After that ride to Talmberg, I had an epiphany that changed RPGs for me forever. I came to the realization that you can indeed take an arrow to the knee and have a rather successful adventuring career.
Honestly, there are a few things I still find new in this game even after playing it over 1000+ hours. Like I just learned there are so many more dialogue options with Father Godwin if you "screw up" parts of his Lubosh drinking mission or finding Karl's father was a relatively new one for me too!
I didn't notice it the first playthrough, but before you try to bury your parents put all the loot you can't carry inside the chest that used to be your home and your have it when you wake up at the Inn.
As someone who just picked up the game, you've saved me so much time, groschen, and anger just with the potion and aiming reticle tips. Thank you so so much.
Glad to hear the tips were useful! There are sooo many other things I could say and do to make the game easier, but the main thing is to beat it the first time with a little grit then afterwards the 2nd play through is so much better when you know you're free to do whatever you want in the game, well almost.
I know this sounds cliche feel good, but I had a bad day at work. Seeing Helical upload when I arrive home really puts a smile on my face. KCD is one of my best escapism. Also...for the bath services...I uh...."slept" the bathhouse madame in Rattay and I no longer can ask for bathhouse services. Her "sleeping body" is still near the campfire for hours.
Haha, that is actually a good thing I never tested if you take "care" of all the bathmaids except the one that acts a vendor, does that service goes away? I know with horse and stables if you steal or take care of them, they all disappear from the vendor menu :P
Glad to hear. I really do wish that KCD just added the option to flip the dot on or off during the game or at least put it as a "Hardcore mode" option where you lose the dot or something. Now go on with your archery fun! :D
@@Gonzalez28862 ah the button for the console view? it is .... " ` " it should be at the top left of the keyboard (American). Mine is right below the esc key if that help :D
If you leave the stolen item on the chest at a "home" location. The timer still counts down on stolen goods. So you CAN stash it, it just has to be YOUR chest.
Yes! The home chest/inns or whatever you will be fine on the count down. The problem I always had is that the items I wanted to use right away, like armor takes a looooong time to become unstolen, so I rather just leave it on Henry and pay off the guards instead :P
As far as removing stolen tags with vendors - the Tanner's wife in Talmberg has an "easy" lock vendor chest and both she and the tanner stay outside during the work day. If you don't have Luck of the Drunk yet, this is a good place to go. Huntsman Berthold's chest is also an easy one but he's a bit harder to navigate around (though he has inventory worth stealing).
Its funny you mentioned Berthold's chest. When I was recording the part to take off the tags, I thought to use his chest for armor and buy it off him since its a couple easy lock doors and very easy locked chest. But the issue seemed to be that when you place the armor in his chest, you can't buy the piece back, also...this needs more testing, but the armor disappeared. Like, its just gone. No idea where it went. It had to go somewhere, so I will be investigating this further, since, this might lead to something "fun" lol
@@helicalgoose did you happen to skip time to the next day before trying? He may have had reset day. I haven't personally used him to wash items. I have used the tanner, though.
I do love the term "wash items" I wished I used that in the video. But, I don't think it was a reset day, because I did it in broad daylight and 30 seconds later it was gone. Sooo unless I got super unlucky, I think something funky was happening. But the Tanner is a great person to use actually. If they buy everything then that is an easy place to break into and easy to steal.
@@helicalgoose just confirmed, talmberg tanner trader buys everything. Daily reset. Chest and door will lock each day but it's an easy lock and you can get the door keys very easily from bruda while he's working so you don't have to keep picking the door. I visited berthold to check that out. I put a shield in his chest and it stayed, even after an hour wait. I then put in a chest piece and a potion. Both stayed. He does reset daily and his chest does re-lock (even though he never goes in there). He and the artisan have the key to doors (outer and storage room). Cool thing about this spot is you can skip time while in the storage room without fear. Oh, one more good one is the Rattay tanner trader next to peshek. Daily reset, Buys everything. They don't enter storage room and it's not trespassing. It's 2 vendor chests- one with inventory (hard) and one with the money (easy). You can use the money one to wash or fence. Keys open outer and storage and they are easy to choke or pickpocket. It shouldn't apply to the huntsman but vendors that have items displayed means they aren't in the chest while they are displayed. What's displayed seems randomly chosen when you enter render distance (so it changes if you leave and return). Huntsman doesn't display anything but your situation made me think of it.
Surprised you didn't add on to the first tip; combining potions with water also knocks down the nourishment so you can drink more and not get overstuffed : )
OOoooo, that is actually a great point. Honestly, the nourishment being overstuffed is a real pain at times, especially when my Henry has a liquid diet :P
@@helicalgoosein pretty much all playthroughs I only drink alcohol to replenish my Henry's nourishment. Aside from bathhouse visits and potions, every calorie taken in is from booze
Many thanks! Hope you enjoy the game! It can be frustrating to play at time, but once you break it in and know what it is about, it goes real well. I am glad the little tricks help out! Lots of them are not standard in the game codex, so its sort of a learn by trial and fire at times :P Let me know if you have any questions. Also my other videos series, is just pure insanity to what you can do with the game and barely follows the story line, so don't be too confused if you do watch one of the other series, wait till after you beat the game.
Haha, It would be one thing if the water "diluted" the effects of the potions if put into water, so you have a lesser healing potion or whatever, but nope its just better overall to make more potions nearly for free :P
@@SternenruferinPatchouli1 Yah, that sounds reasonable and honestly would work better for things like Bucks blood. Most of the time I don't need the full duration of the full potion effects for a battle, but would be nice to have a 1/4 of it, so the water dilution would make sense. But I am guessing time constraints and other more pressing bugs came first rather than trying to mess with this :P
Other guides how to increase strength: "train with Bernard, engage in fist fights, make sure to grind herbalish for leg day etc. Helical: "Punch horse behind Peshek mill till you are maxed" Like seriously, your hardcore henry series might be for fun but honestly its one of the most informative walkthroughs I have ever seen, I for instance never knew that you poison and marigold decoction can be prepared by adding nettle, marigold and water without all the other steps, saved lot of time.
