This is a fantastic "starting point" for this versatile armor setup. I wanted to give a guide that was recreatable for everyone on every playthrough. There are some better pieces (such as coif that is 13/13 vis con) but they require a bit of RNG to acquire. Any pieces you find with better stats feel free to replace, this just sets a great foundation! Enjoy!
I found an armor piece with zero sound for the slot that you left empty. It is called brown cotehardie. I found it during a tight spot mission during band of brothers. I returned for the loot after Henry split up with kuno and there was 7 enemies still alive. I looted it from one of their bodies. The vis/con is 38/38 and zero noise. I'm not sure how much this helps but I love your video and wanted to share what I found. Thanks
Combine this with a Potion of Nightvision and a rainy Night plus Rainman Perk. You are literally invisible, the "Monster from the dark - and yes, that scares the fuck out of them andf make them flee. And yes, Doggo ruins that as fuck. And you can replace the Arms armor to Brigandies too get a Chainmail working (I think it was the Ungarian Variant one) to keep it below 0 in sound when Forester is activated but beeing above it when not. Also using just Leather Gloves is reducing the Arms Armor greatly but grants us what we need to get to 0 Sound with Mail. But, there is no need for that when sporting this as you mostly are invisible to others. And, btw: You can get to a Visibility of 0. Then you are Invisible aka "noone attacks you" in a forest - allowing to walk past animals and such. Have fun.
I'm actually stuck at Ulrich on my First playthrough bc I can't fight after not playing so long, so I decided to restart with a hardcore sneaky archer build lolwhich looks like I need to get this armor going asap
Not this game my only tip after who knows how long is your left hand knuckle is a handy reference point for aiming the bow that's about it and stay on your horse as much as you can and be a real bastard doing a shot gallop off regen and turn to get another still shot off then bolt and repeat aim for the head as much as possible
@@deadshot4245 combat stops being an issue when you realize that the Bane poison ingredients are some of the most common herbs, stays on the blade for hours and basically guarantees one hit kill
Stealth archer is always viable in an rpg but in this game so is being a "tank" with with or without good Armour. Basic plate or bandit gear is enough, alchemy plus masters strike will help in any close encounter: Pop a Lazarus or chamomile potion (or both) pre combat Use bucks blood and any other stat buff you like as well Put bane on your weapons and honestly you don't need the best Armour or weapon. Helpful perks: witcher from alchemy, thick blooded, clinch master, sprinter and the 7 mile boots perk together, add any other perk that boosts your weapon preferences Maces destroy many opponents even without the alchemy adds. One run I did an unarmed build to get merciful ach. Wouldn't mid seeing Griff's take on that!
It's on the agenda after the NPC run. Either fists only or bows only (no melee options avaliable). Probably put up a poll before doing it bc I would like to do both
Armor Needed 1. Mail Coif 2. Saxon Gauntlets 3. Short Brigandine Chausses 4. Simple Plate Pauldrons 5. Bell-Shaped Kettle Hat 6. Quiet Dark Shoes 7. Padded Black Coif 8. Decorated Black Hose 9. Necklace 10. Golden Spurs 11. Dark Saxon Gambeson 12. Black Hood 13. Padded Chausses 14. Signet Ring 15. Aachen Dark brigandine
Rq, could prob swap the gambeson with a budget dark tarred gambeson(or whatever its called, its a common bandit piece, its glitched or sum on un-updated deluxe edition and can give less then 30 noise with hauberk, coif, padded chausses, and a helm, while. It give zero noise with almost any shoes and pants if theiving, plus its dark so night stealing is easier, idk tho)
The most important stat is looking good. I always choose that over actual stats. I did the same thing with Bernard to damage leg items. I would hold the run button so I am not locked on, then jump as he swung at me. Another reason to ditch chainmail is that it's heavy. Equipped weight impacts your run speed.
I tend to go for armor that suits my build and play style over overall stats and armor rating. I like using a bow with my build which does no good if I have only plate mail, and can only ever shoot once at the start of an encounter. Being nimble is a huge factor too
@@Griff_Gaming just do as I do have 3 outfits one for trade one for robbing and lastly one for battle that way you can have a few play styles all at once also some perks are pretty pointless a few robbing perks are really not needed like you can earn money so easily if you're willing to kill and sell before I've even started any real main missions I already have most the best gear other than one of a kind weapons.... Although that's just how I play but I often just pick perks based on what will give me the most necessary thing mind you I become really op so if you are playing first play that might spoil it a little
I did the same, only cared about the look. Charisma is useless, I've never used this dialogue option if you have high strength or eloquence. And movespeed, it doesn't matter much. I'm at 29 speed with clothes and 24 with plate armor, it barely matters.
Speed makes a difference when sprinting. Honestly getting overwhelmed by several opponents with full plate and trying to get away to get to your horse or use your bow, being able to out run them even if only for a few seconds makes a big difference
@@Griff_Gaming I don't think 5 movement speed matters. I think I had 15 movespeed early game and it would be noticeable. But right now with 24, I can sprint away to get enough distance for a thrusting attack without getting hit or blocked (they won't block if you attack with a weapon with long reach)
Just started a new playthrough of KCD after never having finished it on last gen. Seeing these recent, new, interesting, and well put together videos on the game is awesome, and watching them is truly a joy. Thanks, and best wishes on your YT journey ❤
Just started KCD a few weeks ago and got no good armor yet. My man thank you! Not only explaining what to get, but where, how and how much money if required. Appreciate how thorough this video is.
One really grate thing to know: The silent chausses is not just worn by black peter, but also by some bandits, INCLUDING THE DYING BANDIT NORTH OF BURNING NEUHOF (sorry for shouting, bt this was really nice to realise)
I met not far from Rattay, behind the wooden bridge on the way from mill to Ledetchko a wandering (armored) guy who challenged me to a duel. So after i won and looted his body, voila, there was this exact piece of armor. Lucky me.
It's pretty much my go to armor set for general gameplay and main questline stuff. Versatile, light, good protection, charisma, and stealth. What more could you ask for?
