woodturning a large natural edge laburnum bowl

- I made a large bowl with a natural edge from a piece of laburnum that I had prepared earlier and set aside to dry.
After turning and sanding the outside and applying a layer of sealer, I filled a fairly large drought crack with Ca glue.
When the glue had hardened, I sanded off the excess glue and laser engraved my logo into the recess and applied several more layers of sealer with light sanding in between.
The next step in the process was to attach the bowl with the recess to the chuck and hollow out the bowl.
Once I had hollowed out the bowl, I sanded it and applied a number of layers of sealer with light sanding in between.
After the sealer had cured, I sanded the bowl to 600 grit and finished with friction polish.
The bowl has a diameter of 32 centimeters and is 16 centimeters high
Perfect ! So beautiful Hans. Thanks for sharing ! Take care, -Mike
Thank you Mike, it was a unique piece of wood, and it is quite hard, so it was quite a job to turn this, but it was certainly worth it
Beautiful work
Thank you Tim
Very nice looking bowl!
Hello Garry and thank you for watching my video and your reply.
Yes, it has become a beautiful bowl.
Beautiful piece. Very nicely done!
Thank you Ram, I appreciate that
I love the white stripe on the rim which looks like you put it there. Beautiful piece of wood and shape!
Thank you Jojo, it may look like I made that edge there, but it is in the wood. Laburnum has a large color difference between the heartwood and the sapwood. It is also quite a hard wood, so it was slow work, but it was definitely worth it
😊
Pretty bowl, not sure if I have ever turned laburnum. Definitely doesn't grow in my neck of the woods.
Thank you; I appreciate that. well you rarely come across this wood here, and laburnum of this size is also unique here