Ah, I loved making the Hardcore Henry series, like you said it was fun plus informative since there are so many things you can do in the game to break or make your game better. These few tips in this video are the more "calm" version that need a little time to explain, but work out. I think if I do another video like this, ill just include the "horse punching" into the setup :D
@@helicalgoose Only one thing that interests me and you could cover it in next video, how is with stolen items that get damaged over time or with use? Like food or weapons, because when their condition decreases, so does their price right? So does that time reset or is it fixed on intial value? Because I know that during In Gods Hands and all hunting quests, your poached meat when going rotten has decreased value but stolen tag remains for few hours (notable boar meat)
@@ExtremeMan10 Sooo during my testing, it seems you can just damage a piece of expensive platemail, like on someone's body if you keep stabbing it you still do damage to the items and lowering their value then reduce the timer for stealing right? Well...no. It seems the groschen stolen value tag is for the undamaged repaired item and goes from there. Sooo a fresh out the store neutral price item worth a 1000 groshcen will always be worth 1000 even if you damage it to heck before stealing it and will need the 200 in game hours to wait. Sort of a bummer to be honest :/
11:32 It kills me the way Henry moves his head around like he’s the cock of the walk with a little smirk on his face, then he just drops all emotion and mutters, “No deal.” 😂
You know, I am glad you're brought this up. I will probably have to move this into some of my edits perhaps. But you're right, he goes from goofy all engaged to dead pan...."no deal" Henry could be a great guest on Shark tank now that I think of it.
That's some really good tips. I haven't played in a while but I really like the ones about applying potions to water and pretty much BUYING a room at an inn.
The potions into water is a god send to be honest. If you're not making tons of groschen it helps stretch out the funds. Later in the game I don't do it so much but early game it makes things way easier.
In my opinion 1. Learn to take your time during duels 2. Learn when to go offensive and defensive, like if you’re getting attacked by multiple guys and one has bad armor, attack him so you can get some relief 3. Learn what playstyle you like and what weapons go well with it
I think these are really good thoughts on getting better at the game. Most people try to go too fast and then the combat punishes them. If you take it slow and follow the movements and sort of position yourself and plan, combat becomes a breeze, but its patience for certain :D Nice little tips.
I never thought I would love a FP medieval games as much as I love Skyrim… I was wrong. This sim/ game is so much better and so immersive. An amazing experience that I’d recommend to many.
Laundering items with Peshek works if you sell it to him first as well. The only thing you need lockpicking for is if you want to yoink the money difference back as well.
Haha, I do love the thought of "laundering" with Peshek. Though I do wonder if Peshek had thoughts of taking off in the middle of the night once he sold through a million groschens worth of items and be like, screw this millers business.
*Potions are good, start making them. -apply potions to GARLIC so you can consume as much of them as you want while having NO WEIGHT in your inventory. (i carry like 10-30 of each potion applied to garlic with me at all times. *Have your dog on search mode always. (if you have the dlc with the dog). *Dont do the quest for destroying bandit camps UNTIL you did all theft quests and any quests where you hang out with beggars, or hunt illegaly, those will lowers you reputation with guards. You can later improve it with the camp quests. *pickpocket EVERYBODY'S keys, makes breaking in easier later. *warhorse gear is good, (not always the best) and its super cheap to repair.
Over 700 hours into the game and I had no idea about that Garlic thing. So that's what it's for! It always felt a bit odd, but this explains it. I'm guessing honey can also be used then, and there might have been some other items as well... just thinking out loud here sorry. The devs really thought of everything, this game is full of stuff like this, I love it
@@boogiesmell5181 Honey weight is 0.8. Neutrishion is 2.5. I carry like 3-5 honey with me. with the stamina potion. For potions i use garlic since it reduces netrishion allowing you to eat even when at 100. And garlic has 0 weight.
@@stanisawzokiewski3308 No additional weight is great but sadly garlic doesn't have the advantage of multiplying your potions by 5, only water can do that.
Haha, mount and blade characters are half polish undercuts and porn mustaches :P I am still waiting for Mount and Blade 2 community to make those large mods to play on, like the LOTR mods so I can see Gandalf with a polish undercut!
Its a clever icon for certain and I like it. The "poison" or "laced" green icon of a flask I think? is sort of hard to tell. I hope they get a better icon next time for it, but I am not certain if its just suppose to be a flask to represent that the item is laced? But I am not certain what else they could use to do the same thing in the menu icon.
@@helicalgoose that's a flask? This whole time I thought was a green water drop. Console player here so I've never had the screen close enough to notice.
@@sandrosliske Hmm, I think you might be right about the green water droplet...that is a strange one. I play on a PC and edit the videos and stare at the sometimes and I can't even tell what it is! I would think it would be easier having a small skull and crossbone, but not everything is poison. Honestly, something else would have to be used to identify that things are laced would be nice.
I think the "cursed" part is the hardest thing for me to get over! Editing videos with that cursed image over and over again of Henry, I might lose even more sanity! :P
Cockrels also don't work with drinking waters unfortunately. Did a No Healing challenge run where I had to keep drinking cockrels for energy and couldn't duplicate them. Also fun fact, poisons will get mixed in the drinking waters and can't be applied to weapons but can be put in cooking pots for missions like Prybislavitz you can poison all 3 cooking pots with just 1 poison mixed with drinking waters rather than 3. Love the content bud!
Ah yah, the easiest way I figure out was that anything that gives an " duration effect" like healing or stamina, could work with water. But things like cockrels or schnapps which are more of a flat effect like nourishment and rest meter, do not work with the water trick or can't be applied at all. And the no healing run is a crazy one indeed, but a good way around from getting healed all from sleeping or anything else. :P
Ah yah, the way I would sort of get around that without cheat mod would be tracking 100 health counter and checking how much damage gets done after being hit. This wouldn't be perfect because of stamina losses due to health, but screw to that this is hard enough already :P Nice work on that btw, it must of been really annoying to do but satisfying!