@@Griff_Gaming To be able to get Theresa married and move with her to Pribyslavitz. Since she is so well trained bow assassin, no guards would have been needed there :D. Your video is great btw. Always did runs with full plate armor, ringing in woods like a christmas carols. And now even managed to take down the camp site from your video with that "noble" thief, simply just by shooting poisoned arrows from distance, lol.
I enjoyed getting full plate and being a knight but I have to say my favoruite moments were mid game wearing clothing/medium armor. It felt more 'Henry'
@@nguyentran7068 you know how there are things you can do in a game, and yet there is only one "canon choice"? I think that henry cannonically is like the mercenary type😅
@@WikterRor2807 that’s not canon. There’s merciful achievement and there’s stealth killer achievement. You can play your Henry how you want the only canon thing is you still lose your sword
I beat the game on hardcore with all negative perks today. I learned how to master strike like a boss and ride across the whole map without ever looking at it. I just have to finish an illiterate, no killing, virgin run to 100% the achievements
If you go for stealth, the tight black hose is the best. For most of the game charisma is quite overrated. I had to pass very few charisma checks and even those did not require much more than 13 or 14 points.
@@dschoene57 guards need about 15 charisma to be convinced to leave you alone. That's super useful until your speech or strength reach those numbers. An increase of maybe 3 or 4 visibility to get that charisma is worth it to me when I'm still well below 30.
@@TrialBySquire Just avoid crime early in the game or do it when you can do so with impunity. For instance, when you have finished the training with Bernard and reported to the Bailiff for patrolling the town, you are classified as a guard and the other guards won't bother you, so for the few hours before you have to meet nightingale you can carry stolen stuff by the truckload and no guard will bother you.
I have just started new hardcore play because of this video. So far I am missing some jewelry, but this armor is really great combination of stealth (with perks) and protection. Thumbs up! :)
Great guide, I've been following this. If you don't kill Black Peter, he keeps getting new armour everyday and stays in the same spot. Just keep choking him out, then sell the gear to Miller Pishek. Re: Damaging armour on purpose to apply stuffing perk to them ; fighting Cpt Bernard with the practice longsword works well, you can also jump in the corner of the training ground while doing this.
Haha funny fact about the Black Peter, I usually kill him but in my last run I didn't and found that out as well!! Luckily his poisoned sword doesn't respawn but great loot farm right next to Peshek!
7:28 if you go there at night, they’re all asleep except for a few on guard and when they go to bed they put their gear in a chest in the camp. So even if they wake up they aren’t wearing armor.
08:00 for plate armor there's even better variant of Aachen Dark Brigandine, which is the brown one. It has 38 vis 45 con and 39 noise with same armor values than the black variant.
ive been playing the game since 2018 on launch call me basic but i always just wear full plate armor and skip the stealth and pickpocket but this is still useful info so thanks for this it might actually help for my hardcore playthrough
If you want a 20 in charisma and lots of protection for the ultimate Paladin build, the Lords of Leipa armor, decorated mail coif and hauberk, mail chausses, a chaperon, quartered combat jacket, and all the under layers/perks/accessories, you mentioned will land you a permanent 20. The chaperon does a pretty decent job at protecting your noggin believe it or not, even on hardcore mode.
I recently restarted KCD & decided to do this build. So far it coming along, I found a better padded coif with 13/13 vis/con. 0 noise. Also the legendary brown cotehardie 38/38 vis/con & 0 noise stolen from Alex, Pre Skalitz massacre. It makes this broken build even better.
There's def better pieces you can replace. I wanted to make this build so it's repeatable in any playthrough with minimal RNG. If you find better pieces through your travels by all means use those!
@ when he’s sitting at the table with the Skalitz bailiff, knock him out. When the bailiff scolds you run. When the cost is clear, you can also sneak up on the bailiff & take his stuff too. After that run to Theresa to activate RUN!
@@anbublacc5086 I tried getting it before but the baliff always kicked my butt before i had a chance to loot. is this the best piece in the game or is there something better to be had. I dont really want to start my playthough over again
You can get some pretty awesome loot if you go back to skalets, I suggest people go back there on a horse use the mount and stab technique. There are quite a few bandits there but they do have some high-level gear to sell or to wear or show case
Thank you. Just bought the RE on sale and will definitely try out this build. I’m not looking forward to the combat so really looking for the easiest experience possible.
This looks almost exactly like my loadout on my first-ever playthrough. Good to know my instincts were good! One difference was that I wore the buttoned grey cotehardie, which goes in the chainmail slot but shouldn't make any noise with the perk loadout you selected. It's just clothing so it probably doesn't make a big difference to stats though.
I love this guide, been working towards this armour build. I took the Rainman stealth perk too cos the 30% less noise when raining is actually very underrated, given how much it actually rains when you head into the forests. I can sit in front of someone in the dark when raining, they alook right at me and cannto see me. I sit there and put arrows up nostrils without detection. Have a sub for giving me a fun concept to do a playthrough with.
Regarding the stolen tags, if you have the coin, you can sell the stolen good to a fence and just buy them back at a mark up and remove the stolen tag.
@@man_nam didn’t even know you had the option to not let them search you lol. Also didn’t know it would go away after a time period like the Mf just stops looking lol
My stealth is so good I don't wear anything but the strongest or coolest looking outfit and just carry quiet shoes gloves and a dark shirt to sneak in (if I don't sneak around naked) Good video btw
Not a bad strat! Tbh I do the same now but I'll prob look to recreate this in KCD2 and use something similar in open world since you are versatile and prepped for anything at all times

Coif is pronounced the same as the word “Koi” as in “Koi fish” except for with an F on the end. Another way to explain it is like saying the word “coin” but replacing the N with an F.
www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/coif While it's been modernized to be pronounced "Koi-f" the original word come from Latin and in French it was pronounced "kwa-f". I've said it both ways and neither way is wrong
Just so you know. You can sell any stolen gear to the miller and then buy it back. That way you remove the stolen tag as you actually bought the thing.
@@dliston1What's even dumber is you don't have to buy it back, sell it to the miller then just steal it from his chest, and all his money and Bob's your mother's brother.
