  • Kingdom Come Deliverance has now been out for over 3 years. There were tons of bugs and exploits in the initial release, but we still loved the game. Now 3 years on, is there a way to still try to break the game? You bet your groschen there are quite a few ways.

And as a side note, I did try to be a "Serial Sticher" before. I would knock people out steal all their clothes and repair them.
Then I would put the clothes back on them fully repaired.
Sadly people do not dress themselves again even if they have clothes in their inventory.
I am guessing I will have to break into their house and steal their clothes in the boxes then repair them and put them back for them to wear them perhaps?
Also side note, I believe everyone peasant in KCD has damaged clothes (besides undergarments).
Not sure if that is an extra part of RP or that peasant clothes take damage over time? Interesting mechanic if true.
I would make a series on that, but sadly giving everyone freshly sewn clothes is not that game breaking :P

It's actually scary how psychotic Henry is. He just chokes people to death and breaks their necks, with no remorse or reaction. Friends, neighbours, fellow villagers. He just snaps their necks, swings a halberd in their heads, all while keeping that blank dead inside expression. Scary.

If you want to do a lot of this without actually killing Skalitz people, you can just keep punching out Kunesh. Each time you KO him you get a chunk of XP for Strength, Agility, Warfare, and I think Vitality, plus whatever weapon/fists you used. I got to 20 in all of these that way. Kunesh doesn't report you to guards like others will and never dies, so he's perfect. Put on a movie or a few, it'll take a while. It's not quite as exciting as going around like a mad murderer like this.
You can level stealth with a ton of knock outs, but somehow someone will find out eventually and you'll have to be careful with guards. If you don't want to kill anyone, be careful here as knocking someone out too many times will actually kill them. Except for Kunesh, strangle him all you want.
I suggest taking the speech skills at the beginning since it and reading are the only skills in the game you can't cheese.
If you want to do herbalism here too, there's enough plants in Skalitz to get you to between 15-20 depending on your diligence and if you have the numbskull xp penalty. Leg Day comes too late and offers just 1 xp per animation, and is not worth banking on to level your strength. Just punch out Kunesh hundreds of times.
Various locks will relock around the town, so you can farm lockpicking XP here. Get the luck of the drunk drinking skill early to deal with the hardest relocking locks for the most xp.
Speaking of drinking, drink all of the alcohol in Skalitz to level your drinking skill. Maybe save some of it for luck of the drunk. You can't pass out in the prologue from lack of energy or overdrinking. Don't take the ascetic perk until after the prologue, it'll slow down your booze consumption from being too full. You might find being this incredibly drunk all the time to be virtually unplayable.
When you knock people out, steal all their clothes and equipment and repair it for easy maintenance XP. Then give their clothes back because you're a good lad, right? Maxing maintenance after getting your hands on the repair kits in town is the easiest skill to 20 in the game if you repair everyone's stuff. Forget about the tedious grinding wheel trick.
I can't recall if shooting the sheep with a bow will level your huntsman, but they are at least great bow practice! When you go to kill the cows, then come back, the sheep will be back. Same with the cows.
Play your cards right, you can max your stats without killing any Skalitz people. But it takes quite a bit longer than this method since Kunesh wastes so much time unconscious when he could be eating your knuckle sandwiches.
If you're playing hardcore, there's nothing to be done to keep you from bleeding out during the horse chase. All you can do is kill what you can before making it to Talmberg. If you can kill anyone at all, you bleed out very quickly and can't waste much time.
If you're doing no crime at all, just beat up Kunesh, pick flowers, and sell your flowers for booze. That's all you can really do in Skalitz, you goody two shoes.

    • @helicalgoose
      @helicalgoose  2 года назад +43

Yah Kunesh use to work :(
They patched him awhile ago to save poor Kunesh from being beaten non-stop by players.
Now after you beat him up the first time his health is so low, that the next time he gets up he only has one hit and takes about 1-2 minutes to get back up.
You could farm that, but not really worthwhile.