@helicalgoose since I did it in hardcore mode the only way to check was to open inventory each time. Cheat mod easy enough just knowing where the game tries to heal (for example start of Prybi battle) and just reset health to what it was prior. That's not a bad idea though!
@@Griff_Gaming Yah, I can't claim that idea, I sort of found it off another youtube named manyatruenerd. He did a fallout 3 and fallout 4 series where he only had one health bar and kept track of damage based on a just 100 health and subtracted from damage taken whenever. That game is a bit different since endurance can give more health ect, but he had a long series and worked well in keeping track where a buggy game like fallout, lots of things can go funky. I think that KCD is the same way :P
Definitely would help if the drinking water hack had a way to tell the difference of what potion you put on each drinking water without bringing up the info menu. Like if the drinking water had in Brackets beside it the potion that was added to it I made a whole bunch of Marigold potions and have added the marigold potions to the drinking Waters so now I have a bunch of drinking waters. Since Marigold potions are so easy to make. I suppose I should have used the Lazarus potions because that will fill your health entirely if you really needed it instead of taking a couple of marigolds if your health was really low
That is the main downside the water bottle potion method. The way I get around that is that I only chug like 3-4 potions so I only have 3-4 water bottles with different amount #'s so I can sort of tell by which one has more. I think I do bucks blood, Lazarus, Hair of the dog, and nighthawk. All the other potions I just keep normal since I rarely use or need them. But yah this method also makes the Marigold potions sort of useless, since now I just chug the Lazarus potion for any little scrape or booboo Henry has :P
GREAT video! I am new to the channel and I JUST bought this game for $2.99 on the PSN store lol. Once I beat Shadow of the Erdtree I am going to play it.
Glad you enjoyed the video. These tips won't break your game which is good. I would say watch the Hardcore Henry series for more tips, but honestly, those videos are pure insanity with tips put in there. Maybe not a good idea for people that haven't played the game yet, since everything is sort of funky :P But if you need any help with the game, let us know and we can help out. Also try out the KCD reddit, they're helpful, well most of the time.
@@TheAwezomePeople Glad to hear you're enjoying the game. I really do hope that the KCD2 whenever it comes out that they plan to let the game run at 60 fps instead of the current 30 fps. I mean even for PS5s, its so sad to see that game not played at 60 fps at least. Well hope you enjoy the rest of the game :D
Nice trick with the potions, but once you've learned to read, you can make them yourselves, which costs absolutely nothing, so this trick is only really useful in the early game.
Ah that is true, but I haven't made potions in forever because I am a lazy Henry. Also, what else is he going to spend his groschen on after awhile? Rebuilding a village in the middle of forest? Naahhh, I am going to keep chugging Lazzus potions till his tummy gets full :P
Actually, that is a good point about not needing to be able to read for potions. The only good that reading does is that it puts out the ingredients for you to cook up, but honestly if you're only making a couple potions, this works out fine enough :D
I don't blame you for not knowing either. Lots of these I run into randomly, either by playing or on reddit forums. I am certain that lots of other things exist in the game that I do not know about.
For the bow I take a tiny very small piece of paper and turn it into a spitball and stick it to the reticle thats on the screen when the bow isn't equipped and it lets me know where to aim. The down side of course is that you have to have a small spitball on your screen but it's mostly ok as long as its a very small one because then its still right where the reticle is during gameplay anyway. I tried painters tape but it can still leave a little glue behind and then you have to clean the screen and I wouldn't take any chances that it makes a permanent smudge.
All roads lead to stealth archer. Or at least, using the bow is a wee bit over powered. Once you hit level 1 archery, Henry is deadly accurate and hits the invisible crosshair every time (as long he's not debilitated with the wobbles).
Many thanks! Hope you enjoy the game! It can be frustrating to play at time, but once you break it in and know what it is about, it goes real well. Let me know if you have any questions. Yup, the start is a bit of a learning curve there. Mostly take your time and enjoy it. Its a slower game at the start. But in the late beginning/early middle of the game it opens up and then you start to feel like Henry is capable person and then it sort of just flows into slowly becoming a Bohemian Demi god.
@@helicalgoose I think applying potions to drinking water is still more effective. Not only do you get 5x the amount, a couple of the potions don’t work properly when applying them to garlic. Didn’t know about the water before. Great video!
@@boo-boothealmighty6893 Yah thanks for letting me know. There are lots of details in this game that no one really knows unless people say what they found. honestly I find bugs in the game all the time, but it has me thinking at time, is this bugs or just how the game was suppose to really work :P
Another tip that might not always work let the dog bring back small game, it is not considered stolen if your not with him when he brings back the bunny rabbit.
You know that is a tip that I never thought about. Honest, I have not used the dog outside of Theresa's quest with Tinker, but I never used Mutt for anything so that is not a bad tip there for a little money making.
Two “exploits” I’ve found to make good money fast is to go to the sasau Inn and rent a room wake up just before dawn and go straight across to the barn where a guy will be sleeping pickpocket him or ko him and take his money he always has between 800-1k Groschan and repeat as many times as you want. The other one is go to the Sasau armourer and close the second door and take the 3 shields off of the desk and sell them at the Miller, you get between 3-450 for all three and you can repeat the next day when they respawn
Haha, well there are far more tips out there. If you need any tips ask away, most of the people are pretty good here, also try KCD Reddit, they do a good job. Ignore some of the trolls of course. But its a fun game, and KCD2 is just around the corner, so good time to get in and finish the game.
im sorry but i outta nowhere realized that sims 1 music you have playing and i...i.. just started rolling 😂😂🤣 i dont even know why thats funny but i dam near peed !! helical you are a charm bud dont ever stop ok!