You can't steal them from the millers chest because they still show up as stolen. You put them in the millers chest, BUY the items back then steal the money you spent. That way you have all your money and all stolen tags gone Walk out of his front door, turn left and it's the door right in front. Should be a very hard lock and another very hard lock chest inside
Maybe someone pointed it out already but the Simple Plate Pauldrons are actually 74 noise, not 66. I think there was a typo on the Wiki. I was so confused why mine were listed as 74 and wondered if I missed a variant somehow. Confirmed that your video shows the Wiki screenshot versus the game stats to confirm at 1:37. Great build!
Yes, I think they changed the stats after wiki page and it was never updated. I put the wiki screenshot up as an easier reference but you can also see the stats in game on the left. Thanks!
I saw the riveted decorated chausses had 69 noise. I got them from Black Peter like you said. But I kinda cheated by choking out the other contestants and stealing their armour the night before the tourney. Put the armour in the chest in the back room of the house with a bird's house next to the Huntsman in town. I'm off to level 10 my drinking skills now, like your other video suggests.
So if I'm not mistaken, Black Peter wears a different outfit before the tourney than when he ambushes you on the road but I can't remember exactly all the pieces that differ. I think the chausses maybe one of them. Far as drinking, it's huge for getting gear back home when over loaded! I use it to haul weapons and armor and massive amounts of meat after boar hunting trips! Best of luck!
@@Griff_Gaming Thanks, the stealth armour guide was a great help in the game. I've since won the tourney a few times now without choking them as well. Going from memory, yes, his chausses and torso armour was slightly different, like the brigadine, gambeson and hood.
thanks for the build. Awesome stuff (i still hate that forester perk is so broken). By the way: 8:01 Aachen Dark Brigandine armor: i found a second variant as well. Yours has 38/48 vis Cons and 42 noise. I found a 38/45 and 39 noise. I got it from knocking tourney participants while sleeping.
Awesome there are a couple variants (the brown and black one) for the aachen brigandine and surprisingly the brown one has the better stats. Fortunately after the maintinence perk is applied they are both equally as effective. Thank you and glad you like the build!
You are right to get the vis con that low it is a must but it's conditional if you in a forrest, which granted most bandits bases are there. I meant to get vis con low, armor at a decent level while maintaining a noise stat of zero it's not a must but for the full build, you're right, it's essential
One of the few channels I actually clicked on like and sub when asked about. Defiantly gonna try this set in my next play-through. Seems a lot more convenient then two sets, the constant switching (and the every now and then accidental selling of one part xD). You put some real effort in this, well done!! -edit- Holy s%(t that set effect is waaaaaay to OP, hahahahahaha, briljant
There's another variant of the brigandine that has very slightly lower vis/con and noise, you'll notice it has sort of burgundy colored leather straps.
I tried to make this with all gear that was in the same place each playthrough. This isn't "optimized" with the "best" gear for each slot but it's consistent. Anything better you find as loot drops throughout the playthrough feel free to replace
@@Griff_Gaming absolutely. I had no idea about the other brigandine until I just stumbled onto it randomly, thought I'd share it. With this brigandine it lets you wear the dark combat jacket without adding any more noise too
Lol, I put together an almost identical set when I played myself two years ago, I even remember how I tried on the coif of that guy from the arena. True, my set weighed less with a little less protection, and the helmet was different
I feel the bell shaped kettle hat overall the best especially in hardcore with all negatives perks. Highest protection of any helmet without a faceplate, low vis/con and can be made to have zero noise. I'd say easily in my top 3 fav helmets in the game. Not flashy but functional
The best way to win a tourney is with the perk headcracker, 10+ strength and the one perk that allows you to win more grapples. Go in with a bastard sword and just put it away. If you grapple and elbow every time, you’ll chip away his health over 3-5 minutes without much combat skill. If you have the one perk that allows combo damage to increase, it gets stupid.
Mid or late game for sure. And I even say that in my tutorial. This is meant to be accessible at any point in a run, even at the start with minimal grinding
Fair enough. I just wanted to share a dumb and cheesy way to win the rattay tourney. Like, going into a blood sport with your bare hands is dumb enough but since it works…
Some of the gear has multiple variants. Do you have the right black hood and chausses? The black hood has 3 diff variants (the one you need has to be 6/12 vis con) and the chausses have a couple, the lighter one has higher vis con. It should have 0 noise for one you need. Same as the brigandine chausses, those have bunch of varients so double check that the stats on it are the same
@@Griff_Gaming thanks! I figure it out. It was the black hood. Seems you can only get it from black Peter when he ambushes you. I followed him after a tourney behind the arena where he went to sleep and was able to knock him out, but he had the bad version. My stats now match yours. Thanks for the great video.
@@Griff_Gaming oh also, any of the items that are marked stolen I sell to the miller and buy them back then just steal the money back from their chest. Removes the stolen status.