The Cumans show up to Skalitz and discover the butchered carcasses of hundreds of villagers and cows. @@Flyhr There is only so much money in Skalitz and you have to do a little trickery to get the full amount out of it.
The vendors in Skaltiz are, Charcoal burner, Trader lady inside building, trader lady outside, trader lad in food, trader lad in repair kits and weapons, the inn, and the cloth dealer.
Everyone buys beef except the charcoal burner guy and the cloth dealer.
The way you get their money is by buying other items off the other merchants to sell to those two merchants to get their money.
Honestly, it is not worth the effort since you can get tons of money later on, once outside Skaltiz walls :)
But that is how I did it, also you can choke out that guy who is shoveling hay, he keeps waking up with more groschen on him somehow.

Alternative: take speech in the two instances with your mother (speech is the hardest stat to raise until you get the speech perk 'final offer'). Then start picking herbs all over, get the 'leg day' perk, and from there on you will gain strength when picking herbs. Herb picking is totally legal, so pick as many as you like, and sell them off or trade them for maintenance kits.
Choke out villagers whenever you can, when your strength is higher you can start choking out guards. You can store excess stuff in the chest in the house of your parents, you can return later in the game and sell it off if need be. Kit yourself out in the stuff that gives highest charisma, and start hunting sheep. They are much easier to hunt than cows or horses, and you get a lot more xp for a killing blow than for one that just hurts, so quantity matters big time. You might be seen by villagers and they will then call the guards on you, however, with high charisma and decent speech you can tell them you work for the local lord and get out of it without penalties, which actually raises your speech skill. Hunting sheep enables you to make xp much faster, making it much less of a grind.

    • @helicalgoose

      I completely agree!
I sort of just picked strength to shorten the time and show that you can go from out of the gates to having weapons and some armor instantly!
But in a real game, pick Speech every time! Speech is tough or time consuming to obtain.

Herd the sheep in the barn next to the hobo that beats you first, then cook the mutton in his home, stash extra stuff in his chest, then sell for profit. Good thing with the drop meat, wait for respawn - so its no longer stolen.. Genius!!! beating sheep is not feasible, as the hand does not reach there. Horses are good. Standing sheep are good bow practice. Killing the villagers I believe gives negative reputation with Skalitz after their ressurection. I will start again the game and go morally ok, since I can raise stats without violence - except stealth. Moffos gonna get strangled.

  • @en_musouka
    @en_musouka 3 года назад +19

Uh, so some things to note.
    1. Zybeshek, Hans(the guy with the green hood in Skalitz, not Capon), and that one villager who attacks Henry and his friends when they throw dung at the Deutestch's house are immortal for the prologue portion. So you can just train Henry's stats by attacking them, though sheep is better if you're training the bow.
    2. You can get rid of Henry's bleeding during the Rovna portion of the prologue by having him wash in a trough. Not sure why this happens but it will get rid of the bleeding that's stuck on him. None of the troughs in Rovna can be washed in though so you'll have to send Henry to one in lower Skalitz.
    3. Olena(prologue horse) actually counts as a sidekick for the duration of the "Run!" prologue, so she can wear tack and saddles while carrying your excess items. One of the horses near where Henry saves Teresea also happens to have a 4 bag noble saddle. Remember to get your items off of her before entering Talmberg though, otherwise you'll have to kill her for them.
    4. Henry is soft capped at 30 Hunger/Energy for the "RUN!" portion of the prologue. At values higher than 30 they drop drastically faster than normal. At 30, Energy will stop decreasing while Hunger will shift to normal consumption rate.
    5. Henry can actually explore most of Bohemia even when during the "RUN!" portion of the prologue. Everything West and South of Rovna isn't actually an instant killzone for Henry, so exiting via south of Rovna pretty much gives Henry access to the rest of the map(aside from Talmberg because entering there would trigger the next portion of the game). The only issue is that if Henry is outside of the Rovna/Skalitz area for the prologue, he'll periodically take damage to his leg. Meaning you'll have to make him take a marigold potion every minute just to survive. If you can be bothered to grab all the potions in Skalitz and Rovna though, Henry has more than enough to make it to the Monastery alchemy table to make more. You'll have to make sure to manage his healing so that the damage to his leg never results in bleeding again though. It'll be fatal as Henry does not yet have bandage1 to fix it and the trough trick does not work on bleeding that was applied via the normal method(a bathhouse can save you though).