I would like a more detailed breakdown on how reputation works. If I steal a bunch of stuff in rattay, the game suggests that even if not caught red handed, the people know. What is the ratio of knocked out people to negative rep? That kind of thing
You know that is not a bad idea. Reputation is sort of a black box to most people out there playing this game, a break down of this might be worth while. But as more time goes by playing this game, I feel like reputation doesn't do anything for me other than have NPC say nice things to me, which is partly true :P
the bow crosshair is definitely not cheating, its a dumb mechanic, no reason to be frustrated with it. I believe with the eye track might be worth playing without but without that? No way I gonna bother
I agree. The bow crosshair should be a toggle on/off feature in the menu, at least for the next game. Have it off by default if they want, but at least give us the option to play the game how we want.
I wish that was the case! There are plenty of times that you can bring bandits into an area to wipe out NPCs if you need, then collect their sweet sweet pricey shoes to sell haha
@@helicalgoose Turns out it mattered little in the end, just waiting the time for stolen goods to be sold like you had said worked better than I expected.
Yah, I have another method to wash the goods, but its a bit more tricky. I might release it later, but honestly if you can just stuff everything in a chest wait a few days and be rich then what is better than that :P
Haha, yah hardcore mode does make you play the game for real. Honestly I found hardcore mode more fun than the regular game. Once you get past all the little extra stuff its not that bad.
Well, I would wait until there is another sale, for all the DLCs you can usually pick up for 4 bucks or so. Thanksgiving is most likely the next target but if you have Steam put it on your wish list and it will tell you when it goes on sale. But I would buy all the DLC super cheap at this point. And playing them, watch out for "A woman's lot", if you talk to Theresa she will transport you to her quest but its in her point of view and its a long mission and you don't play as Henry. People are torn about this mission but lots of people don't like it. Band of Bastards is the most action heavy one and quite charming at times. Hans Capon has a funny quest or two, but its mid. Rebuilding Pribs or building your own village is a money sink to be honest. Nothing too exciting you can do there, but if you're rich and want to do a little building its good, but I was unimpressed by it. The other DLCs are treasure maps, nice but meh. Most of the DLCs are ok, but for 4 dollars for all of them, its worth the money then. I wouldn't buy them for 10 a piece, they're not worth that much at this point. Hope that helps a bit. I sort of tried to keep my answer short.
@@TheHudsonMusic Many thanks! Keep a look out for sales for certain. And once you beat the game KCD2 should be come out early next year so it will be easier to get into the sequel. Looking at the mechanics and the gameplay footage the devs release it looks similar mechanics so it should be fun.
Hmmm, you have no bathhouse options at all? Are you in the middle of the a quest? Also are you on PC or Console? That seems really strange. I have broken out of Skalitz before the tutorial was over and the bathhouse is always open for business, whether Skalitz is being burned down or a sunny day :P
Oooooh, that is a good point. And with killing lots of guards and bandits, Henry has a hefty amount of the water. That might be worth trying out! Thanks for the idea.
Ah yah, this is the new look for my Henry, but it comes off the cumans, its like a leather brigantine or something. Its rather uncommon, but I only found it off those cuman archers if you get lucky.
Honestly, I think you're correct. The face helmet is cool, the metal shield is pretty good, the scale mail armor with the shoulder pads is nice. The leather brigantine is nice too. There is another set after you complete the "Masquerade" quest with Fritz and Matthew that is pretty unique for the armor set with all the feathers, but as common set pieces the cumans really do have the more fun armor sets. While the normal armor sets are more flashy and shiny, the cumans are more detailed.
Hmm, that is a tough one, but the main advice for the lockpicking is to get it to level 6 fast as possible. There is one place in the middle of the map, if you go there before doing on of the DLCs you can essentially lockpick/pickpocket with nearly no consequences [Rarely you will get reported] But here is the link to one of my older videos. The sound quality is a bit scuff [old video] but it should give you the trick to get good enough. Once you get to level 6 and luck of the drunk perk, you can do all the lockpicks and the other become easier. ruclips.net/video/kOHGvjH4DoQ/видео.html [Sound quality a bit scuff, but it essentially does the job] Hope this helps a little, but the PS5 version is a bit wonky so sorry I can't be more help on that part :/
The brown armor is a simple Cuman chest plate. From what I have see its fairly uncommon since you can't buy, but have to get it off a mid level cuman, which can be tougher later in the game since most are carrying the metal version. Glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully there was some useful information in it all :D
The bow one is the only one I know that you can do without the downloaded mod. I think you can switch the field of view or other things, but nothing much more.
lol, hopefully "smashed" in the good way, not in the "bonk" with a mace method :P But yah, KCD2 around the corner, so good time to get a little refresher in!
13:33 New player to the game. How much do the bath house services cost? It just makes the coin sound for me but I don't seem to lose any gold? I only just realised the nourishment depletes over time so thanks for clearing that up. I guess eating all that dried meat wasn't good for Henry lol.
Best place, depends on who you have best relationship with, to get the best prices. But the people who buy just about anything for a good price once built up. Rattay Alchemist shop and Talmberg Inn keeper are my two to go places to sell things. Peshek in a pinch, but he seems to give quite a bit less, so I only do him if I am lazy.
I just throw stolen stuff in my horse inventory and forget about it. Nice nest egg for later. Also, question: when using a bow with low stamina, does the point of impact sway as well, or is it just an effect and the arrow will always hit the theoretical cross hair?
Hmm that is a good question about the stamina and the arrow swaying, this is a complex answer that might be a bit leaving unsatisfying but I will try to explain best I can or best that I know. (I am only 90% certain about this so do take a little grain of salt on this) When the stamina gets lower like close to the bottom 1/3 you see Henry start to get the shakes and the amount of sway really depends on level. However, the arrow trajectory is not impacted by the level, so if you're pointing at the center with the reticle on, the arrow is going to go in that general area. (little change at times). However, if Henry is tired or drunk, then all bets are off, even pointing at the reticle area, the arrow is just going all over the place. But under normal conditions you're only doing with the sway back and forth which depends on Henry's level. The swaying usually starts around level 1-5 and its quite bad. Level 5-10 much smaller circle and not a drunken sway, level 10-15 really firm area of shot. Level 15-20 Henry stays on target and the sway doesn't happen even towards the end of the Henry's stamina.
