starts.
Took me ages, but finally got a lucky shot with a crit in Runt's face and killed him one shot haha.
I was so damn happy and relieved

Also I will have to say that this mission is the buggiest mission in the game, so your quicksave file dying, I believe it 100%.
Every time I do this battle I have to put out a little prayer to make sure the game does not crash 3/4 the way through, otherwise, back to the start to do it all over again...
totally not fun, especially since this is probably one of the toughest fights in the entire game.
I just did it last night and finished building privlabits. I annoyed me tbh the only trouble I had was trying to sabatage the arrows and the food but I took me one try to fight through the camp and bearly five hits to runt and that was it I build him up to be a much bigger threat than I thought ahah the rebuilding was cool but kind of annoying how you can't has certain building.
You can jump over the back wall to get into the church area while the door is closed - access through the woods. Stand on a bush, then hop over. Horse can do it easier.
That is true, but I had "beef" with the door at the time ;)
Also I wanted to show that you could open some of the doors that way.
I have not perfected it, but seems to work on some doors that actually open. Tricky, but possible.

This quest or either the part of the quest of just messing around with the bandits is some of the best fun I had with this game.
Especially since even if you screwed up, you do not fail it. It is just Henry running away for his life from 15 angry bandits and cumans.
This battle in my opinion is greater than the ending battle, especially if you did not max out your character.
This battle was just gritty and hard. The ending battle was just a place for you to feel like a god of combat. Both do their jobs but I do like this one better :)
@@helicalgoose Yeah, true especially since I followed your guide on leveling up in Skalitz so I was around level 16 when arriving there. :) It was just fun messing with them. Mounted combat is just so op, so even if I can't beat them on foot, I can do so easily on horseback. That being said, I recently installed a mod so that I can put my polearms into inventory - much better. Even in real life, I'd take a halberd over a sword almost anytime.
I've been able to get over the wall at the old church by doing a run jump on the back side where there is a small rise near the wall.
You know I tried getting over that a few times.
It seem like it was possible, but I could not get it to work. I am glad that you were able to do it, I will have to go back and give it another try sometime just to make myself feel better ;)

Beef jump part was hilarious!
I like to think that using Beef in KCD is like using potions. You do not need it to beat the game, but they do help out to get into mischief.
There is a spot aroumd the back where you can just walk up the bushes to get inside. Take out the archers then shoot everyone from the archers position.
Yup, the old back door which is great for getting an easy Cuman costume too :D
The whole little setup for the area is just a playground of opportunities which I think is why everyone enjoys beating it down on every playthrough :P
at 8:06 when you uttered 'Beef jumping' I thought I just heard a beef commercial.

Yah, for the first time trying to do this mission the "sneaky" way is near god impossible. I have yet to find someone do it without "murder" and being caught at all. But with murder then it is quite easy or the outfit then run like heck after poisoning that one pot :P

this quest was such a pain on hardcore with all negative perks + merciful, i just did loops around on my horse and i managed to poison all their food and burn all the arrows, it was worth it because i have all the steam achievements now

Beating this game on Hardcore all negative perks must of a been a nightmare. Congrats on that, someday I will get there lol.
The hard part is just getting out to the middle of no where and avoiding all those ambushes and not trying to get lost. Then trying to invade this camp to torch a few arrows and all jeez.
But yes, I can see that doing the poison and arrows is a must, otherwise just too many people around.
@@helicalgoose i was also going for the merciful achievement at the same time which means i can't kill anyone, the ai guards struggle to beat the bandits if you don't poison them, my strategy was to learn counter attacks as soon as possible and then use a bludgeon so i don't accidentally kill the enemy while hitting them, the counter attack gives you enough time to run away far enough so the bandit starts attacking someone else
Once I've found 29 Burger's swords on a random bandit here in 100% condition for some reason.
Now I have 29 Burgher's swords.
It's great.
That place is crazy! I know people talk about the arrows stacks that you can get, but the massive amount of swords on one guy I have seen it too!
I want to say its because NPCs pick up weapons randomly and you can kill them and they will have the items in their inventory. But, why would the NPC have that many swords and where they pick it up. Total mystery to me!