It's definately my favorite since I like using stealth, archery and melee seamlessly so this kind of minimizes the need to constantly switch loadout halfway through an encounter
Currently in my second play through of kingdom Come. First time was on a Xbox one X , I liked it but 30 fps wasn’t very enjoyable. A month ago I remember and decided to try on pc , since I have a maxed out pc build and it allows me to play it at very high fps. This time I decided to make myself a “fantasy” “Isekai” build. What does this means? I took the fighting related stats: strength , Defence ,Agility , Sword , Bow, Axes etc And maxed them out using console commands , I also unlocked all available Perks for them since the beginning of the game using console commands. On top of that I added 18k groschen to make sure I had more than enough to buy all the most expensive armour and weapons and out everything on me. I was overpowered and armed to my teeth. And what I find curious , is that this made me fall in love with the game , because it wasn’t that enough. The game wasn’t that simple. Even with the weakest bandits , I depended on my dog biting their legs , for me to hit them from behind and kill them. I was thinking: this game’s combat most be broken , even with maxed out stats , I can barely handle peasants. And I’m royally screwed when 2 or more actually armored soldiers attack me simultaneously. So i researched combat tutorials on RUclips and realized I had no clue of how the fighting system actually worked XD I didn’t earned my stats , so I didn’t practiced and learned all the combos I unlocked with console commands. And now I didn’t had anyone to teach me , because if I talk to them , they will tell me “me teach you? But you already know everything” So I realized how ridiculously heavy my build was and made it agile , still on the heavy side , because I’m focused on a knight long sword build. But I made it more mobile. And then I learned all the Long sword combos. Also learned to just swap to a good old mace when surrounded by several well armored bandits. I also feel the game scales a bit with your level , because the amount of almost Kinightly armored bandits I find , is not normal for an otherwise ultra realistic game. So long story short , it felt like I lived an actual short story with a moral behind it, where someone is granted superpowers , but it’s useless anyway for not knowing how to use them, so he has to put some work to actually get good. Never decided to actually restart the game without unlocking skills , because it just doesn’t fits a person like me that has at best an hour to play in 1 day , maybe 3 -4 days a week. It would take me almost half a year to have a half decent set of skills and armour. Getting on to grind for an hour and get off is not fun for me. That’s why i always appreciate games having a easy/story mode. I’m no longer a teen that can sunk 80% of his days in a videogame. But sometimes it does gets boring how big the difference between normal and easy is. I loved kingdom come this way. Challenging in terms of having to know the gameplay to win fights , but I skipped the grinding part wich I hate
That's what appealed to me about the game honestly. As you play, it's not just your character that levels up but you as the player level up. Most rpgs just have that trope of if a skill is high then damage increases. This game gives you the tools to become great but without having the knowledge on how to use them, it's useless. My favorite is bow as an example. Even at level 20 you still have to have some semblance of how to aim it even with lower sway and a slight zoom. On top of that, if you level just that skill but don't have the right strength or agility req. you're essentially at level 1 still only able to use the weakest bows. I do know what you mean as far as sinking countless hours in a game and feeling like progression isn't fast enough. Even with all my time in it this was never a "I have a couple hours to play today so I can make great progress in the game" kind for me. This was always fire this game up on a Friday and your entire weekend melts away in a flash. I think the enemies do somewhat scale but it's also spawn points. Like if you go to Skalitz after the prologue at any point, even at level 1, all the enemies there will be extremely high level. I've also had a group of 3 peasants attack me while I'm in full plate armor, combat skills maxed out, St Georges Sword on my side, and the most expensive horse in the game (like you'd think they would know better). But no 2 playthroughs are exactly the same which I really do enjoy, makes each new challenge run make me actually think about the tools the game gives you to overcome them
@@Griff_Gaming i absolutely agree with you. Sorry for how hard to understand my text most have been. I just re-read it , and the amount of typos and wrong autocorrections from my phone made it very hard to read. I wrote it very fast on my phone. I just corrected it a bit , so that if anyone else reads it , he/she has an easier time 😅
@@lawyerlawyer1215 all good, I got most of the gist of what you meant. I love hearing about other peoples experiences when they first fire up the game. It's easy for me now to sit back and say "You just have to learn the game mechanics and 'get gud' at the game" but I'm almost 4k hours into it. At first I had all the same difficulties with encounters and didn't understand what I was doing wrong. It's a steep learning curve but once you overcome it, its rewarding in a way few games are because you feel like YOU actually accomplished something, not just the game giving you levels needlessly
@@Griff_Gaming yes! This is so accurate , it feels like you are not just watching the results of grinding XP and perks , but instead you actually learned how to fight , and someone else might take your game save and suck.
I appreciate what you are saying and agree. The choices we made in real life affect our choices in how we play this game. The developers could not please us all and I hope they did not try. I played WOW (World of Warcraft) more than 10 years but as that bloom finally began to fade, I bought KCD as the most promising replacement. It has not disappointed. WOW was falling apart in terms of reward for effort and gratification for accomplishment. It pleases me that Henry has a steep learning curve and each improvement makes a perceptible difference. Some aspects of KCD were just flat out too unpleasant to swallow. Such things are highly subjective, but most can be solved with mods because there were enough other players who felt a similar reaction. For example, I just was not going to trade in Pebbles like a used car. A mod gives Pebbles the best horse stats in game so I get to keep my faithful horsie and not deny myself the upgrade. Novice Henry and the new player are both severely punished for mistakes and the game will sometimes lock up or crash. I have a save game mod so any lost game time is entirely on me. I cannot blame anything or anyone but myself and that I much prefer. Then there is this business about Henry requiring not just sleep, but a designated bed. Are we playing KCD or musical chairs? Our lone hero routinely ventures deep into untamed forest. He hunts game and bandits and mysterious loot. Such men camp out under the stars. They do not scurry back to town for nappy time. Henry is a bumpkin, not a princess who dreads pumpkins. A mod allows Henry to pitch camp anywhere outside city limits, anywhere he can find some flat and unobstructed ground. He has a lean to, a bed roll, a cook pot over a camp fire, a tree stump seat, a lore book to save game, and his magic inventory chest. Such things are pure delight when you want to loot everything not nailed down in Pribyslavitz without plodding all the way to Talmberg. You'll be dead on your feet trying to lug 20,000 arrows and 200 swords. Neither would it feel good to take a pass on those.
I went into this bandit camp at night in stealth with 0/0/0 and still had to fight! 2 dead 3 alive, they did find the body, I reckon it was AI "pathing" always know how to find you. Just got unlucky I think. The potions mixed with water though, that was game changer! That's some nice work mate, keep it up!
Yea I've had that where my stealth stats amazing and still get discovered. Worse at night since their pathing can see you while you physically can't see them so I feel for you. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for the support!
There's several Aachen specific pieces! There's a gambeson, gauntlets, chausses, and the brigandine. Maybe for a playthrough get them all and role play as yourself wearing your city's pieces!