WhHhHyYYYyy hello there helical always a pleasure seeing your videos :D I'm curious who do you think is the best character and who is the worst including morality and stuff?
That is actually one of the future videos I do hope to put together sometime. I was thinking more of Tier system. But maybe a little different in thought process, but I do like the way you word it for more of a video essay and write up. That would be a good test/training video for essay style, just got to find the time to do it lol
Yah buddy! I thought there might be something like that too, but I didn't think they would allow you to travel between the two, thought they would be separate due to time in the game or quest line, but hopefully we get to see soon enough!
Care to tell us what Graphic enhancement do you use? Your game looks better than mine :D (unfortunately for some reasons my game won't launch when I try to have ENBS :/ )
Yup. I forgot to mention, it seems that you get fed what the water stats have, so if you're worried about being overstuffed, then water in a bag might be a better way to keep chugging more without overeating.
The game has a lot of things it doesn't tell you in the tutorial or even in the main game at all. Just years of people playing did we all find out about some of these tips lol
Ah that is not a bad tip. The only problem I have with most food in general is that now my Henry is a drunk because moonshine gives energy plus nourishment, so he doesn't have to sleep plus stays full, plus no more expiration worries. The downside I usually have to wash it down with a Hair of the dog potion, but money mid way in the game means nothing to my Henry who is causing massive inflation in 1403 lol
Sooo, if you leave the item in a box that you own, it will lose the stolen value. If you leave the item in a box you don't own, it will gain the stolen tag once you take it out. Same thing if you buy a sword legit, then you put it in a box you don't own and then take it out, it will be marked as stolen :( Best place to leave the stolen items is on your horse/person or in your box in the millers house. :D
Honestly, for KCD2 they just better give everyone the option for the bow reticle. Like have it off normally, but then give an option in the menu to turn it on. I want to say that they left it out because they wanted to make the game more challenging or realistic, but honestly playing first time without it is sooo frustrating. Now a days I can do without it, but I played a ton of KCD so hard to say anything off that.
@@helicalgoose agreed. Maybe they could make it a perk or a skill-locked thing. Then just give the arrows a little variance in flight so it’s not too easy. Maybe the variance decreases with skill too.
@@flyfishizationjones4940 That sounds like the reasonable thing to do and I like that. I want to say they already have that put into the game, or at least Henry does the right to left lean when aiming which reduces as skill goes up. But I do like your idea, I think its a nice compromise of all.
Absolutely! Honestly when I first played the game I thought drinking water was the most useless item in the game, but apparently now to me, drinking water is the best money multiplier in the game. Essentially, this makes it possible for me to keep my Henry just hop up on multi-stack potions nearly 24/7 in the game. One of the most powerful things in the game.
(on pc) I Can’t Make my game not to drop fps. it’s sad that the mission Baptism of Fire was unplayable for me. I don’t know what to do about it, I hope the next game will be more playable on my system and my system should be able too play it. So if you have any ideas on fixing it I would love your help
Ah sorry I was on vacation recently, there are a couple things you should try. Baptism of Fire is crazy on the system specs and on my old gaming laptop I had to pray multiple times for it to work and not crash. Try these things in order of desperation. -Set your graphics to the lowest possible. Like everything. -Turn off the computer and let it chill to the coldest it can get. (Like maybe 20 minutes at least) and then turn on and immediately try to play the mission. -Reduce the # of soldiers you get from Sir Radzig. You may have to go to an earlier save and ask for fewer soldiers saying there are not that many around. This could be adding lag. And just constantly keep trying to redo the mission over and over again until one time it punches it through. I know it took me 3-4 times before I get that one lucky load. Best of luck, I hope you're able to punch through. :D
Yah, let me know if it works for you. If these tips do not work I got a few more ideas, but these are the tried and true ones that do not require much adjustments to your current game. Best of luck! The game sort of opens up a bit more after this mission so it should be good to see if fixed :D
@@helicalgoose I did complete the mission then I played it some time ago. Bye just get the ai to kill them all until my fps was playable but I still get a low fps in the game and weirdly enough when I try reducing the graphics it doesn’t affect the fps
Yah, its sort of odd like that, something with the optimization with the game is a big problem. What I want to say with that mission is just getting over that loading screen. Something happens, and I want to say anything to reduce any load off the computer might help out? I have no proof over that other than, that is how I got over that sort of mission and some luck. On my newer computer I haven't experience that same thing yet, which got me thinking that it has do something with the mission being poorly optimized for any computer. I am glad you were able to get past it! The only other mission that gives a similar problem is towards the end of the game, like final 1-2 missions so watch out and be ready for another Hail mary! But in my experience, that one is not as bad as attacking the village was.
Yup as saying below, basically you can just take your money back after you "bought" your items. No matter the price Peshek is charging, it is still free after all :P
Easy to access = (behind two very hard locked areas and one angry man asking if I would like to be on a tournament) Actually, I don't think I ever been caught by Peshek once, broad daylight just him staring at me while Henry drains his coffers.
:O That is crazy. I have to shoot arrows at him or drag corpses to my Peshek to get him to react to anything. But I guess every once in awhile he wakes up that Henry is just a big of a thief as Peshek is :P
The sims music is amazing, I fear that I will be overusing it, but honestly it just goes too well with everything. Its the perfect spice in the so called video editing kitchen!
Hello Helical. Love the video, but that's not what I'm here about. How do you make crackling?! The wiki does not enlighten me, thus I hope you can in its place.