I also cleared out the camp, if you stand in the river near it only the archers can shoot at you. Had a cuman drop over 2000 arrows which was funny, and a bandit dropped 18 burghers swords
It is insane the stuff you can find at this camp, and the bandits/cumans respawn with the insane loot too.
The downside is that most of the loot is hard to sell due to how heavy it is.
However, if you get lucky and get the better piercing arrows drop in 2000 stack, then you got essentially unlimited arrows for the rest of the game, or either a nice 5-10k groschen stack right there :P
I am always sad whenever I have to do the Nest of Vipers, because I know the loot fairy is going away.

You can outright murder them even earlier but they will always respawn later on. If you never got to the story quest you can farm them for resources lol.
There's a jump you can do with a horse in this part, you can outright jump the walls leading to the fort where you duel the person, I think you can climb all the way up there and it may or may not trigger something (since the game seems to use area triggers).
Using a horse you can jump the wall using those branches and bushes in the corner of the camp next to that wall, you'll know because your horse can jump on top of it, and it will give you space to jump on top of the wall again.
1st time in the vipers nest: Trying to use a cumin disguise and tricks to sabotage them
2nd time: Making drugs to singlehandedly destroy a small fort of bandits and then poisoning food nobody will use due to suffering from a severe case of death

But I think about 99% of people playing this mission try the to do it stealthily, then say F' It, and murder everyone to get those arrows and pots sabotaged! ;)
Wait how did you have the reticule dot when doing archery? Doesn't the game remove that? Always has for me.

Just did this mission last night for first time, had no idea about cuman disguise.
I just got on my horse and galloped through until cutscene then ran for my life.
Then that bald guy I one tapped with arrow, my sword wasn't doing much and got bored.

This mission people put too much effort into it, when all you need to do is go through like a madman and run away as fast as one too!
The bald guy is not as fun as he could've been, he is just a big meat block. The only satisfaction I get out of him is one shot him with head cracker and strip his body while he comes back and try to punch me to death while I am still in full armor.

First time going there. There were alot more guys in the camps. This looks like you cleaned put everyone before hand. Even the barrels were already on fire
I wanted to see you come in fresh and show a good way to set up the nest of vipers quests.

The proper way to do it or start it for most people would be going in the back door of the cuman camp and steal the cuman outfit out of the chest or the guard that walks around there in the forest.
Now doing the bandits is a bit different. They don't care about the food pots that much and probably the best time to strike is around lunch time, drop the bane potions in there and eliminate most of the guards after they finish their meal.
Now getting all the arrows on fire is a bit trickier. Depending how many guards died, you can probably sneak around and get it done.
If not then you can always mad dash around the camp and set everything on fire and run for it or go on a murder spree.
And thinking back about video there should be the same amount of people around. Lot of times depending on day they sometimes double up at the front gate drawing people away from main camp.
The game usually has a "relief" sort of interaction between the guards like one comes the other leaves, but sometimes its busted and you will get way more guards on a bridge than should be, thus the main camp look deserted.
Hard to say other than this quest is probably one of the best to mess around with because the amount of bandits and cumans around to mess with.

I want to say that setting the arrows on fire in the bandit camp is nearly impossible without killing someone.
Or that is my take away. I have just lost my noodles trying to do it silently all the way, but meh there is some NPC with the highest alert levels.

I went to the bandit camp with a Halberd and killed every one, then they all respawn when I come back during the next mission.
Yup, the bandits will respawn all the time, well after a couple days.
They are an excellent source of arrows and armor or just experience in general.
With the bandit side at least, the cuman outfit works fantastic :)
My way was to wipe out the whole camp with only a horse and sword. Horse riding is kinda op against foot troops in this game

I should show it off sometime, but it sucks that the NPCs do not have horse other than in the intro chase scene.
But during the chase sequence those NPCs on horses are really bugging out, so it might of been a better decision.
I just kept getting caught during this mission, so after a lot of trial and error I just made sure there were no witnesses whatsoever ;)

Ah, shit. I didn't realize picking the highest option would result in a farm getting burned-down. Sad.
It happens, but on the next play through you can always pick the lower option and really maul everyone in there by yourself ;)
I wish there was an achievement for that, or either something more visible difference on the map. This is nice, but it often is overlooked. But then again, KCD does it quite a bit and you have to pay attention to the map or NPCs who are sooooo easy to ignore this deep into the game.
You can glitch jump over the wall behind the church using the bushes too, but I've never found that mission as easy as that! :)
also the door is open when you go there before starting main quest line (after waking up at the mill)
Yup the door is open before this quest starts but once the cut-scene happens it closes up. I was just curious if there was anything special beyond the doors during the time, but sadly no :(
And I was trying to use the bushes behind the church too, but during the attack on the little village it was very fickle and couldn't get it to work every time :(
I usually always run Cuman armour anyways simply because I prefer its look, but funnily enough I've never actually done the scouting mission with it. Tend to just murder the entire camp cuz why not? Don't even use the tent in the video, just kinda run everyone over with my horse cuz no one can aim and if you keep moving, you wont get dismounted
The scouting mission I honestly would've near got by myself without being told that I could disguise like that, so I don't blame you.
I think when I first started I just went in there and slowly picked off every guard then sabotage the camp.
Which honestly feels like the best thing to do, because the disguise only works so well. I guess if you're going pacifist method, then this is the better way.