This is a great guide, very well done 😊 I'm going to check out a few more of your videos next. Also the sprinter/ 7 mile boots are one of my fav perk combos and your maintenance recommendations are some staple perks for me!
when starting the game and arriving in talmberg, as soon as everyone is called out the castle at night, go into the left guard tower at the top, there will be exactly one person in the castle asleep and in the area. he has basically all the gear you need or at least a LOT of it
That's usually where I get most of it. I try to avoid "tutorial stuff" (everything before getting to Rattay) in these guides so it can be done at any point in the playthrough
Yeah just becareful, there's some things that get added that have wierd affects on the stats. Not sure why but if you can add stuff in that chainmail slot that doesn't throw it off, go for it!
@@Griff_Gaming OK so you might be right. For some reason my vis/consc hovers at 15 even with forester. Even if it's not actually chainmai but rather a cloth it throws the stats off
As someone with 100 hours in kcd I’d recommend stealth armor then this armor before completing band of bastards and getting max level armor plate armor
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. When I put the exact same gear on without perks, I have vis 27 cons 31 noise 30 (instead of 27) and with stuffing it goes down to 5 minimum
One of pieces is prob wrong. Double check you have the right padded chausses, hood and coif. Those all have a few variants. Also make sure the repair on the shoes is done w/ cobbler kit. Some people overlook the shoe repair
I had a run where I didn't use much armour unless I was on mission. Mostly wandering around with nice clothing, with a breastplate hidden underneath. Made random encountered quite hairy, but it's also ridiculously satisfying to take out an armoured opponent when you're in full medieval civilian drip
When I play offline I'll have special outfits on for diff situations. One is a "travel outfit" with all charisma maxed but a breast plate and Nobleman Gauntlets for added protection. You're right, something magical about taking out a group of enemies dressed like you're going to the market
@@Griff_Gaming With the sequel having a proper "Outfit" selection to easily go back and forth I can't wait to build an outfit for each occasion since its no longer a hassle
I use this fo my robber knight build: black chaperon (the bandit leader from the camp near Sasau has one) padded coif (the 13/13 one) noble's mail coif dark combat jacket (high level bandits from skalitz) dark milanese brigandine (not sure if it can be bought, but you also find that on skalitz bandits) dark saxon gambeson hunter's gloves magdeburg plate pauldrons (high level bandits too) noble's dark shoes green nobleman's hose no chainmail (too noisy) or leg armor (mostly useless, melee opponents don't target legs) stealth stats (without forester perk but with stuffing + slim fit) visibility:29 conspic. :34 noise: 0 It can reach 20 charisma easily with bathhouse buffs and flower power. Somehow you can get 0 noise even with the magdeburg plate pauldrons. You can swap them with cuman vambraces if you want to proc light armor perk, but they gives slightly worse vis/conspic/charisma stats (and dodge is kinda useless when you have riposte)
My personal favorite is the full gold trim look: -Decorated Cuirass -Augsburg Arms and Legs -Mail legs -Decorated German Helm or House of Zoul helm -Nobleman Gauntlets -Decorated Mail shirt -Noble mail coif -Dark Padded coif -Yellow variant of the Decorated Arming Doublet It’s not the absolute best defense wise or any good at stealth, but it does carry a nice charisma buff and just look really cool. Biggest downside is really just that it can be expensive. I don’t know if any of the plate here actually drops naturally besides treasure chests, so they may need to be bought from a high end blacksmith.
Great looking setup! I have several I use, this one is just that "one stop shop" if you will for versatility. One I use all the time for "Traveling Merchant" (the one I wear to go and trade between various towns but gives some protection for ambushes) -Noblemans Hat -Shirt from Stephanie -Decorated Cuirass -Black and Yellow Hood -Nobleman Gauntlets -Augsburg Plate Paudrons -Noble Yellow and Green Hose -Nobleman Boots -Riveted Bright Chausses A lot of very similar pieces to yours but made more to look cool in the dialogue screen haha and has a very nice Yellow and Green theme throughout the whole look
I have been struggling with Runt because he has an entire roster of counter attacks, seemingly infinite stamina, and basically just combos me until I die. It became pretty obvious that I need to train more and get better gear. Because I can't even hardly hit him and when I do it just bounces off of his armor. I just started understanding combat and then it throws an enemy like Runt at me.
Patience is key with enemies like Runt. Make sure to go back to captain bernard and learn Master strikes. (He will have the option avaliable under training). It will allow you to counter enemies like Runt. On top of that you can always buff your own stats with potions that can help your stats. (Ones like "aqua vitalis" can help you take less damage and "bucks blood" gives you more stamina). I just recently posted an "NPC" challenge run and I beat him at level 4 without any armor solely by having my stats boosted by potions
Are you running on normal or hard mode? He is a lot easier on normal mode. On hard mode he has better gear. Anyway by the time you are facing him, besides potions, and especially if you do not trust yourself with combos, use poisoned weapon and try to stab him in the head. It gives a lot more dmg and the poison (Bane specifically), can do the trick too. Managed few time to kill him thx to Bane potion. Few stabs in the head and done.
Stealth lvl 8 perk reduces noise, but this armor set already has 0 noise after padding, so why that perk is required? Or am I missing something due to mechanical reasons/translation error and perk works differently? Or this 0 noise comes from better Aachen brigantine I found in propably talmberg?
As a revision, you don't need that perk. In my testing I already had it and since this was all done on console I didn't have a way to test without the perk. It will work without the level 8 perk
If you do the quest to go back and get the treasure at skalitz you’ll see bandits fighting sneak to the left get the treasure and the game should save when you come back they should still be fighting take them out. If you can’t beat them load back the save and walk back to where they were and they should be gone you can loot them to get the first pieces of this set
This was more a set for not knowing what to expect. You can't switch armor in the middle of an encounter (while the swords at the top are crossed anyways) so this let's you have options how to approach, stealth, ranged or melee
@Griff_Gaming I don't know what's going on here,. If it's a UI bug, The Royal edition version of the game is patch or what, but I did all the things you mentioned and yet I just can't get the Vis/Con below 27/31 no matter what I do from the video. Also I have the GOG version if that matter. any ideas?