Make crackling? Well, go to your local butcher's, buy some bacon for rendering, chop into small cubes and put into a big hot pan! Oh... wait a minute, you mean in the game? That's not a thing as far as I know, sorry.
I looked up something similar but with Elden ring and Monty Python and I wasn't disappointed. There is a similar style, for Kingdom Come someone else made, its quite good if you haven't seen it already, check it out. ruclips.net/video/rKhZ04TNIT4/видео.html
Is this an exploit?: I suck at archery, but i found out that if you try to shoot with a bow without enough agility or strength you have no control over the release, which is supoosed to be bad but it just releases at the exact same time! Everytime! Imagin tournaments. You never run out of stamina, it takes at most acouple arrows to adjust and then it’s nothing but three pointers at a more than decent pace until you finish, usually first. Just to get to archery level 5 has made me rich haha. Then you can train swords if you want.
I have only been playing for 4 days now and have figured out on my own every tip here and they was all easy to figure out but I had a custom cross hair already for when I play DayZ (I'm PC) and the water was a little by accident when I added it to a stack of water instead of my arrows and arrows also do stacks as well so use a lullaby potion and even if the one shot don't kill them there going to be a lot easier to fight
Also for PC you can get a custom cross hair off of the microscope market for free that is just a widget you tour on with windows symbol + g called ( Custom Crosshair )
lol If you have a link or remember the video I would be curious to see it. Not too many people make KCD content anymore, its such an older game that I think everyone moved onto the next thing. Well not until KCD2 comes out :D
After that ride to Talmberg, I had an epiphany that changed RPGs for me forever. I came to the realization that you can indeed take an arrow to the knee and have a rather successful adventuring career.
Haha, actually I am surprised I haven't heard that one before. I think that deserves a drink!
*Starts pouring a drink*
I consider myself a veteran of this game and you still teach me things even with the upcoming sequel
Mee too!!
Honestly, there are a few things I still find new in this game even after playing it over 1000+ hours.
Like I just learned there are so many more dialogue options with Father Godwin if you "screw up" parts of his Lubosh drinking mission or finding Karl's father was a relatively new one for me too!
So a noob veteran
Consider me as a veteran myself, mate
I began playing it again a few days ago
Do i get my veteran discount if I made it to Skalitz a second time?
I didn't notice it the first playthrough, but before you try to bury your parents put all the loot you can't carry inside the chest that used to be your home and your have it when you wake up at the Inn.

But why do plants crave them?
Because plants crave Brawndo, and Brawndo has electrolytes!

i have almost 1k hours in this game and it never occurred to me to spike the drinking water. thats a game buster, thank you!
Glad this could make a difference :D
Honestly, there is so much in this game, that i keep find out new things as I go along.
Potions and poisons in pots are permanent. I chucked a bard potion in the pot outside Rattay for a nice little boost every time I go to town.
That is amazing...I will actually have to try something like that, this could be really really useful!
Actually, they are not permanent, it resets after you drink it, though great for getting the guards drunk. It also resets after reloading.
Me after getting recommended this video after playing for 5years😢
Haha, RUclips look at all our game play for KCD and said, we all should be better than this :P
Well hopefully a few tips were helpful for you.
@@helicalgoose yes they were and the video was entertaining
The fourth tip is mind-blowing. It would help with my archery so much. Amazing.
Glad to hear. I really do wish that KCD just added the option to flip the dot on or off during the game or at least put it as a "Hardcore mode" option where you lose the dot or something.
Now go on with your archery fun! :D
@@helicalgoosewhat was the button u used tho!

@@helicalgoose Cheers : )
@@helicalgoosein pretty much all playthroughs I only drink alcohol to replenish my Henry's nourishment. Aside from bathhouse visits and potions, every calorie taken in is from booze
Just bought the game last week because of your videos and these little tricks help a lot.
Many thanks! Hope you enjoy the game! It can be frustrating to play at time, but once you break it in and know what it is about, it goes real well.
I am glad the little tricks help out! Lots of them are not standard in the game codex, so its sort of a learn by trial and fire at times :P
Let me know if you have any questions.
Also my other videos series, is just pure insanity to what you can do with the game and barely follows the story line, so don't be too confused if you do watch one of the other series, wait till after you beat the game.
i can hear Warhorse saying : lets remove that water mechanic in KCD 2 ASAP
Haha, It would be one thing if the water "diluted" the effects of the potions if put into water, so you have a lesser healing potion or whatever, but nope its just better overall to make more potions nearly for free :P
@@helicalgoose ah yeah lets say it gives you only 25% Heal of the original potion would be nice
Kingdomcome video before 20mins is crazy
lol, I feel like I haven't made a sane KCD video quite yet :P
Other guides how to increase strength: "train with Bernard, engage in fist fights, make sure to grind herbalish for leg day etc.
Helical: "Punch horse behind Peshek mill till you are maxed"
Like seriously, your hardcore henry series might be for fun but honestly its one of the most informative walkthroughs I have ever seen, I for instance never knew that you poison and marigold decoction can be prepared by adding nettle, marigold and water without all the other steps, saved lot of time.
But you're right, he goes from goofy all engaged to dead pan...."no deal"
Henry could be a great guest on Shark tank now that I think of it.
In my opinion
1. Learn to take your time during duels
2. Learn when to go offensive and defensive, like if you’re getting attacked by multiple guys and one has bad armor, attack him so you can get some relief
3. Learn what playstyle you like and what weapons go well with it
I think these are really good thoughts on getting better at the game.
Most people try to go too fast and then the combat punishes them.
If you take it slow and follow the movements and sort of position yourself and plan, combat becomes a breeze, but its patience for certain :D
Nice little tips.
I never thought I would love a FP medieval games as much as I love Skyrim… I was wrong. This sim/ game is so much better and so immersive. An amazing experience that I’d recommend to many.