Funfact: I just waltz in with my horse, jump off it in the cuman camp, Set all the arrows on fire, go up to the bandits set all arrows on fire, and run. At night I come back sneak into the cuman camp, poison their food, run into the bandit camp poison their door and run.
This in fact one of the best options.
The bandits takes like 3 hours to get wise that there is someone in their camp before they start to come after you. The cumans are much more ready to go.

If you're basic, like me, you can tape thread from corner to corner on your screen to always have an x to look at. You could stick a dot on the screen as well but I didn't want to do that to my nice TV

I found a way in that keeps the door open. I was going through the back side of the church by the stone wall. I kept jumping along the wall trying to get into the camp while avoiding the guys at the entrance. Somehow it launched me up on the wooden wall platform that the archer is standing on inside. Was able to explore everything without the cutscene showing
I laughed hard at the foot shot 😂
Foot shots deaths are always amazing. Especially if they're behind a wall that I can't get to. Then to top it off, the bandits just falls over the wall to die in front of me...
I made my way to the church after the cutscene this way. I took a horse and jumped over the back wall of the church, that's all. climbed to the highest point of the church and began to shoot the bandits, I killed everyone like that, it was fun
And yes, I did not know that you can change into cumans and walk among them
I was thinking of adding the trick of sitting on the church and shooting people in the video.
The thing that stop me was that it was sort of slow and if you sort of stop paying attention for a minute those bandits or cumans would magic their way up the ladder and Mr. Bowman is doomed lol.
And the cuman outfit is OP for certain.
With Cumans you only get three questions you can pass. The bandits lasts forever. Meaning you could easily farm those suckers with little worry :)

what is surprising is that, this is the only instance that I know the beef trick works to open a door. I have not been able to do it anywhere else.
@@helicalgoose I'm guessing that's because this door works differently than others. For one, it's a double door, but I believe that opening it (normally) starts a cutscene straight away, right? That might be a reason for the door not to behave like the typical 'unlock => open animation' door.
It's just my theory though, and I haven't played this game myself in some time :)

I can not find another double door anywhere in the game, that is open at one point then closed like this.
I think Vanrik walls have a double door but those doors never or you get a battering ram to open them, but I can't budge those doors quite yet, they are different I think...but I might have to retry that sometime again.

This week was just challenging since I went to see some friends for a whole day that I usually spent editing videos.
It was well worth going out with them, but it was a challenge to bring out something in time for Tuesday.
But I do feel like I need a little break on KCD otherwise I might try to beef jump in real life and end up in jail for being drunk on Schnapps trying to get onto the roof my neighbor's apartment with piles of beef.

Yup, someone has mentioned that before, but when I made this video I was using a PC that was half potato and I think the frame rates were making it hard, or I just didn't get it right. Which is most likely the case.

At the back entrance you can lure cumans out forever and kill them for infinite loot. I had a huge pile of bodys
My favorite thing is always causing a huge pile of bodies, especially in a single area :P
On my second playtruh I was so strong I just walked in there and beat the shit out of the whole camp
That is a great feeling to be able to go out there and just roll over the entire camp without breaking a sweat.

Though I do find the best armor sometimes spawns in Skaltiz with the bandit verse guard fights.

Well i tried it multiple times and either Henry can't jump on the wagon or when he can he just slips down.
That fking mission is starting to get very frustrating
It is a tricky jump at times, so do not let that get you down.
The other thing that might be a factor is your agility might be too low. I want to say higher agility or one of those stats changes your jump height. I would have to look up more to be absolutely certain, but that might be a reason why you're missing that jump as well.
Also, you do not have to do all the things they ask for it, you can just skip BBQ the arrows. It changes a few things but nothing you can't smack the game around later.

I think it's a case of "the game takes, the game gives" because when i left the bandit camp i found a dead bandit with a full plate armor set!