Stealing is one of the great things this game sort of got right. Almost.
I mean it feels good to sneak around during the day or night and feel like you could get caught any second, but when you don't you feel like you won big time.
Now the bad part is that it is sort of hard to tell when or if you're going to get caught. The NPCs sometimes just have magic ears or eyes and come straight at you.
I do have to investigate this and find out what really causes all this.

It's a shame that they removed/didn't add the catchpole/halberd skills. There are perks for almost every type of weapon, except the bow and the halbard. Probably because they thought that the halbard was too powerful to use. Especially since they also later changed that you can't put halbards into your inventory, like you could do with a sword.

Considering that most of the stat gains apparently come from beating up the infinite respawning cows, there doesn't seem to be any reason for killing everyone in Skalitz. The halberd would likely be a bit tougher to get, you'd need to lure the guard away somewhere you can knock him out and steal the halberd. Then let the raid happen, kill the first Cuman - the one pursuing Henry - and get his armor, then the rest as usual.
I actually killed all the Cumans in Skalitz simply by swording them from horseback using Sir Radzig's sword, it's just tedious repeated galloping up and down the path near the mill. Just make sure the damn archers don't wound you else you'll bleed out. Also, there's a back entrance to the ore washing area that op in the video missed, could probably go in there kill some Cumans but idk if the game will force you into the Rovna sequence if you get too close to the front of the area.

I've noticed that with normal melee weapons (Not a halberd), you can't seem to kill that first cuman, as he always perfect blocks your attacks, even if your skills are ridiculously high. Not sure if this applies to the other cumans, however, as after discovering this, I didn't try it on the others.
Edit: This also may have changed over time, as I discovered this months ago when I did it the first and last time.

I want to say you're correct on this. (I am not 100% certain but I am pretty sure you're right on the first cuman).
Since he is a mask wearing cuman, I think those spawn with higher skill levels, and Henry typically being a low level peasant with no perfect block, dodge, or master strikes, this guy does seem a bit tougher.
Sometimes you get lucky and he just stands there and you can poke him 12 times before he realizes that this is a fight.
Other times you get unlucky and he just flies like a bullet, no wait time and follows you all the way to the bottom of the hill at a sprint just beating your butt while you're trying to get on a horse.
Not sure what causes that last problem, but this guy is a jerk and a pain to fight at the start.

Hmm, it is tough to say, but there has not been an update (at least from Steam version) since I have posted this video.
However, I remember thinking to myself that something has slightly change and I can not put my finger on it. The technique still works (I grinned to level 6-7 recently then hopped out).
I want to say it might be villagers pathing changed or something else, since trying to train at the beef academy (The cow spawn location) it seems that the villagers that tour around do not come around as often and getting stuck more in town conversations.
Sort of annoying because randomly I will be smacking around then hear the scream of "guards" because I was too busy with Betsy in the bushes.
There is a second video with more techniques for "wiping out" the town, included the bug for unlimited stabs, all you got to do is kill Jonaka sort of deal.
But changes that kill this xp grinding nothing too much.

    • @asbestos1502
      @asbestos1502 2 года назад +2

@@helicalgoose Well that was quick! Also quick note for grinding at the beef academy (playing KCD rn), tenderising the cows with just your fists levels up strength a lot faster, an extra XP point per hit compared to the usual burghers sword. So if it's just the base strength stat (in my opinion the most useful) you wanna level up your fists are the way to go. Agility is a different story and the shortsword is the way to go with that. In that sense alternating between the two is probably optimal.