Skyrim is amazing no doubt, but I think for the same reason KCD is amazing for me, is that it has the right amount of jank. Just chef's kiss amount :D
I've watched the channel for a long time. you for sure deserve more subs and views. I hope the heat from the sequel brings that for you.
@@stanisawzokiewski3308
No additional weight is great but sadly garlic doesn't have the advantage of multiplying your potions by 5, only water can do that.
I just recently picked this game back up after 4 years. A lot of this will come in handy
Now I understand the stolen items thing... The Tipp with water is great!
Glad to hear that was useful. The game doesn't really say that we can do these things, but we all just got to figure out by screwing around haha
Nice tips! The polish undercut reminds me of mount and blade characters 😂
Haha, mount and blade characters are half polish undercuts and porn mustaches :P
I am still waiting for Mount and Blade 2 community to make those large mods to play on, like the LOTR mods so I can see Gandalf with a polish undercut!
I can't believe that it was at this moment that I realised that the red hand on the stolen items is from the saying "being caught red handed"

Same here! I can't wait till they tell us the actually release date so I can actually take some time off to play the game properly :P
@helicalgoose had to use the "cheat" mod throughout because certain missions healed you as well. It was fun though!!
Ah yah, the way I would sort of get around that without cheat mod would be tracking 100 health counter and checking how much damage gets done after being hit.
This wouldn't be perfect because of stamina losses due to health, but screw to that this is hard enough already :P
Nice work on that btw, it must of been really annoying to do but satisfying!
Like if the drinking water had in Brackets beside it the potion that was added to it
I made a whole bunch of Marigold potions and have added the marigold potions to the drinking Waters so now I have a bunch of drinking waters.

No reading required for brewing. If you know what to do you don't need to read or have the recipe book.
Actually, that is a good point about not needing to be able to read for potions.
The only good that reading does is that it puts out the ingredients for you to cook up, but honestly if you're only making a couple potions, this works out fine enough :D
I’ve played this game for almost a thousand hours and didn’t know a few of these tips. 😂
I don't blame you for not knowing either. Lots of these I run into randomly, either by playing or on reddit forums. I am certain that lots of other things exist in the game that I do not know about.
I've commented on your videos ages ago but I finally got this game again on my laptop

That Sims music is just amazing. Its like the Street Fighter Guile music where it just goes with about anything out there :P
@@helicalgoose thats true and when it hits ya its fantastic too.. ill admit it took me a second lol
Since I have the speech perk that lets me use Bathhouse services for free that bath house save is even better value
Damn 300 hours in and I just learned about the potion thing
Honestly, its one of those things that I think the game never mentions but is a thing in the game, like damn, this is really helpful!
Love it!! Learned a lot and all those lanterns on the ground 😂😂😂
Not sure if this changed, but I heard you can use any poison on the water and use those to poison enemy camps
Hmmm, I think you can poison water, but it only does one at a time. However, I never tested it, so well worth trying out if you need more poison!
the bow crosshair is definitely not cheating, its a dumb mechanic, no reason to be frustrated with it. I believe with the eye track might be worth playing without but without that? No way I gonna bother
I agree.
The bow crosshair should be a toggle on/off feature in the menu, at least for the next game.
Have it off by default if they want, but at least give us the option to play the game how we want.
Education is beautiful!
Well, a little education is always good with a little drink!
*Start pouring out a drink*
Its cool tricks btw! I didnt know about water trick.
Do the same video about kdc 2 pls😅
Absolutely! If I get the time off from work, I am going to grind the game down all the way :D
KCD2 is finally coming!
Apparently spoils of war don’t count when a bandit kills a friendly NPC
I wish that was the case! There are plenty of times that you can bring bandits into an area to wipe out NPCs if you need, then collect their sweet sweet pricey shoes to sell haha
@@helicalgoose Turns out it mattered little in the end, just waiting the time for stolen goods to be sold like you had said worked better than I expected.
Yah, I have another method to wash the goods, but its a bit more tricky. I might release it later, but honestly if you can just stuff everything in a chest wait a few days and be rich then what is better than that :P
TO GET GOOD step one and only step, finish the game in hardcore
Haha, yah hardcore mode does make you play the game for real.
Honestly I found hardcore mode more fun than the regular game. Once you get past all the little extra stuff its not that bad.
I’ve JUST found this game. What DLCs should I buy and how would I play them?
@@helicalgoose DUDE YOU ROK!!! Thank you so much. I’m playing Dragons Dogma 2 right now then I’m moving to this.
The bathhouse options aren't available for me for some reason don't know if it's bugged or not
Hmmm, you have no bathhouse options at all?
Are you in the middle of the a quest?
Also are you on PC or Console? That seems really strange.
I have broken out of Skalitz before the tutorial was over and the bathhouse is always open for business, whether Skalitz is being burned down or a sunny day :P
Good tips, thank you kindly sir.
Glad they can be a help! Can't wait till KCD2 comes out.
Got to get all these helpful tips and tricks out of the way before the game comes out ;)
I wonder if you can sell the guard and bandit water and get it to act the way merchant water normally works
Oooooh, that is a good point.
And with killing lots of guards and bandits, Henry has a hefty amount of the water. That might be worth trying out! Thanks for the idea.
What is the plate armor you are wearing? Looks cool
Ah yah, this is the new look for my Henry, but it comes off the cumans, its like a leather brigantine or something. Its rather uncommon, but I only found it off those cuman archers if you get lucky.
@@helicalgoose The cumans have cooler looking armor in general, even if they offer worse stats
Any Lockpicking tricks? I am on PS4/5 and even with the simplified version of it, it is still insanely difficult to get a handle on.
Hmm, that is a tough one, but the main advice for the lockpicking is to get it to level 6 fast as possible.
There is one place in the middle of the map, if you go there before doing on of the DLCs you can essentially lockpick/pickpocket with nearly no consequences [Rarely you will get reported]
But here is the link to one of my older videos. The sound quality is a bit scuff [old video] but it should give you the trick to get good enough.