It is the best place for arrow finds.

I never got that door closed, I killed everyone, one by one, without the cuman disguise, the last guy I killed was the sentry on the top of the wall, killed him when he descended the stairs, never got the footage.
Taking everyone out at the camp is the most fun KCD has to offer for the stealth missions.
Even though this mission is buggy as ever and still doesn't work properly, I think its nearly universally one of the best missions around. Especially for the wiping out all the bandits with 1.8k arrows on them or 20 swords.
I killed all of the bandits in the camp while sneaking and picking them off with Capons bow and Herods long sword. Took about two hours from multiple deaths but I got it. I felt cheated once I went back there with the army seeing a bunch of Bandits just spawn. Free loot, though.
Free loot is amazing, especially when some of them carry 2-3k of arrows for some reason.
Also the fights in that area seem much more fun than random encounters, something about that location feels fun to either slowly pick them off or run in like a mad lad and take them all down.

@@woah9122 Honestly it still is to me or up there. (There is one game breaking bug there, but 9/10 times do not see it).
But I feel like the early missions did get a nice set of polish on them, but later missions seemed rushed and meh like they ran out of money or time.

First time i did this quest, I slaughtered everyone with arrows.
That is a smart way to do it, especially when the bandits often have thousands of arrows on them for Henry to pick up ;)
at night time, that gate is fully open and i killed everyone in the camp by shoot them as they climbed up the ladder from atop the church. no idea if the gate is meant to be open at night but it was.
Yah the game is strange about when that gate is open or not.
Typically after cut scene it closes to make it seem that Runt is hiding in there. But just battering ram the door down and behold, empty church!

I killed the last guys in that section during the night and the remained open never got the cut scene.

If you're using the PC version which the dot only works for. Type this into your console commands...

and presto the dot will come up, once you put your bow away and bring it back out :)

Ah, this is the problem you got to kill the bandits faster during the fight.
When you charge the bridge you can get ahead of everyone and start wiping out the archers asap.
Try to kill as many enemy NPCs before they can kill your allies.
There are a few spots where your allies die way too soon, like archers on the battlements shooting down.
If you light the "Hay" on fire, it will bring those archers down when you invade the cuman camp. That saves a bunch of guys for me.
Also pull out your bow when you're attacking the church with a battering ram, shoot the enemy archers asap.
From what I can gather the arrows they are using are going straight through the chainmail or cloth armor that your allies are wearing and will die too easily from them.
Main verdict, got to kill more.
Its sort of annoying to be honest, but sounds like you got to start from the start of the mission and plow through them again to save as many men as possible.

I had to replay this stupid mission so many times because I broke it accidentally. I guess that’s what I get for playing it on release.
I have heard that the release of this game was a buggy filled mess and I am not surprised that this mission was a replay to death.
Honestly, most of the game breaking bugs are fixed, but there are a couple missions (The attack on the town) and something else that I have to start praying that it does not crash my game.
And if I want to record some game play during those missions. I usually start to light candles and give extra donations to the church to get me through the troubled times.
@@helicalgoose Early release there was a specific herb station that would levitate the player endlessly into the sky until they stopped using it. The best part is when henry falls to earth and survives like master chief.
I had a game ending bug during one of the quests where you trip and do questionable things with animals, lots of crashing and finally once the animations finished, nothing.
The game has improved so much since release I’m considering a re-download and some DLC.
This method still doesn’t help. I’ve literally been stuck on this mission for a year and I hate it. I swear I wish I could just skip it entirely. I’ve literally tried everything
Ah I was on vacation for awhile but if you're still stuck we can give some tips here.
If you're strong enough I would just shoot at one NPC and lead them out one to two at a time and slowly eat away at the camp guards. Bows are good in this area since lots of high places and also you can jump over walls and bushes to lose the NPCs following you.
I would not do this mission stealthy and there is no reward for doing it stealthy. Guns ablazing is just as valid.
If you can not kill everyone or doing a pacifist run, you can scout out the place then report back. No need to do sabotage unless you really want to.
Why beef is always the answer
Sometimes shooting people with arrows is the answer.
Unless they make beef a throw-able item, beef is mostly the answer :P

One it sucks story wise because you want to say you wiped them out, but then again it is good they respawn because wiping that place out over and over again is actually a bit of fun :P

It is great. On the console formats I do not think it is possible. It is quite sad since the dot would save a lot of frustrations and make the game much more enjoyable.