Not that I know of....the only one I've heard has issues with UI is the switch version. But I have heard from switch users they go into a camp and the game registers everything as it being the listed stats, just the UI doesn't reflect it (the enemies can't see them but the stats show as 27/31). Also, you have the stuffing perk selected and have made repairs on all the pieces? It's easy to overlook having the perk selected 😬
Nice set, i have one issue i can't find Simple plate pauldrons with 66 noise other stats are the same but noise is 74 and my overall noise is stuck at 27.
There's only one set of simple plate pauldrons so the ones you have are correct. 27 noise is what you have as the starting noise. Have you made the repairs to the armor? And if you have did you select the perk Stuffing in the maintinence tree?
I'd say it's not like they don't see you. Rather, they see you as fellow bandit because of your total black look. Until you get too close to raise their suspicion.
Enjoy!
Thank you very much, coming here from Skyrim I'm happy I stumble upon this.
13:58 Gittity, although i prefer female hehehe wink wink nudge nudge lol....Meow
Thanks
@butchmoore9618 thank you, I'll definately check it out. I have a mini run coming up that involves optimizing this armor so that helps!
Have fun.
Every RPG build will come back to the stealth archer
Basic plate or bandit gear is enough, alchemy plus masters strike will help in any close encounter:
Pop a Lazarus or chamomile potion (or both) pre combat
Use bucks blood and any other stat buff you like as well
Put bane on your weapons and honestly you don't need the best Armour or weapon.
Helpful perks: witcher from alchemy, thick blooded, clinch master, sprinter and the 7 mile boots perk together, add any other perk that boosts your weapon preferences
Maces destroy many opponents even without the alchemy adds.
One run I did an unarmed build to get merciful ach. Wouldn't mid seeing Griff's take on that!
It's on the agenda after the NPC run. Either fists only or bows only (no melee options avaliable). Probably put up a poll before doing it bc I would like to do both
insane, 2 visibility 0 noise with some pretty good defense, didnt even know that was possible, nice video
Thank you! I recently did a run with this as my main suit and it's pretty awesome
you can even get it better ^^
Armor Needed
1. Mail Coif
2. Saxon Gauntlets
3. Short Brigandine Chausses
4. Simple Plate Pauldrons
5. Bell-Shaped Kettle Hat
6. Quiet Dark Shoes
7. Padded Black Coif
8. Decorated Black Hose
9. Necklace
10. Golden Spurs
11. Dark Saxon Gambeson
12. Black Hood
13. Padded Chausses
14. Signet Ring
15. Aachen Dark brigandine
Thank you, using this as a checklist
Thanks a lot. Took a screenshot of your list . ❤
@@TritonSparrow Ah,shouldn't have updated the game for this walk-through.
Thanks for this!
This is like a medieval Batman build
Right?? Henry, the Dark Knight of Bohemia
@@Griff_Gaming I want to try this build now, but only clear bandit camps at night.
We have Samurai Batman, pirate Batman, and cowboy Batman.
There must be a knight Batman somewhere in the comics, right?
@@jinhunterslay1638 To be fair, batman is the Dark Knight, so that is his default.
Yeah Henry just need's a intentionally deepened and slightly raspy voice, then he will be complete!
Just started a new playthrough of KCD after never having finished it on last gen.
Seeing these recent, new, interesting, and well put together videos on the game is awesome, and watching them is truly a joy. Thanks, and best wishes on your YT journey ❤
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the game and hope you can finish your run this time! Really is a blast to play!
Just started KCD a few weeks ago and got no good armor yet. My man thank you! Not only explaining what to get, but where, how and how much money if required. Appreciate how thorough this video is.
Glad you enoyed!
ill stick to bright colours, and super loud mail. Henry dont gaf if you see em, he'll kill you either way :)
agree. i always wear the gnarliest possible armour and if i need to be sneaky i just get naked ;)
@@Swisba that's how I roll
One really grate thing to know: The silent chausses is not just worn by black peter, but also by some bandits, INCLUDING THE DYING BANDIT NORTH OF BURNING NEUHOF (sorry for shouting, bt this was really nice to realise)
I met not far from Rattay, behind the wooden bridge on the way from mill to Ledetchko a wandering (armored) guy who challenged me to a duel. So after i won and looted his body, voila, there was this exact piece of armor. Lucky me.
I didn't think this would work that well. The testing at the camps was unbelievable
It's pretty much my go to armor set for general gameplay and main questline stuff. Versatile, light, good protection, charisma, and stealth. What more could you ask for?
@@Griff_Gaming
To be able to get Theresa married and move with her to Pribyslavitz.
@Mithrandir1983 if going from "tank" builds it takes a little getting used to but the options avaliable to you are insane! Hope you enjoy!
I enjoyed getting full plate and being a knight but I have to say my favoruite moments were mid game wearing clothing/medium armor. It felt more 'Henry'
I know what you mean. It's fun having full plate but something satisfying about that slow build going from peasant and advancing up
Medium armor definetly fits henry so much more.
He isnt a fat knight.
He is a Jack of all trades, a mercenqry adventurer type
@@WikterRor2807 Fat knight lol. Anyway it's a roleplay game, your Henry is unique to others

Awesome! Glad you liked it!
I beat the game on hardcore with all negative perks today. I learned how to master strike like a boss and ride across the whole map without ever looking at it. I just have to finish an illiterate, no killing, virgin run to 100% the achievements
Awesome! And nice to see you trying to 100% achievements! Make sure not to drink with Godwin for the virgin achievement 🤣
I usually used the tight black hose but recently have found the decorated to be worth the trade-off. Gotta be stylin'!
Stylin' and profilin', Wooooo!
@@dschoene57 I'll risk it.
I have just started new hardcore play because of this video. So far I am missing some jewelry, but this armor is really great combination of stealth (with perks) and protection. Thumbs up! :)
Awesome, glad to have given the inspiration!
i love your tutorial, it's clear, you can find easilly each points, great work !
Thank you!
Yes, this is what i've also discovered. I wear it most of the time, and put on my best plate armon only for 'difficult' fights.
Same! Big battles I'll throw chainmail on, otherwise I'm in this
7:28 if you go there at night, they’re all asleep except for a few on guard and when they go to bed they put their gear in a chest in the camp. So even if they wake up they aren’t wearing armor.