Once you get to level 6 and luck of the drunk perk, you can do all the lockpicks and the other become easier.
ruclips.net/video/kOHGvjH4DoQ/видео.html
[Sound quality a bit scuff, but it essentially does the job]
Hope this helps a little, but the PS5 version is a bit wonky so sorry I can't be more help on that part :/
Rather than use a console command I'd reccomend just turning on your dot on your monitor if you have one, best way to do it on a console atleast
Yup this is actually a big time pro tip there.
I mean anyways to get around the lack of a dot.
What armor are you wearing in this video? Looks so sick. The brown "chest plate". Thanks for the vid lots of great stuff in here. 🤙
@@helicalgoose will be especially hard to get considering I avoid cumans, for now. I'll get there though lol subbed looking forward to kcd 2 vids 🤙
So have you done a video on all the console commands wothout downloading mods or was the bow the only one that is available without a mod.
The bow one is the only one I know that you can do without the downloaded mod.
I think you can switch the field of view or other things, but nothing much more.
Feels like it's a good time to replay this. I thought I still remember how to play this game... got smashed lmao
lol, hopefully "smashed" in the good way, not in the "bonk" with a mace method :P
But yah, KCD2 around the corner, so good time to get a little refresher in!
13:33 New player to the game. How much do the bath house services cost?
It just makes the coin sound for me but I don't seem to lose any gold?
I only just realised the nourishment depletes over time so thanks for clearing that up. I guess eating all that dried meat wasn't good for Henry lol.
I see you said 30g for a wench's services
Where is the best place to sell goblets and chalices?
(I am only 90% certain about this so do take a little grain of salt on this)
When the stamina gets lower like close to the bottom 1/3 you see Henry start to get the shakes and the amount of sway really depends on level.
3:25 I use my horse as potion storage and just keep a bunch of drinking waters on me
WhHhHyYYYyy hello there helical always a pleasure seeing your videos :D
I'm curious who do you think is the best character and who is the worst including morality and stuff?
That is actually one of the future videos I do hope to put together sometime. I was thinking more of Tier system.
But maybe a little different in thought process, but I do like the way you word it for more of a video essay and write up. That would be a good test/training video for essay style, just got to find the time to do it lol
My guy, you remember me? I predicted that there will be 2 maps in kcd 2
Yah buddy!
I thought there might be something like that too, but I didn't think they would allow you to travel between the two, thought they would be separate due to time in the game or quest line, but hopefully we get to see soon enough!
Care to tell us what Graphic enhancement do you use? Your game looks better than mine :D (unfortunately for some reasons my game won't launch when I try to have ENBS :/ )
do the waterpotions also give you the hungeer points of the potion?
Yup. I forgot to mention, it seems that you get fed what the water stats have, so if you're worried about being overstuffed, then water in a bag might be a better way to keep chugging more without overeating.
Wow, definitely learned a thing or two
The game has a lot of things it doesn't tell you in the tutorial or even in the main game at all.
Just years of people playing did we all find out about some of these tips lol
Yo can add the preserve potion to spoiled food and it will make it eatable again.
I'm in my 33rd hour in game experience total on PS4 it's very addictive and I don't play FC 24 anymore 😊
8:06 it’ll still lose it stolen value if you leave it in a box though? You just have to make sure it stays in one of the two places?
Sooo, if you leave the item in a box that you own, it will lose the stolen value.
If you leave the item in a box you don't own, it will gain the stolen tag once you take it out.
Same thing if you buy a sword legit, then you put it in a box you don't own and then take it out, it will be marked as stolen :(
Best place to leave the stolen items is on your horse/person or in your box in the millers house. :D
Came so close and fumble with potions. Water...and....Garlic 😘
Ah garlic you can do the same trick?
Ooooh, that is something I rarely buy but that is good to know :D
yeah mix them with water aka 1 Potion mixed with water gives you 5 Potions :)
Why would they not make the bow reticle an option? That seems silly.
Is that the Sims music in the background? 😁
Yup, and honestly its one of the best songs made for a video game, it just goes too well with everything :D
You done a great job!
Many thanks!
Hopefully it was helpful for you and you were able to get something out of it!
I play at ps4 ,and I have joystick, and I cant 2 modificate the dificulty of the game .🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭
NOOO WWAAAYYY I NEEDED THIS
Glad to hear that this was useful for you :D
@@helicalgoose it was very! Thank you!
4:25 YOU CAN DO THAT WITH DRINKING WATER?? I thought it was to keep hydrated!
@@helicalgoose thanks for the help I appreciate your help and response hope you had a great vacation
The rebuying from peshek trick feels kind of pointless? might as well buy the stuff instead of steel it
The reason why people do it is because his chest is very easy to access. So no risk in getting your money back.
Yup as saying below, basically you can just take your money back after you "bought" your items.
No matter the price Peshek is charging, it is still free after all :P
Easy to access = (behind two very hard locked areas and one angry man asking if I would like to be on a tournament)
Actually, I don't think I ever been caught by Peshek once, broad daylight just him staring at me while Henry drains his coffers.
@@helicalgoose i could say the same thing till 2 weeks ago. He actually caught me stealing.
:O
That is crazy. I have to shoot arrows at him or drag corpses to my Peshek to get him to react to anything. But I guess every once in awhile he wakes up that Henry is just a big of a thief as Peshek is :P
very nice video and funny as usual xD

Is this an exploit?:
I suck at archery, but i found out that if you try to shoot with a bow without enough agility or strength you have no control over the release, which is supoosed to be bad but it just releases at the exact same time!
Also if you're making the potions yourself the cost for all is crazy cheap or free
Also for PC you can get a custom cross hair off of the microscope market for free that is just a widget you tour on with windows symbol + g called ( Custom Crosshair )
Ah that is a good one right there for the custom crosshairs and just say screw it all the way. Ill have to look into for certain.