I didn’t even need to use exploits. I just waited until night and then shredded a bunch with a bow and then killed the rest with a bow also lmao but I was also extremely decked out in plate armour and was level 16
The nest of Vipers is one of the quests either it is super tough because you're trying to do it the sneaky way.
Then the nest of vipers is fun because you go in there and beat everyone with a stick and fart in their stew :P

I happened upon this camp when just trying to open the map some more. Didn't realize what I was getting into. Managed to drop in from behind where that free Cuman armor (and bottle of poison) is. Hadn't started the dlc as I wasn't aware of it yet. Was just thinking about how to poison the camp when I was discovered. I got backed into those "wooden stalls" that are near the back of camp, panicked, holding a shield and spamming my Stinger shouting "I'm going to die! I'm going to die!".
That spot saved my life and kept them from getting behind me. I had 12 or so bodies in front of me after a few minutes of stabbing. I had to make 3 trips to get all the loot back for sale. So much adrenaline that night.
Just go in with some stolen armor and a halberd

The great thing about this quest or the follow up, the area is a big playground for you to fight bandits or do stealth or just screw around with the NPCs.

i have to load because i saved my game and a cuman talked to me and i couldn't say anything else but charisma only i have 4 charisma and couldn't pass then all of them started attacking me
Yah, the charisma thing is a pain at the point in the game. I believe you only get a total of three "freebies" with cumans before you will have no options at all then they will just attack you after that.
In the bandit camp, they don't care so enjoy your time there :D

I broke in there once! But it was wayyy before the quest activated.
This place is fantastic quest or not. I think everyone enjoys the sneaking around and collecting a ton of arrows like the 2k of arrows they drop non stop :P

The high ground is the NPC's greatest weakness.
Unless they have really strong bows, then you're sort of in danger :P
i killed everyone on this mission... put 3 bottles of bane. three bottles of dollmaker in EVERY stew. burnt the arrows...

Dollmaker potion is one of the best "arrow" potions around.
I wish it could be more useful, like poisoning the pots.
I don't know if you tried, but I have not. Does doll maker potion when you poison people's food with it, does it act instantly or basically it does nothing unless you coat a weapon with it?
@@helicalgoose i tested it on a bandit respawn camp. south of the town with the monistary. on the road to the miller that has the wayfaier that speaks kuman.
results where 'meh'. first when you poison a camp... you have to sneak in and its much quicker to sneak in an dkill them all or. then you have to wait till morning or next feeding (7am 12noon 6pm).
they say something about being tired and sleep all day... again its something they wakeup to eat to go back to sleep soyou can sneak in the camp you already snuck into.
if they do wake up they move slow and cant run after you.
in short poison is useless. best to have better long range arrows (they fly fastest and straitest) with doll maker potion.
also experemented with the witches brew and it didn't do anything. i was kind ahoping for a civil war/berserk thing. but nope ate it. got high. didn't drop a groshin or a thanks :(

What is the point of poisoning the pot if you can already sneak into the camp to finish them off already.
If you're that good to poison you're that good to destroy them all :P
And shame with witches brew. I mean all it does for us is colorful screen for a bit, but wish it did something to the bandits like, make them drop their weapons run away screaming incoherently. Ah quite a shame.

it doesn't effect the 'good christian' achievement or whatever :P.
i saved the czchs tripping my ass off with a carpenter's ax (looked the most like Kunik's ax and I roleplayed different rules than the the game rules. did it more immersive. wearing armour took two or three people and henry was sent out alone so he wore padded armour, swords where passed down fromgeneration to generation in that time, even being the son of a smith henry would not be able to make one or buy one.
i didnt look cause touching the dead was taboo to Christians ov that era.... lots more i cant remember.
great game. shame not many people likeit that much. think the combat needs polished. it goes from 'OMG HIT THE CUNT/WHERES MY STAMINA!?' to 'meh... only onearcher with the five plated bandits?' way to fast. and by the time you are good enough to get one of the cool combos built into the game... you ar eso strong they die before you get the chance to use it once.
@@nunyanunya4147 Haha, yah master strike at the end of the game is the "hit button to win game" setting.
I guess it is fair, since it is suppose to be a reward for becoming a bad muther :P
I think the combat might be janky too if you are playing at below 30 fps for certain.
Sometimes you might get these little lag spikes and boom can't dodge or make a hit.
I think people playing on console might experience the lag of doom. But this is just a guess.