Oh I'm definitely gonna try this on my current playthrough! Thanks for the info!
You got it!
08:00 for plate armor there's even better variant of Aachen Dark Brigandine, which is the brown one. It has 38 vis 45 con and 39 noise with same armor values than the black variant.
The one in Treasure Map 3 is actually the brown variant so it's the better one of the 2
ive been playing the game since 2018 on launch call me basic but i always just wear full plate armor and skip the stealth and pickpocket but this is still useful info so thanks for this it might actually help for my hardcore playthrough
Glad to be of help! Maybe this will be a fun way to switch things up!
If you find better pieces through your travels by all means use those!
how did you get the brown cotehardie from alex?
@ when he’s sitting at the table with the Skalitz bailiff, knock him out. When the bailiff scolds you run. When the cost is clear, you can also sneak up on the bailiff & take his stuff too. After that run to Theresa to activate RUN!

Nice I just bought this game recently, I will build this for sure, I like being stealth.
This is awesome for that! Plus a pretty good bit of armor for the times stealth goes wrong! Lol
Absolutely! Looks like your RPG skills were up to par and you value versatility rather than tank builds. Same here honestly
Great to hear! Thanks for the support and have fun with playthrough!
Regarding the stolen tags, if you have the coin, you can sell the stolen good to a fence and just buy them back at a mark up and remove the stolen tag.

@@Griff_Gaming True. Recently I just been RPing a bit as Henry with full knights armor and a skalitz coat overtop. The Ghost of Skalitz just fast traveling around killing all the bandits and cumans I can find 😂
The stealth perk "eh tu Brute" is devastating when you run down bandits they die with one hit with a good powerful weapon like Bailiffs mace
True that "this is crazy", but still walking in a shining armor with the sword and shield is the best option for me :) Although there should be an option for "mocking shouts" to first try scare the bandits to avoid the fight. With mandatory option "Yeah, run you cowards" :D

Just so you know. You can sell any stolen gear to the miller and then buy it back. That way you remove the stolen tag as you actually bought the thing.
That's really dumb LOL
@@dliston1What's even dumber is you don't have to buy it back, sell it to the miller then just steal it from his chest, and all his money and Bob's your mother's brother.
Where is the millers chest?
You can't steal them from the millers chest because they still show up as stolen. You put them in the millers chest, BUY the items back then steal the money you spent. That way you have all your money and all stolen tags gone
Walk out of his front door, turn left and it's the door right in front. Should be a very hard lock and another very hard lock chest inside
Damn you catch my intresting on this one. Imma gonna try that.
My favorite set tbh
Maybe someone pointed it out already but the Simple Plate Pauldrons are actually 74 noise, not 66. I think there was a typo on the Wiki. I was so confused why mine were listed as 74 and wondered if I missed a variant somehow. Confirmed that your video shows the Wiki screenshot versus the game stats to confirm at 1:37.
Great build!
Yes, I think they changed the stats after wiki page and it was never updated. I put the wiki screenshot up as an easier reference but you can also see the stats in game on the left. Thanks!
Masterpice game! Thanks Man!
Thanks for watching!
U say it's optional but the Forester perk is a must for this build. That is the only perk I don't have & still have a vis/con in the 20s
You are right to get the vis con that low it is a must but it's conditional if you in a forrest, which granted most bandits bases are there. I meant to get vis con low, armor at a decent level while maintaining a noise stat of zero it's not a must but for the full build, you're right, it's essential
this is an incredible video!
Thank you!
this was really helpful, and also fun to watch! I'm def subbing. Can't wait for more
More is on the way very soon, thank you for the support!
This is so OP. I JUST STARTED THE GAME DANG...
Glad you like it! It's def fun to play through with this
One of the few channels I actually clicked on like and sub when asked about.
Thanks for the support and glad you found it useful!
With this brigandine it lets you wear the dark combat jacket without adding any more noise too
Always nice when you randomly find a great piece of gear! Lol I'll keep my eye out for it
Lol, I put together an almost identical set when I played myself two years ago, I even remember how I tried on the coif of that guy from the arena.
Great video. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but visibility and conspicuous are still very high.
What's considered very high?
36/38 in town and still above 10 on both with forester
This is possibly the most enjoyable armor set up with 20 in all stats 0 noise and con
It's definately my favorite since I like using stealth, archery and melee seamlessly so this kind of minimizes the need to constantly switch loadout halfway through an encounter
This looks sick

Amazing content. Thanks for all your effort. Looking forward to what you’re gonna put out for KC:D2. Can’t wait!
Thanks for the support and I can't wait for KCD2 as well. Should be amazing!
I took the fighting related stats: strength , Defence ,Agility , Sword , Bow, Axes etc
And maxed them out using console commands , I also unlocked all available Perks for them since the beginning of the game using console commands.
So i researched combat tutorials on RUclips and realized I had no clue of how the fighting system actually worked XD
I didn’t earned my stats , so I didn’t practiced and learned all the combos I unlocked with console commands.
And now I didn’t had anyone to teach me , because if I talk to them , they will tell me “me teach you? But you already know everything”
So I realized how ridiculously heavy my build was and made it agile , still on the heavy side , because I’m focused on a knight long sword build.
From the armourer in Rattay, get the Riveted Decorated Chausses instead of the Short Brigandine Chausses. Better stats all round for this build.
The guy that plays dice is not there for me, I tried several times but never found the right guy sleeping. Great guide ❤Love the content 😊
He can be tough to find and his bathing sometimes leads him to wierd places. At least you can get the pants elsewhere
There's another guy that walks the paths south behind Rattay, he has those Hose and he's very easy to knockout since it's so secluded
@@HeadHunter697 Thanks,I found several on random NPCs.
Yo I'm actually from Aachen, funny that they put armor from here into the game 😁
They do have several German pieces in the game, it's cool when you see stuff like that in games and you have some connection to it 😀
@@Griff_Gaming Yeah but from my City was crazy to me, unfortunately it's just two parts but there are other very stylish armor pieces of course!
There's several Aachen specific pieces! There's a gambeson, gauntlets, chausses, and the brigandine. Maybe for a playthrough get them all and role play as yourself wearing your city's pieces!
@@Griff_Gaming Oh damn you're right lol, I just counted the heavier armor pieces the brigandine and chausses. I'll try that now 😁🙏🏻
Love my Aachen brigandine! I have one that I looted off a bandit and it's a bit more sneaky than the standard version.
This is a great guide, very well done 😊 I'm going to check out a few more of your videos next.
Also the sprinter/ 7 mile boots are one of my fav perk combos and your maintenance recommendations are some staple perks for me!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Just from the first 30 seconds... SOLD - sub'd
Brilliant and well played, Sir
Thank you, glad you liked it!!
Wow, I was skeptical, but am now a believer.
Awesome!!
when starting the game and arriving in talmberg, as soon as everyone is called out the castle at night, go into the left guard tower at the top, there will be exactly one person in the castle asleep and in the area. he has basically all the gear you need or at least a LOT of it
That's usually where I get most of it. I try to avoid "tutorial stuff" (everything before getting to Rattay) in these guides so it can be done at any point in the playthrough
thx I'm gonna use this on my main world or run or something
That's the main set I used on my no healing run so it works great!
@@Griff_Gaming yeah I know Ive watched that one :)
@@Griff_Gaming The run in which you died? :P
@jaydamalley3398 technically not the armors fault 🤷♂️
@@Griff_Gaming Yeah, I guess it depends on the one who's wearing it. Here's hoping U_T has more hours in KCD than you must have. :)
I think the noble cothardie would be a nice fit, (see what i did).
Seriously though, its low on vis/consc and you might as well add some extra padding
Even if it's not actually chainmai but rather a cloth it throws the stats off
Just bought the game and I'm gonna try to use this build.
Awesome!
damn it's already going to be 6 years this game was released
February 13, 2024 will be it's official 6 year anniversary!
@@Griff_Gaming I hope warhorse studios is making progress in the second game probably during the hussite wars
Hope so!
Those first 50 seconds are choice 😂
🤣
I actually gravitate to that every playthrough just switching to much secondary chestplate when Aachen gets too damaged.
As long as you carry a couple small repair kits with you it's easy enough to maintain the gear to a decent level
@@Griff_Gaming yeah, I also go by what I see looked sharp on Henry. Armors that make him look like a big guy and not a fat Henry.
I use this fo my robber knight build:
black chaperon (the bandit leader from the camp near Sasau has one)
padded coif (the 13/13 one)
noble's mail coif
dark combat jacket (high level bandits from skalitz)
dark milanese brigandine (not sure if it can be bought, but you also find that on skalitz bandits)
dark saxon gambeson
hunter's gloves
magdeburg plate pauldrons (high level bandits too)
noble's dark shoes
green nobleman's hose
no chainmail (too noisy) or leg armor (mostly useless, melee opponents don't target legs)
stealth stats (without forester perk but with stuffing + slim fit)
visibility:29
conspic. :34
noise: 0
It can reach 20 charisma easily with bathhouse buffs and flower power.
Somehow you can get 0 noise even with the magdeburg plate pauldrons.
You can swap them with cuman vambraces if you want to proc light armor perk, but they gives slightly worse vis/conspic/charisma stats (and dodge is kinda useless when you have riposte)
Sounds good
Thank you so much!!!
This is just insane.
Happy to help, go out there and make Radzig proud!
@@Griff_Gaming This guide helps a lot for having a good time and being superiour at the same time.
For sure the most versatile armor you can get. It can do it all
this mf pronounces coif correctly holy moly
You have no idea how many mfs on here told me I pronounced it wrong lol
@@Griff_Gaming I'd shit their pants
My personal favorite is the full gold trim look:
-Decorated Cuirass
-Augsburg Arms and Legs
-Mail legs
-Decorated German Helm or House of Zoul helm
-Nobleman Gauntlets
-Decorated Mail shirt
-Noble mail coif
-Dark Padded coif
-Yellow variant of the Decorated Arming Doublet
It’s not the absolute best defense wise or any good at stealth, but it does carry a nice charisma buff and just look really cool.
Biggest downside is really just that it can be expensive. I don’t know if any of the plate here actually drops naturally besides treasure chests, so they may need to be bought from a high end blacksmith.
Great looking setup! I have several I use, this one is just that "one stop shop" if you will for versatility. One I use all the time for "Traveling Merchant" (the one I wear to go and trade between various towns but gives some protection for ambushes)
-Noblemans Hat
-Shirt from Stephanie
-Decorated Cuirass
-Black and Yellow Hood
-Nobleman Gauntlets
-Augsburg Plate Paudrons
-Noble Yellow and Green Hose
-Nobleman Boots
-Riveted Bright Chausses
A lot of very similar pieces to yours but made more to look cool in the dialogue screen haha and has a very nice Yellow and Green theme throughout the whole look
@@Griff_Gaming just went and tried that out, very slick looking setup. Nice benefit of not getting restricted vision from the helm as well
Exactly, just don't get poked in the head lol
Great tips, thanks
Glad you got something out of it!!
Solid content mi amigo!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
"Huh, must've been the wind."
Hey, thank you for the guide! Does repairing items with blacksmith and other merchants after you repair them yourself remove the buff?
Yes. For the perks to stay active you have to have the "latest" repair
@@Griff_Gaming got it, thanks, great build!
That's a good spot. It's random though so the pieces aren't garunteed each time but you can do this until you get the ones you want
Awesome video, on my second playthrough and I was getting tired of unequipping heavy armor when trying to rob places lol. Jesus Christ be praised!
That one is fairly light considering the amount of plate armor on it
I just bring plate armor with darker armor cloths and fancy clothes so I can mix them both into a stealth suit
@@Griff_Gaming Yup. got all the perks you mentioned. Is it even possible to use a save from a switch on PC? I'm using a save from nexus mods.
Or just swap between plate armor and stealth armor. Also you can have around 14-18 charisma with plate set.
I think the only part of the game the clothing matters in that way is Prybislavitz but hey, Role-playing so I'll take it lol
